...here are the URL's for the Runco video processors for that system:

They don't convert "regular tee-vee" to CinemaScope...but could using
that processor. Some HD advocates has stated that "downrezzing" is
going to become an issue with changing formats..and little support
equipment. Many current media outlets (including your local Cable
Company) may 'downrez' (convert high resolution pictures to a lower
resolution format) for consumer consumption. That 'scope article
noted the people who purchased that system had to scower the stores
for WideScreen format materials. IF you want to watch "standard
television" on a Cinemascope type screen you might want to do the
following:
1. Stretch the source materials (not recommended..unless it is a
computer graphic or similar).
2. Expand or contract the resolution size..and display in 16:9 or 4:3
aspect ration on your Scope screen. The Ronco System did 1080p
display..but that does not mean if you start with 1000 lines you will
"view" 1000 lines. Some Psychovisual effects take place using the
switch between 1080p 60Hz and 1080i 30Hz. The number of "effective
lines is reduced" (calculate a 1080p 60Hz image as 2160 lines
interlaced at 30Hz)..and your "wow factor" is limited.
A solution?
Use a Faroudja digital "upresolution" converter box (not included in
that Scope system).
