sadmad: You know guys, when I think of this whole business about
Linda and the 'deal', I can't help but think of something. Or
someone, to be more accurate.
OS: And what, or who, would that be?
sadmad: Our old friend Heimdallr.
MM: Yeah, how so?
sadmad: Come one, guys! From the very beginning, Heimdallr was on to
Linda. He saw through her right away. He was the voice in the
wilderness, so to speak. He told us all about her phoniness time
after time, but he was kind of dismissed. But, oh, how right he was -
especially now in retrospect.
MM: You know, you're right.
sadmad: Think back to when we first saw that extended interview Linda
gave to that guy from the Prague Post about a year after the show was
over. Heimdallr was almost apoplectic after he saw it, and he just
tore into Linda. Some of our people got upset with him about that,
with his calling her 'this freakish woman' and all that. Sure it was
kind of funny at the time, but what could anybody say about that now?
OS: True.
sadmad: I was looking over that interview again recently. Talk about
an amazing 'performance'. Look at it yourself, guys. (Post #5137). It
almost makes you want to keel over, knowing what we know now.
MM: Oh, my!
sadmad: First off she's asked about how she felt about David's having
the $80 million and she tells him it wasn't very important to her,
that since she's used to making money for herself, it wasn't an
important issue for her whether he had any or not.
MM: Wow! I guess she found a way to 'make money FOR HERSELF',
alright, didn't she?
sadmad: Then the guy asks her if David really would be considered
a 'dream date' for her. She tells him "Of course! He was good
looking... and exciting."
OS: Let me see that! She didn't really say - Hah, hah! Amazing! The
writer even added that exclamation mark after 'Of course!', as if she
said that with emphasis!
MM: Then she says it was "exciting to find out about his lifestyle".
Egads!
sadmad: Exciting? Come on, Linda - you were appalled by his lifestyle.
MM: This is hilarious.
sadmad: The most incredible part, though, was the reply to his asking
her about how it was that she came back to the show again.
OS: Good heavens!
MM: She was upset and feeling down, she says, because she felt he
was 'calling for her'! Oh, my! This is just too much.
sadmad: But the best part is her saying she was at the airport, ready
to leave, when "THEY ASKED ME IF THERE WAS A CHANCE I WOULD CONSIDER
COMING BACK"!!!
MM: Let me see that. Oh, my! She actually does say that, doesn't she?
OS: A 'chance'? If she would 'consider' coming back!
(Sounds of raucus laughter fill the room for several minutes.)
OS: I'm surprised a bolt of lightning didn't come down from the sky,
or something.
sadmad: I sure would like to have seen her face when she saying all
this. I wonder if she was acting as ill-at-ease as she was around Cat
and Petra in Venice.
OS: I guess we have to hope she was, wouldn't you say?
MM: Did you notice that when he asks her what she was planning on
doing, she tells him something about looking into a career in
television -
sadmad: - after having told him previously that one of the reasons
she wanted to leave the proceedings there was because of all
the "stress and pressure" of having to be on camera and being mic'd
so much of the time! Yeah, I saw that, too.
OS: The piece de resistance, though, was this one - the guy asks her
how she felt after she won -
MM: And she says "I KIND OF HAD THIS FEELING THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE END
OF THE SHOW THAT I WOULD BE THE ONE HE WOULD CHOOSE."
sadmad: She 'kind of had' a feeling she would be the one he
chose! 'Kind of'? Words just fail me here, guys.
OS: Then she says she felt 'great'. I would hope, maybe, there was a
little bit of being 'ashamed'. Or even just 'embarrassed'.
sadmad: Look what she says after that, though. One of you guys read
it. I can't bring myself to.
MM: Let's see - Oh, my! I can't either. You try Oliver.
OS: Oh, for the love of - what's wrong with you two? Here - I'll read
it. You're right! I can't read it either.
sadmad: Hard to classify that as being either the most appalling or
the most hysterical thing you've ever seen, right?
MM: Just when I thought I'd heard or seen it all!
OS: Excuse me, but I think I need to leave the room for a minute or
so. I want to get a drink.
MM: I'll join you.
sadmad: Me too.
