MOVIE "THE DEVIL'S DAUGHTER" TOM HAPPER'S 1972 TV MOVIE "CRAWLSPACE"

Wild Eye Releasing's "TV Movie Horror Collection." Both "feature new
2007 transfers" and came out Oct. 15. They now are available from
retail outlets and amazon.com
Wild Eye liner notes: "The Devil's Daughter," starring Shelley
Winters, "fueled the public's fascination with Satanism flaming out
the all-American dream. (It) delivers a young woman into a nightmare
world when she learns her mother had promised her to Satan when she
was in infancy. Now of legal age, Lucifer has sent his earthly
minions to claim his property - and to make sure she is betrothed to
the demon of his choice." DS "offers a candle-burning, wind-rustling,
spooky time in front of the TV with the lights turned way, way down."
Jonathan (DS' Barnabas) stars as the mute servant "Mr. Howard." Abe
(DS' Ezra Braithwaite) plays "Alikhine." Jonathan is named and
pictured on the box front cover and Abe is pictured on the box back
cover.
Wild Eye liner notes: "Crawlspace" is a "real terror treat"
that "features a middle-aged couple accidentally discovering a young
homeless man living in their basement. Their initial fear turns to

they never had. But this newfound happiness soon turns to sheer
horror when the young man's violent past and appetite to kill come
out!"
Tom (DS' Jeremy Grimes) plays "Richard Atlec" and is named on the
front of the DVD box.
Wild Eye asks SG to let DS fans know these rare films provide an
opportunity for fans to enjoy the acting talents of Jonathan, Abe,
and Tom beyond their DS performances.

I've gotten some emails about the availability of this offering I initially
made shortly after the DS Festival in August. I have about 125 left and when
they are gone, they are gone. There are no plans to "press" any more copies.
Some fans have bought several copies in order to give them as gifts to other
fans for the holidays and as birthday gifts.

This reader's theater performance runs over an hour and was shot near the
stage, close up and in clear audio and video. You don't miss a thing.
Jonathan does his best to scare and amuse the lively audience he performs for
on
this DVD. It's a lot of fun and a treat for any real DS fan. Jonathan can
make
evil fun and his love of satire shines through on this wonderful collection
of short stories and personal musings.

If you want to snag a copy before they are gone, you can do so at paypal
using _redceltt@..._ (mailto:redceltt@...) . The cost of this DVD,
including shipping is $13.95.

If you prefer to mail me a payment, email me for details on how to do that.

You are ordering directly from the producer of this DVD so it comes with the
standard guarantee of satisfaction.

Thanks.

Nancy

Westchester Marriott Hotel in Tarrytown, New York, on August 17-18,
2007. The convention celebrated the four-decade anniversary of his
first appearance as Barnabas Collins. Also participating in the
event were several of Frid's female co-stars: Lara Parker
(Angelique), Kathryn Leigh Scott (Maggie/Josette), Marie Wallace
(Eve), Betsy Durkin (Victoria Winters #2), and Diana Millay (Laura
Collins). DS Sound Engineer Henry Plimack provided invaluable expert
technical advice and assistance.
Highlights of the weekend included a pair of onstage appearances by
Jonathan. One session spotlighted some of his favourite DS episode
scenes, interlaced with his reminiscences and commentary about the
scenes, his colleagues, and his interpretation of Barnabas. Jonathan
also presented a selection of dramatic readings live and in 2 video
screenings, featuring literary pieces by Stephen King, Edgar Allen
Poe, Groucho Marx, and others. In addition, Jonathan answered
questions from the audience.
The festivities were capped with a Saturday evening banquet. A 30-
minute video tribute called "Frid's 40th," compiled specifically for
the banquet event, included interviews with Jonathan, DS creator Dan
Curtis, director Lela Swift, and John Karlen. Jonathan was seen in
DS clips with Kathryn, Lara, Joan Bennett, Alexandra Moltke, and
Jerry Lacy. There also was archival footage of Jonathan on "The Merv
Griffin Show," "What's My Line," "Generation Gap," and DS promos for
ABC from the DS era, plus a DS pledge drive promo Jonathan did for
PBS' New Jersey Network in the 1980s. (This video is not available
for sale.) Lara, Kathryn, Marie, and Henry shared their own personal
tributes and Jonathan graciously thanked everyone for attending and
for welcoming him with such warmth. Each fan attending the banquet
received a commemorative autographed photo of Jonathan as Barnabas.
Throughout the convention, our lady guests were autographing, posing
for pictures, and talking with the fans. Each also was onstage to
answer questions and talk about her projects and career. Friday's
day trip took fans to nearby Lyndhurst Estate, filming location for
the 2 DS movies. Those movies - "House of Dark Shadows" (1970)
and "Night of Dark Shadows" (1971) - screened on Sat. evening.
The upcoming SG #112 print issue will highlight the Fest with
details and photos. That issue also will feature the latest
confirmed plans and news for our annual DS Festival event in 2008.
Early information follows.

ages: "Engaged 20-somethings worried about maintaining monogamy;
married 30-somethings worried about conceiving; and married-with-
children 40-somethings worried about everything." David and
Jane, "married 43 years, seem worried about nothing and have an
exquisite conjugal relationship." It is "created, produced, written,

Hi there, Dark Shadows Message Board Family!
I was listening to the radio this morning.
Good news! There's a tv

private investigator who also happens to be
undead (as in VAMPIRE undead)!
The tv show's title is MOONLIGHT.
I believe the show follows
GHOST WHISPERER, creating a
pleasant evening of tv viewing! Make
yourself a big bowl of popcorn, grab
the brandy decanter, and curl up
for some hauntingly good tv fun!
I'm sooooo excited & happy! ---Luv, Bo

skull, moths flutter about -- swish swish swish. Amazingly, the
words I read do NOT register.

Huh?.... 'DEPP?'
--THE Depp?
As in... 'Johnny' Depp?!

-- My bleary peeps return for a second read-thru.

-- "Depp."

-- "Depp plus Dark Shadows..."

Like a thunderbolt of lightning, bah-ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZAP-PUH, the
light bulb within my noggin' illuminates!

Me peeps pop outta me noggin', BOING! I fall off my chair! Like a
mega-hit from a caffeinated cup o' java, I'm awake! ALIVE! AND, on
my feet! I grab the spinning seat of my office chair, plop back
down, and take another look-see! DEPP! OBSESSED with Dark
Shadows! Barnabas! Oh my gosh!

This is GRRRRRREAT NEWS! I'm THRILLED!

Hello, Dark Shadows Fan,

ShadowGram (SG), The Official Newsletter & News Source for Dark
Shadows (DS), announces the following just-breaking news.

**** JOHNNY DEPP'S PRODUCTION COMPANY & GK FILMS PLAN TO DEVELOP NEW
DARK SHADOWS MOVIE FOR WARNER BROTHERS

Daily Variety will publish the following article in tomorrow's (July
27) edition:

Depp lights up 'Dark Shadows' Graham King to produce Warner feature
By Michael Fleming

Johnny Depp is getting in touch with his inner vampire.

Warner Bros. is teaming with Depp's Infinitum-Nihil and Graham
King's GK Films to develop a feature based on the '60s daytime
supernatural sudser "Dark Shadows."

Depp has said in interviews that he has always been obsessed
with "Dark Shadows" and had, as a child, wanted to be Barnabas
Collins, the vampire patriarch of the series. The role was
originated by Jonathan Frid.

A rights deal just closed with the estate of Dan Curtis, the
producer/director who created the soap that aired weekdays on ABC,
from 1966 to 1971. Depp and King will produce with David Kennedy,
who ran Dan Curtis Prods. until Curtis died last year of a brain
tumor. Infinitum-Nihil's Christi Dembrowski served as the point
person on the deal.

Over 1,225 episodes, "Dark Shadows" was a highly atmospheric, spooky
soap that featured gothic horror staples like vampires, monsters,
witches, werewolves, ghosts and zombies. The show has a continuing
rabid fan base that populates Dark Shadows Festival conventions.

Numerous TV revivals of the series and pic adaptations have been
attempted over the years but none with as high-wattage a star as
Depp.

Depp, who is coming off "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End"
and who just wrapped the Tim Burton-directed "Sweeney Todd," is next
expected to star in "Shantaram," a Mira Nair-directed adaptation of
the Gregory David Roberts novel that Depp, King and Plan B are
producing for Warner Bros. Depp, King and WB are also mobilizing to
make a film about the life of Alexander Litvinenko, with Depp poised
to play the former KGB agent, who was fatally poisoned.

**** SHADOWGRAM NOTE:

Johnny Depp's company and Dan Curtis Productions have been in
discussion for several years about the possibility of teaming for a
Dark Shadows film. The development of a script, which will now
begin, can take months and sometimes years. But hopefully, the
process will run smoothly with the possibility that filming could
begin as early as 2008, though even in a best-case scenario a
finished film may not appear before 2009. It is also much too early
to speculate on any further casting ideas, though there is a hope
that some original DS actors may be utilized in some capacity.

ShadowGram will follow-up with further developments in coming print
and online editions.

WOW! Lots of good DS news! -- especially the 'hope' of DS re-runs
returning to tv! I plan on visiting the CHILLER tv station SOON.
(I wouldn't mind what time or day of the week DS eps ran -- I'd tape
them -- as long as they're shared in tv-land once again.) Also, I'm
writing on my calendar TMC's Joan Bennett film marathon mid-August!
What a treat! Thanks for the updates! :-)

Hello, Dark Shadows Fan,

ShadowGram (SG), The Official Newsletter & News Source for Dark
Shadows (DS), announces the following breaking news.

***** POSSIBLE NEW CABLE TV NETWORK HOME FOR ORIGINAL EPISODES

Fans are urged to join the campaign to help bring the original DS
back to TV.

The Sci-Fi Channel successfully re-aired DS in the 1990s and into the
early 2000s. SG print newsletter issues published during that time
thoroughly reported and detailed Sci Fi's 4 broadcast runs of DS.

Now fans are asked to be part of the grassroots effort to help bring
DS back to television on the new Chiller cable television channel,
available via digital and satellite services.

It is requested that fans contact Chiller by posting thoughtful and
encouraging requests on the Chiller TV website message boards, asking
them to air DS reruns. Please visit:
http://boards.nbcuni.com/chillertv/

You also can write postal-mail letters requesting DS be carried on
the network's programming schedule. Send your letters of support to:
Chiller TV Programming Department, NBC Universal, 30 Rockefeller
Plaza, New York, NY 10112.

Please act now - don't delay!

SG will report any confirmed developments.

Hey nice looking place Bobo, I hear that it's smaller than it looks.
Probably cold and drafty, (some very cold spots) impossible to heat.
Might have to put up with some very strange, even harmful situations. I
think I could probably handle a little plasma on the carpet. I would
want the doctor to check my heart before I moved in, and my personality
when I moved out. If you do decide to purchase the place, please let me
know, I promise I will come visit, very briefly, and in the daylight
hours only.
I don't understand why anyone would want that place? I really hate to
think of the torment that took place there, I'm sure some of it's still
around. I wouldn't want the deed to that place, if I lived on the
moon.
Bobo I'm glad your holding down the old fort, I really enjoy getting
the mail, some pleasent, some sad, but that's life I guess.
I'll have to stop back later!

Dracula's castle is for sale!

(Got a hundred and thirty-five million?!$)

Certainly our favorite vampire, Barnabas

Collins, is completely happy at the Old

House. As the saying goes, "there's no

place like home."

Dracula's castle is for sale!
(Got a hundred and thirty-five million?!$)

Certainly our favorite vampire, Barnabas
Collins, is completely happy at the Old
House. As the saying goes, "there's no
place like home."

Jonathan has been trying to get rid of stuff he doesn't want for a long
time. He discovered he has DS stuff and was talked into selling it rather
than
simply throw it out. Proceeds go towards maintenance of the website at
_http://www.jonathanfrid.com_ (http://www.jonathanfrid.com) . So check out what
Jonathan is looking to get rid of at his ebay store.

Delurking for just a moment.....

Those of you that were participants of my other DS message boards
know that our little brown dog Buddy has had a lot of health problems
over the last 3 or 4 years.

He recently got very, very sick but this time he didn't make it. He
died Thursday May 17th, 2007. He had his 10th birthday Dec. 30. He
was a Pomeranian.

I know all of your thoughts and prayers helped little Buddy to live
as long as he did. Thanks a million for doing that.

I created a folder called "Dogs" and put a picture of Buddy and Teddy
there. Click on the pic to make it larger. They were about a year old
when that picture was taken.

Teddy seems to be doing fine.

You can still email me anytime but I don't know when I'll get around
to reading and replying to them.

R.I.P. little Buddy ...................................

Tim

My sincere condolences to you and the family, Tim.

As a pet owner myself, I understand how you're feeling right now.

Thanks for posting the pictorial tribute to Buddy.
