Well, I just tried at nearly 2am and it's still down.

Maybe they're just delousing it over the holiday weekend.

Or else it's being redesigned by Fox Family Channel. :)

I received my "Freaks and Geeks" tape from New Zealand. I have seen
two of the five eps. They were great!! I saw "Dead Dogs..",
and "Noshing and Moshing". I guess the three that I still haven't
seen are the three that will air on Saturday. Am I right? Well, I
might as well go and watch the other three.

Promote MORE??? I have yet to see ONE promo for it! Has anyone?

Anyway, I guess that really shows you how much they really believed in it.
They stuck it on Saturday nights last fall, delayed it for a month for World
Series in October, then acted surprised it didn't buold and audience.

I realize that it's a little late in the game, but I'm new to the list.

I was able to get on now with no problem. I didn't go back multiple
pages to check thoroughly, but it appeared that the recent Old Lady
posts were gone, although other dubious posts remained. Looks like
it's Maureen vs. Old Lady in a steel-cage grudge match to the death.
Go, Maureen!

Maureen seems to have made it personal, not that I mind. But she should avoid
bragging about blocking Old Lady. And if she is deleting Old Lady's posts, it
would be nice if she got rid of the rest of the crap at the same time. Please
don't take this as an attack on Maureen. Dave

Thanks, scary for finding it for us. This means that at least EW, TV
Guide, and People have already mentioned the marathon in the last
week, even if NBC hasn't given it more than 7 seconds of promotion.
Here's the URL & article. Check out the picture of Cardellini and
Stiller at the site:

http://people.aol.com/people/000710/picksnpans/tube.html

Thank you, NBC, for generously airing three "all-new" episodes of the
canceled Freaks and Geeks on one night. Better to trot them out in
the dog days than toss them in the trash unseen. Now here's a
revolutionary idea: Save the show!

Okay, back to reality. Diehard fans have to grab what they can of
this critically lauded but ratings-starved series about Michigan high
schoolers circa 1980. But the July 8 marathon, entertaining though it
is, may leave you regretful and a little angry at the thought that a
show of such rare quality can't survive beyond a single less-than-
full season.

The virtues of Freaks and Geeks shine through in these three hours:
the naturalness of the young actors; character development that
allows for growth and avoids predictability; humor that's warm one
minute, pointed the next (as when McKinley High braces for a vice-
presidential visit). It's not too late to meet endearingly awkward
Sam (John Daley), his independent-minded sister Lindsay (Linda
Cardellini) and the other true-to-life teens. But you'll miss them
all too soon.

Bottom Line: Let them live!

The saddest thing is that nothing Maureen tries ever works. Unless
the board was reconfigured to be more like eGroups, where you can't
be anonymous and are therefore accountable for what you post, "Old
Lady" (I hate to even invoke that name) can just keep flooding the
board with his nonsense by using another provider or coming up with a
new screen name.

You just have to wonder how that person ever found the F&G board in
the first place. Judging by the humor displayed in his posts, it
can't be because he actually appreciated the show's writing.

I had hoped the LA Times might toss "F&G" one last bone by putting
them on the cover of this week's TV section, but no. That
distinction goes to the evil "Big Brother". Booooooo!!!!
Ssssssssssss!!!!!

The marathon does get a "dandy" listing as one of
Saturday's "Watchables":

"Last chance to catch three unaired episodes of this dandy dramedy,
whose meager ratings resulted in cancellation. In the first hour,
cheerleader Cindy invites Sam (John Daley) to a makeout party."

This does prove how geeky we all are that we are depressed b/c we
can't get onto a site either Friday or Saturday night!

On a brighter note: ONE WEEK TO F&G MARATHON! I have to say this
for NBC, I can't think of a time where they devoted their entire
prime time slots to one show. I've seen them do 4 eps of one sitcom
on a single night, but never three hours, although I suppose the 6
eps of Will & Grace would count. But F&G got there first!
WOOOHOOOO!!!!

Of course, any true TV geek would know that a real marathon means
that, to watch the entire thing, you would have to forgo sleeping
and/or bathing, and to tape it means that you have to set up multiple
VCR's, time them perfectly, and still have to get up at 3 am to
switch tapes. Man, I miss MST3K's Turkey Day Marathons!

I do have to admit, though, last night when, after being unable to
get in after two hours - and I didn't sit there and try to get in for
two hours, I'm not THAT much of a geek - I was a little concerned
that perhaps I had been banned for some reason I couldn't figure out
(I never post under any name but my own)...

I was able to get in earlier today, so I assume I'm ok. <g>

I think CBS is over doing its real world wannabe tv series, i mean big
brother is like that show only they eliminate their contestants (which takes
the fun out of it, in my opinion anyway) So i hope a large fragment of the
audience thinks the same way so our good old F+G beats them, but it looks
very difficult.

I certainly hope "Big Brother" fades by its second episode, since it
airs opposite my VH1 movie.

Hey, since "Survivor" and "Big Brother" have people being voted OFF
the show, how about if I pitch NBC my radically different "reality"
concept in which people are ADDED to the show as it goes along? You
start with just one guy all by himself and then keep adding people
every week until it becomes intolerable, like the stateroom scene
in "A Night At The Opera".

Or how about "Jenga: The Series"? People agree to live in a giant
replica of one of those Jenga games and then, one by one, pieces of
the building are removed until it eventually crumbles in a massive --
and very cool-looking -- disaster. A million dollars in medical
insurance is then divided among those who survive the collapse.

Anyone have Garth Ancier's home phone number?

Okay, here's the problem I had with "Time of Your
Life":

Jennifer Love Hewitt (nor Sarah whats-her-face)
was simply not interesting enough to warrant a
spinoff. Interesting? I mean,
accomplished...okay, interesting, too.

It wasn't like with, say, Valerie Harper with
"Rhoda," or Ed Asner with "Lou Grant," or even
Ted Shackelford AND Joan Van Ark with "Knots
Landing." Valerie Harper and Ed Asner were (and
are) terrific, accomplished actors, and their
respective characters were viable enough to
warrant entire series of their own.

To me, Sarah did not exactly breathe life into
"Party of Five," the way Harper and Asner did on
"Mary Tyler Moore Show." In fact, had it not been
for Rhoda and Lou, "MTM" would've been quickly
forgotten, and never brought to mind again.

Plus, what was the POINT of TOYL, anyway? Sarah
originally went to NY to find her long-lost
father...which she did...in the FIRST EPISODE.

"Oh, how nice...Next?"

From there, we were supposed to believe that
Sarah was sticking around to "find herself."

Like she didn't have the opportunity to do so
that entire season she and Bailey were on the
"outs" because of his drinking! What? Was she too
busy auditioning for parts in summer teen-slasher
pics to do some self-analysis? Heck! EVERYBODY on
PO5 was ALWAYS trying to analyze his- or herself!
They didn't call it "thirtysomething: the Early
Years" for nothing!

Of course, Sarah was too vapid, too shallow, too
clueless, and WAAAY too one-dimensional to try
and find a life that DIDN'T include mooning over
that insipid "Bai"! And that, I blame on a team
of writers who just didn't know what to do with
her--she looked good next to Scott Wolf in the
first guest shot, and it pretty much snowballed
from there.

In other words, I hated Sarah Reeves.

At no point in any draft of my script do you find the words "Please
