As RADM Neigut points out looks like I got into a groove and included
all months in the schedule. Here is a corrected schedule that allows
for December off due to the holidays.
Monday, April 7th 2008 @ 2000hrs EST
Monday, June 2nd 2008 @ 2000hrs EST
Monday, August 4th @ 2000hrs EST
Monday, October 6th @ 2000hrs EST
Monday, November 3rd @ 2000hrs EST
DECEMBER HOLIDAY HIATUS
Monday, January 5th 2009 @ 2000hrs EST
If at any time this schedule runs afoul of the Main CDF Chat it will
be held the next night (Tuesday) at 2000hrs EST.
if what is posted below is the case, why have you scheduled a chat for EVERY month?
Rear Admiral Larry S. Neigut Chief Of Fleet Information CO, Battlestar Achilles BSR-39 75th Fighter Squadron, Achilles Heels Blackbird VRN S07151NJ “THE BISHOP” cdf_fleetinformation@...
In a message dated 3/31/2008 10:44:31 A.M. Eastern Daylight Time, mjolniractual@... writes:
Frequency, I am still convinced that every other month is the proper time frame for these meetings especially in light of all of the other chats that happen throughout the CDF
Well that took a bit longer than anticipated, scheduling to have the internet turned on was more of a ordeal than one would have expected. However I am good to go and I am back.
First I would like to thank Colonel Ferber and General McPherson for keeping a lid on this for me while I went through a major transition.
Good Work Gents.
Now on to business... as I am reading these posts on preferences I am noticing that for most of us week days seem to be much better than weekends. That is more than understandable. However the majority of what I am reading seems to favor the early part of the week and that I can whole heartedly agree with.
One thing I have to say is that I still am committed to making this chat as all inclusive as possible, as stated before the template for these chats has never been strictly based on Fleet, Membership Type, or CDF Position. It has always been and will remain open to everyone who wishes to attend.
That being said, one of the major problems for me has been the time frame. A 2100hrs start time was originally adopted to facilitate those who wish to attend and who were on PAC time etc. For us who are residents of the 7th Fleet that means that it required us to be up until later and they have in the past made it a little bit harder to get up for work @ Oh Dark:30 the next day. The new start time for the 7th Fleet Chats will be at 2000hrs EST. I know that it's an hour shift back and that will make it more difficult for those in other time zones to attend but I have to think of us here in the 7th and make sure that we are served best by our chat schedule.
Now a subject on duration of the chat. The Official length of each chat will be 1 hour. (2000 - 2100hrs) After that hour has elapsed people are more than free to come and go as they need to as we will try to handle all of the "business" during that hour as best we can so that the remaining time can be devoted to more of a networking and fellowship time, and thus be much more "informal".
Frequency, I am still convinced that every other month is the proper time frame for these meetings especially in light of all of the other chats that happen throughout the CDF that we will also be attending either in part or as a whole. This is also re-enforces my stance that the 7th Fleet is not, I repeat NOT the 8th BSR in this fleet, and that it should not in any way take away or supplant chapter level endeavors and activities. Those of you who are structured like the Mjolnir is meet monthly already and that is the monthly meeting of greatest import. Those of you who run a more virtual template meet as often as you send around a mass e-mail, or if you choose you are conducting your own chat sessions that will again be more fruitful endeavors for your chapter.
So with out any further ado here is the 2008 7th Fleet Chat Schedule:
Monday, April 7th 2008 @ 2000hrs EST
Monday, May 5th 2008 @ 2000hrs EST
Monday, June 2nd 2008 @ 2000hrs EST
Monday, July 7th 2008 @ 2000hrs EST
Monday, August 4th @ 2000hrs EST
Monday, September 1st @ 2000hrs EST
Monday, October 6th @ 2000hrs EST
Monday, November 3rd @ 2000hrs EST
DECEMBER HOLIDAY HIATUS
Monday, January 5th 2009 @ 2000hrs EST
If at any time this schedule runs afoul of the Main CDF Chat it will be held the next night (Tuesday) at 2000hrs EST.
I completely understand that this will work some months and will be harder to attend on others, I want to state here that this is not mandatory, make as many as you are able to. This should not become a chore or a burden and I do not expect anyone to feel that this chat is the rock that is pushing against real life's hard place.
Yahoo Admins going forward lets make all the proper arrangements so that automated reminders can go out to all registered members of this group. With notification 1 week and 1 day prior to the chat session.
Sorry for not signing and the spelling error.

And there aren't any brigades, either... I belong to too many of these
clubs and get them mixed up sometimes.
The problem here is that if I change any of the poll options, then the
poll will restart. If there is a need for a future poll, after this
one closes, then I'll change it then.
Also, in the future, please sign your emails.
