After doing some reading online (gotta love Google)
about vasovagal syncopy (fainting from standing up too
quickly), I learned that some of my symptoms (not
being able to remember standing up, not knowing what
had happened, where I was, when I first regained
consciousness, and loss of continence) did not fit
vasovagal syncopy, but did fit symptions of seizure.
That combined with the fact that a friend who is a
nurse (Hi Billie-Lee!) was very concerned that after
loss of consciousness and head injury I had not been
sent for a CT scan, only x-rays, had me placing a call
to my doctor's office. He's not in his office on
Fridays, but they got a hold of him, and he called me
back. He agreed that seizure was a possibility. He
had his office schedule me for an EEG on Wednesday the
4th of June.
I'm not trying to be alarmist or a hypochondriac. I
just want make sure that if it was a seizure, we
know it was a seizure, and can maybe start
trying to figure out why, and how to prevent it in the
future. What happened the other day scared the hell
out of me, and I don't want to go through it again.
BTW: here's me as of this morning. The picture is
small, it was taken with a web cam.
