Just wish it had been the QE2 instead of rattle trap Artemis. LOL!
Cunard are determined to stop me being Meg on the QE2. Can't stand
where she did because of those damn Zodiac life rafts. Don't have a
band on the quayside. Can't have Jill sobbing because the public are
banned. Don't have Tony on his boat to see me off. How cruel are
they? LOL! I have one more chance before the ship leaves for good so
they better come up with the goods. ;)
By the way, isn't the 11th November (the day the QE2 leaves for Dubai)
the same day Meg sailed away?
Patsy
I can't believe I keep forgetting to post this from May. http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=-7288079127392979593&q=artemis+magwa&ei=I66ASN2_C4uOigLC4NCpCw My friend Pam's video and if you go 1 minute 7 in you'll see what I mean. I became quite emotional at the time, thinking of Meg and how Nolly is no longer with us then in November the QE2 won't be. Just wish I could have the moment ON the QE2 but P&O is the only one to still have the band. Cunard started having rousing music blaring through the speakers this year during sailaway such as Land of Hope and Glory but it's not the same. I want to pretend to be Meg!!!
Jeff is on the ITC VHS, just having attacked Doris Luke.
I like his "you old bag" comment to her. Lucky it wasn't Tish he tried
to attack, she'd have given him a good what for.
They think it could be a radio soap?
There were 12 or so short 'sitcom' episodes made last year for Isle Of
Wight radio.
Starred Tony Adams, Jane Rossington, Shaw Taylor and Geoffrey Hughes
to name a few.
Shona Lindsay, who played Sara in Crossroads Kings Oak will be

I haven't bought any of the Archive DVD's yet as I bought the original
Network DVD release but In am tempted. I;m not so interested in the
really early stuff, more mid 70's / early 80's. Can anyone who has
bought them tell me what you think? I am sure I will end up investing
in them anyway ...
Paul Henry to play Tony Hancock for Birmingham's Maverick Theatre
Exclusive, By Jon Griffin, Business Editor

BENNY is to make a comeback - in the legendary shoes of Birmingham's
best-known comedian Tony Hancock. Paul Henry, the actor behind the loveable
simpleton who became a Crossroads star, will be in the spotlight again as
tortured genius Hancock.
The Aston-born former TV actor, who has suffered heartache in his own life
including losing his teenage daughter in a road crash, is reviving his
career to play the comic who committed suicide at the age of just 44 in a
Sydney hotel room.
Paul has agreed to star as Hancock in a 25-year-old play being re-adapted
for modern audiences by not-for-profit Birmingham production company,
Maverick Theatre.
Hancock's Finest Hour will tour Britain in around 18 months' time, with Paul
taking to the stage in his biggest theatre role for years.
Maverick Theatre artistic director Nick Hennegan said the tiny Birmingham
company had bought the worldwide rights to the play, written by actor Colin
Bennett, for five years.
"I am hoping that this will put Paul back in the spotlight. It's going to be
a unique production and we would like to kick it off in Birmingham," said
Nick.
"The play is set around Hancock's dressing room while he waits to go on for
a TV appearance with interviewer John Freeman. There is a lot of pathos and
sadness but it is also very funny.
"It's a fairly tall order for Paul - it's only a three-hander and runs the
whole gamut of Hancock's life.
"It's a big part and a difficult part but I think it's also the perfect
Birmingham dream team with Paul as Hancock."
Like Hancock, Paul Henry, now in his 60s, has suffered a troubled life, with
the biggest blow the death of his 18-year-old daughter Justine in a road
crash in the late 1980s.
His luxury home in Barnt Green, near Bromsgrove, was later repossessed after
he racked up debts of more than £400,000 following the axing of Benny from
Crossroads.
He had gone from earning £100,000 a year to nothing, but rebuilt his life
with his wife Sheila with pub and bar ventures in the West Midlands and
occasional TV work.
Nick added: "I can't speak for Paul, but I know he was devastated by the
death of his daughter.
"But he's still a really strong actor and I am hoping that with the Hancock
play, we will really create a big event.
"This will be his biggest theatre role for years. It is going to be touring
all the major towns and cities in the UK for a 16-week run."
Nick added: "Paul has started learning his lines already .
"I really hope this is going to put him back on the centre stage
nationally."
Nick is now on the lookout for sponsorship for the play.
"I am hoping that we can find a Birmingham company who can stump up some
sponsorship. This is a unique opportunity."
