That's right: the power company that has "imagination at work" is selling 51% percent of the "more colorful" media company to the broadband company that inspired us to "dream big." In return, General Electric is set to buy the French-based Vivendi's 20% share. Quite frankly, I am as "proud as a peacock." Comcast tried to buy the Walt Disney Company back in 2004, but it never happened. More on this website: http://www.geek.com/articles/news/cable-wins-comcast-set-to-buy-nbc-20091116/

I found out after watching an episode from the Bob Eubanks era, that the Lorimar
logo is an in-credit animated logo over the camera shots of the set. That's
weird isn't it?

It strikes me funny to think of Lions Gate Entertainment as a potential owner of
MGM, but whoever buys it (Lions Gate, News Corporation, or even Time Warner, who
owns most of MGM's pre-1986 product), hopefully they will get MGM back on their
feet.

If either Time Warner, News Corp. or Lionsgate is interested in buying MGM, then
the Sony-led consortium will no longer own MGM. We'll find out whether MGM would
be shielded, searchlit or gated.

Well, on TV, Fangface and Thundarr have always kept the Filmways logo.

I think Plastic Man also removed the Filmways logo on the old Worldvision and
Kids Klassics video releases, but I'm not sure. (Some other Filmways-era R-S
specials like "Scruffy" had the Filmways logo removed on video).

Hi Ben,

The short answer is... none of the above.

The Rising R-S appears on all episodes, after which it just cuts to black. No
second logo follows.

Hi,

I have a question for all of you here who have just bought the "Plastic Man
Complete Collection" DVD: in the end credits (there should be a total of 19 end
sequences), were there this sequence of logos?

Sequence 1 - original: Ruby-Spears Productions "Rising R-S" (1978-81) followed
by Filmways "Trail" (1978-81)
Sequence 2 - early-mid 1980s syndication: Ruby-Spears Productions "Rising R-S"
followed by Worldvision Enterprises "Red Screen Radar Globe" (1974-88; 1982-87
subversion with "A Taft Company" byline)
Sequence 3 - late 1980s/early 1990s syndication: Ruby-Spears Productions "Rising
R-S" followed by Worldvision Enterprises "WHOOSH Globe" (1988-99; original 1988
version w/o byline)
Sequence 4 - Ruby-Spears Productions "Rising R-S" followed by Hanna-Barbera
"Action All-Stars" (1994-97)
Sequence 5 - Ruby-Spears Productions "Rising R-S" followed by Warner Bros.
Television Distribution (2003-date)

Please state your sequence number.

Thank you,

Thanks Andrew!

Having seen the three-roar restoration a number of times on YouTube, the only
question I have is this: Why is Metro still using the two-roar logo on their
films?

I dare say it's time to bring all three roars back where they rightfully belong!

V, there were actually two versions of CBS Enterprises on television. The former
was CBS Films before it was renamed Viacom in 1971. The other was a revival in
the 90s.

D.L.

People have had more than sufficient time to download files.....and some of those files have been there for quite a while. And there's more out there that people have that I'm certain they would be willing to put there quickly.

How about an extension to Wednesday?

People of The Closing Logo Group,

In regards to the recent cleanup announcement made only TODAY by James Stanley
Barr (who I'm particuarly addressing this announcement to), there needs to be
more time allowed to those who didn't get the Cleanup announcement within a span
of 24 hours.

So the deadline for people to download files from our Main CLG Sector will be
this coming Saturday, October 17 at 12:00 AM Midnight EST (US Time Zone). Be
sure to preserve those memories and important elements of our history and logo
history in general.

Get going, people, for once they're gone, they're gone...
until or unless a miracle allows us gather more of this history back home where
it belongs.

Remember, the deadline is THIS SATURDAY, and the declaration shall be abound.

Always Watching,
D.L. CHANDELL

Well....just a note to let you know that I'm still here.....just keeping busy with my life.  That and my nice little video archive has just been ruined due to a destructive force that pretty much totalled my 16GB flash drive that held my master files for the CLG, wiping out nearly a decade of material.

And from what people have been yelling at me....it's time for a cleanup of the CLG files section.  And this time, I intend to do a complete cleanup.  Please download any files by Monday night at 10PM ET.  As after that time, files dating before June 1, 2009 will be cleaned out to make room for newer material.

Any questions?  Then contact me off list.

...and this is no bull, either.

You see, I have been in touch with someone in the Marketing Department over at MGM, and he has shared with us the complete history of their famous logo, as well as an in-depth look at the recent restoration of the logo (which includes a few things that you may not have noticed beforehand).

I have obtained permission from the MGM employee to share this with the CLG, so here ya go!

Enjoy this goldmine!

Regarding that other link, the EUE Video Services logo appears to resemble the 1976-82 Columbia Pictures (Television) Sunburst logo.

Hi Gang,
Here is the latest video of Viacom logo history that I found which features the
only sighing of the V Of Doom in warp speed possibly from Gomer Pyle USMC. It
looks to be in b/w if the color did go out.
This is the way I see this logo and wonder others see a Viacom variant.
