RE: [happydays] Please connect with me :)
I cannot begin to express my sentiments regarding Ron Howard's brief yet
resounding snipet on funnyordie dot com. I believe we all know that actors have
expressed very strong opinions about politics in the past and it is not
surprising that during this political season, a lot of actors and actresses have
expressed their views publicly. I have always taken this with a grain of salt
since actors don't really live in the same world that most of us do. I always
figured it was mostly views expressed by people who for the most part have no
idea even about the current price of milk. So, again, I just basically wrote
them off and for the most part did not pay any attention to them nor did any
particular actor impress me since they can hardly speak for the "little guy." I
must say though, seeing Ron dress up as OPIE and then as Richie in order to
attempt to convince people to vote for a particular candidate was really
dissapointing. I am particularly dissapointed in Henry "The Fonz" Winkler
(whooooa!) as he had vowed out of respect for the personna, never to wear the
leather jacket again. This wonderful show that promoted traditional family
values, that made us all feel so good about family life, hard work and america
in general. Remember the apple pie face? How about Mr. & Mrs. C, the middle
class family. I am not going to say anything deragotary about any candidate here
but I will implore people to look at all the issues before you vote and when
you're ready to cast a vote, make sure that you think about what direction you
want your country to go. Enclosing I would like to tell Ron Howard to please
stick to promoting the vote and not a particular candidate. I hope that perhaps
we can one day see a HAPPY DAYS movie directed by Ron and that we can bring back
traditional family values.
