Thanks..... Sounds like the one I was talking about.
I believe that the episode you're looking for is called "The
Documentary". It's a strange little episode that takes place on New
Years Eve and has interviews with all the detectives. I'm not sure
where you can get a transcript of the speech, tho.
It was episode 66, from the fifth season and I think it may have been
the last time that Brodie appeared as a regular.
I'm trying to track down an episode. Pemberton gives a long speech
about "the box". He goes on (to a suspect) about why in the world
would any suspect go into The Box with him? "My job is to put you in
jail. You want to stay out of jail". "I am very good at my job" "this
is my box" "Why did you come in here with me". That type of thing. I
have a vague recollection this was an episode around Christmas, but I
may be mixed up on that. It was sort of a long monolouge for him.
Can anyone point me to the correct year and episode???? Gotta get that
speech!
For all those Homicide fans in the UK that were suitably peeved when
ITV4 decided to axe the show recently, I have just found this
online.... it will be available on DVD from 26/2/07...
The must-see US Cop Drama
HOMICIDE: LIFE ON THE STREET
THE COMPLETE FIRST SERIES
DVD Debuts on 26th February 2007
"Creatively cutting-edge TV…" The Independent
"Wonderful and oft-lamented TV Show…" Empire Magazine
The award-winning Homicide: Life on the Street – The Complete First
Series debuts on DVD as a 4 disc-set from Fremantle Home
Entertainment. Featuring all 13 episodes, this exciting and tense
drama will be released on DVD for the first time in the UK on 26th
February priced £24.99 (RRP).
Recently shown on ITV4 having originally been broadcast in the 1990s
on Channel 4, Homicide: Life on the Street captures the gritty
reality of life for a team of homicide detectives in the front line
of crime fighting. The ensemble cast includes Ned Beatty
(Deliverance, Superman II), Andre Braugher (Poseidon), and Yaphet
Koto (Alien) as members of the squad who combat gangland killings,
serial murders and crimes of passion on the streets of Baltimore. The
officers use their team spirit, loyalty and humour to keep them sane.
At it's time, the show was unique in its style, featuring no car
chases and gunfights but focussing on the closing of cases and the
act of the crime that is usually never seen. Cases are kept track of
on a board, with open cases under the primary detective's name shown
in red ink and when the case is closed the red is replaced by black
ink.
The series was shot entirely with handheld cameras on location in the
Fells Point Community of Baltimore, MD and based on the
book "Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets," by David Simon who
spent a year with members of Baltimore's homicide unit making this
one of the most reality- based police drama that has ever aired on
television.
This must own TV series on DVD comes from a production team that
includes Oscar-winning Barry Levinson (Rain Man, Bugsy) and Emmy-
award winner Tom Fontana (St Elsewhere), this series has won 11
awards including an Emmy and is one of just two shows in TV history
to claim three Peabody awards.
Critically-acclaimed and a huge success with audiences (continuing to
run for 6 more series) Homicide: Life on the Street was regularly
hailed as the cop drama that paved the way for NYPD Blues, CSI and
other cop dramas.

Sent to prison for killing her boyfriend, Caryn Acevedo says memories of the
abuse she suffered at his hands still disturb her sleep.
"There are things I am trying to come to terms with ... I still have
nightmares," Acevedo said yesterday in an interview at the library in the
State Prison for Women.
Last March, Acevedo was convicted of negligent homicide in the death of
28-year-old William Burns. She told police she stabbed him in the back with
a steak knife after a night of being beaten and thrown on the floor. She is
serving a three-and-a-half to seven-year prison term.
Acevedo met Burns at the Mountainside Treatment Centre in Canaan, Conn.,
where they both were being treated for heroin addiction.
After they left the program in April 2004, they moved into an apartment in
Manchester, beginning what Acevedo said was a year of daily abuse.
While she was living with Burns, she worked as a receptionist at a dance
studio but said she was not allowed to have friends.
"I never made any friends," Acevedo said. "I was never allowed to go
anywhere myself."
She said she was too afraid to even call the police because she was afraid
of how Burns would react. She didn't run away, she said, because she said
she would have lived in constant fear of what Burns would do to her when he
found her.
"I was not happy with my life," she said. "I must have hated myself to let
someone abuse me like that every day for a year."
She said she has scars on her knees from being dragged across the floor with
broken glass and she has been punched more times in the face than she can
remember.

Sabine investigators are certain a 24-year-old Zwolle woman found dead early
Monday inside her burned home is a homicide. But questions still linger as
to the cause and whether Latasha Nigreville's lifestyle that at one time
revolved around the Goth movement has a connection.
In another twist, investigators are trying to determine if an incident
Friday night in which an improvised explosive device was thrown from a
vehicle near two women who were walking on the school track is related. The
vehicle, occupied by two men, reportedly had been seen at Nigreville's
residence.
"We're still trying to determine if there's a connection," said Sabine
Parish Deputy Coroner Ron Rivers, who also works part time as a Zwolle
patrol officer.
About 10 people have been interviewed so far in Nigreville's death, Sabine
sheriff's Chief Deputy Travis Bennett said.
A 30-year-old man considered a "person of interest" was arrested Monday on
unrelated bench warrants issued for his failure to appear in court. The
Zwolle man has been described as Nigreville's boyfriend.
Investigators are still awaiting the final autopsy results on Nigreville's
cause of death, Bennett said.
A preliminary report did not indicate there was trauma to her body, but
tests are being performed to determine if she was sexually assaulted, Rivers
said.
"It is presumed at this point that she was dead prior to the fire," he added

Hello,
My name is Susan, and I'm new to this group. I just finished watching
Season 6 of Homicide on DVD last night, and I noticed that Fallen
Heroes II did not have some additional scenes that I had heard about
on the Internet. For example, I had heard about a scene where
Billie Lou visited Gharty in the hospital after he had been shot
and met Gharty's wife, Flora, for the first time -- this scene was
not in the episode on the DVD.
Apparently, these scenes appeared in the re-airing of the episode
at some time or the other. My question is does somebody have a copy
of Fallen Heroes II, WITH these additional scenes?? I'd really like
to have a copy, and I'd be willing to pay someone for a copy.
Thanks!
Susan
Hi Dan,
Good idea! Let´s do that. I have seasons 1-5 and the movie, not seas 6 yet
(but plan to get it) or seas 7 (which I don´t think I´ll get... didn´t care
for it much)

I just finished watching Season 7 (which had been a Christmas
present.)
I was thinking of starting with "Gone for Goode" and going through and
watching one episode per week. I'm curious if anybody would be
interested in joining me in this. (I assume most of you out there have
a full set of DVD's as well.) Respond to this post with your e-mail
address (or you can e-mail me at mywaydimag@...) and we'll
figure out the best forum to use. I'll write a little summary/review
of
a different episode every week, and we can all discuss.
Hope you'll all be interested in joining.

Well I just got engaged! I can't believe it, just last year I was beginning to
think i would never meet anyone. I'm 25 already and I thought it was all over.
After some recommendations from a buddy I joined up here:

with a beauty. Well, 14 months later and where still together and planning our
marriage for later this year =)
Well even if you're not looking for love, and just a bit of fun thought I'd give
you all this tip. So you can stay away from all the BS fake profiles
places. This is what I've been using http://www.meetinyourlocalzip.info/znhc .
No joke, I've messaged about 5 women close to me and already 3 have responded,
and I am already organising to meet up with one. Not bad for a guy who hasn't
had a date in a while, lol! :)
