Yeah, Don. Until I hear that we have a sax player who has a name - rather than
"new guy" - I'll assume it's someone from the temp agency.

Well, Takuma Sato of Rahal-Letterman made a gutsy (but questionable) move on the
final lap that could have won the Indy 500. It dropped him to 17th following a
crash - 2 spots ahead of R-L teammate Michel Jourdain, Jr. 2nd and 19th would
have been better, but, no guts no glory.

(I just gritted my teeth when he made the move. I'd have been stunned if he was
able to hold that one together.)

Every time we go to St. Andrews, we travel through this wee town called
Auchtermuchty. Every time we do, it reminds me of the time The Proclaimers were
on Letterman in 1989. He could barely understand a word they saying!

The interview begins at just after the 4:00 mark.

Funnily enough, we were also in Leith last weekend.

Nice to see a Scot win the Indy!

Thanks so much, Alex. Truly a great, great song. And everyone was
soooooooooooooo young - Dave, Paul, Anton, but especially Will and Sid. World's
Most Dangerous Band indeed. Absolute bad-asses.

Wish I could go to St. Andrews through Auchtermuchty. Maybe some day.

Thanks again.

Mika Brzezinski(Morning Joe)
Macy Gray(CD, "Covered")

Friday, June 1

A friend of mine asked me yesterday if I'd seen Tuesday's show. He said he'd
missed it, but had seen Michelle Obama's Top Ten List on "The Today Show"
yesterday morning.

If "The Today Show" can rebroadcast the Top Ten, then why can't Dave use
anything from the "Late Show" days, and why can't he show the finish of The
Derby?

Someone ought to sue.

Thanks Todd,
I really enjoyed that. It was even nice to officially learn how little direct
participation Dave has in the show prep. I remember the days when he would stay
and critique every show immeditely after and how he simply can't do the kind of
show like he did 25 years ago when remote segments were a regular feature.
It'salso nice that Dave returns the favor to loyal friends of the show, A couple
o weeks ago he sat down with Regis on CNN.

CBS is trying to make inroads with the coveted "people who can't be
bothered changing the channel once they turn the TV on again"
demographic....

I've always wanted to meet Rufus and Martha's grandfather. BTW, I will always
think of Cranston as Tim Whatley, dentist, porn mag supplier, regifter and
possessor of total joke-telling immunity.

We will have great musical guests each night.

It was ironic seeing Martha Wainright singing with her dad last night. I recall
several years back when Rufus was the musical guest and his mom, Kate, backed
him up.

Don't recall seeing Rufus with his dad, nor Martha with her mom. Could be but I
don't recall it.
