HI TISH,
So glad I discovered this site. Been a Crossroads fan since I was a wee
boy of five or six!
I remember you...vaguely...yes, glamorous indeed...I also 'sort of'
remember the odd reference to a 'Bunty and Phil'...sounds like a circus
double-act, but hey, what do I know? I WAS only SIX AT THE TIME!
Do you know, my FIRST ever real 'memory' of Crossroads was around the
age of five and a half/six circa 1975...I remember seeing the first
episode that I really took notice of...it made me cry, I remember it
distinctly! The ep. was so emotive.
It involved poor old Amy Turtle ending up homeless, and spending the
night at a Salvation Army hostel!
It made such an impact on me. I was hooked from then one, quickly
warming to all the other great characters, too...though I never did
quite 'warm' to Mr Smoothie David Hunter...always just that 'bit'
slippery...hmmm...still, he mellowed a bit, once married to the lovely
Barbara.
What was your first memory of Crossroads, Tish?
And I hope you like my cunning plan to get a 'Crossroads Hotel'
MENTIONED 'casually' in the other Midlands soap, Doctors...getting the
Beeb to buy that one might be tough, but you never know...they MIGHT,
just to wind-up ITV! :)
BIG WARM THOUGHTS,
Mark.
