Thanks, Katy!

Instead of being able to relax and watch football, I spent my holiday with a
friend sorting through stuff and filling garbage bags. I'm moving in January and
have way too much STUFF.

Yep, and for those who think all "sets" from the original series were destroyed,
you really need to take a trip to Franklin Canyon!

The best part? It's NOT make-believe and it's beautiful !!

Don't joke, I may just be doing that.  I am one flock of turkey poo away from
inviting my son's father-in-law, his brother-in-law and my friend Julie's
husband down to rid me of these meddlesome Turkeys.  (OK, there's a bad Thomas
a Becket reference there.)

Excuse me, I can always use painting support! So when we finish at Cindy's
place, you can come home with me for a painting party in the Canyon. Bring Tony
-- I still need a new kitchen!

And a TURKEY SHOOT. Yesterday some of our local turkeys stopped by to terrorize
my cat and poo all over the place. They're quite fat now and looking tasty so
they better poo somewhere else OR ELSE!!!

Me! Me! I can paint. I'll sleep in the utility room.

The best part is looking for a house, so enjoy it Cindy. Then it gets harder.

It's nearly Halloween - I keep thiniking about where we were almost this time
last year - and how wet we were - my poor little phone.

Thanksgiving I am headed to Chris's home in Luxembourg. Friday through Monday
it's the Christmas Markets in Germany, followed by four days in London. We have

Thanks, Katy!  I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the markets and the
Dorchester.  I have wanted to go over for the Christmas Markets for years and
this is the first time we have been able to figure out a good time for us
both.  Next year I will probably be staying fairly close to home after
February.

The Dorchester will be a high point -- I am so glad you thought it was elegant.

Hi Joan,

Your travels sound as though they will be great fun. I have been lucky enough to
go to the Christmas Markets in Germany and they are wonderful. Tea at the
Dorchester is quite an experience and one I would not mind repeating someday,
even though we were only having tea there my friend and I were treated as though
we were guests of the hotel. It is SO civilised and SO elegant, enjoy every
moment and morsel.

Katy

I think we'd need some local knowledge for that...like Ron.

Excuse me, I can always use painting support!  So when we finish at Cindy's
place, you can come home with me for a painting party in the Canyon.  Bring
Tony -- I still need a new kitchen!

And a TURKEY SHOOT.  Yesterday some of our local turkeys stopped by to
terrorize my cat and poo all over the place.  They're quite fat now and looking
tasty so they better poo somewhere else OR ELSE!!!

Me! Me! I can paint. I'll sleep in the utility room.

The best part is looking for a house, so enjoy it Cindy. Then it gets harder.

It's nearly Halloween - I keep thiniking about where we were almost this time
last year - and how wet we were - my poor little phone.

Hi Joan,

Your travels sound as though they will be great fun. I have been lucky enough
to go to the Christmas Markets in Germany and they are wonderful. Tea at the
Dorchester is quite an experience and one I would not mind repeating someday,
even though we were only having tea there my friend and I were treated as though
we were guests of the hotel. It is SO civilised and SO elegant, enjoy every
moment and morsel.

Katy

I actually had my eye on that one, Sue, but I burned up a lot of leave in Europe
and I'm presently building it back up again for the coming holidays. I think
it's super that the cast, crew, directors, producers, etc. are getting together
like that to celebrate the series. Although, for me, one sorely missed would be
the late Cameron Mitchell. I just loved Buck! Carla and I went to Old Tucson
Studios a couple of years ago, so I did get to see the "house."

Well, enjoy, take pics, and please share the experience when you get home!

Denise

P.S. Get well, Doc! Welcome back, Katy! Hey to everyone...it's been too long
!!

So y'all, if you haven't gotten your flu shots yet, GET THEM. We're
assuming my son and I had/have H1N1 flu, because it's very prevalent in this
area, but I didn't bother going to the ER to get tested. In any case, Type A,
B or H1N1, we are MISERABLE. The boyo is going back to school tomorrow,
but in a perfect world, I'd probably keep him home another day. I've still
got another 2 days to go to catch up with him, so am still feeling like dog
food.

Neither of us got a bad cough, just an annoying one, but after the fever
broke, we got incredibly snotty heads. At this point, day 4, I can't leave
a room without taking the kleenex box with me. Between the 2 of us, we've
gone thru 3 large boxes of puffs so far. The sinus headache is incredible,
too, I feel like my head is going to explode. Far worse than when I had
meningitis a few years ago (4 years ago, I think). It hurts to even brush
my hair!

So, if you were considering skipping that shot? Don't. And also, there's
a study out that suggests taking Tamiflu stops you from developing
immunities to the virus. So it's probably better to tough it out. Having said
that, I wish I'd taken the Tamiflu and I NEVER take medication if I can avoid
it.

okay, gotta go empty the trash can - again.

Edinburgh Tattoo in 2011?  Is it too early for me to pack?

heya J and everyone else!

Well you may be stuck in jail, but my son and I have H1N1 flu! And oddly
enough, I got it from him and not from my patients in the ER.

We are both crashed out on the couch, watching TV we'd never in a million
years watch. Well, he might, he's 12. Did anyone get the license plate
number of that steam roller than ran me over?

speaking of vacations...we are hoping to get the Edinburgh Tattoo in 2011,
anyone up for meeting us there?

We are going to Hawaii next spring for my birthday (book 'em Dano!), and
next month we are going on a cruise with my folks over Thanksgiving. ALL of
these courtesy of my folks who would rather go on vacation with us than
leave me a check when they die.

Be rude to turn 'em down, don'tcha think?

My flight leaves at 11:15 -- we will pass in the air!

Yeah, meeting Mano would be fun. I wish it had worked out to have our Young
Riders event at the same time.

What time do you take off?   I'm arriving about noon - maybe lunch at the
airport?

The HC convention sounds like a lot of fun.   Of course anytime you get to meet
Mano Mantoya should be fun.  Not to mention Sam and Wind and whoever else shows
up.  I'll let you know what it's like.

Dang -- I come home on the 14th!

We'll probably pass each other in mid-air.

You'll have to let me know how the HC event is. We wound up moving our gathering
up a week.

Cindy - how long are you going to be in Tucson?   I'm arriving there on the 14th
for a couple days of sightseeing before attending the High Chaparral
convention.    Seems like a great place to be this time of year.

Ummmm... who was it who had all that extra time off after Normandy in June??????
Some of us had to go right back to work -- to save up vacation time for other
things!!!!!

I'm off to Tucson, Arizona, early tomorrow morning. Gonna combine some fun with
Young Riders fans with a little house hunting.
