"Moving Up" is BACK!!!
When did this happen? I just happened upon it when checking out Doug's
IMDb for something else. Looks like it came back last week and it's on
after "Trading Spaces" on Saturday nights. Doug was on both of the last
two TS's too. I've been loving the new take on TS... where they're going
for the emotional angle with the HO's... and it's so great to have Paige
back. I missed the first MU, but last night's is being re-run later in
the week. It's great to see Doug back on a regular basis!

Hi there!
This is by no means a spam. I'm a member of the group; although just a
lurker... I have a design blog that covers terrific design websites,
consumer reviews, lots of pictures, and design tips.
I started decor8 because I enjoy writing about fresh new design trends
and tips, and because my clients and friends kept proding me to do it
(I'm an Interior Design consultant). They're always saying
I should document all the resources I come across and share them with
others. My blog is how I do that. I hope you all will read it, and
enjoy it. :) Under each item I've posted, there's a "comments" link.
Please feel free to leave comments on the blog - it helps promote
interaction amongst readers and a spirit of community, which is what
I'd like to see more of.
If you own a product or design store, or you have some good ones in
mind that you'd like for me to feature, please let me know. My
features are complementary, of course. It's also terrific exposure,
I currently have quite a large number of readers based throughout the
United States.
Thank you all!!!

I didn't think anyone was bickering.
I think he's hot, but when it comes down to it, it's all about the design.
I'd love to have him do my house. Most of the decorating I've done has been
with his influence in mind. I'd really love to do Venetian plaster... but
I'm afraid I'll screw it up.

You know this is really getting bad about sex and flirtation. Yes we
can all drool over him but we are loosing sight of the love for
design. If you want to fantasize him being gay go fo it and if you
want to fantasize him straight go for it. Who cares but you. We can
all have a fantasy. If you want to track him down to find out for
real that is up to you but please stop this bickering no matter what
we still love him. Kathy

Hi all
Just a head's up to share info. Doug will be on TLC 3 hours on
saturday the 14th. The morning TS show. If I read correctly, it should
be the "nipple" show that he taped in Montreal Canada. Then there's
Moving Up & he's on TS saturday night night. Now all I need to do is
look for a blank tape to record all 3 shows.
Enjoy.
Patt
You know Harold, he could have sex with Men & Women because he likes
havings sex with men and women...
Wendy
You say bi, well that means he has sex with men and women for cover up.
Harold
>>>>"AND" We can still have our own PRIVATE fantasies about Doug,
whichever way we think he plays. <<<<
That was the point I was trying to get Harold to see. Thank you. I'm
relieved it wasn't lost to everyone.
Unbelievable! I have watched & read the exchanges, whether Doug is gay or not,
in disbelief. I'm sorry Harold wouldn't just let it go. Good grief! It just
doesn't matter if Doug is or not, nor is it anybody's business. I've had gay &
straight friends, that just HAD to be right with THEIR opinions & observations,
no matter what. Everyone is, however, entitled to believe whatever they choose,
but NOT the right to shove it down people's throats! ( Un-intentional pun,
really! ) I hope we all can now move on with discussions like, gee, Doug as a
DESIGNER. "AND" We can still have our own PRIVATE fantasies about Doug,
whichever way we think he plays.

Patt,
Just agree that you aren't gay and don't have gaydar so you are probably not
going to see it. You are beating a dead horse to death. You sound like a
person who has to have the last word in any arugment and I have a life. My
opinion is that Doug is gay, did your small mind get that my opinion so drop it.
I am politely trying to tell you want I think without get nasty and telling you
what I really think of you. Something tells me that you don't have many
friends. Your personality has to rub every body the wrong way. I feel sorry
for you. Have you ever sought pschyriatic help? I think it would help you.

For one, I don't have balls & if I did they would not be in an uproar. I'm not
angry. Just trying to see your point as well as get mine across.
The way I am reading what you, Harold, have writed, so you can correct me if
I'm wrong, is that it has boiled down to a contest. The group that has the most
people in it wins. I never thought of my sexual preference as being a contest
that has to be won by somebody.
I never thought any one job, be it design, like Doug, or a RN, or welder as
defining one's sexual preference. The question I guess I need answered is what
makes you think Doug is gay? What signs does he give off that makes you think he
is gay? I must be missing something? Because I don't see any signs. I see a
human being.

My question is this: If I just get on with my life & feel that what I do in my
bedroom is my business & not yours. That I don't answer you question if I gay.
If at the age of 53, not married, no boyfriend, in your book that makes me gay?
What if I am bi, what is it to you? How is being bi a cover up? Don't you
believe a person can be bi-sexual? I guess I just don't understand.

I answered your first post the same way I answered the second one:
No, no one knows. You then came back and insisted he must be, because
he's divorced and you're divorced. And you just *never know* about
these things. *winkwink*
I think Doug could let slip with a video of a sexual encounter with a
woman, and all his gay fans would say, "Oh, he's just doing that
because he's in denial." Like it's not enough that he dates women --
we've seen him make out with two women on Trading Spaces, fercrissakes
-- he's divorced from a woman, he flirts incessently with women. But
none of that matters to gay men.
What I'm trying to say as a straight woman and a fan of his, is that
it really matters little to me if he is gay, because that doesn't make
him unsexy, and I never, ever, ever will have sex with the man anyway.
So if you have a crush on him, crush on him whether he's gay or not.
He seems to enjoy the attention.

It would surprise you the number of guys that are married or married and divorce
with children who are gay.
I wish I could say that I would be surprised at the number of men & women who
were/are in the situation you describe. But all I have to do is read to find
that out. So no it does not surprise me.
I guess I will never understand why so much is placed on who you share your
life/have sex with be it with a man or a woman. On my list of how I describe
myself who I have sex/have a relationship with is so far down on the list I have
to turn pages to find it. It is not 1st on the list. I'm very comfortable with
who I am & who I have sex/have a relationship with has nothing to do with that.
Who I have sex/have a relationship with does not define or describe me as a
person.
I'm sure there are people who are gay who feel the same way I do. They don't
make a big deal out of it. They just go on with their lives & let the chips fall
where they may. To them it's normal & that's the way they are treated by people.
Isn't that how you want to be treated, as a normal human being?
EX: I'm fat. Not just a little but about 150 to 200 lb's fat. At this moment
in time that's normal for me. I may never get all the fat all the way off. But
if I don't make a big deal out of the fact that I'm fat, just do what I have to
do to lose what I can & just get on with my life, only the people who have
problems, will have a problem with my being fat & I don't have to deal with them
if I don't want to. I'm not going to get the whole world to like me. I just have
to get me to like me.

doesn't hamper my enjoyment of him or his work at all.

You're not telling me nothin' I haven't heard before when it comes to
Doug and his sexual orientation. There is a gray area most people
fail to consider.
Your question was if anyone knows if he is gay. The answer is no, no
one knows but Doug, and he's not telling. All evidence points to a
love of women, but who knows, maybe it's both.

Well I was gay when I got married and it last 25 yrs. It would surprise you the
number of guys that are married or married and divorce with children who are
gay. They don't want to come out so they get married. They think it helps them
hide in the closet as society treats them so bad and for professional

Doug does do fundraisers for the Humane Society in Champaign. He and
Hildi both have appeared at the annual Fetching Ball and/or donated
items for their silent auction.
Hi gang,
I'm new to the posting business. But I thought I'd give you all a heads
up on a news alert I got on Doug. If any of you can find the Jan issue
of Decorating Spaces. Doug is this months Expert in the asking
questions on decorating column. The issue is on sale till the 19th I
believe. I've got my copy. It's a couple of pages long.
