Can't wait to see him! He was cast perfectly as Dick in Flambards!

It was the joke sign he made to hang on the back of their car when they left for
their honeymoon. It read "Definitely NOT married!"

Envelopes at weddings traditionally mean money but it can't have been that
because the Russell boys never had any (all the money was Christina's).

Hi!
The author obviously agreed with you about the chemistry between Mark and
Christina being very strong as, after the tv series was broadcast, KM Peyton
wrote Flambards Divided, where Christina falls out of love with Dick and in
love with Mark. The book is a great follow-on for lovers of the tv series. I
recommend it!
Best wishes,
Clare

Subject: [Flambards] Re: The Hunt Ball, William vs. Mark, etc.
Hi,
It seems odd, replying to an old post, but I'm a newbie exploring the message
board and some of what you wrote struck a chord with me, Laura.
I just recently bought the show on DVD and watched it (several times already!)
for the first time in almost 30 years. I'm much more familiar with the books and
it struck me that William in the TV adaptation is much more severe on, and
dismissive of, Christina. The TV adaptation made many little changes to their
scenes and, to be honest, I think I prefer many of the original scenes from the
book!
But I'm still a Christina-and-William fan!
Claire.

According to some old posts I've read in the archives here, Christine McKenna
was 27 when Flambards was filmed. Alan Parnaby was younger, about 23.

Hi,
I've seen mention in posts of a fanfic called "Flambards Reborn", which I'd like
to read but can't find. Can anyone help? Thanks.
BTW, I'm a newbie, a fan of the TV adapation from all those years ago, when I
also bought all the tie-in books. I only recently watched the show again, thanks
to the DVDs, so up to now, I've been most familiar with the books. 'The Edge of
the Cloud' is my favourite and I still dip into it from time to time, much more
so than the others (especially 'Flambards Divided'!)
I'm enjoying the TV show again but am a little put out at the many small
changes, especially in Christina-and-Will's scenes, most of which I don't
consider improvements!
I'm delighted to find so many Flambards fans out there, as most people to whom I
mention it just look blankly at me.
Claire, Ireland.

Hi,
I've recently watched Flambards (many times!) after an almost 30 year gap and
can't help wondering how old Christine McKenna and Alan Parnaby were at the
time. IMDB lists the year of birth for many of the other actors but not for
these two.
If anyone can help, great, and thanks in advance!
Claire, newbie
Thanks, Alicia, I'm glad you liked it! I also liked the way you handled
dialogue in *Flambards Reborn.*
I had a little time this morning, so did a few revisions to yesterday's postings
to tighten it up a bit.
I am being a little hard on Will, but he will eventually be rewarded ;-)
Lisa
Hello Lisa,
I want to tell you how much I am enjoying your work! The dialog is great. I
found I loved writing dialog too. You are developing these characters
wonderfully, and, as I said before, very much in keeping with the original
style. I suppose some of the club members will not appreciate the problems you
are pointing out, but I feel this is very realistic for two people who were so
different. There would have been problems from the outset, and all Christina's
misgivings ring true.
I look forward to the next installment!
Alicia Snow
