Hi gang,

just letting you all know that the website for Donna's upcoming movie Bad Day has now been launched at http://www.baddaythemovie.co.uk/ and has some pretty good stills from the film, as well as the trailer in a variety of formats (see links below) including high-definition versions.

Direct links to the trailer:

http://www.baddaythemovie.co.uk/_Trailers/Bad%20Day%20trailer%202_QT%20lo.mov
http://www.baddaythemovie.co.uk/_Trailers/Bad%20Day%20trailer%202_QT%20med.mov

http://www.baddaythemovie.co.uk/_Trailers/Bad%20Day%20trailer%202_HD1080.mov

But be warned, the last link is in the HD 1080p format and is a fairly hefty 69Mb download - one for the broadband users!

Meanwhile, our own exclusive shot of Donna's Bad Day screen test is still available via the news page at http://www.donnaair.co.uk/news/111206.htm along with coverage of an interview by the News of the World with a Bad Day crew member.

Enjoy the links, and stay tuned to http://www.donnaair.co.uk/ for any future developments.

Best wishes,

Bob Bardsley.

PS Big thanks go out to Jason for pointing out that the site had gone live!

While our own pictures of Donna are scaled to fit on screen and to allow for fast downloading, at DACU we understand the desire for high-resolution images, to use as desktop backgrounds, home-made posters etc. So we've found a couple of the best places online for free photos of the Geordie starlet - and no, we're not on commission for this!

Probably the best site is www.celebritypictures.com - you may recognise the name, they provided the rather nice pics used by the News of the World in their article about Donna's upcoming movie Bad Day. On their own site, they have a decent collection of photos  of Donna, many of which are at quite impressive resolution. The Sony Radio Academy Awards shots at the top seem to have come straight from the photographer's digital camera, while the entire third row (Donna in leather, some of which are in black and white) also delivers the goods.

Our favourite shots on the page include the pics from the Sunday Express magazine, in which Donna appears to have glued her hand to her head (nice cleavage in the cover shot though!), and a welcome appearance of the soapy carwashing pic which, while it so often appears with a page fold down the middle, is uninterrupted here. Still looking for a good excuse to use that one on the donnaair.co.uk site!

Another good source of images of all celebs is theplace.ru - but it can require a bit of detective work as the site is in Russian! Luckily celebs are named in English on the vast archive page, and Donna's own section is at http://www.theplace.ru/archive/gallery.php?id=849.

While the selection is fairly limited and many of the images have appeared in magazines over the years, the cover photo from the Mail on Sunday's You magazine has always been among our favourites as Donna just looks so damn pretty in it!

So hopefully we've provided you with a few higher resolution images to quench your thirst - but please do keep coming back to DACU for the most complete referenced source of images of Donna online, and if you have any requests for new pictures to be added (we do sometimes miss appearances in Sunday papers etc) drop us a line at requests@... and we'll get on the trail of the relevant publication!

Best wishes, and don't forget to put your clocks forwards!

Bobble Bardsley.

Greetings all,

well it's a while since the last DACU update and while we, as usual,
are having problems with our web host (currently can't add anything
new to the site and are looking for an alternative and more reliable
host), Donna's going from strength to strength.

In an online poll to coincide with Mothers' Day, internet magazine
Lycos XY asked its readers to vote for their favourite 'yummy
mummy'. Donna ranked sixth in the poll, beating global superstar
Gwen Stefani into seventh place. Curiously, Anna Friel actually came
top, proving that not-quite-A-list Brit celebs who've been out of
the limelight for a few years still have a following. Not that we're
arguing - Anna Friel is definitely high on our lists too.

As for Donna, it's soon to be a case of The Mummy Returns (check out
the Donna-related pun) as she's soon to hit the big screen in Bad
Day, on the trail of revenge-seeking renegade cop Claire Goose. Take
a look at the news page on the site for an exclusive screen test
shot of Donna, and we'll send out the latest details as they come in.

Although every time we fix one problem another one appears, we at
DACU are of course committed to keeping you all in the picture -
following the Lycos XY poll, hits to the site increased by half
overnight, proving we're still the first port of call for many
Donnabes. This fact hasn't escaped us, and we'll be looking to
improve the service asap.

The good news is, as traffic does increase (and as Donna returns to
the media) there's a good chance that advertising revenue will go
up, meaning we have more to spend on a more reliable service -
remember, we don't make a profit from the site, so any incoming
funds are used to improve things for you all.

This is all getting a bit wordy, so I'll draw things to a close -
just wanted to let you all know we're still here, and will be for
the foreseeable future.

Thanks for the support,

Bobble Bardsley.

Greetings all,

the eagle-eyed among you may have noticed the news page is being
updated more often than ever before - now you can find the latest on
each of Donna's areas of interest, from her charity work through to
acting and presenting, plus any news about Aspers casino etc.

This new push to keep up-to-date with news is still in the early
stages, but it comes with a new in-house system which displays new
headlines much faster than before and automatically updates the
headline on the main page at http://www.donnaair.co.uk/ so you can
see straight away if there's a new article.

We're trying to get things sorted for Donna's return to the
limelight - following her appearances on Richard & Judy and Nick Jr
and with a new film due out in 2007, we're expecting to have plenty
to report in the near future.

As always, let us know if you have an opinion or if you encounter
any problems accessing the news feed, and we'll try and get things
fixed asap.

Best wishes,

Well, it's a slightly belated happy birthday for DACU, but we're
officially eight years old! And before anyone says they've checked
the Wayback Archive and there's nothing before 2000... that may be
true, but we did exist before then, just not on www.donnaair.co.uk
for the first two years.

Anyway, it's been eight years and we're going strong. The adverts on
some pages are helping to pay the server costs, so many thanks to
anyone who's clicked on them - don't go clicking just to make us
money though, hopefully there are some things of interest on there
that you'll actually want to go and look at.

In return we're trying to increase the frequency of updates,
initially by adding news stories more often. We're trying to focus
on the points of interest that aren't quite big enough or long-term
enough to get onto the main site, as the news feed is a handy way to
include those stories and gives you something quick to read if you
just want an update. We're also working on a custom xml translator
too, so the headlines fit better with the overall style of the site.

Speaking of which, the CSS styles are still being added to existing
pages on the site, although there's a lot there to reformat so it's
taking a while. Hopefully this is a long-term solution so once it's
done the site will look basically the same for quite a while. We're
still keen to know what you all think of it - those of you who have
bothered to sign up to the mailing list are obviously the priority
for us!

And to the man from Fishworks in Chelsea: I'm not Donna Air and I've
never been near Fishworks in Chelsea. I definitely didn't run away
without paying on November 9th. Judging by Damian Aspinall's bank
balance, I really doubt that Donna Air did either!

Best Wishes to all,
Bobble Bardsley.

So we're still pushing the organic thing, for the next 2 weeks - it
means a lot to Donna, and it's always wise to be a bit more healthy.
Today's update looks at another topic close to Donna's heart -
Fairtrade, how it fits into the organic world, and how to choose
between the two.

Okay, it may be the dullest headline of all time, but September 2nd-
17th is 'Organic Fortnight', and it's something Donna's really
excited about, so all us Donnabes should be getting excited too.
Here at DACU we're pretty excited for a couple of reasons:

1) The Soil Association web site (http://www.soilassociation.org/)
has an interview with Donna as well as some VERY high-res pics, the
first decent photos of Donna since... well, probably since Freya was
born.

2) We've got some great features coming up, including interviews
with some of the exhibitors from Organic Festivals around the
country, showing that going organic is more than just about what you
eat.

For starters - and for a slightly smaller version of those high-res
pics (we know some of you are on dial-up!) - visit the DACU news
page, or if your server's not caught up with our news feed yet, you
can visit the Organic Fortnight page directly at
http://www.donnaair.co.uk/news/org2006.htm

Come on troops, let's go organic!!

As the new update continues to roll out, recent changes include:

- Much more detailed entries for some articles, including Byker
Grove and Truth or Dare. The new CSS layout allows for navigation
links so you can skip straight to the section you're interested in
(for example, you can now access brief profiles of Donna's co-stars
without having to scroll down to the bottom of the page by hand).

- 'Spoilers' are now hidden - that is, if a review contains
information which gives away the end of a film etc, a simple script
has been added to hide this information unless you click to show it,
or click its shortcut on the menu mentioned above.

- On the picture pages, we're working hard to improve image quality.
Many of the early pictures were scanned by us in a time when .gif
was the main internet image format; this has resulted in flat-
looking images with greyed-out contrast and, due to gifs' 256-colour
limit, often we chose to paint out backgrounds with a single colour.
Now, through a combination of web-based research and manual
rescanning, we're trying to replace those early images with higher
quality true-colour jpegs. Some of the very early images may take a
while (the 2nd Sky Magazine photo, which I like to call 'the
arsecheek shot', seems to only be online in different versions of
our original scan, so we'll be needing to rescan that one at some
point). Please be patient!

We'd love any feedback you might want to give - even if it's just to
tell us to stop emailing so often! As the update continues, would
you like us to keep you informed, or would you prefer to discover
newly updated pages as you browse the site? And would you prefer us
to focus on developing existing pages, such as the Byker Grove
article, or on adding new content, even where that content might be
quite brief due to a lack of available information? Please let us
know!

In the meantime, thanks again for your continued support, and we all
hope the new features help you to find what you're looking for each
and every time you need your Air-fix (see what I did there??).

Best Wishes,
Bob Bardsley.

Work has begun on DACU Version 8.0, incorporating CSS and attempting
to fix the awkward and unwieldy image slideshows.

The main page at http://www.donnaair.co.uk/index.html has been given a
new look, although it's likely to change before the update is complete.

The FHM gallery is the first of the picture pages to be overhauled.
Visit http://www.donnaair.co.uk/pictures/fhm/slideshow.html to see the
new style we're trialling. The new picture format does require both
CSS and Java - if you're on XP, you'll have to choose to 'allow active
content' from the information bar in Internet Explorer. We think it's
worth it, as it keeps everything on one page with no slow-loading
frames.

As this update continues, expect more detailed content on the Articles
pages, a generally more sleek appearance as the CSS styling expands,
and a change from .html to .htm extensions, just to tidy things up a
little.

Please, please, let us know what you think, either by replying to the
Yahoo! Group or in private to update8@...

Please tell us especially if you have any problems viewing the new
design, as we've been unable as yet to test it on a Mac or on PC
browsers other than Internet Explorer.

Thanks again for your continued interest in the site, and rest assured
that there will be new content in this update and not just another
redesign of the same old stuff! In fact, a big part of what we're
doing is aimed at freeing up some server space for new files. Keep
watching for more - we'll let you know first.

Best Wishes,
Bobble Bardsley.

Hi all,

well it's been a while, but it's time for an update - and, finally,
there are a few things worth mentioning! Perhaps, after her 27th
birthday on August 2nd, Donna's ready for a new start?

1. Donna on Richard & Judy
--------------------------

Some of you may have noticed Donna reviewing one of Richard and
Judy's 'summer reads' on their Channel 4 show. If you missed it,
don't worry, we'll be adding it as a movie very shortly.

2. Donna in 'Sunday', today's News of the World
-----------------------------------------------

An intriguing 3-page interview with Donna about life in general,
oddly combined with an advertisement for Debenham's clothes. We'll
be adding the article to DACU soon; in the meantime, you may still
have time to find a copy of the NOTW today! It's worth noting, this
kind of article, and the kind of appearance as on Richard & Judy is
just what we'd expect to see before a career relaunch, not to
mention that the hiatus Donna spoke of taking after Freya's birth
could reasonably be ending in the near future.

3. Donna in filming?
--------------------

DACU have heard rumours that pre-production has started on a movie
for which Donna has been cast as one of the lead roles. We were also
sent a still image of Donna's screentest which certainly looked
recent. The movie's own website has yet to go live, and we are
reluctant to release any further details until it has been
confirmed, but coupled with the general-interest appearances Donna
has been making, this could be an indication of an imminent return
to the showbiz world, beginning with a starring role.

4. DACU Updates - Another Apology
---------------------------------

Finally, yet another apology for the lack of updates to the main
DACU site. This time, having sorted out our previous hosting
problems, we have been overwhelmed by spam - it seems a number of
Brazilian companies are using donnaair.co.uk as their 'reply'
address, so we're receiving in excess of a few hundred 'mail
undelivered' automated responses every day. This in turn takes up
space on the server, which must be cleared before any files can be
added to the site itself. Whilst we believe that the problem has now
been solved, it seems wise to take this chance to redesign the site
to use CSS. In this way the overall size of the site, and with it
the download time of each page, may be reduced. Also, we're keen to
replace the buggy (and actually fairly annoying) slideshow system of
the picture pages with something more accessible. Hopefully these
changes, and the new content described above, will be in place for
any comeback Donna may have planned.

Thanks again for your continued support - the viewing figures for
the site are still high, and we are trying to resolve all the issues
we've had in order to respond with a site of the standard you all
deserve. Rest assured that the Yahoo group (and, with it, this
mailing list) will remain the first place to hear of any news
relating to both Donna and the DACU site itself.

Best Wishes,
Bobble Bardsley.

And happy birthday Donna!

Hey folks,

first update in a while and it's nothing major, but take a look in
the 'files' section of the Yahoo! Group for a few vid clips of Donna
in various acting roles. You'll need a PC running Windows to play
the clips, but you don't need DivX or Xvid or anything like that.
More clips coming soon, hopefully.

And if you like the look of any of them, visit
http://www.donnaair.co.uk/merchandise.html where we've listed links
to buy her TV and movie appearances in a range of formats from two
of the most respected online retailers, Amazon and Kelkoo - and
where possible, we've linked to both so you can shop for the best
deal. Plus the commission will help us to keep DACU up and running.

Okay, sorry for the shameless advertising, enjoy the vid clips (if
you can play them - let me know if you can't and I'll try to make
different formats available).

Hey Airheads,

it's an exciting time for DACU at the moment, even if Donna's having
some time out of the limelight! We've teamed up with artist Darren
Baker (see www.seventhwavecreations.com) to make sure you don't
forget what she looks like; he's offering you first choice of his
limited edition Donna prints, from an original sketch of Donna in a
suitable sexy pose.

For more details follow the link from the DACU homepage at
www.donnaair.co.uk, but hurry as supplies are strictly limited and
orders are already being accepted from the general public. There may
be other sketches available at some point, but don't miss this
chance to own one of the low-numbered prints of this first (and

Any queries or to order, do not reply to this email, instead send to

Keep smiling, she'll be back on your screens soon!

This weekend, look out for The Scotsman, the Scottish newspaper also

Hey there Donnabes,

first of all, welcome to our new members. Viewing figures for the
site are on the increase since we got everything back online, and
it's great to see people signing up to the mailing list too. Let's
hope Donna and baby Freya are back in the limelight soon so we have
more news for you!

Speaking of Freya, it's about time there were a few pictures of her
on the site - look out this week for the article and photoshoot from
November's OK! Magazine, finally being uploaded to the DACU site.
Let's hope they don't complain about copyright, or it may have to be
taken down again. My advice is to see it soon, if you missed the
magazine itself!

Apart from that there are few changes being made. You may notice the
introduction of adverts on the site - these are a scheme we are
trialling with Google, and will only be placed on the index pages,
and only at the bottom where they shouldn't get in the way. Feel
free to click on them if you see something you like!

There are of course running updates going on all the time, cosmetic
changes being made and rewriting of HTML so the site loads faster,
even though it may look identical. So don't worry, if you visit
twice and nothing has changed, we've probably just been busy behind
the scenes.

Thank you all again for your support, I appreciate it and I know
Donna does too. Together we can keep her name being mentioned, and
sooner or later she'll be back on our screens.

Stay happy!

From Bobble.

PS Please don't be tempted to quit the mailing list because of a few
spam notices, we're doing our best to deal with it but the only
alternatives are total moderation of posts to the list, or making it
a members-only list, which is not really the DACU philosophy. Any
suggestions are more than welcome. Thanks again.

Hey guys,

work is underway on the new updates for the site, those of you who
pay attention may have spotted a few new articles already; pictures
are going online any day now.

In the meantime, we're curious to know your thoughts about a
possible DACU book; specifically, whether any of you would be
interested in a Donna Air biography, or whether there'd be more
interest in getting the DACU visitors involved. A collection of fan
fiction, or poetry, or even artwork, would be great. As always, we
want you to get involved, so any ideas or contributions would be
gratefully received, and if it all falls through I promise all
contributions will be posted on the site at the very least.
Remember, Donna knows we're here so there'd be a decent chance of
her seeing your work, if you get involved.

Please please please tell your friends about DACU, we're eager to
get the viewing figures back up after our time away. Let's see if we
can hit the big 100k before the 6th birthday this October, eh? By
old standards it's a breeze, but times are hard since Donna stepped
out of the limelight. Not to worry though, she'll be back.

Thanks again for still being out there, hope to hear from you. Mail
to this group is public, or you can mail me direct (and privately)
via the site. bob@... or bob@... will both
reach me, or you can add me on MSN (clivesbignight@...) or
Yahoo (clivesbignight) messengers.

Keep up the support, and we'll keep up the updates. Thanks again,
Bobble Bardsley, Editor.

Yep folks, we're back with a new server which should allow better
content and more frequent updates. The old site has been resurrected
with a few additions including the full text of Donna's thankyou
letter to DACU. More pictures are going online soon, and the
articles section is now growing on a daily basis. Look out too for
the return of some non-Donna content (by request), including a get-
to-know-you page about me, your editor-in-chief!

DACU can't survive without your help, so spread the word that we're
back in town, submit the URL (http://www.donnaair.co.uk/) to any
celebrity site listings that you come across, sign the guestbook,
start posting to the group (and so to the mailing list) and just get
involved! This time we really mean business, let's see what we can
do to really get DACU off the ground.

Your editor and friend,
Bob Bardsley.

The hardcore fans among you may have noticed DACU's disappearance a
few days ago, replaced by a rather unfriendly notice from
FreeNetName about a breach of regulations; this is a mistake, when
it came time to renew our ownership of the domain, FreeNetName's
login page wouldn't work. We are working with FreeNetName to solve
the problem and get the site reactivated, and should hopefully be
able to update with all of the old content and some new in the very
near future.

On a slightly lighter note, all the staff here would like to wish
Donna a very happy 24th birthday for today!

Keep up the support, it's appreciated every day.

Bobble.

This morning (June 5th) DACU received a beautiful signed photo of
Donna with a letter from Donna herself thanking us for all of our
support - DACU is a community, and with our 100,000th hit
approaching, I'd like to thank all of you who keep coming back and
making this site into something a little bit special. I'm sure Donna
would thank you each personally if she could.

I'd like to publicly thank Donna too - DACU has never returned a
profit in any form, although it was never meant to, but it's nice to
have something to show for all of the effort and a small fortune in
internet bills which have been poured into the site so far.

I know there have been few updates recently; apart from The Club, we
are not aware of much that Donna's done since we last updated a few
months ago, which is to be expected since motherhood looms large on
the horizon for her. Despite this, we are working on ways to
introduce new content to the site, and should be updating (albeit on
a rather small scale) in the not-too-distant future.

Both Damian and the baby are in good health, and Donna certainly
seems in high spirits. So thank you all again, from me and from
Donna. We wouldn't be here without you.

Bobble Bardsley.

Bun in the Oven

Donna's pregnant to 41 year old boyfriend Damian Aspinall. After
rumours of marriage and pregnancy, it was confirmed this week that,
if all goes well, the couple will have their first baby together in
September.

Donna and Damian are reportedly delighted at the news, and it seems
they are taking parenthood seriously already; Donna has been spotted
out and about drinking just mineral water and avoiding cigarettes
altogether!

Pregnancy will apparently not affect Donna's TV & film
commitments; 'The One And Only' had its worldwide premiere in
Newcastle last week, with Donna listed on the credits, while her new
nightclub-based reality TV show 'The Club' will be on ITV1 in the
very near future, good news for those of you unable to see Donna
since she's been consigned to the more obscure digital satellite
channels.

DACU will of course be following the pregnancy as well as Donna's
career, and we will let you know of any developments as they happen.

Thanks again for your support.

Bob.

David Birkitt, managing agent of Z photographic in New York, e-
mailed regarding the GQ pictures. It seems GQ don't actually own the
pictures - John Midgely, the photographer, does. So by using the
pictures on the DACU site, we're breaking copyright laws. The upshot
of it is, we've had to remove the pictures.

The link now takes you directly to the GQ slideshow of the same
pictures, so to the viewer there is little difference. It just seems
a shame that Z are entitled to charge us $1200 for 6 months use of
the images, when I'm sure Donna probably doesn't see a cut of that
fee. I wonder if she's seen any cash apart from her original fee for
appearing in GQ?

But don't go boycotting Z or GQ - these are just personal opinions &
I might be wrong, so if you boycott them I'll probably get sued! I
just thought I'd let you know why the link has changed.

Regards go to David Birkitt for letting us sort this out - he could
theoretically have taken DACU to court and shut us down pretty
easily. Cheers David.

As always, our commitment remains to you, the viewer. We offered to
do a profile on John Midgely, as we received an e-mail asking about
him a few weeks ago, but Z weren't interested. Just another way in
which the free wealth of information which we call the internet has
turned out to be not quite so free as it might be.
