line of merchandise by e-mailing jason@...

For Kristen and others who missed:<br><br>The
official write up with embellishment and
comment.<br><br>12/06/00<br>THE WHOLE TRUTH<br>Molly's grandfather Charlie
(Edmund Lyndeck) has fallen ill and she askes Ed to help
with his last will and testament. When Charlie
confides in Ed about his past, he becomes conflicted with
his allegiance to his friend, Molly and his client,
Charlie. <br><br>This was very good. Charlie had the
reputation as a long time womanizer. His secret was that a
few years earlier he had begun an affair with another
man. Charlie was uncertain about telling everyone,
then decided to and had Ed (whom he insisted on
calling "Jerry" the whole time) call a family meeting.
They arrived for the meeting to learn that Charlie had
just died. Ed then had the delima. Charlie had wanted
to tell, but now he couldn't. Should Ed do it for
him?<br><br>Meanwhile, Dr. Burton has a little competition at the office
when Dr. Jerome (Marvin Chatinover) brings in a
beguiling doctor (Mark Deklin) to assist with the duties...
<br><br>This was also very funny. Mike is forced to be more
prompt, outgoing, concerned, etc. Then he finds out Dr.
Jerome was just pulling his chain.<br><br>Two other
elements are not mentioned in their spoiler. Phil wants to
have "open mike night." Since it's Phil, everything
gets way overdone.<br><br>Also, Mike and Nancy drop
hints that it is time for Ed to move out. When Ed says
that maybe it's time to move out, Mike says no, they
love having him. So Ed says that he'll stay. Mike then
says, "Ed, this is the point in the conversation where
you are supposed to INSIST on leaving no matter how
much we beg you to stay."<br><br>Next week's ep whould
find Ed in his own
house.<br><br><a href=http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/edsedfanclub

Okay, I need a summary and some comments about
the episode this Wednesday. I didn't forget that it
moved but I was out all day and my stupid VCR decided
not to work recently. Thanks ya'll! I appreciate
it!<br><br>-Kristen
It will be on regularly on Wednesday from now on.
The Thanksgiving ep was the last one on Sunday. It
may run in "special" time slots at other times, but
the move to Wednesday is already affective, and
should be from now on. (As permanent as network
television gets.<br><br>There is some discussion on the
move, and reaction to it at my club
<a href=http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/edsedfanclub
target=new>http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/edsedfanclub</a>
Well, with the airing of Titanic this past Sunday
Ed was not seen. I was a little disappointed and so
was a friend of mine who had been wanting to see what
all my fuss was about. Anyways, does anyone know if
ED willing be airing this Sunday? Or will it wait to
begin in its new time slot, Wednesday? Thanks ya'll!
<br><br>-Kristen
One of the surprises, Kristen, had to be when he
called Liz. With all of the "Carol this" and "Carol
that" on the show, you forget that Liz is a tradition
Ed hasn't had time to break
completely.<br><br>Really helps make this the most "human" show on
TV.<br><br><a href=http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/edsedfanclub
target=new>http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/edsedfanclub</a>
This episode made you think: just how important
are traditions? Like everything that happened in this
episode - maybe it's time to make new traditions. Oh yes
- but one tradition will never end...skid ball.
<br><br>This episode was just overall...different. Of course
we all know (in my personal opinion) that Carol acts
like a bitch sometimes but i do think that she's got a
good side in her - and I think that showed in this
episode. Because of her breakup with Nick and Ed's divorce
they were able to work together and make a new
tradition all their own (to share w/ Stuckeyville of
course.) But anyways! At least they have something in
common now. <br><br>Watching this episode with my
boyfriend: during the scene with Carol and Ed in the kitchen
he remarked, "she wants him". I laughed...you just
now realized that? <br><br>-Kristen
Yeah, Kristen. You might as well get used to
Carol. They have her on contract for the rest of the
season, at least. It's not likely they will write her
out. Otherwise, Ed has less reason to hang around
Stuckeyville.<br><br>I was surprised how small that element was to the
show. After all, by including it in the trailer that
they ran the week before, they created quite a stir.
Who knows how a two-parter about "will she go or
stay" would have played. Now, that's less of an
option.<br><br><a href=http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/edsedfanclub
target=new>http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/edsedfanclub</a>
GO Molly and go Ed! I have to say that the whole
'Carol is running away' thing is so true. There are so
many reasons why she could be leaving: To get away
from the small town life, to get away from Nick, or
even to get away from Ed! Luckily though - as much as
I dislike her - she is staying. <br><br>Plus, they
can't just get rid a major character (actor with a
contract.) <br><br>-Kristen
Thanks for the plug for my club, Kristin. If we
all work together we can help "Ed" be the success it
deserves to be. I think the move to Wednesday will really
help. "Dateline" has been a real drag on the Sunday
night rating. After about 15 - 20 minutes of "In the
Beginning" last night, i switched channels. Wednesday may be
our best hope for rescuing it from a ratings
disaster.<br><br><br><a href=http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/edsedfanclub
target=new>http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/edsedfanclub</a>
That's true. Like anyone, Carol needs time to
herself. I understand that, but for some reason, the way
she has presented herself in the first episodes just
makes her gain no pity from me now. Personally - I
think it's ED that should be moving on. I'm getting way
to many mixed feelings fromt this show now. Next
week Carol is supossed to move away. Of course, this
is going to kill ED emotionally. BUT, maybe this is
a chance for him to just move on. They have totally
different lives. <br><br>-Kristen
For me, this episode saved both Nick and Carol's
characters. Nick got two absolutely fantastic speeches in
before he faded into the background, and Carol hasn't
seemed as "real" a person as in that last
scene.<br><br>Julie Bowen said in an interview before the run started
that the Carol character is one that is in a
transition process from being the town sweetheart that
everyone has a crush on to becoming her own woman. It
would take so little effort to make her a "queen bitch"
caricature and watch Ed twist in the wind, but it's getting
darn near impossible to sell this show short.<br><br>-
Kyle<br><a href=http://welcome.to/stuckeyville
target=new>http://welcome.to/stuckeyville</a>
I was kind of waiting for Carol's skywriting to
say "I'm Sorry Ed - that you're such a loser!" or
whatever.<br><br>Didn't that scene save Carol for you? I know that
everyone wants nothing but good for Ed. But it wouldn't
make sense if we didn't treat Carol like a real
person. She needs time. Ed needs time too, he just hates
to
wait.<br><br><a href=http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/edsedfanclub
target=new>http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/edsedfanclub</a>
That whole "Burger me" bit reminded me of the
"Seinfeld" ep where they were waiting for a table at the
Chineses restaurant. Elaine says something about being so
hungry she wants to eat something off of one of the
tables. Jerry tells her he'll give her $$$ if she will go
over to a particular table, not say a word and eat one
of the egg rolls. Elaine whispers to them that she
will split the $$ if they will let her take
one.<br><br>I think it's a guy thing to make a fool of yourself
for
money.<br><br><a href=http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/edsedfanclub
target=new>http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/edsedfanclub</a>
Good save ED! My hatred for Carol continues to
grow still. But I do also feel sorry for her
sometimes. I just wish she wouldn't always take ED for
granted. Sure, she knows he wants her and she's always
using that against him it seems. <br><br>-Kristen
Haha! <br>Kyle that is great...I wish I actually
had the courage to do anything like that - I'd just
make a fool of myself. I hate how no one has a sense
of humor anymore - even as a teenager I've noticed
that. Laugh people! Laugh! <br><br>-Kristen
Hi all - just joined. More Ed clubs =
good!<br><br>>"Burger me..." This is awesome....I'd dare<br>>anyone
to do this!<br><br> I went to the local Chili's on
Tuesday with the intention of taking up Ed's challenge.
This is roughly how it went during the ordering
stage:<br><br>Waitress: ...okay, and what'll you have?<br>Kyle: Burger
me.<br>Waitress: (with weird look) Uhhh... how do you want that
cooked?<br>Kyle: (pause) Burger me.<br>Waitress: (scribbling on
pad) Okey... dokey.<br><br> The burger finally arrived
after 20 minutes, was a tad cold, and was cooked medium
rare; we also had crappy service for the rest of the
meal. Upon leaving, the person I was with felt
compelled to apologize to the waitress, and I was
guilt-tripped into leaving a fat tip. Why does everyone take
everything so darned seriously these days? ;)<br><br>- Kyle
I saw your listing for this club, and had to
join! I am a huge fan of the show, and of the parent
Letterman organization.<br><br>I also have an "Ed" club.

Okay, I thought this episode showed a side to
Carol that I actually liked. I really don't like Carol
most of the time because of the ways that she so
non-chalantly (spelling?) blows off ED, who she so obviously
knows is in love with her. I just thought that even
though her examples (like the waffle thing) were a
little off - the explinations were great. Go Carol. Oh,
and go ED for winning that case! -Kristen
