Re: DS Revival Series DVDs

Hello, Terry!

Welcome back! It's so good to hear from you again!

I'm sorry that the Revival Series wasn't your cup of tea. I've
never actually seen it myself (I don't care for remakes in general).
Most fans are divided about the series on the whole, but they
unanimously despise Jim Fyfe's buffoonish Willie.

What did you think of Joanna Going's Victoria though? Most people I
know even prefer her to Alexandra Moltke. I understand there are
also some changes in the 1790 storyline (e.g. Josette looks like
Vicki, not Maggie; Barnabas and Jeremiah are brothers). What was
your opinion about those?

I hear that in Season 2, if there had been one, David's mother Laura
would have returned and we would discover she was really an
incarnation of Angelique. Also, I think the guy who played Joe
Haskell was supposed to play Quentin.

The NBC executive (Warren Littlefield?) eventually came to regret
cancelling DS and approached Curtis about making a series of TV
movies to continue the story, but Curtis wasn't interested. Do you
think he made the right choice?

Hey Professor: Thanks for your comments! I watched the series with an open mind and sort of "went with the flow". The casting wasn't bad, but the writing and...
