When you have a free night to review something you can always let me know -- I usually know where one or more of the F&G people are going to be. :-)
Tonight it's possible that Linda Cardellini will lip-synch a song at the benefit for the Echo Theater Company at Largo -- she's a member of the company, but they haven't specified who's going to perform. More information is available at http://www.largo-la.com. (In case you haven't been to Largo since it moved, it's now on La Cienega, not Fairfax.)
Tomorrow night, Gruber might be performing in the Watkins Family Hour show at Largo, but I don't know for sure yet. Same with a show on December 1 at Largo -- it's not 100% yet.
December 6 is a monthly show starring Gruber, Jim Turner, and Mark Fite called Clowntown City Limits at the Steve Allen Theater.
December 11-12 is a 1940s-style radio show performed live every 2nd weekend of the month. Samm Levine and Gruber are regular members of the cast, though they aren't always in it if they have other obligations. Martin Starr has also appeared in it with them. I think you'd really enjoy that show -- let me know if you want to go sometime (including December -- I'm currently finalizing my reservations).
Nice to see a post from you,
Tami

Hey Gang,
Do any of you know of any Los Angeles/Valley appearances that James or others will be in soon? I'd love to review any projects of our Freaks and Geeks for EXAMINER.

"I'm not sure what an actor like James Franco is doing on a daytime soap opera, but he must have some reason for doing it... maybe he's researching for a real acting job? I kid, some great actors came out of soaps, but they don't usually go back to them.
Check out Franco making his debut on General Hospital as a very mysterious character (around the 6:00 mark). Maybe I'll start TIVO'ing the soap, at least he's some good eye candy."

It's driving me crazy that his character is named "Franco" ...
They just showed an ad for "Scrubs" during "GH" and said that James Franco's younger brother Dave is going to be making his debut on that show on December 1.

Busy Philipps is on the Bonnie Hunt Show today with other members of the cast of
"Cougar Town" -- the clip should be available online (and is already available
through the Facebook page for the Bonnie Hunt Show).
Also, if you caught Judd Apatow on Conan on Monday night, you saw a deleted
scene from "Funny People" in which Dave (Gruber) Allen played Seth Rogen's
step-dad. "Funny People" comes out on DVD next Tuesday, and the extras are
really amazing. If you missed that episode of Conan, you should also be able to
catch that online.

Oops -- one correction: I didn't realize that what Gruber was telling me about was a live Yo Gabba Gabba show, not a taping of the TV show.
Here's a series of great photos from the live Yo Gabba Gabba show here in L.A. yesterday. Photos 15 through 17 are Samm, Martin, and John in the show, and photos 38 through 41 are some nice ones of Busy and her daughter Birdie and the guys:
I will still keep you posted when I find out when Gruber's episode of Party Down is going to air. :-)

Martin Starr is working on a new season of the show "Party Down" on Starz, and Dave (Gruber) Allen just filmed a guest-starring role on the show last week. He told me he has about three scenes with Martin, and it was a treat to be working with him again for the first time since F&G.
Gruber also mentioned that Martin, Samm Levine, and John Daley just filmed an episode yesterday of the children's show "Yo Gabba Gabba!"
I'm not sure when either of these episodes will air, but I'll let you know if I find out,

That is interesting, Ann. If anyone is able to go to the screening, be sure to report back!
Interestingly, if I remember right, James Franco's stint on General Hospital starts this Friday (11/20). Quite the contrast with the movie described in this article!
