I just found this site online and thought I would just say Hi. I hope
everyone is doing well, as it has been a while since I have seen or
heard from many of you.

Missy and I are doing well and just recently celebrated our 6 year
anniversary. We are still going dancing occasionally, but time is
limiting that. No kids to speak of, other than the dogs, but the new
house is absorbing most of our time. We still live in Knoxville and see
a few of the CD regulars from time to time.

I look forward to finding out how everyone has been doing. It seems
there are quite a few of the regulars on this site, so everyone please
speak up!!!!!

Great to hear from you Josh! I just now read some of the others' letters and
was glad to see a message from several I hadn't heard from in a while. I don't
use this yahoo address very much, so sometimes it's a month before I check it.

I've written before and mentioned how much I appreciate everyone's
correspondence and well wishes. Just ran into a couple fans about two weeks ago
who asked about the show; and commented like several of you did that they
'really miss it'!

I've been quite busy with work, grandkids (baby-sit in Lincoln every Saturday)
- and sometimes I go get them, then bring them back. Makes for a busy week-end.
Also working on projects .... lots of them. The latest is transferring all my
VHS tapes to DVD! I just finished the 10 tapes "I" took of my adventures there.
You can't imagine how much fun it was to see them while recording!! Going to
take a long time to accomplish this; as I'm also tfr'ing my personal VHS films
that I've taken since graduation. I had the first ones all put to VHS, and now
I'm tfr'ing all them to DVD. Is there going to be a better technology soon that
will say I must tfr the DVD to 'something else'!! Now, the big quest will be
to tfr all the Club Dance tapes I have. Will I live that long? :)

Back to my projects. Hi to everyone who reads these messages. Take care -
and wish for warmer weather in Nebraska! :)

Anyone who wants to can use my regular e-mail address: ldbrainard@...
   THANKS!

   Doni

I have 'a lot' of the tapes, and I'm in the process of tfr'ing them to DVD;
however, I have to watch each show while tfr'ing it, and plan on cutting the
commercials. Since I work FT, I won't be able to re-copy any of them; however,
if you ever find someone who could copy DVD to DVD, please let me know. I have
been transferring my movies/videos I've taken since 1962, and it is so much fun
reliving those days. I have lots more to go; but the older ones are done. Some
of the first ones I tfr'd were the ones "I" took while living in Knoxville.
Some of them had candid shots of 'behind the scenes' at Club Dance. I must
admit, it was like 'heaven' seeing all those people again, and knowing what was
going on. I treasure those films, as many of them had "Hi Doni" while I was
taping.

The Club Dance ones will take a long time as I have several totes, and each
tote has 6 hrs of shows on them. I always said it was going to be something to
do 'as I get older' and there's nothing else to do.

I'm also trying to pick out some very important parts of it and put it all on
one DVD to send to some friends.

I wish this all didn't take so long, but .....................

I started at the bottom of list of e-mail in Yahoo, so I don't know what the
result was in the most recent e-mail.

If I can be of further assistance, please let me know!
   Thanks!

Hi La Donna!

My name is Jo Anne Stephens and I have never been on Cllub Dance, but a lady I
knew at Denim and Diamonds in Kansas City, named Mary was quite a bit. She
would drive down for a long weekend and be on the show when they taped it, I
believe on Mondays. She was about 5' tall and had very bleached blond hair. I
loved Club Dance and was so upset when they took off the air.

What I am really writing about is that I am interested in learning how to
transfer VHS, video tapes, etc onto CD. I am a very "young 60", but have
nothing else to do but work, dance and kids are grown, etc. I would be
interested in knowing what equipment is necessary to have. I am pretty good at
the computer, but not up on all of the latest electronic gadgets. I do have a
DVD player, lol!. I thought maybe that would be something interesting to learn
(rather than pay Walgreens to transfer to onto DVD or CD. Would you care to
correspond with me and get acquainted and maybe help me with this?

Again, I loved Club Dance and used to dance 4 or 5 nights a week. Got skinny,
Quit, got fat and now am trying to dance it off again. Unfortunately, we only
have 3 Country dance clubs in K.C. and they are scattered far and wide. One is
30 mile across town. The other 17 miles and another right in the middle of
yuppie club district. There are so many people who love to dance, but just not
enough clubs, plenty of country radio stations, but no clubs.

I am going to the Ozark Dance Festival in Osage Beach Mo. June 29, 30th and
July 1st. That is where I see a lot of people I used to dance with. It is at
the Tan-Tar-A Resort. Registration is under $50.00. Lots of classes, and night
entertainment.

Anyway, back to work. But, I had signed up for the Club Dance Fan Club
several years ago and I get all the e-mails. Of course, I don't know anyone
personally, but I sure loved Club Dance.

   Hope to hear from you.

I have been transferring my movies/videos I've taken since 1962, and it is so
much fun reliving those days. I have lots more to go; but the older ones are
done. Some of the first ones I tfr'd were the ones "I" took while living in
Knoxville. Some of them had candid shots of 'behind the scenes' at Club Dance. I
must admit, it was like 'heaven' seeing all those people again, and knowing what
was going on. I treasure those films, as many of them had "Hi Doni" while I was
taping.

The Club Dance ones will take a long time as I have several totes, and each tote
has 6 hrs of shows on them. I always said it was going to be something to do 'as

I'm also trying to pick out some very important parts of it and put it all on

Jo,
My name is Joe and I used to work on the show. Pardon my interruption, but
the easiest way to do this would be to purchase a DVD Recorder/Player from
Walmart for $89 - $99. Then just hook up your VHS player into the input on the
DVD recorder/Player and start recording. I use both my computer and a DVD
recorder/player and to be honest, the recorder/player is so easy that even my
kids record their own shows and such onto DVD.

It's not totally free, but it is in my opinion, the easiest way to do it -
especially if you have a lot of them to do.

   I hope this helps.

My name is Jo Anne Stephens and I have never been on Cllub Dance, but a lady I
knew at Denim and Diamonds in Kansas City, named Mary was quite a bit. She would
drive down for a long weekend and be on the show when they taped it, I believe
on Mondays. She was about 5' tall and had very bleached blond hair. I loved Club
Dance and was so upset when they took off the air.

What I am really writing about is that I am interested in learning how to
transfer VHS, video tapes, etc onto CD. I am a very "young 60", but have nothing
else to do but work, dance and kids are grown, etc. I would be interested in
knowing what equipment is necessary to have. I am pretty good at the computer,
but not up on all of the latest electronic gadgets. I do have a DVD player,
lol!. I thought maybe that would be something interesting to learn (rather than
pay Walgreens to transfer to onto DVD or CD. Would you care to correspond with
me and get acquainted and maybe help me with this?

Again, I loved Club Dance and used to dance 4 or 5 nights a week. Got skinny,
Quit, got fat and now am trying to dance it off again. Unfortunately, we only
have 3 Country dance clubs in K.C. and they are scattered far and wide. One is
30 mile across town. The other 17 miles and another right in the middle of
yuppie club district. There are so many people who love to dance, but just not
enough clubs, plenty of country radio stations, but no clubs.

Jo Stephens:
I never received your message below, other than attached to Butch's message.
In order to convert VHS tapes to DVD, you have to have a machine that does
that. I purchased mine at Best Buy. It's expensive (depends on your
interpretation of expensive) and you have to have the time to 'sit and watch'
while recording; and if you ever get the opportunity to do this, you will
understand why.

Please check out the machines at Best Buy, any furniture/digital store, or
such, getting all the information and prices you need and go from there.

   Good luck!
I've had a lot of fun transfering mine, however, it had to be put on hold for
a while because of Spring taking over. Then I like to do things outside.
