I've seen a couple of episodes of Broken News and you're right it is
really funny:
"I'm here at the northern most tip of Norway. If you go far enough
that way you'll reach Russia. If you go far enough the other way
you'll end up back here ... That's the kind of place this is."
Brilliant!
If you're a MySpace user you might be interested in the MySpace Dare to

I'm haven't worked out MySpace yet, but I hear it's very popular with
the kids.

I have just learnt Patrick Allen, Wordmaster to you, recently passed
away. Apart from Dare to Believe he was a face and voice of television
for 30 years, including the narrator in Blackadder and on the smash hit
single "Two Tribes" by Frankie Goes to Hollywood.
Tim Scott emailed to say,
"He was a wonderful person. Incredibly friendly, gentle and keen to
have a go at anything."
I thought he was great in Dare to Believe, I know a lot of you did too.
So here's a clip of him in Dare to Believe http://www.youtube.com/watch?

I emailed Tim Scott (he wrote the thing you know) and told him what
we're up to. He's so nice - here's what he said:

I am enormously touched. And not a little stunned.

Except agua-moose.com. We were the first and still going. And since the
official site is dead we're the place to be. It's where all the cool
d2b fans* hang out :)

Thank God there's another D2B site up and running! I don't know what
it is with D2B sites but they never seem to last long, hopefully this
one will be different though!
nice work on the new site, I just had a look at it, and its looking
very impressive, I especially like the fact that you have two episodes
on the site so that people who haven't actually seen the show will get
a taster from both series.
it looks very smart aswell.
nice work

I'm pleased to announce the relaunch of agua-moose.com - the original
Dare to Believe fansite, made by people from this group. Not only
that but Dare to Believe is now available to download from UKNova!
Detail below.
What I want you to do now is to tell the world. Tell your friends,
tell anyone you think may be interested, tell everyone on the
internet. And all you would have to do is cut and paste the message
below.
Go!

Hello fellow Dare to Believe fan!
Remember the surreal sketches and trippy visuals? Remember Twarb
coffee, Recognising Things, the otter survey? Do you remember the
agua moose?
I'm here to announce the relaunch of agua-moose.com - the original
Dare to Believe fansite, with its spangly new look at http://www.agua-
moose.com
And I'm also here to announce that Dare to Believe is now available
to download on the BitTorrent site UKNova http://www.uknova.com
You will need to a UKNova account, and places are limited. But new
places become available everyday so keep trying.

My favourite comedy at the moment is American, it's called the Colbert
Report. It's a spoof of a right-wing opinion programme, the sort they
have in america. Colbert is the man, watch it. Look on YouTube,
particularly here http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=rayato
jim
The final votes are in and I think it went very well, 202 people
signed the online petition, I received 90 e-mails from fan's
requesting DtB be re-aired and 12 people left messages on "Myspace"
offering their support.
Thanks to everyone for responding to the petition and offering their
support, hopefully we will be watching dare to believe some time in
the near future.
Much obliged to everyone

have you see That Mitchell And Webb Look its quite surreal and very
fuuny
My favourites on at the moment are Time Trumpet (BBC2), Dream On (ITV4),
Swinging and Respectable on Five are a bit rude but still make me laugh.
I've also been reliving Not The Nine O Clock News on Paramount 2 and even
George & Mildred which I am not quite old enough to remember first time
round! Its all very easy to set the Telewest TV Drive box and within a few
days there is 80 hours of stuff to watch!!
More D2B would be even better though!

Ta for the praise Jimbob :-)
It makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside and that's no bad thing.
Scott.
Hi all,
Just wondering what all you out there are watching nowadays.
Sadly there's no Top Gear, Look Around You, The Thick Of It, Dare To
Believe (obviously), Grumpy Old Men/Women, Mark Steel Lectures or much
else that tickles my fancy out there at the moment. The only reasons I
still have a telly in my house is for the football, repeats of Frasier
& Cheers and World Wildest Police Videos and as my girlfriend feels
the need to watch Most Haunted 6 days a week.
Let me know if there are any little gems out there that have passed me
by. It's all too possible with Sky!
Hope you're all well. New site's well on the path to completeion now
so keep an eye out.
Scott.

There was something on the telly the other day, Men In White, where a bunch o guys built some outrageous contraptions that were supposed to help a bunch of students keep their house clean. The contraptions were great: A jet-wash in a box for the washing up and a room sized radio controlled drop claw to tidy up the living room.
What got me going the most was that one of the Men In White said that the students would be "stoked". Is that now in normal parlance? Does it require "as a goat" to link it to D2B?
It would not surprise me at all if the people who made the show LIVED D2B, because these inventions were so over the top and impractical, they might as well have been badgerhods. Oh, and the washing machine was "at home on the kitchen table", which kinda says it all.
Have you ever unexpectedly found a D2B fan... ie. it was debatable whether
to attempt to bring up the subject of D2B to someone and you did do, and
were pleasantly surprised to find they are/were a fan??
I was at a football match a couple of weeks ago - Leigh RMI v Lancaster City
and was chatting to a newspaper reporter who was there, and it was a pretty
low quality match, even for the Conference North, and I said to him that I
hoped that they had someone better than the football coach who just said
"play football better in the 2nd half" - not expecting him to have any idea
what I was talking about, I was surprised to hear him reply that he
remembered Dare To Believe and he managed to quote some of the sketches
"Agua Moose" etc
I was impressed!!
Simon
The Children's Company are selling the Dare to Believe dvd again on
ebay, see http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Dare-To-Believe-Exclusive-Cult-Comedy-

If it has timed out check the seller to see if it's been relisted.
However it's still expensive, and I hear someone's going to release the
episodes on the internet soon. Some people have bought the dvds though,
that's a good sign.

Only that it's looking good. I'm loving the new agua-moose.com. Scott
thought it might be finished by the weekend. As you know I intend to
launch the new website and release my videos at the same time. My
videos are done, sat here on my desktop waiting to be uploaded. I'm
moving later this week, but if I get my internet set up quickly, you
can expect thing to happen soon.
jim
another quick update on the dare to believe petition thanks currently
going on, 156 people have signed the petition so far and i've had over
40 e-mails from fans of the show, its looking pretty good, and only
nine days left till i pass it on, to go to ITV.
any news on the new agua moose web page jim?

They are now ready. We're now finishing off a new agua-moose.com to be
launched at the same time. Look out for the announcement.
But in the meantime, there are now twice as many clips on YouTube as
I've now added clips from series 2. Look see

I agree, james is doing a bang up job with the release of the dare to
believe episodes, i can't wait to see them.
i got a little taster on my tube, quality clips and the picture and
sound quality is superb considering they are off vhs.
it will be good to see a decent dare to believe web site aswell, i was
really disappointed when the official web site shut down and sold out.
aguamoose should be awesome.
keep it up jim
and dare to believe!

you're set up.

I'm glad someone said it! :)
There will be more clips added to YouTube soon, and expect the d2b
video announcement by the end of the week.
Much Obliged,
jim.
I'm getting the internet hopefully at the start of October. It's a long walk to university to get it right now. As for my lady problems, funny you should mention those! When I spoke in passing about them with my landlord he informed me he's also a trained obseo-gynacologist, which I presume involves birdwatching.

James, thanks to you I am now the small bookcase. What an fantastic
collection. You've done yourself, and us, and the small bookcase, proud.
People, Jim has really gone to a massive effort here for DTB fans. You
cannot afford to miss this - it will not last forever.

Is this for UKNova? What happens is while you're downloading a
programme from UKNova (like d2b for example), you'll also be uploading
that programme to someone else at the same time. So you don't have to
upload anything new at all. All UKNova ask is for you to keep your
upload/download ratio at about 1.0 (or more).
When are you getting teh internets? I don't want anyone to miss out,
let me know if you have any problems. Unless it's female problems
because you should probably talk to someone else about that.
