Hello, everybody,
I am a new member here, my first language is not English, and I
just watched the entire Buffy/Angel series (except the last episode)
on DVD, (yes, I know I am really out of date) so I have been
wondering if I am even entitled to write anything here...
I am so much moved by the way Wesley developed (is this a
correct expression?) during the course of the seasons, and I have
been fascinated by the character and the actor. I truly
enjoyed "Angel" because of Wesley. And I really wished that Fred and
he would be.... So when I saw the episodes concerning the matter, I
was so happy and then got so heartbroken. Everything was so
beautifully done, so all the more I felt sad. (Somewhere on the
internet, I had learned what's become of Wesley in the final episode,
and I do not have the heart to watch it yet. I watched other
episodes again and again, but I just can't proceed to the last one
yet.)
By the commentary for the episode "A Hole in the World," I
learned that the story Wesley was reading to Fred was "A Little
Princess." I had read it (in my mother tongue) when I was very
little, but the name of the heroin was differently written/pronounced
(it was more like "sailor" without "r" at the end) so when I was
watching the episode, I did not know it was the story.
After I learned about this, I bought the book in English and
read it. The one I read in my childhood was an abridged version, and
I now felt that I had been deprived of the beauty and essence of the
story. It was such a moving beautiful story. And I wish there were
the audio book version read by Mr. Denisof.... ( I am so late in
watching and learning about Angel, so I am sure this has already been
talked about.)
I wonder if my writing even makes sense to you, but I just
wanted to express how I felt. If you have been kind enough to read
this so far, thank you very much for your patience.
