Hi there,
I am SAM, an Iraqi refugee living in Lebanon at the moment; I have spent the
last 10 years of my life as a refugee registered with the UNHCR in Beirut. The
last 4 years, I have spent as an activist for peace and human rights (especially
refugees and asylum seekers) on the Internet; I'm also books author and ebooks
publisher. I have launched many campaigns to improve our situation as refugees
in Lebanon and hopefully bring more understanding to our problems worldwide. I
helped make many changes and improvements at the UNHCR office in Beirut; I used
the Internet as the field for my activities (you can read more about that in my
free ebook 'MY CAMPAIGNS'). All my ebooks are free and could be download from my
sites.
This is my newest campaign, it's about the illegal and humiliating actions of
the UNHCR, who using photos of refugees as banners and human-buttons to collect
money. This is an abuse of the dignity and humanity of the refugees and must
stop immediately and a clear public apology present by The United Nations High
Commissioner for Refugees. My friends, I am talking about the pictures you can
see here:

Where you can read the rest of this message as web page.
Also you can read my new campaign 'Urgent, we need smile' here:

For more info about UNHCR and life of refugees you can read my free ebooks. I
invite you as fellow humans and members of the world community to support my
campaign by reading my article on my site and see the human-buttons. The
campaign is to support and improve the UNHCR http://www.unhcr.ch especially
after the last scandals in the UN and UNHCR, just for example:
The refugees allege that UNHCR staff is selling most of the food items they are
supposed to be supplied.
"They aren't supplying sufficient food to us because they sell most of the food
items," they allege: http://allafrica.com/stories/200503140214.html
Here is another example: Burmese Refugees Withdraw Protest Against UNHCR

"We make demonstration and fast because the UNHCR office in Cairo did nothing
for our problem..." http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/4440730.stm
Together we will build better world.

Amen, Pezred...the mere implication that Armando released those two
cats at Rancho Montelongo to catch the rattlesnakes was the "last
straw" for me; I refuse to watch one more second of FTH with the SA
team (even calling them a "team" is pushing it...it's an arrogant
a-hole milking his "15 minutes" for every second by treating his
family/business partners and anyone else who works for him like
crap).
I admit, I TRIED....I REALLY TRIED to give this new FTH crew a
chance...unlike many of those complaining on the A&E boards that they
gave up after a few minutes in disgust. I had a really hard time
getting past the scene where a bunch of bikini-clad, stiletto-heeled
waitresses were "borrowed" off their job to "lure" the constuction
workers off the women's jobsite and onto the men's - of course, only
after Armando drove them around on his truck af if they were his
harem. Next thing you know, he's ordering them to pick up trash on the
jobsite, still in bikinis and high heels. I nearly vomited at the site
of this "train wreck." Despite this, I made myself watch, constantly
cringing at Armando's personality and shouting curses at the TV, and
then seeing those two poor cats- both well-groomed and probably have
never set a paw outside in their lives- set out to kill RATTLESNAKES
on the property...that's it, I'm done.
Went to A&E to see how much flak they caught about Montelongo's
actions, and was both shocked and relieved to see the HUGE, ANGRY
response about the show in general. Think A&E will get the hint? Maybe
it's too early to tell, and we can't count tonight's airing of a
rerun, as it's up against the Emmys (as all the networks usually do),
but I suspect A&E may be doing some serious re-arranging of the
schedule (read: damage control) in weeks to come, if they see that FTH
no longer has any viewers to speak of!!
I suppose I don't even need to bring up how turned-off I am by
Armando's nasty actions on the show, but as I could not get onto the
A&E boards, I feel the need to vent a bit..I'll keep it a civil as
possible! :)
We're all well aware of his motivation; every other word out of his
mouth is "profit," "money," investment"....ok, I'm sure that's what he
got into the business for. But:
...bitching about how much his lazy, immigrant workers (HIS words, not
mine) are eating into his profits, having his dog "snif out"
apparently untrustworthy contractors (read: those who will ask for too
much money), cracking another beer and soaking in a kiddie pool,
smacking his wife on the butt and barking orders at her to suit up and
exterminate the bee hives?
GIVE ME A BREAK! At first I felt sorry for her and the crappy way she
was being treated, but then I thought she's either so pathetically
lacking in self-esteem that she'll put up with it, or (most likely)
she's as money-obscessed as he is, and they're using this TV
opportunity to both hype their business AND turn what was once a
highly-entertaining, educational home-improvement show into a "Kitchen
Confidential"-wannabee...Please! Richard and Team Tradmark created
this show and it was more REAL than any other so-called "reality" show
out there; I can't even stand to see the commercials for
such "reality" shows; does starring in such give one carte blanc to be
as nasty and demeaning to others as possible? Does screaming at
everyone and stepping over others to get what you want equal higher
ratings? Apparently it does in today's world of TV show production.
I'm interested to see if groups such as the ACLU, PETA or the ASPCA,
etc. react to the goings-on on the "new" FTH. I've only seen a few
minutes of the "Pink House" episode with the Atlanta group, so I don't
feel I can comment on it, but from the negative opinions I've read so
far, things don't bode well for the new season of FTH at all.
A&E has enough on their plate, what with the lawsuit from Richard and
Trademark for breach of contract, etc...they'd be shooting themselves
in the foot if they continue to show this trash.

Hey! I just joined & wanted to thank you for starting this group. I
really like the show & was looking forward to seeing what Richard &
Ginger were up to this year & then I find out they are not even on!!! I
am so sorry to see they are gone. So far I dont really like these two
groups. I find them very irritating people to even listen to much less
watch for an hour. Rancho Montelongo....Good Grief gimme a break.
Plus, I hope those cats keep away from the rattle snakes!
Carrie.
Thanks for starting this post!! I figured someone may have already,
and if not, I would have done it...I tried to post on the A&E forums
last night regarding the new "crew" from SA, and was amazed to see
nearly 30 pages of scathing messages regarding this unprofessional and
vain SA team! I thought I had been overreacting, and decided to give
them another chance, but after 3 episodes, I can't even watch it any
more.
Needless to say, I couldn't even register for the boards, and was
caught in an endless "loop" of filling out info to register, then
confirming through an email, which only sent me back to a blank
registration page to start all over again!! Seems as if A&E was SO
swamped with new registrants just to complain about the show, that
they're probably not accepting any new members....
I'll spare you my big rant for now; just wanted to pop in and say hi.

As some of you may know, FTH comes on at 12 on Sundays/Mondays also.
I tuned in, while watching another program, and thought well atleast
they got a better house to flip, well they DIDN'T FLIP IT! It's his
OWN house?! The WHOLE point of the show is the buy/fix/sell. He's
gunna sit on it for 4 years and the house vaule will double?!? I'm
sorry but that's a joke. He seems like one of those people who
whatever you have he's got something better and greater. What an ass.
I live in Ga and my husband and I are new to Real Estate investing.
Today we actually looked at a house on Lawton Place right across the
street from the flip the Atlanta Group did.(you know the little pink
house they painted 12 different colors) Well you should see it in
person. AAAHHH. What a crappy job. They just painted over anything
including the house numbers. They didnt sand anything. The wood floors
are still seperated from the baseboards and the holes in the floor are
still there. The outside of the house you can still see the pink that
they missed when painting. OH yea the house is vacant, it never sold.
According to one of the neighbors it was all staged he said no one
ever bought it. What a crock. I dont think Richards show was a shame
you never heard talk about all the ways he could cut corners to save
money.
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - A&E has been slapped with a
multimillion-dollar lawsuit stemming from its reality series "Flip
This House."
Richard C. Davis, executive producer and star of "Flip," filed suit
in the Court of Common Pleas in Charleston, S.C., against the cable
network and production company Departure Films, citing fraud, breach
of contract and seven other counts.
The lawsuit hinges on A&E's decision to move ahead with a second
season of "Flip" without Davis and his real estate company,
Trademark Properties. The series follows Trademark staffers as they
buy, fix and resell undervalued residences.
"Plaintiffs have been defrauded and cheated by defendants, and
defendants have used and exploited plaintiff's valuable concept and
format for 'Flip This House' without plaintiffs' approval or
authority," according to the lawsuit.
A&E declined comment.
Davis has gone on to sign with Discovery Communications for a
similarly themed series on cable network TLC.
I agree with this poster from the IMBD boards:
"So, discrimination is OK with you? Bigotry is to be overlooked?
Mocking gays is understandable? Cracks about "Hebrew" slaves is no
problem? Hedonism is admirable? Greed is fine?
$Money$ was mentioned every second sentence. I have never heard
anyone so concerned about getting all the profit they can.
Their "greed" is beyond normal. They refused to pay their intern,
while making jokes about slavery.
Slavery was WRONG 150 years ago and it's even MORE WRONG today.
Watching Sam, that insecure pig, "reward" himself with hedonistic
pleasures, including that strange notion about the role his "suit"
plays in his enjoyment of life, while watching him squeeze every
cent he can out of the people who work for him, is enough to make a
decent person sick.
And he sure had a "rainbow" crew didn't he? Yup, no discrimination
there. (Can you imagine what would have happened if Richard had an
all white crew?) Yup, nothing like a good dose of hypocrisy to start
the day.
The Atlanta bunch are racist, prejudiced, money-grubbing bigots who
don't even try to cover up their hatred of their fellow man.
Sam is an arrogant, greedy, hedonist, bigot. Lamont is an arrogant
bully and a dull-witted pig. And Mrs. Sam, the lovely Shani, sits on
her taste. (Without the hard work of the man they mocked,
unmercifully, the house would have looked like a dive.)
Garbage is as garbage does.
I will NEVER watch this show again. Richard and crew were class.
These "replacements" are vile, low-life, trash.
Double standard? YES! Dr. Laura was tormented, and picketed, and
vilified for merely stating a difference of opinion about the
homosexual lifestyle, yet Lamont was allowed to call one gentleman
all sorts of anti-gay names, and nothing is said. Well, life is too
short to tolerate vulgar hogs, and I refuse to watch these vulgar
Atlanta hogs, ever again."
Well, I saw the Atlanta Episode yesterday and I must say I didn't hate
it NEARLY as much as I did Texas. I found it a funny, but that's
probably just my sense of humor.
Also I got an e-mail from Richard (it says feedback though) saying
he's very thankful for the support of all the fans who told A&E on
there discussion boards that the San Antonio Crew was crap! I'm still
125% behind Trademark! - John
Does anyone know when the new Trademark Properties show will air on
TLC and the name of the new show? I miss it a lot. Does anyone know
what happened between Trademark and A&E?
Hello all! With the recent pulling of the A&E "Flip This House" site,
I'm figuring because of the lawsuit, I'm thinking the A&E forums are
next! I noticed a couple of people keep up with the threads @
IMDB.com but I thought I'd start one here. Feel free to discuss
pros/cons of the show, just please keep it civil, and spread the word
we are here. I am not affiliated with Trademark or A&E, just a big fan.
