I just heard on the TV that the board of directors for VUE,
recommend that they hold exclusive talks with GE (NBC unit), for the
tv production/distribution/syndication, movie
production/distribution, cable networks (would add Sci-Fi, Trio, and
NewsWorld International which is, a joint venture of VUE and CBC),
and theme parks (although Universal Studios Florida and it's sister
parks CityWalk, Islands Of Adventure, and Wet And Wild Orlando are a
joint venture with Rank Group).

I just heard that in my local station KCOP 13 is showing a block of 4
DIC shows even though there isn't any 80s shows I was expecting. But
they have some logos besides The Increable World of DIC.

Stargate Infinity with The MGM Television Distribution
Sherlock Homes in the 22nd Century with the Tribune Entertainment.
*Mummies Alive! also with the Tribune Entertainment.
Super Sumo Dumos with just a DIC logo.
Of course I could be wrong about that.

Note: Mummies Alive was originally from Claster Television
Productions so I was expecting to see that logo with the 1996 jingle.
But with there block, it was definely replaced by Tribune
Entertainment 1996 logo.

BTW, Does Tribune Entertainment have anything to do with the two DIC
shows?

Tribune recently licensed the DiC library for syndication. Claster
distributed Mummies Alive in its initial syndication run (Claster also
handled a bunch of non-Hasbro 'toons incuding Muppet Babies and Reboot),but
distribution switched to Bohbot Entertainment/BKN for its later rerun cycles.

I highly recommend that site. You'll also see quite a few old CBS logos, too.
Interestingly, at the end of some of the soap videos, a different logo appears:
The CBS eye is in the center of the screen, with the familiar old cloud background. But there's also a message: "This program was previously recorded." For some reason whenever I see that, it always gives me a chill or two.

We shall see whether the logos survive on DVD soon. MwC's original logos survive
supposedly on the 2 compilation discs, and hopefully will on the Season 1 DVD
set
in October (this was the only season to use Embassy straight through; the logo
was abandoned in late 1987, so season 2's first episodes should have it, but
then switch to 80s torch lady [this is going by the network airings I possess]).
This will be an indication of what we can expect for other logo-carrying, Sony-
owned shows on DVD.

The Jeffersons season 9 (the first season to have the Embassy logo) won't be
out for several years.

Which reminds me, the landlady woke up from a dream the other day.

I was trying to work one of those new digital-cable boxes like she
has, but on this OLD, like early 70's, floor-model TV.

The picture was noticeably off center, but that wasn't as puzzling
as the 70's-era CBS network logo that was on it!

When All In The Family had their first syndication reruns from the original CBS
run, they used the Viacom's 'V of Doom' logo for several years before
Embassy bought the rights.

What ever happen to Bohbot Entertainment anyway? I remember their last

Not quite. Viacom had contracted the syndication rights to AITF for ten years
beginning in the 1978-79 seaon. They reverted to Columbia Pictures TV(and
Norman Lear's new Act III Communications company)in 1988.

I remember one particular RB live-action effort: The made-for-TV
1980 movie "The Ivory Ape", which starred "Guiding Light" alumna (and
later Ferris Bueller's mother) Cindy Pickett. The plot was rather

I caught some of the Bonanza-rama on TV Land this weekend and there's
been a change to the closing logo since it moved from PAX. Formerly
the Worldvision logo had been present, but since they and their
parent company Blockbuster Video were bought out be Viacom, the
Republic Pictures logo (which ironically is also now part of Viacom)
appears first, then the Paramount 1987 CGI Mountain (with music to
boot!).

Its parent company (in France, I believe) still exists, but from
what I understand, the American operation got into several serious
legal situations (one involved telecasting another cartoon show,
the idea for which was alleged to have been stolen) and had to be
closed down.

What was the cartoon? Given that a lot of them aren't
too original anyway...

"AJ's Time Travelers", based unwittingly on Diane Russomanno's
"Ricky Rocket" books. I don't think it aired in the UK or Europe; a
few episodes were on Fox before it migrated to Bohbot.

Don't know how many of you watch cartoons, or Nickelodeon, or
whatever. Those who have may have noticed the Frederator
Incorporated logo at the end of 3 of its shows (The Fairly
Oddparents, Chalk Zone, and My Life as a Teenage Robot).

Seems earlier on, it was a still logo with a red background. Not
much later, it changed to a still logo on a blue background. Now, it
was a rather unassuming logo. "The" was at the top of the
screen, "Presentation" at the bottom, with a green "Frederator
Incorporated," tilting slightly upwards to the right, in the middle.
No music, except for the end of the Chalk Zone or Fairly Oddparents
theme, played over the logo. Later on, though (late 2002), there was
a dramatic little change to the logo, one that frightened the pants
off me the first time I saw it...

MACHINE GUN FRENZY! The words "The" and "Presentation" are in place,
when a loud machine gun makes a circle of bullets, and when finished,
the words "Frederator Incorporated" BOOM! into place, in the middle
of the circle, with a woman, out of nowhere, screaming "Frederator!"
Screaming as in a loved one just got killed by a spray of machine gun
bullets. All the while, the end of the Fairly Oddparents or Teenage
Robot theme still plays during it all (for no apparent reason, Chalk
Zone episodes in this era use the Fairly Oddparents ending theme).

I don't know. Guess it'll grab a kid's attention, so they'll know
the logo. On the other hand, I can imagine many fleeing in terror
before the end logo comes on to get them. Scares me, and I'm an
adult!

A new classic series has the Paramount 1987 Jingle left intact and not
silent!

Bonanza does retain the Republic Pictures logo and the Paramount CGI
Mountain w/Viacom Byline and jingle follows.

And it seems that "I Dream of Jeannie" repeats on TV Land are the only
episodes with the SFH left intact...a local print of Jeannie deletes the SFH
and goes straight to the SPT logo.

I have seen that logo, on Nickelodeon's Oh Yeah Cartoons! (with the three

very
chessy especially with Frederator in a big metalic font.

follows the Spelling Television ID and is itself followed by the CGI

The same happened with the first three seasons of 7th Heaven prints
as well. Aaron Spelling might have had the prints sent down the
hallway to it's then sister company Worldvision to be printed for
international usage immediately or something like that. Then in
1999, Viacom purchased Spelling Entertainment and Worldvision and
after that only the Paramount mountain remains on prints of both 7th
Heaven and Charmed after the Spelling logo.

As I expected. With all due respect, Sony is not going to make
another new print just so people could see an old logo. And assuming
I can use the Enhanced Boxes as a dating device, the Gidget prints on
TVL have to be just 1-2 years old. The finale's print is even
younger, as it has the SPT International logo.

And with Bewitched and IDOJ, I have a feeling that the prints they're
using has had the SFH for quite some time. Maybe even the same ones
they had on Hallmark, albeit with the proper music restored. Only
the SPT was put over the Boxes (this might also explain why the Boxes
music appears on some of them)
