PHASE TWO of Operation Propaganda Commenced
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OPERATION PROPAGANDA PHASE TWO --- OPERATION PROPAGANDA PHASE TWO
My Fellow Colonials,
As many of you have seen Operation Propaganda (OP) has
started and is well underway. It will be a lengthy event, but well
worth it indeed since the journey will be made by all those wishing to
be a part of that. When i designed OP in my head and on on paper i was
very meticulous in the order i wanted to go in. I also took into
account many variables which ultimately affect it. Which brings me
here OP does in fact have a surprising side to it an IMPACTFUL side
which does touch the heart. I had envisioned Phase Two towards the end
in order to hold everyone in suspense as well as reach and make an
emotional connection with the show.
Yes i am aware many of you have come to know me and are
conscience i don't do anything unless it is truly worth while. Folks
this as i have done on other fronts have blown the lid on this event.
Once again going above and beyond my mandate. Over the course of a few
months a very small amount of people knew what was coming. When i say
small amount a total of 5 CDF members reason for sharing classified
information is simple. When i do anything it is based on the members
point of view. It is my first concern in any venture b/c you the
members are important to me. I also like listening to what members
have to say and apply those things unless they have already been tried
and failed. Based on that logic alone i have built my reputation not
just here in the CDF / Sci Fi Community, but out in my real life. I
hate making CDF Members wait there is no reason for it. Another reason
i offer help right on the spot, individual assistance no matter what
time it is, Schedule appointments around the members needs and the
list goes on. For me that is who i am b/c i choose to be that kind of
person and help without wanting anything in return.
I always say people have a secret agenda and they DO don't
kid yourselves. Who doesn't want to be a Fleet Admiral, Fleet CO, CDF
CAG and whatever title you might be after. Even i have a secret
agenda, but my secret is poorly kept b/c all of you see it all the
time. I have chosen to share my membership and everything i do with
all of you. Which brings me ever closer to OP Phase two. Phase Two is
for the CDF Chapters and its members serving onboard. It will also
effect individuals in the CDF Community about 63 members in all. I
wish i could honestly do more, but even i have constraints to some
extent. I have also done a video to address the CDF Community. I
request all Chapter Leaders pass the link onto every single member in
your chapters since its for all them to see and share in.
Colonials over the last few months in order to prepare for
OP Phase Two i have been purchasing and Battlestar Galactica Props
seen and used on the show. Yes from the show 15 Items in all photos
will be posted here on this thread as well as presented on the video
address. Out of the Batch i 15 i am keeping one item for my
collection. The rest of the Battlestar Galactica show Prop items will
be given FREELY AWAY to selected Chapters in the Fleet and HAND PICKED
individuals serving in the CDF. Yes Colonials you read correctly VADM
Rivera is giving away BSG Prop Collection to his fellow CDF Community
members. No it is NOT a joke, its not a stunt at all. In fact it is
simply my way of saying THANK YOU ALL for being very supportive over
the years to me. It is also my way of giving back to all those members
who joined for the right reason in order to carry on BSG. Finally also
for all those members who wish they can have a piece of the show, but
basically just can't afford it or their budgets are so tight b/c a
Family does come first along with everything else. My heart goes out
to you all it was another HUGE reason i did this. Everyone deserves
something so i did my best. Here is the small favor i ask in return
use these items as display when you go and recruit people at CONs.
Secondly please post a photo of you or you with your chapter members
with the BSG Prop and post it on this thread.
In making the video i got excited and made a mistake and
meant to say Doc Roberts from the Episode "3.14 The Woman King" and
accidentally said Doc Cottle, but the sentiment remains the same. Just
wanted to point that so when you see the video everyone is on the same
page. The Following Chapters and personnel will be receiving these
gifts from the heart as a token of my appreciation. Pictures located
towards end of thread.....~Salutes~

ATTENTION ALL 7TH FLEET PERSONNEL
The following Officers have been submitted for and approved to receive
7th Fleet Awards, the details for such are listed below.
CONGRATULATIONS to all of our fine members!!!!
Without further ado, here are the Honored:
Vadm. Miguel Rivera - Battlestar Aries
7th Fleet Helping Hands Award
Star of Honor
7th Command Commendation
For his untiring support in efforts to boost morale and activity in
the 7th Fleet
Ens. Christopher Allen - Battlestar Angel Styron
7th Fleet Operations Commendation
Helping Hands
For his efforts to assist in the establishment and planning of the 7th
Fleet Sims/Fiction List.
MAJ Jereomy Faber - Battlestar Aries
COMMAND MERIT
OPERATIONS COMMENDATION
CAMPAIGN RIBBON
MAJ Faber another 3 year member who joined the Aries upon her
launching. Faber is a dependable member of the Aries he attends every
CON and represents the Aries. When I say every CON I literally mean
every CON which is a big one attracting major numbers in people he is
there. His "can do" personality makes him a great candidate for this
award as he continues to grow. Though his father passed away last year
he regrouped where others may have shut down and never been heard of
again. Faber is the kind of Officer as well as Ybarra I would trust my
life in their hands. I have worked with them both these men are
exceptional without any reservations.
MAJ Robert Ybarra - Battlestar Aries
STAR OF HONOR
OPERATIONS COMMENDATION
CAMPAIGN RIBBON
MAJ Ybarra has been with the Aries since its launching. Making him a
member of 3 years and still going strong. He has done numerous
volunteer functions along with Faber, Gutierrez. Every year the Aries
does a MS Walk, Christmas Banquet and youth projects in order to
better children without homes who are wards of the courts. He has been
cited on several occasions by his own neighborhood community.
Presented with an award from the chairman of parks and recreations. He
also heads up the Aries paintball team which met every Sunday for all
out team building exercise. He has also been to every CON in his area
and recruited members for the CDF and 6th Fleet with outstanding
results. He has been an inspiration to his fellow chapter members
always called, “The Hombre” meaning, The Man. He is all about action
and getting it done in the best interest of the Aries.
LT Nikolas Manak - Battlestar Aries
7th Fleet Helping Hands
LT Manak is one of overseas members on the Aries. Though he is
dedicated to BSG as a loyal Sci Fi fan his greatest point is he
continue to recruit overseas in the UK. In hopes of getting more and
more members to join the CDF from his homeland. He has been on the
Aries nearly 2 years and though BSG has ended I quote him on saying,
“BSG is over, but I joined the Aries and as long as she stand then I
serve” In my eyes he may be overseas, but his heart is that of an
American. Though not able to attend CONs b/c of the great distance. He
has donated money to pay for supplies as well as Pay for one CON table
for the 2008 ALL CON. Again displaying his love for BSG and his
shipmates a true asset to the Aries and her fellow members.
LT Carter Hayes - Battlestar Aries
7th Service Achievement
An exceptional member with great potential. Though he is a novice Sci
Fi fan he continues to grow greater in his knowledge. Has also done
many hours of volunteer in his real life job. He has also been just as
a loyal member serving on board also going on 3 years.
SGTMAJ Jesse Gutierrez -Battlestar Aries
7th Fleet Helping Hands
CAMPAIGN RIBBON
He is a humanitarian at heart who give without thinking about himself.
He has committed over 3500 hours of community service, 1200 hours of
assisting and mentoring kids in the Big Brothers and Bog Sisters
program. Every December he dresses as Santa Clause for the kids in his
area as well as department since he works for the city in San Antonio.
He has attended every outing and CON Aries has attended a strong
representative and speaker of the Aries. Though serving as a Colonial
Marine in the CDF he also serve as an Officer of the law every day
giving back to the community he grew up in. A good friend and a loyal
BSG fan. Who is ready to serve and help his fellow Aries shipmates.
COL Mark Hanford - Battlestar Hades
STAR OF HONOR
COMMAND MERRITT
for his performance as Acting Fleet XO of the Seventh Fleet, as
Operations Officer of the Seventh Fleet, and as Commander, Battlestar
Hades. Mark has gone above and beyond in his positions within the
Seventh Fleet making it the only Fleet within the entirety of the CDF
that has updated the Octagon with current information on Fleet status.
He has been the watchdog of the Seventh Fleet by encouraging Chapter
Commanders to use a system of awards, that he designed, to benefit the
members of the Seventh Fleet. He has also kept all members of the
Seventh Fleet in the loop on important events occurring on the CCN for
those who don't make use of the system.
Commander Robert Mulvey
7th Command Commendation
For his tireless efforts to help make the 7th Fleet the best it can be.

In
no particular order, I will be visiting every chapter of the CDF. I
will not be physically visiting you of course. I hope to accomplish
this by the end of the year. While I am onboard your chapter, you will
become the Flag Ship of the CDF. You will be asked to be responsible
for various duties and assist me in those duties.
In turn, I
ask to be put to work :-) That's right, put me to work! Depending on
what I can do for your chapter at that time, organize an online
meeting, event, or various other task, I will be suited up and ready
for CAP.
It comes down to this. There is a line running down
the deck, and at the end of my tour some chapters will be on one side,
and some on the other. Good hunting, and please pay attention to this
thread. That is all for now.

Farewell Angel
« on: Today at 08:11:30 PM » Quote
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Admiral Merritt sits in her office at The Octagon. Boxes of paperwork,
belongings, awards, and pictures are surrounding her. She opens her
desk drawer to double check to see if she forgot anything. In the back
of the top drawer she sees a picture. It's folded in half and bent.
She takes it out and unfolds it. It is a picture of her, Admiral
Jenner, and Admiral Gastineau. It was taken the day all of them
graduated Flight School.
*Enter music "Farewell Apollo" from Season 4 soundtrack*
Admiral Merritt smiles and puts her hand over her mouth, and begins to
cry. Memories fill her heart, and thoughts of the past years at The
Octagon feel up the room.
Admiral Rivera appears in the door way. "Admiral, your Raptor is ready
to depart Picon. Your presence is required on the Flight Deck of The
Octagon hangar bay."
Admiral Merritt composes herself and says, 'Right right, I'm just
gathering a few things. " A brief pause..."I'm ready."
The doors to the hangor bay open. At once and all together, 1,000
Colonial soliders in formation and in dress uniform snap to attention.
Admiral Jenner steps foward. He announces, "Officers of the Fleet,
Admiral of the Colonial Forces, Admiral Alison Merritt Fleet
Communications...departing. Present...ARMS!"
Admiral Gastineau steps forward and begings to clap. The formation of
Colonial soliders begin to clap also. Admiral Merritt is in shock, and
begins to cry again. Hugs begin with her closest friends. When she
gets to Admiral Gastineau, he says "I'd always thought I'd be the
first to take these off." He hands her a shadow box with her wings,
the seal of the CDF, and an enscription that reads;
ADMIRAL ALISON "SNIPER" MERRITT
Forever An Angel
So Say We All
After a few moments, Commander Robert Mulvey stands at the Admiral's
side and salutes. I herby relive you Admiral. Admiral Merritt salutes
and says, "I stand relieved."

In the past few days I have received a few membership applications from current members who lost information, didn't renew within the window provided by the system or just didn't know that we have seperate pages for renewal and general application.
I want to clear up a few of these issues so I am not sending out e-mails welcoming members who have been here for a while.
The CDF requires a renewal of membership annually. The date is sent to you in the welcome packet and the month you joined the CDF is the third and fourth character of your Colonial Fleet Administration Number - 0702 - is an example of someone who joined in February 2007. Please take a moment to check your CFA number and see what month you joined.
That being said, the CDF renewal page (http://www.cdfcommand.com/core/global/tools/reenlist.html) has been setup by Admiral Jenner for renewing your membership on-line. The CFA number you looked up and the name you joined with are all you need. You can go to this page within the month you joined and renew anytime, anyday. If you are currently a member, this is one of two options to renew. If a screen pops up that says you are too early, then you have to wait a few days and try again. If it pops up and says you are too late, please contact me at cdf_depfltcomms@... with your name and CFA number and I will change the information manually.
Finally, the CDF application page is the last resort for members who have been gone from the CDF for greater than two months. If you feel you fit this catagory, please e-mail your former Chapter CO or me and I can look you up. If you are gone from the system, I will reply with a e-mail stating your need to apply again. If you are still in the system, I will e-mail you with that information.
I hope that this posting will cut down on the number of applications that I receive from current members. Please take a moment and contact your Chapter CO if you think you have a problem. They can always ask me if they don't know but please keep the Chain of Command intact.
Friends,
Here is a status report for the 7th Fleet covering the first 8 months of 2009.
Since 1-Jan-09 7th fleet has seen the arrival of 4 chapters, Gunstars
Seguin & Fenris and the Battlestars Aries and Hades. Seguin was
launched off the Battlestar Olympia and is part of BSG-77. Battlestar
Aries accompanied by Gunstar Fenris transferred in from the 6th Fleet,
with the BSG commanded by the CDF CAG and former 6th Fleet Actual,
Vadm. Miguel Rivera. Finishing the New Kid on the block round-up is
the Battlestar Hades who upgraded from a Gunstar assigned to 5th Fleet
to a full Battlestar.
Now unfortunately we also saw the departure of a few chapters. The
Battlestars Achilles, Guardian, Orion and sadly the Gunstar Seguin
have all decommissioned either disbanding or just leaving the CDF. We
wish all our former fellows well in their pursuits. Happily quite a
few decided to transfer to other chapters and continue being valued
members of our 7th Fleet family.
Let’s now look at some of the things we’ve added and accomplished so
far this year. We’ve seen the establishment and roll out of our 7th
Fleet Awards program, as a means to recognize our members in a more
local format than just with the existing CDF CAD awards program.
In case you were not aware we have a total of 8 awards for the Fleet
ranging from simple “Good Job” style to what is essentially Member of
the Year. We’ve added a basic list of the 7th Fleet awards below for
your easy reference. If there’s a member you feel should be recognized
for their efforts or actions just email the 7th Fleet Awards Director,
Col. Mark “Redjack” Hanford at: MarkeHanford@... simple identify
who you are, who you are recommending, what the individual has done
and what award you’ are nominating them for. Please understand that if
Command feels that the actions deserve a different award than
recommended they may adjust it to better fit the situation.
CDF 7th Fleet Awards
1. Star of Honor
This is the highest 7th Fleet award. This is issued only for truly
outstanding and unselfish efforts on behalf of the 7th Fleet. This can
be issued to any member, military or civilian.
2. Command Shield
This is a leadership award which is issued only to CO’s or XO’s whose
actions and efforts have brought their chapter and the 7th fleet into
a positive light.
3. Command Merritt
This award is issued to members who've taken the reigns in some format
that has brought their chapter and the 7th fleet into a positive
light.
4. Volunteer Award
This award is issued to members who've performed above & beyond by
voluntarily accepting extra work to benefit the chapter or the 7th
Fleet.
5. Service Achievement
This award is issued to members who volunteer to work on ship or 7th
fleet projects, conferences or Fleet events.
6. Helping Hands Awards
These awards are issued to those members who have selflessly
sacrificed their time and efforts to assist others.
7. Departmental Commendation
These awards are basically Commendations issued by the various Staff
Departments of the 7th Fleet. i.e.; Communication, Engineering,
Operations, CAG, Security/Marines, etc…..
8. Campaign Ribbons
These awards are issued for involvement in Conventions, Conferences,
events, recruiting drives etc...
Also this year we’ve seen a boost in information postings, that is
announcements from the CCN being cross posted to the main 7th Fleet
List to help ensure that the information reach the largest member base
possible. These announcements range from posts on changes in Fleet
status across the CDF to the release of The News Review on the CDF
website.
Attempts have been made to help coordinate possible get-togethers of
members at various Conventions across the Fleet and beyond. This
coupled with a general increase in member/member communications is the
cornerstone of an effort to help bring this Fleet a little closer
together and expand on the camaraderie which we see in the online
aspect of it.
This brings us to projects that are in the works and there are four of
these. The first two are related and they involve getting the 7th &
CDF back in touch with the Farpoint Convention people with the hopes
of securing meeting space once again, and then to open a dialogue with
the Shoreleave people with the hopes of getting similar treatment in
the form of a meeting room for the 7th & CDF to gather. This would be
a positive effort to gain the 7th & CDF more recognition as these are
2 of the major US East Coast Fan Run Conventions.
The third project is actually administrative in nature. It is the
complete reorganization of the 7th Fleet command structure to better
streamline it and provide for better accountability and information
flow. More on this new format as we move forward with it. But one
hallmark is that 7th Command will be actively seeking volunteers from
the general membership of the 7th. The posts will not be limited to
senior officers or such.
The final project that is in the works are efforts to begin planning
our more regional events in areas where multiple groups are clustered,
in essence create 7th Fleet Events. The effort at first is intended to
help improve communications and inter-chapter relations. All of this
is part of the ongoing effort by 7th Command to reenergize the 7th and
bring us together with a strong unity based on fun and common
friendship.
Will there be more plans and projects going forward? Yes, we in 7th
Command are here to serve the members of the 7th and are always open
to new ideas and suggestions on how we can best improve the members
experience here and maximize the enjoyment and camaraderie.
If you have any ideas or suggestion or comments, please do not
hesitate to pass them on up to us so that we can take a look at them
and see how and if we can respond? Remember what you put in is what
you get out, so let’s work together and see if we can’t get the good
times rolling again.
Thank you for your time and support.

Friends,
I've copied this from www.scifiwire.com re: a new SG-1 movie.
Enjoy!

Amanda Tapping: New Stargate SG-1 movie in works
Amanda Tapping says that a new Stargate SG-1 movie could begin
production later this year, as soon as the first season of Syfy's
upcoming SGU: Stargate Universe wraps.
"As far as I know, we may start in late fall or early winter this
year," Tapping said in an exclusive interview. "And I will slip back
into Sam Carter very nicely; I'm looking forward to it."
Martin Wood would again direct. "They asked me to direct the Stargate
SG-1 movie, and they are waiting until Universe is finished, and then,
of course, they ask me when I'm available," said Wood, who was also a
co-producer on Stargate SG-1 and a supervising producer on Atlantis,
as well as an executive producer, with Tapping, on Syfy's Sanctuary.
"Then that may get done by the end of the year. That's what everyone
is hoping, at least."
What about a new Stargate Atlantis movie? "Atlantis is still being
talked about for this year," Wood said. "Right now, I'm so far removed
from it, but they'll let me know, and I'm happy to do it."
The SG-1 movie is green-lighted, and the Atlantis film is in the
works, but both Wood and Tapping are already committed to the second
season of Sanctuary, which finished filming in July but still needs
work to be done. The first season's four-disc DVD set is coming out
next Tuesday.
Wood spoke this week from his car, driving to finish up sound editing
on season two of Sanctuary. He's eager to see Tapping put on Carter's
fatigues again.
"Samantha Carter is a very familiar mindset for Amanda, so it won't be
hard for her to find her," Wood said. "In fact, there are a number of
people I've met going to conventions who said they did not realize at
first that she was the same person as Dr. Magnus on Sanctuary."
Tapping said she tried very hard to make her role as Stargate's Col.
Carter very different from the sultry and mysterious Dr. Helen Magnus,
who runs a haven for abnormal creatures in Sanctuary.
"I dyed my hair and changed my accent and made it so that I don't look
at all like Carter," Tapping said. "I needed to reinvent myself as an
artist, so it was a challenge. I had to have more eccentricities and
walk with stilettos."
The new season of Sanctuary begins Oct. 9 and will air Fridays at 10
p.m. ET/PT. Tapping directs one of the new episodes. (Look for details
on that tomorrow.)
Tapping will also make an appearance in the premiere of Stargate
Universe, which debuts Oct. 2 at 9 p.m.
Friends,
WE mentioned a few times that we will be launching the 7th Fleet's
fiction/sim list to chronicle the tales of the chapters and members of
the 7th Fleet. So far not many have come forward to join. I will send
a monthly reminder out to this list in the hopes that as new people
sign on or check their emails they may gain interest.
So far I have back stories from a few of the chapters on what they
were doing when the FALL happened and how they ended up here and in
the current 7th Fleet. So far I have detailed info for the Hades and
Angel Styron. I received a basic info blurb from the Olympia and
Morrigan too.
What I'd like is for each remaining chapter to consider sending me
either their back story or a brief blurb on where they were and what
they did from the Fall to here? I just want to make sure that I
portray all of us correctly in the fiction/sims.
Here's the basic explanation of how the list will work. As list
Moderator I will propose a mission/story arc and provide a VERY loose
set of goals and targets which will need to be met. Once that is
posted all the list members can then proceed to post what they will
do/are doing in said situation. That way people can riff of each other
and change the story to a pick a path style game.
The cardinal rule is NOBODY is godlike. None of us are perfect and so
don't portray a character as perfect. My character has crashed a
viper, been promoted, demoted, sent to hack and received awards.
Please try to be reasonable with what you write. ALSO ranks and awards
must mirror what you have in CDF.
CO's if you have members who might be interested but are not on the
7th fleet list, please pass this on to them. To join the list you must
be a CDF member.
Here's the list address: 7th_Fleet_Fictional_Sims@yahoogroups.com
If you are interested in joining, just email me at:
markehanford@... and I'll have you invited to join the list.
Thanks for listening.
