ATWT PreVUE: Week of November 23 Edition

Posted: Monday, November 23, 2009 at 2:19 AM by Venus Stone-Cutter

Katie's past returns…

THIS WEEK ON: AS THE WORLD TURNS

Meg continues to wave her blackmail over Damian's head Monday, November 23 Katie
tries in vain to `reach' out to Brad. On Wednesday, November 25, Craig and
Rosanna's announcement receive mixed feelings.

The Inside Story: Carly and Jack Catch Up to Simon

After catching up with Simon, Jack makes the plea for him to come back to
Oakdale eto help Katie cope. Simon, however, isn't so sure he wants to go back.
When the Dells decide on buying the painting that Simon is trying to sell, Jack
purposely swaps the copy he was going to give them with that of the original.
When Simon learns that the original is gone, he gets angry. After some
convincing Simon says he'll go back to Oakdale. On Thanksgiving morning, Jack
finds himself in bed with Carly and begins to wonder what happened between the
two of them. It is shown in flashbacks Jack getting angry at himself for letting
Simon slip away. After nearly getting hit by a car, in which Carly pushes him
out of the way, Jack drowns his woes in alcohol. Threatening to join him in a
drink, Carly manages to pull Jack out of the bar and back to the motel room.
Once there she tries to tell Jack that he needs to forgive hinself but still
brooding, Jack continues to drink. A fed up Carly tosses Jack into the shower
and gets wet herself. She finds herself fretting that their symbol, the compass
that Jack gave her, has been ruined in the process. The two soon fall asleep
after talking with one another. Back in Oakdale, Janet is taking out her anger
by making Thanksgiving pies. Teri comes in just in time to snap Janet out of her
funk by telling her that her pies are burning. Offering her assistance, Teri
helps Janet make some more pies. Realizing that Janet is still in a funk over
Jack being gone, Teri pays Dusty a visit asking him to do what he can to try his
best to track Jack down. They soon find out where Jack is and head back to the
farm to let Janet know. Dusty offers to take Janet to Pittsburgh. Once they get
there, however, Janet and Dusty see that Jack and Carly are fast asleep in bed
together. Not wanting to confront them there, Janet tells Dusty to take her back
home.

A Closer Look: Snyder Farm Thanksgiving Brings All Home

In Oakdale, Kim offers Molly a job for the news magazine on WOAK. Shortly after,
Holden meets up with Molly and asks if she would like to come and stay at the
farm. Molly asks if Lily will be upset her arrival but Holden tells her he could
care less if she is. Meanwhile, Meg tells Damian that she's invited Officer
Grady to pay a visit. He quickly points out that even if he does show up, his
head injury could keep his testimony from being heard. Meg, however, gets the
upper hand when she tells Damian that she knows what he did to keep Holden
`dead'. Later that day, everyone comes to the Snyder farm for Thanksgiving. Lily
and Damian arrive, shortly followed by Teri and Dusty. When Jack and Carly
arrive, everyone wants to know where he's been but stop themselves from asking.
Janet and the rest welcome them back home and settle at the table for dinner.
Katie, who feels that her place is at the Snyder farm, runs into Liberty, who
tells her that she just felt her father's presence. As she's walking toward the
farm house, she catches a glimpse of Brad in the window. Excited, Katie turns
around only to find that she can't see Brad after all.

but immediately becomes uneasy when he sees Sharon holding Faith. Nervous that
she will pick up on something, Adam quickly ends their time together. Shortly
after she's left, Adam gets some advice from Ashley about taking out his
`mystery girl'. Leaving, he heads immediately over her house and lays a kiss on
her. Pulling away, Adam worries that he may have crossed the line but becomes
pleased when Sharon doesn't get upset by his actions. Later on that night,
Sharon asks Adam is he'd like to spend Thanksgiving together and he eagerly
accepts the offer.

A Closer Look: Paul Locks Lips with Nina

Paul comes over to the Chancellor mansion with new information for Jill about
the daughter Katherine gave up for adoption, un-intentionally interrupting
Thanksgiving dinner in the process. The minute Katherine and Nina see them
together, the two cover their story by pretending to be dating one another.
Unfortunately for them, Nina isn't buying the ruse and begins to wonder what is
going on. She later corners Paul and begins to question how long he and Jill
have been an item. As they are talking, Nina realizes that Jill and Paul are

authenticated which infuriates Simon and brings him home to Oakdale. On
Thanksgiving morning Jack wakes up in bed next to Carly, and cannot remember
anything that happened. Teri and Janet are baking pies for Thanksgiving dinner,
but Teri wants to help her sister by doing more than helping with pies. She goes
to Dusty to recruit him to find Jack. After tracking him down, Dusty and Janet
go to Pittsburgh to bring Jack home. When arriving at the motel room, they
discover Carly and Jack in bed together. Without confronting Jack, Janet and
Dusty return home to Oakdale for Thanksgiving dinner.

Katie not sleeping very well, asks her doctor to prescribe her sleeping pills,
but the doctor is hesitant because she is the only caregiver to Jacob. When
Katie runs into Henry who tells her Ralph received the maximum sentence in
court, she asks him to babysit so she can get some sleep. She is about to take
more then the recommended dose of an over the counter sleep aid, and the bottle
is taken from her hand by Brad. She dismisses the incident and doesn't take any
more pills then what she has already taken. Henry's loud voice wakes her up from
her deep sleep and she goes to find out what is going on. Henry tells her he is
talking to Brad and Katie reaches out to him but passes out from the effects of
the sleep aid she has taken.

Craig and Rosanne stop by and announce their engagement, and Margo and Katie are
less than thrilled by the news. Katie confides in Nancy and tells her about
feeling Brad's presence. Nancy assures Katie she is not losing her mind about
feeling the presence of Brad. Kim offers Molly a job at the magazine, and Holden
asks her to stay at the farm, regardless of how Lily will feel about Molly
living there. Meg reminds Damian she has the upper hand because she knows his
secret.

and Damian come to dinner so the kids can be with the family, as does Teri and

Y&R,Adam Kisses Sharon

SOD/SOW Article

http://daytimeroyaltyonline.com/topic/8222455/1/

Adam Kisses Sharon!

Adam and Sharon's "innocent" relationship takes a surprising turn this week when
the dastardly Mr. Newman plants an unexpected kiss on her.

"Sharon is such a sweet soul and such a wonderful person. Adam is drawn to her.
He's starting to have genuine feelings for her," explains Michael Muhney.

Those genuine feelings lead to a surprising kiss at the Newman ranch. It all
happens during a quiet evening when Adam heads off to pour a couple drinks for
himself and Sharon. While he's gone, Sharon tends to a crying Faith and when
Adam comes back, he sees her cooing with the baby and comforting her. Adam is
filled with guilt and immediately ends the evening. Adam says that the baby is
upset and he never intended for Sharon to become a glorified babysitter.

Explains Muhney, "Now that he's grown to care for Sharon, he's realizing the
damage he's done and he's finding it so painfully hard to come to terms with
what he did. It's gotten complicated."

Later, Ashley comes home and she realizes someone was there when she sees how
upset Adam is. She tells him he should go see his mystery date. Reluctantly,
Adam takes her advice because he never wanted to end his date with Sharon in the
first place.

Adam goes to Sharon's house and he tells her he needs to make a confession.
Without saying a word, he shocks her with a passionate kiss. Explains Muhney,
"Adam acts without thinking. He's outside of his comfort zone because he's
usually all about thinking. There's an awkward beat. There's genuine surprise
and curiosity on both their sides: 'Do we do this? Do we take this step forward
and possibly risk a friendship that's forming?' He doesn't want to ruin
something wonderful that they have. But she reacts well. There's no slap across
the face. There's a sense of, 'Let's see where this goes. Let's continue to get
to know each other.'"

Later, Adam thinks back on his kiss with Sharon and Sharon can't seem to get it
out of her head either. When Jack stops by to invite Sharon to Thanksgiving
dinner, she tells him she can't go. Afterwards, she invites Adam to spend the
holiday with her. "Adam has been ostracized from his family and the community,"
explains Muhney. "To be invited to anything touches him deeply. Adam is drawn to
Sharon and certainly attracted to her, and it's coming from a very real place,
possibly for the first time in his adult life. But the elephant in the room is
always what he did to her baby."

Adam and Sharon end up spending Thanksgiving together, which is bliss for Adam.
He's hopeful of a future with her, but will he ever really find a way into her
heart? And what will happen when Jack witnesses the two of them getting ultra
cozy? Stay tuned!

Y&R,Paul and Nina Kiss

SOW Article

http://daytimeroyaltyonline.com/topic/8222454/1/

Paul and Nina Kiss!

Kay and Nina interrupt when Paul shows up with information for Jill about
Charlotte Ramsey. Jill doesn't want anyone to find out that she hired Paul to
find out who Kay's real daughter is, so she covers by saying that she and Paul
are dating. Kay and Nina are suspicious and they know there's more to the story
-- they're just not sure what it is.

Paul ends up staying for dinner and he and Jill get separated. Nina starts
prodding for information but Paul doesn't give an inch. They step outside and
that's when Nina puts two-and-two together. She realizes that Paul is trying to
locate Katherine's real daughter. Paul admits the truth but advises Nina not to
spill the beans to Kay.

After Paul explains the situation, he realizes there was more to this than Nina
just being innocently curious. He believes Nina was jealous when she thought he
was dating Jill. Nina denies it and Paul shocks her by planting a steamy kiss on
her lips. Immediately following the smooch, Nina is taken aback and Paul's
suspicions are confirmed: She's emotionally involved. Where will their
relationship go from here?

Brad may be dead, but his ghost is alive and well-at least in Henry's case. He

unfortunately, she can't. Worried about Katie, Jack attempts to convince Simon
to return to Oakdale for her sake. Will he come to his former wife's rescue?

While on his journey, Jack is almost hit by a vehicle. Luckily, Carly's been
following him on this journey, and is there to push him out of the way just in
time. But is he grateful? One thing is certain. It looks like Jack's now the one
with the drinking problem, as his drunkenness gets out of hand. To ameliorate
the situation, Carly throws him in a cold shower. Are they on the path to
reconnecting or co-depending?

Meanwhile, Meg will not let Damian off the hook when she reminds him she knows
his secret. Will Damian turn the tables on her? Tune in to As The World Turns

Thursday, 19 November 2009 09:48

Okey dokey. It's almost a bit of fist-to-cuffs this week in Genoa City because
that's how tense things get when Nick and Adam have a go at each other. Then,
after said run-in with Nick, Adam takes stock of his situation and makes some
decisions. The first thing he chooses to do is to fess up to Sharon. How will
she react to his shocking confession?

Then, watch for someone named Pearl to shake things up a tad in town. Just who
she is and why she's there remains to be seen.

At the same time, with the holidays upon us, Paul is feeling rather romantic.
But when he catches Nina off guard with a kiss will she be receptive to his
advances or will he feel the pain of rejection? One sure fire way to find out.
Tune in to the Young and the Restless this week and see.

I don't know what I'd do."
—DAYS's James Scott in the pages of Soap Opera Weekly
Translation: Luckily, Ari Zucker is hot.

"I'm reading a book called The Sheltering Sky by Paul Bowles."
—GH's Nathan Parsons announcing he has his own book club in Soap Opera Weekly
Translation: Tony Geary reads it to me at bedtime.

"The respondent [husband] was not allowing the petitioner [wife] to see programs
on TV as per her choice."
—From The Daily News and Analysis newspaper which reported that a couple from
Pine, southeast Mumbai, divorced because the husband refused to allow his wife
to watch her sudsy drama
Translation: At least she wasn't watching crap-tastic American soaps, dude!

All My Children, ABC/A — Hallelujah! Chuck Pratt Jr. fired!
• This just in — Soapoperadigest.com is reporting that Chuck Pratt Jr. has been
fired from AMC. More on Monday!

• Writers, do not try this at home: In story 411, Amanda confesses to Jake that
she slept with David. Also, Liza loses her baby and it is revealed that Trevor
is Jake's son.

• New beginnings? Looks like AMC's 40th anniversary week will revolve around
Kelly Ripa's Hayley Santos and her talk show returning to Pine Valley and not
Dr. Joe Martin's retirement, as Suds reported. Lee Meriwether has already taped
the scenes in which Joe and Ruth retire to Florida, claims Digest. Knowing Chuck
Pratt's last-minute writing style, this could all change.

• According to Soap Opera Digest, funnyman Walt Willey will be back sometime in
December and will also appear during the anniversary shows before he leaves the
canvas entirely.

As The World Turns, Global/CBS — A New Moon for Oakdale?
• As Suds reported exclusively a few weeks back, Emmy-nominated actress Meredith
Hagner is indeed leaving World Turns (smart girl!). However, according to a
couple of sources, David Kreizman has changed his mind and won't be killing off
Liberty. Instead, the role will be recast. Apparently, a casting breakdown for a
16-18 young female with a "hard edge" has already been released. Smart move,
David.

• Nuke fans, rejoice: Word from the Brooklyn set is that Noah's blindness is
only temporary.

• Is Marnie Schulenburg out? Sources close to the actress relay that Marnie is
seriously considering leaving when her contract expires in February. So perhaps
instead of killing Liberty the show may off Alison instead. I pray this is true
so I don't have to keep looking up how to spell the name of one of Oakdale's
worst recasts ever!

• Holy Kreiz! Take this gossip with a grain of salt, World Turns fans. The
growing buzz is that the venerable CBS sudser will be renewed for one more year!
No joke. When Suds Report contacted our CBS sources for confirmation, several
insiders claimed it's pretty much a done deal but nothing will be announced
until after November Sweeps. "We can't cancel World Turns so soon after Guiding
Light," explains one network mole. "I don't watch the show but everyone here
says World Turns has gotten its act together creatively so the thinking is to
give it another year." Ya think?

• Austin Peck isn't the only actor who needs a dictionary. Michael Park is
clearly smoking some awesome crack by claiming to Michael Fairman that Austin
Peck wasn't fired. Read between the lines here: "Look, he did not get fired,"
states Park. "We needed to facilitate Brad going away to facilitate story and
unfortunately he was collateral damage. What a firestorm it started because the
fans got very upset. But the story that happened because of that was so gorgeous
that that death was so wonderful, and so many people benefited from it. Most of
all, I believe the fans did. And it's not over yet, because the Christmas Eve
show will knock your socks off! The Christmas Eve show is one of our most
beautiful shows of the year, I think." What would have been even more wonderful
is if that misogynistic pig, Jack, was killed. Can we facilitate that, Michael,
since you sound like you are writing and producing the show?

As for rumours of World Turns's cancellation, Park says, "To comment on it makes
it real. I lost a couple nights sleep there and I am not going to lie to you.
What is happening with ABC switching AMC to Los Angeles, and budgets are being
cut across the board and every show is feeling what Guiding Light was feeling,
and what As the World Turns and One Life to Live [sic] is feeling now. I have
kids I have to feed, but I know I will be working, God willing." Time will tell,
Michael.

• In story 411, Molly and Holden are headed for romance! Can't wait. Eleven
years ago, I felt the show dropped the ball with this potential breakout
coupling. Jon Hensley and Lesli Kay are two of the most talented actors we have
working in this business and I can't wait to see them reunited on screen.
Confession time: I'm sort of praying Kay stays on World Turns. You?

The Bold and the Beautiful, CBS/CTV — Where in the world is Dick Forrester?
• Where in the world is Rick Forrester? Soaps In Depth asks Kyle Lowder why the
actor has been back-burnered for months. Good question. Lowder responds to the
magazine by saying, "It's been a blessing to be available for her at a time when
[my pregnant wife, Arianne Zucker] most needs me." He offers this solution to
his professional woes: "It would be great to possibly have a story arc with a
new character on the show. I'm excited to see what happens." Lowder goes on to
state that he trusts B&B chief, Brad Bell. "The writers and producer haven't
steered the show wrong," the former DAYS star says. "They know what they're
doing, so you trust in what they want to do and how they want to do it."

When Suds Report dug to find out why Bell has basically shunned Lowder's Rick
from the canvas (heck, Winsor Harmon and I have more airtime), a source
explains, "Kyle went so over-the-top with his performance earlier this year,
which was lampooned on The Soup, that Brad has no idea what to do with the
character. Rick has been ruined. You won't be seeing Rick for another few
months."

Enter Jacob Young? During a recent podcast, daytimeconfidential.com brilliantly
suggested that B&B re-hire the Emmy winner. Earlier this year, Young, the best
Rick Forrester thus far, informed a stunned Suds Report during his contract
negotiations that he'd kill to be back on B&B and "made a huge mistake by
quitting. I miss working with Brad."
Photo credit: The Bold and the Beautiful
Meanwhile, producers from other soaps are reporting that Lowder has been
sniffing around for other soap work. If you ask me, what Lowder should be doing
is getting a haircut. Why do all the Rick Forresters have bad hair (sorry,
Jacob)?

• Sarah Brown tweeted the other day, "BettyWhite dumping prescription pills into
the sea @ Paradise Cove on B&B. She would never do that, she LOVES critters,
she's awesome:)." That's a brilliant way to respect a TV legend, Brad. Not.

• Are recent reports that Lesli Kay has been taken off contract true? Yes, they
are, confirms show insiders. But don't worry, it's just a financial issue
because Kay's toiling in Oakdale currently. CBS isn't going to pay one actress
two salaries, sillies!

Days of our Lives, NBC/Global — Salem thinks it can dance!
• Amy Winehouse has kicked out Bryan Dattilo from rehab! And he said, "Yes, yes,
yes!" Expect Lucas back in Salem on Dec. 3. Welcome back!

During a recent BuzzWorthy Radio interview, Dattilo said, "[DAYS] just decided
to give my character a little break. They just called me and said, `We're going
to give you a couple months off, and you won't be working that much. We're gonna
put you in rehab, and when you come out, we got this really great storyline for
you.'"

• Despite their nauseating public declarations of love (seriously, don't jinx
it, kids), daytime's real-life "super-couple," Molly Burnett and Casey Deidrick,
produced this entertaining dance spoof, so all is forgiven. The majority of the
DAYS cast participated — and it's worth a view and a chuckle. My fave? Crystal
Chappell thinks she can dance! Too bad Gary Tomlin didn't partake in the
behind-the-scenes antics. This video proves that DAYS is probably the happiest
daytime set these days! And it's infectious! Good work, my little rose petals!

• Once again, one of my fearless predictions have come true! In story 411, Carly
moves in with Maggie and announces she's in town to find her daughter! Suds is
hearing it's Melanie, but I'd be happier if it was Mia (I had predicted Chloe).
Can you imagine hair model Molly Burnett acting opposite one of the most
talented women on the planet, La Chappell? Taylor Spreitler is a much more
talented — and younger — actress to adorn the Manning/Alamain tiara. Also, when
Carly finds out what Nicole did to her granddaughter — well, all hell will break
loose and I'll be sitting near my TV with a huge bowl of popcorn. But let's not
forget Melanie did hail form Paris, where Carly resided for a while.

General Hospital, CTV/A — Great Scott!
• That handsome bastard, Scott Reeves, has his first GH airdate — Dec. 9.
Everyone's making a huge fuss over James Franco but I'm more eager to see Reeves
back on soaps. Expect Reeves to be involved in the lame-ass triangle involving
Liz/Lucky/Dikolas.

• DoubleX.com's astute writer, Willa Paskin, wrote an on-point, scathing soap
opera and GH analysis that every fan should read. It's nice to see the
mainstream online media actually research what they are writing about. Below is
an excerpt of the state of Port Chuck using James Franco's soap slum as a lead.

"But the real reason GH gets away with all of this has to do with the strange
morality of daytime TV. Like the daytime talk shows where audience members chide
swingers for forsaking the nuclear family, soaps have a reputation for being
conservative because the characters aren't afraid to talk about "values."
Everyone always wants to stay together for the kids, men always want to do "the
right thing," motherhood is the most fulfilling thing a woman can do, every
chick on the show has been imagining her wedding since she was a little girl and
longs to be "taken care of," and when things go pear-shaped, characters deliver
soliloquies to God. Apparently, after almost 50 years of talking this talk,
soaps can walk over and kill almost anyone, execution-style.

Soaps don't live up to conservative or liberal values, just the devil's. Any
given character is pretty much guaranteed to be an adulterer, to have lied to
the people that he or she loves most about something very important, to have
been married and divorced multiple times. It would not be a surprise if he or
she had killed someone, though likely in self-defence or a fit of crazy. Murder,
blackmail, and rape are common. Luke raped Laura long before the two of them
became the ultimate super-couple. An acquaintance of mine who was briefly hired
to pen scripts on a soap was given a dense document explaining the various
convoluted connections among characters. Children were denoted with an M, A, or
R to indicate if they were a product of marriage, affair, or rape.

Given the soaps' obvious weaknesses — mediocre production values, flat acting,
and absurd, drawn-out storylines — it requires a huge suspension of disbelief to
enjoy them at all, far more than is required to watch even the most middling
prime-time show. If you're willing to buy it when a character you mourned comes
back from the dead, or to stick it out when wannabe lovers exchange tortured
glances for the 34th week in a row, or give it a chance when the actor playing a
part changes from one day to the next, who can quibble about a hit man with a
heart of gold?"

• "Mad World" is the song underscoring the CO77X storyline. None other than
passive-aggressive gay, Adam Lambert, sings the musical offering. How much did
ABC shell out to pay for those rights?

• GH surprised fans by airing the highly anticipated James Franco entry into
soap opera society a day early! Smart move. Had GH just aired the face of Gucci
on today's tag, it may have bored all the new viewers tuning in for an entire
hour just to see the Golden Globe Award winner. I'm dying to see next week's
ratings to see if this "acting experiment" works in GH's favour. I think it
will. In story 411, Franco Branco has sex with a Port Chuck heroine, according
to a Soap Opera Digest cover story. The candidates? Carly, Sam and Maxie. [Ed.
Note: If you've seen any of the previews, it's pretty obvious. And bad news for
a particular super-couple.] As an aside, how weird is it to see Franco on the
cover of Soap Opera Freakin' Digest?! Smart move, Stephanie Sloane.

• Mac and Alexis? Melikes. John J. York deserves a meaty storyline and romance,
non? York reminds me of those `90s hunks like James DePaiva, Frank Dicopoulos,
and Walt Willey. You know, those talented actors who suffer at the hands of
daytime executives because they are no longer deemed hot, young stud machines
anymore.

Gotham, gothamtheseries.com — Exclusive: Mystery stars added!
• The wait is over. And the future is here this Monday at 8 p.m. ET. Gotham will
finally air online in just three days. Creator, star, writer, and producer (Whew
— take a breath here) Martha Byrne tells The Suds Report exclusively that
several mystery soap actors will be lending their voices to the web series.
"There are mystery voiceovers of future cast members in the beginning of the
first episode," reveals the Emmy winner. "The actors will not be listed in the
credits so it will be a fun guessing game for the fans." How much you want to
bet one of the voices is welovesoaps.net's Roger Newcomb whispering sweet
nothings to Michael Park?! LOL! For your chance to win an autographed Gotham
script, log on to The Suds Report's Facebook page, and tell us what you thought
of Byrne's inaugural episode. If I can, I will be tweeting while I watch the
first Gotham offering. As for how many episodes we can expect this season, Byrne
simply says, "At this point, it's all open-ended."

One Life To Live, ABC — God of Carnage!
• My favourite new website, AfterElton.com, interviewed Emmy winner Ron
Carlivati regarding his brave, groundbreaking Kish storyline. When I last spoke
with RC — right after the Kish kiss — he told me that he received no negative
reaction from viewers nor the network. Which kind of makes you wonder if only
homophobic viewers watch CBS soaps. A few months later, Carlivati tells
AfterElton.com that the storyline is still a resounding success sans backlash.
He says, "The network has been really supportive and fantastic about the story.
I just kept writing it waiting for the day when they'd say, `OK. That's enough.'
[laughs] But it didn't happen, so they've been great."

He adds, "I always say, at heart, this is a love story like any other. I just
try to write the story like I would if this was a straight couple. Obviously,
some other issues become a part of that story. We did take on this gay marriage
issue, but essentially, again, we tried to write it from the standpoint of a
love story, not a political story."

Hey, after penning an obscene rapemance last year, this storyline is a parade.

The former legal eagle does hint that we haven't seen the last of future psycho,
Nick. "After the wedding, it seems like that's the end for Nick, but we found a
way to have him come roaring back into the story very soon."

Venice, venicetheseries.com — See You Next Tuesday!
• Karma's a bitch! Or a lesbian. Emmy winner Crystal Chappell tells The Suds
Report that her much buzzed-about web soap will now debut on Dec. 4! "That was
always the case," Chappell maintains through her spokesperson. So, without
further adieu, here's the fierce Venice promo, lesbo lovahs! I can't wait.
Chappell has proven that you can shoot an aesthetically beautiful show with no
budget. Translation? With millions of dollars and myriad resources, Guiding
Light show-killer, Ellen Wheeler, proved she had no business helming a series,
let alone a makeup brush. If I were Ellen, I'd hide out in an Afghanistan cave
for the rest of my life. Or return to acting.

The Young and the Restless, CBS/Global — Shemar Moore he's not!
• Y&R needs to fire its casting director, STAT! EW.com stunned the soap world
earlier this week by revealing that Darius McCrary — best known for playing
Eddie Winslow on the long-running ABC sitcom Family Matters — has signed a
multi-year deal to assume the role beginning Nov. 18. His debut will air on
Dec. 29.

"We are thrilled to have the character of Malcolm back on Y&R," according to a
statement from Maria Bell, the drama's co-executive producer/head writer.
"Malcolm, Neil Winters' brother, has always been a catalyst to exciting stories.
He's coming back to town to see his brother and to reunite with his biological
daughter, Lily Winters, as she fights for her life. Malcolm is a photographer …
someone who lives on the edge and who always pushes the envelope."

Y&R chief, Maria Arena Bell, really needs to go to prime-time TV rehab. Her
obsession with casting lacklustre nighttime actors is bordering on insane.
McCrary better be Marlon Brando is all I'm saying. Why do soaps always drop the
black ball when it casts African-American actors? It's really starting to piss
me off. From Victoria Rowell to Christel Khalil — yikes!

• Once again, the behind-the-scenes drama is far more interesting than what is
happening on our screens. Celebrating his 20-year anniversary as Jack Abbott,
Emmy winner Peter Bergman gave ETonline.com a juicy interview. When queried
about which question fans most ask, La Bergman responded, "Fans ask me most
often: `Do Eric and I get along in real life?' My answer is … next question."
Burn. I have to say, I respect Bergman for his blunt honesty. It's rare. Suds
Report contacted Eric Braeden's rep for comment but at press time Charles
Sherman was still seeking a reaction from Braeden.

• Do we need more black writers in daytime? Of course. But considering how Y&R
embarrassingly fumbled their gay storyline — with a homosexual writer on staff,
to boot — maybe we just need talented writers no matter who they are. Humans are
humans. Just write a good story, damn it.

Soap Opera Mystery Hour — This week's hottest blind items
—Which daytime diva, who Suds reported was on the verge of a nervous breakdown
last week, actually had a meltdown on the set this past week?

—Which two east-coast daytime divas couldn't stand to work with each other? No
worries — one of the women is now unemployed, so all is right in Brooklyn.

—Which west-coast actor is so gay even his wife suspects? Too bad everyone knows
but him.

SOAP OPERA DIGEST INSIDER

November 19, 2009

Greetings from the Editor, Lynn Leahey

Dear Readers,
Kim Zimmer is the kind of person who turns a quick call to answer a simple
question into a conversation worthy of four pages in the magazine. I
recently talked to the actress to get her take on the So Long Springfield
tour, in which a group of ex-GLers travels to different cities to interact
with fans. She was effusive about the event (go the
http://sourceinterlink.r.delivery.net/r?2.1.3Ky.2gt.11eqqO.CCsxJi..N.Trxy.
4gw.bW89MQ%5f%5fDbGUFXR0 for info), but she had lots to say about the last
years of GL, too. She prefaced our talk with the warning that she wants to
save the juicy stuff for a book she's writing. That is definitely one book
I will be buying, considering what she did feel free to share! Smart,
funny and candid, Zimmer had lots of love for her castmates and past
storylines, but she labeled the final production model "high school" and
admitted she was so angry she didn't venture out of her dressing room
unless she had to. Oh yeah, and she hated the Jeffrey (non)ending, too.
For more from a daytime treasure, check out your new issue.

TALES FROM THE INTERVIEW

Lauren Flynn Kelly: While the death of ONE LIFE TO LIVE's Jared will no
doubt give new and exciting story to Natalie and Charlie, the firing of
John Brotherton was unfortunate indeed. Since he first joined the Llanview
canvas as sexy ex-con Jared Banks in August 2007, I enjoyed watching the
actor create this charming, edgy character and the many interviews we
conducted. Brotherton was always punctual, eloquent, entertaining and
honest. He got the hang of "news interviews" right away, and was never shy
about sharing updates on his engagement and marriage to wife Alison. Now,
the happy couple is heading back to L.A., where they met and got their
start as actors, and I wish them all the best in their journey. Brotherton
was gracious enough to grant us an exit interview, and you'll see in this
week's issue that he has nothing but gratitude for his two years at OLTL.

Noami Rabinowitz: Interviewing Y&R's Christel Khalil Hensley (Lily) and
Daniel Goddard (Cane) together is always fun. Though they play husband and
wife on the show, they act more like brother and sister in real life. They
constantly joke around and tease each other, but underneath it all, their
friendship shines through.

"Sometimes it's hard to get through scenes with him," shares Khalil
Hensley. "He's always doing something that makes me laugh, and here we are
doing this serious scene."

"I think maybe the fans like our characters together because they can tell
we enjoy working together," concluded Goddard. "I guess that comes across
on screen and they've picked up on it."

For more on the duo, check out the December 1 issue.

CAMPAIGN TRAIL

You gotta love soap fans' creativity -- Digest regularly receives doodads
and goodies from readers who know how to make a statement.

Stephanie Sloane: Wow, I am feeling completely spoiled by The Dirty
Martini (thedirtymartini.net) board members! They surprised me with
cookies that wound up in the wrong building and to "make up" for it, they
sent flowers. This was all to thank me for the coverage of DAYS's Nicole
and EJ, which, frankly, given the how great the story is, is easy to do.
The flowers really brightened up my office and the cookies were delicious.
The editors gobbled them up, as did I. So, thank you all! And while we're
giving thanks, Happy (early) Thanksgiving!

Mallory Harlen: The Zen fans from
http://sourceinterlink.r.delivery.net/r?2.1.3Ky.2gt.11eqqO.CCsxJi..N.Try2.
4gw.bW89MQ%5f%5fDUDGFVL0 were sweet enough to write with their support for
my latest AMC column and sent me a gorgeous flower arrangement, too
(pictured below)! Thank you so much for thinking of me and brightening up
a dreary day! Thanks again!

Vera Hadzi-Antich: It's definitely been a sweet and flowery week! In
addition to the wonderful treats and flowers from The Dirty Martini and
Zendall campaigners, we also received delicious mini pies from the Ejami
crew, who support DAYS's EJ and Sami! The pies came along with the
message, "Nothing is sweeter than a reunited Ejami family for
Thanksgiving!"

ATWT's Nuke supporters are also in the Thanksgiving spirit and "include
Luke and Noah and all the happiness and love they bring into [their]
lives" on the list of what their thankful for. ATWT fans aren't all so
happy -- there's a group feuding over Jack! Carly and Jack campaigners are
"very excited about the news of an impending Carjack reunion," but Janet
and Jack supporters are "patiently waiting for Jack to come home to
Janet." This storyline is awesome, and I can't wait to see what happens,
too! There are some ATWT fans who are worried about ATWT meeting GL's
fate. They write, "Please keep our world turning."

GH's Jasam fans are thrilled that Jason and Sam are together. They write,
"GH's start of sweeps have been absolutely amazing. Seeing Jason with a
gun is always hot and we are glad Sam is trying to comfort Michael."
Definitely keep tuning in.

Thanks for the campaigns!

Revolving Door

INs
?AMC's 40th anniversary episodes in January will be filled with characters
richly embedded in the show's history. Julia Barr (Brooke), Eva La Rue
(Maria), Laurence Lau (Greg), Taylor Miller (Nina), Leven Rambin (Lily)
and Eden Riegel (Bianca) will be joining Kelly Ripa and husband Mark
Consuelos (Hayley and Mateo) for a Pine Valley blast from the past!

?Daniel Cosgrove (ex-Bill, GL) will be reuniting with former co-star Tom
Pelphrey (Mick; ex-Jonathan) when he lands on ATWT in a yet-to-be-revealed
role. He is set to air in early 2010.

?GH's Chad Brannon (ex-Zander) will be making a return to Port Charles for
one episode in the middle of December.

He'll play billionaire Tucker McCall. His first airdate is Dec. 2.

?DAYS veterans Bill Hayes (Doug) and Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie) will
make a special holiday appearance on this year's Christmas Eve episode.

THE TOP 10 PLUS

1. Evidently, GENERAL HOSPITAL could not keep James Franco's light under a
bushel: The screen star's face was revealed a day early!

2. Despite the economy, surrogacy is a growth industry -- just ask YOUNG
AND RESTLESS' Mac and BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL's Sandy.

3. With all that free beer at Patrick and Robin's place on GH, it's no
wonder Coleman ventured outside Jake's!

4. "Mr. Panda" appears to be recurring as kooky Sandy's little pal on B&B.
Get that toy a contract!

5. Speaking of pandas, Y&R's baby Delia sported quite the adorable panda
hat and matching pajamas as Chance cuddled her. Is she a B&B fan?

6. Real-life New York weatherman Lonnie Quinn (ex-Rich, SANTA BARBARA;
ex-Will, ALL MY CHILDREN) was a blizzard of LOL lines on AS THE WORLD
TURNS this week.

7. Did AMC's Kendall just fall off the turnip truck?! She's been "bonding"
with Aidan for weeks and still can't see his true intent.

8. Talk about a great match: DAYS OF OUR LIVES' Arianna accessorized her
very purple room with a purple shirt-wearing Brady!

9. You'd think people would realize prison bars can't keep ONE LIFE TO
LIVE's charismatic Mitch from working his dark magic!

10. Why are guys named "Logan" on CW shows always trouble? (Talking to
you, dudes from THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, VERONICA MARS and GILMORE GIRLS...)

FOR YOUR EYES ONLY

?From Senior Writer/Editor Joe Diliberto: Now that GENERAL HOSPITAL's
Jonathan Jackson has had a few weeks to settle back into the role, how
does he assess the Lucky/Elizabeth romance? "I think that he can sense
that something's very wrong underneath it all, and he's fighting for their
relationship and for their future," Jackson notes. "Lucky's intuitive.
He's a Spencer and he's a detective, so I'm sure he is very aware and very
tuned in to the dynamics. I just think the idea of her with Nikolas is too
insane for him to [contemplate]. I think he's concerned. I think he
doesn't know if it's just her struggling with the past. She's been through
a rape; she's been through affairs and lying about children that she's
had. More than being suspicious of her, I think he just wants to make sure
that she's free from the past to be able to move forward."

WHY WE CLAPPED

ONE LIFE TO LIVE's Brett Claywell was sweet and heartfelt when Kyle
declared his love for Oliver in Angel Square, earning Applause, Applause
kudos for Issue 48.

LISTENING STATION

?That was Cobra Starship (featuring GOSSIP GIRL's Leighton Meester)
performing "Good Girls Go Bad" in the background when AS THE WORLD TURNS'
Liberty tried to buy a beer at Yo's on Nov. 16.

Are you a music aficionado? Can you recognize an obscure ditty at 0.5
measures? Listening Station would be happy to take contributions. Feel
free to e-mail the song, artist, show and date to
mala@..., along with your name so we can give you proper
credit for your mad musical skills.

NIGHTWATCH

?From Senior Writer/Editor Joe Diliberto: If you have been hesitant to
sample STARGATE UNIVERSE on Syfy because you think it's just some silly
space opera, I strongly urge you to tune in to tonight's episode (at 9
p.m. on Syfy), which features Ming-Na (ex-Lien, AS THE WORLD TURNS) and
Reiko Aylesworth (ex-Rebecca, ONE LIFE TO LIVE), and is called "Life" for
a very special reason. Two members of the team trapped on the alien
spacecraft use special technology to transfer their minds to bodies back
on Earth, so they can visit their families. While Eli checks on his
mother, Camile Wray (Ming-Na) visits her dear friend Sharon (Aylesworth).
The episode is all about family; not just the biological and emotion kin
back home, but the substitute family being forged on the other side of the
universe on a runaway starship. Ming-Na and Aylesworth are particularly
moving, as we get under the skin of the seemingly officious Wray, and
learn that she is far more than just an HR official from the IOA
bureaucracy. And after you see David Blue as Eli, you will never look at a
math nerd the same way again. SGU owes more to the gritty humanity of
BATTLESTAR GALACTICA than the techobabble of STAR TREK, so I am sure you
will connect with these characters.

If football is not your Thanksgiving entertainment of choice, take a look
at SOAPnet's holiday fare. On Thanksgiving day, SOAPnet serves up five
episodes of its "docu-soap" series HOLIDATE, and instead of leftovers on
Friday, why not gobble up the "Chilllin' With Dylan" eight-hour marathon
of BEVERLY HILLS, 90210's best episodes featuring bad boy Dylan McKay
(Luke Perry)? The "Home for the Holidates" marathon begins at 7 p.m. on
Thursday, while 90210 kicks off at 1 p.m. on Friday. Also on the menu:
Four episodes of BEING ERICA will bookend the 90210 run -- and include a
sneak peek at the upcoming second season of the time-traveling dramedy at
2 o'clock.

THE WE IN WEEKLY
Personal Words From Weekly Staffers

?From News Editor Mala Bhattacharjee: Molly's return to AS THE WORLD TURNS
this week was like a much-needed rain shower after a long drought. I
didn't know how thirsty I was for the verve that Lesli Kay brings to the
role until she blew in like a refreshing breeze. And, yes, my god-awful
weather references are deliberate, folks -- in an homage to Lonnie Quinn,
who was fantastic in his cameo as himself! Or at least an alternate soap
version of himself -- like Neil Patrick Harris as alterna-NPH in the
Harold & Kumar movies. Quinn, who has been the CBS 2 weathercaster here in
New York since 2007 and also appears on THE EARLY SHOW, began his career
in soaps. He played the original Will on AMC from 1988-'89 -- and he's
still "got it." His line delivery was spot-on and hilarious. And did I
detect a little sparkage with Molly? Hmmm? Dare I start driving the
"Lolly" fan bus? Because I bet they have a stormy past!

?From Editor Michael Karol: "The devil made me do it" was popularized by
comedian Flip Wilson on his groundbreaking variety show in the '70s. It's
a phrase that could be applied to many soap plots and characters, but
perhaps none more so than ALL MY CHILDREN's Dr. David Hayward, who's been
trying to make everyone as miserable as he is since he first turned up in
Pine Valley 12 years ago. David hates almost everyone in town, but has a
special reserve of bile built up for Adam Chandler. So it was a perfect
call (as in perfectly delicious) for AMC to put David in a red suit and
moustache, give him a trident, and cast him as the devil himself -- in
Adam's fevered nightmare after he collapsed during his wedding to Annie.
The set was sparse and the dialogue played off the irony of David in a
role tailor-made for him. "Please allow me to introduce myself," he noted.
So special props for referencing one of my favorite Rolling Stones
classics, "Sympathy for the Devil," and thanks, AMC, for interjecting some
devilish humor into all the drama.

?From Copy Editor Marc Wilkofsky: On the same day (Nov. 17), YOUNG AND
RESTLESS' Paul spoke with his daughter Heather about his love prospects
and GENERAL HOSPITAL's Mac had a similar chat with his niece Robin, who
thought he had a date planned. I like this type of family scene, which
might not heavily advance plot, but certainly develops characters and
fleshes out their relationships. Also, it's realistic; many people not
only don't mind discussing their love lives with their relatives, but
enjoy doing it. (Of course, for some, taking on the topic with a family
member is all about "ew.") Best of luck to the longtime (and lonely) Genoa
City and Port Charles heroes in their ongoing search for some
well-deserved amor.

?From Managing Editor Gabrielle Winkel: All the performances surrounding
Jared's death on ONE LIFE TO LIVE have been exceptional, but I must give a
special shout-out to Melissa Archer. She's been spectacular as Natalie
deals with shock of her husband's murder. Her grief comes from her gut,
and it's very moving. Note to readers of this newsletter: Try to catch her
performance on SOAPnet this weekend.

     * Damian and Lily decide to adopt Noah.
     * Barbara agrees to Mick's experiment.
     * Alison figures out Hunter's plan.
     * Jack helps Molly in her moment of need.

OAKDALE HAPPENINGS

Rosanna proposes to Craig, unaware of his lingering feelings for Carly, but he
says yes anyway. Following a lead on Simon,

Jack runs into Molly in New York. Molly's furious when a congressman she's been
seeing announces he's running for governor,

alongside his wife and children. She's fired from her job when she reveals the
congressman's transgression. Later, Jack

discovers Molly's brakes have been tampered with and calls Carly to come to New
York. Molly gets a policeman to wire her and

once the congressman is in her car, she pretends to be taking him somewhere.
Scared, he admits he hired someone to tamper

with her brakes. Molly leaves her catch-up session with Jack and Carly to call
an old friend. Thanks to a talk with Dusty,

Liberty gets the inspiration she needs to write a college paper. Janet's touched
by Dusty's kindness. Mick convinces a

doubtful Barbara to sign up for a human trial of his product. Maddie tries
making love to Casey, but he's too pre-occupied

with his thoughts of Alison to do it. Maddie and Hunter's avatars continue to
flirt online. Alison catches on to Hunter's

plan and realizes Emily had a hand in it. Even in spirit, Brad protects Katie.
Henry's life is threatened when the minion of

an old nemesis comes knocking.
LOVE IS BLIND

Noah's taken to the hospital after fireworks from his production blow up in his
face. At the hospital, Lily and Damian arrive

in just enough time to stop a fight between Luke and Mason. Mason leaves, but
comes back to threaten Luke with a lawsuit. He

fumes that none of this would have happened if it weren't for Luke. Fed up, Luke
tells Mason to stay away from him, and from

Noah. After Mason leaves, the doctor asks if Noah has family around because he
needs someone to sign off on a risky, but

necessary procedure. While Luke tries, to no avail, to contact Noah's aunt,
Damian suggests to Lily that they adopt Noah. It

turns out that Noah has no insurance and if surgery isn't done to reduce the
brain swelling, it might be too late. Lily and

Damian agree that adopting Noah is their only option, so that they can cover the
cost of his surgery. Later, Luke's hurt by

Noah's harsh words. Holden gives Lily a stern warning about their children.
Rattled by her constant reminders of his secret,

Damian fulfills Meg's dreams to keep her quiet.

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2009
Y&R -- BILLY REALIZES THE EXTENT OF HIS LOSS -- Kevin accepts a new job with
Chancellor Industries after Katherine makes an

interesting offer. Lauren receives a frightening gift. Michael and Nick learn
about Daniel and Amber's wedding - and turn up

in time for the reception. Lauren receives a shocking gift during Daniel and
Amber's wedding reception. When Lauren opens the

package addressed to her, a large black rat jumps out. Michael takes the rat
down to the alley and Michael and Lauren decide

to keep Daniel and Amber from learning about the strange gift. Alone at Crimson
Lights, Ryder tries to pump Eden for

information about the Fisher and Baldwin families - but Eden gives Ryder a cold
shoulder. Chloe and Chance arrive at the

Chancellor mansion after Chance is checked out of the hospital. Chloe and Chance
begin playing cards and end up engaging in a

heart-to-heart chat. Chloe cuddles up with Chance on his bed. At the Hospital,
Lily and Cane are thrilled when Mac insists

that she DOES plan to be their surrogate mother. However, Lily becomes
apprehensive when Mac admits that she broke up with

Billy. Meanwhile, at Jimmy's Bar, Billy continues drinking and is haunted by
memories of his relationship with Mac. When

Emily meets with Jack at The Athletic Club, Emily attempts to convince Jack that
the two of them dating would NOT be a good

idea. While Jack is attempting to persuade Emily to go out with him, Billy
arrives and informs Jack that Billy and Mac have

split up. Jack gives Billy the brush off - reminding Billy that Jack is finished
with cleaning up Billy's messes. After Billy

arrives, Paul comes to the Athletic Club and spots Jack. When Paul inquires
about Emily, Jack reports that Paul just missed

her. Paul tells Jack that Patty declares that IF Jack tried to leave her again,
she would have to hurt him. Jack reassures

Paul that Jack is willing to do whatever it takes to help get Patty back on the
right track. Paul thanks Jack for his

support. When Emily stops by the hospital to check on Lily - Lily introduces Mac
as Lily's prospective surrogate mother. Lily

asks Emily to speak to Mack about the psychological aspects of the surrogacy.
After Emily and Mac leave, Lily reports to Cane

that Mac broke up with Billy because of the surrogacy plan. Billy arrives
shortly afterward and Lily tries to reassure Billy

about Mac's involvement in the birth of Lily's child. However, Billy is
unconvinced by Lily's arguments and observes that he

believes that Mac is jumping into the situation without being willing to
consider all of the ramifications. Lily encourages

Billy to try to mend fences with Mac. While chatting with Mac, Emily is
surprised when Mac confides that she has suffered a

miscarriage before- and that Mac just broke up with her boyfriend. Emily
observes that those are serious red flags and

declares that she does NOT believe that Mac would be a good candidate to serve
as a surrogate mother. Mac insists that she

DOES know what she is doing - and is determined to help Lily and Cane realize
their dream. After Emily leaves, Cane spots Mac

and thanks her for being willing to help them out. Cane gives Mac a hug as Mac
assures Cane that she has "no regrets" about

her decision. At that moment, Billy spots Mac and Cane - and overhears Mac's
reassurance that she has "no regrets." Unaware

that Billy saw them together, Cane returns to Lily's room and reassures Lily
that everything is going to be just fine. After

the wedding party begins to break up, Nick and Phyllis return to the rooftop to
search for Phyllis's coat. After Nick thanks

Phyllis for NOT attempting to stop Daniel's wedding, Phyllis and Nick decide to
enjoy a romantic night in a suite at The

Athletic Club. As Amber and Daniel return home and prepare for their wedding
night, Amber admits that she is thrilled that

nothing bad happened during their Friday wedding. Lauren, Jana, Kevin, and
Michael all return to Crimson Lights, where Eden

is studying with Daisy. When Lauren explains about her strange gift, Daisy
wonders who could have sent such an ominous gift.

Lauren spots Ryder and observes that she believes that she has an idea. Billy
heads to the Chancellor mansion, hoping to

spend some time with Delia. When Billy arrives, Billy opens the door to Chance's
room just as Chloe and Chance share a kiss.

Chance orders Billy to leave. As Billy leaves, Billy runs into Mac, who is
crying on Katherine's shoulder about Mac's

break-up with Billy. Katherine advises Billy that it would be best if billy
left. When Paul meets with Emily at Crimson

Lights, Emily observes that Jack appears to be genuinely sorry for the upheaval
which Jack caused in Patty's life. Paul

assures Emily that Paul believes that Jack HAS changed! When Emily returns to
The Club, she realizes that Jack is still there

and they begin chatting again about Patty. When Nick and Phyllis arrive to get a
room, Phyllis spots Jack chatting with

Emily. Phyllis hits the roof and accuses Jack of NOT loving Summer because Jack
continues hanging out with Emily. After

Phyllis storms away, Jack attempts to apologize to Emily for Phyllis's outburst.
Emily informs Jack that she has decided to

take Jack up on his offer of a date after all.

JACK'S PLAN -- Once Jack realizes that Katherine plans to go out of her way to
prevent Jack from buying up Chancellor

Industries stock, Jack goes to Nick with a new idea. Jack offers to put up the
money for NICK to purchase the Chancellor

stock so that Katherine will believe that Newman Enterprises is investing in
Chancellor. If Jack's plan backfires, and Jack

loses money on the deal, Jack would be out the money and Nick would have the tax
advantage of taking a loss. Jack tries to

appeal to Nick's sense of family pride and points out that Jack should be
running the company which JACK'S father founded -

just as Nick should be running the company which NICK'S father founded. Nick is
intrigued - but, by week's end - Nick has

decided AGAINST getting involved with Jack's scheme.

PHILIP SAYS FAREWELL TO GENOA CITY -- Philip learns that the cattle rustlers who
were busted by Cane are out of jail - and

looking for revenge. Philip worries that IF the rustlers track Philip to Genoa
City - they will find Cane as well. Cane

offers to return to Australia with Philip to help Philip deal with the rustlers
- but Philip refuses to let Cane leave Lily.

Philip argues that, since Philip still has influential contacts in Australia,
Philip COULD derail the rustlers' revenge plot

by returning to Australia. Philip asks Cane to stay mum about Philip's REAL
reasons for returning to Australia. Nina hits the

roof when she learns about Philip's plan to return to Australia - and accuses
Philip of running away yet again. When Nina

learns about Philip's plans, Nina goes to someone else, in the hope that someone
else will be able to change Philip's mind.

Speculation is that THOMAS BIERDZ will be exiting Genoa City for the duration.

Jack Turns To Nick To Regain Control Of Jabot!

SOW Article

http://daytimeroyaltyonline.com/topic/8220531/1/

Jack turns to Nick to regain control of Jabot!

This week, Jack's quest to gain more control of Jabot through Chancellor
Industries (its parent company) leads him straight

Nick Newman.

"It's clear Jack is not going to get in on this IPO -- initial public offering
-- that Chancellor is opening up," explains

Peter Bergman. "He tries everything he can. He tries to get Ashley involved. He
talks to Neil and Katherine about it," but

they all say it isn't going to happen.

The reason Jack wants to buy up the stock is simple. "It would mean he'd be
sitting on the board at Chancellor and having

considerably more control over what happens at Jabot," explains Bergman.
"Obviously, Jack already owns a large share of

Jabot, but Katherine owns controlling interest. If Jack [could get more stock],
he'd have a real say as to what goes on at

Jabot."

Katherine, however, is determined to keep this from happening. She knows exactly
what Jack's plan is and she doesn't want his

agenda on the board because she knows he has a history of running roughshod and
taking things over.

Jack refuses to be deterred, so he goes to Nick with a deal: He'll put up the
money to buy Chancellor stock if Nick buys it

posing as Newman Enterprises. "Jack is totally up-front with Nick," explains
Bergman. "He basically says, 'You have no

downside here. You rep me. You rep my interests, go in, and buy the stock. I
give you the money. If it goes south, if Jabot

tanks, I lose the money. You don't lose anything. You'll get the tax advantages
of having a loss.'"

Jack makes the proposition even harder to resist when he appeals to Nick's sense
of family. Jack tells Nick that they were

both born to run their family's companies. "It's in their genes. He tells Nick,
'You know what I'm feeling and I'm asking for

your help.' Things can work out great," Bergman insists. "Jack has a real shot
at regaining control of Jabot. His ultimate

plan is not nefarious. It's not dark. It's just to regain control of a company
his father built. It's a great wrong that Jack

has to right."

Jillian's Y&R Spoilers
Submitted by Jillian Bowe on November 12, 2009 - 4:29pm

Paul/Nina: The gumshoe shares a kiss with the screenwriter, leaving her shocked
and confused.

Nick/Adam: The Newman brothers butt heads once again (What else is new?).

Adam/Sharon: He shares another secret with her.

JT/Victoria: The Hellstroms shock Nick and Phyllis with some information.

Phillip: The prodigal son stuns his family with news of him moving back to
Australia. The cattle rustlers Cane put in jail

are still out to get Cane, and Phillip realizes if they figure out his location
the criminals will be able to track Cane down

for some payback. In Phillip's mind he has to go back to Australia to protect
his friend however, Phillip doesn't realize

he's once again hurting his family.

Cane finds out what his old pal is up to and wants to head back with him, but
Phillip vetoes the idea. Phillip knows Cane's

life is with Lily and feels he must repay him for stepping in for his family
when he bailed. Phillip tells Cane not to

divulge his real reason for heading back to Australia since the family is still
a bit pissed about Cane's deception. When

Phillip fills Nina in on his plans she blows her stack.

Jack/Nick: Old Smilin' Jack goes to Nick for help to obtain more control of
Jabot. Jack tells Nick his plan for Nick to

purchase Chancellor Industries stock with the money Jack gives him on behalf of
Newman Enterprises! In Jack's mind, if he had

more stock he can have more input of what goes on at Jabot.

Jack is very honest with his former stepson and, even uses Nick's loyalty to
family to get what he wants. He tells Nick about

them being destined to run their family's business and that's all Jack wants in
the long run. Jack knows he can't buy CI

stock. Kay is hellbent on keeping him from getting the stock.

Thursday, 12 November 2009 05:19

Carly's only been back a short while, and her men troubles are already front and
center. Wanting to rekindle the romance she

and Craig started, they almost reconnect, but she thinks better of it for
Rosanna's sake. Will Craig take this as a sign to

push forth with his relationship with Rosanna? Meanwhile, Carly has also been
trailing Jack, who is in hot pursuit of Simon's

art theft. Will she be able to catch up to her ex and bring him back home?

While filming a scene for his project, an accident happens on set that causes
Noah to be taken to the hospital. Luke is there

for his man, while Holden notifies Lily of the
accident, who then goes to the hospital with Damian to support Luke. At least
they'll already be at a hospital should a fight

ensue...

At the same time, Mick seems to have made a believer out of Paul and Emily
regarding his miracle product. They decide to fund

his project with Paul's inheritance money, but Barbara feels they are investing
in something she believes is unwise.

Meanwhile, Paul and Emily's former `surrogate,' Liberty, is having a hard time
dealing with life's disappointments and blows

off working on her college essay. Is Liberty headed on a downward spiral? Tune
in to As the World Turns this week to find

out.

The Bold and the Beautiful Sneak Peeks Week of 11-16-09
Thursday, 12 November 2009 05:19

Bill and Katie finally tie the knot and are ready to start their new life
together. But before that happens, toasts are made,

vows of love are stated, tensions rise and true feelings are revealed by the
guests at the newlywed's wedding reception.

Surrounded by so much drama, maybe Katie and Brad should've just eloped.

Nick and Bridget are excited about having Sandy as a surrogate, and anxiously
prepare for the newest member of their family.

What they don't know is that Sandy's got a secret
that could cause a hitch in their baby-making plans. What could her secret be
and who might expose it?

At the same time, Ann drops in to see her girls, but her impromptu visit causes
apprehension for Pam and Stephanie. Does Ann

have plans to stay in sunny L.A.? Meanwhile, Donna's on-air argument with Pam
spikes "The Catwalk's" ratings, but her

argument with Stephanie spikes personal speculation and indignation. Are Donna's
days at the show numbered? Stay tuned to The

Bold and the Beautiful this week to find out.

Wedding bells ring out in Genoa City today. Yup, it's Amber and Daniel's
wedding. Will the nuptials go off without a hitch?

(Pun intended!) Speaking of the wedding, it comes as a surprise to Lauren when
she receives a gift during the celebration.

What does she get? More importantly, who is the presenter of the present?

While on the other side of town, Jack and Nick have a discussion. Are they at
odds this time, or could they actually be

reaching a meeting of the minds? One thing we can share. Before the week is out,
Jack has an intriguing offer for Nick. Does

he accept?

At the same time, we all know that Jill has been less than honest with those
around her. This week - and it's long overdue --

Kay becomes suspicious of Jill's lies. Will her suspicion lead her to discover
what Jill is hiding? If so, will Jill continue

to try and cover her tracks, or will she finally have to come clean? One sure
fire way to find out. Tune in to the Young and

the Restless this week.

DC Spoilers
Rosanna takes the bull by the horns and proposes to Craig. Craig realizes he may
be caught between a rock and a hard place

concerning Carly, but accepts anyway. It seems our boy cannot get the blonde
vixen out of his mind as Carly continues to

ponder a future with him. When she feels Jack needs her help, however, she's off
and running to New York City, where they

begin a search for Simon. Craig follows her thinking that she will begin
drinking again, but Carly tells him there isn't a

problem and dispatches him back to Oakdale. New York City is the focus of the
next stop on Jack's tour. While looking for

Simon, he runs into Molly Conlan (Lesli Kay). Molly, who hasn't changed that
much after all, is the mistress of a congressman

who throws his hat into the ring for governor. She reveals their affair when she
is dumped and is subsequently fired from her

job as a news reporter. Things heat up when Molly and Jack discover that the
brakes on her car were tampered with. Super hero

Jack traces the crime back to the disgruntled congressman, who eventually admits
he is the culprit. What a nicely wrapped up

package that is! Molly later leaves Jack and Carly alone to find an old friend.
Hmmm, Simon perhaps? Another nicely wrapped

up package, especially when he shows up just as Jack and Carly get all hot and
bothered.
Mick is getting the backing he needs from Paul and Emily. Barbara isn't so
convinced and warns Paul that Mick may be scamming

them. Mick turns on the charm and convinces Barbara that his product is good for
cancer patients. Better yet, he needs a live

guinea pig in order to get FDA approval! Babs, with a wary eye on Mick, agrees.
There is more to Mick's story; he is hiding

his own medical problems.
There is a-quad a-brewing with the young adult crowd. Maddie, Casey, Alison and
Hunter are all on each others' minds, but not

at the right times. Maddie and Casey try to hook up, but Casey is having
salacious thoughts about Alison. Meanwhile, Hunter

and Maddie continue their online flirtation. Ever the quick wit, Alison adds up
the equation and comes up with Emily.
Katie has had enough of Henry and decides the best way to keep him away is get a
restraining order. Brad continues to try to

reach Katie and finally makes the connection. Henry's chickens come home to
roost when he finds himself in deep trouble

thanks to an old enemy.
Luke and Noah's drama continues to play out this upcoming week. Mason pops up at
the hospital and he and Luke duke it out

again. This time Lily and Damian intervene. Mason returns and tells Luke he will
sue him and blames him for Noah's accident.

Luke tells Mason to take a hike and he does. Noah is rushed to Memorial after
his accident and the guilty-feeling Luke is by

his side. Noah needs a risky surgical procedure, but in order to have it he
needs the signature of a relative. After attempts

to reach Noah's aunt (paging Robin Mattson, we need you now!) falls flat, Luke
realizes there is nothing he can do to help

Noah. Damian brings up the idea to Lily that they adopt Noah so he can get the
medical help he needs. After the surgery, when

the bandages come off, Noah realizes he's blind. It's probably because he finds
out he is now brothers with his lover. Damian

has other problems to deal with, well one problem really and her name is Meg.
When she cranks the screws on the torture rack,

Damian becomes unnerved. What's a guy to do? Sleep with her of course!
Liberty has a paper to write, but cannot focus. Like so many before her, she
looks for inspiration in the bottom of a bottle.

Dusty rides in on his white stallion and stops Liberty from drinking. She
unloads on Dusty and feels inspired to write her

essay. Janet could not be any more grateful to our knight in shining armour.
With Thanksgiving around the corner, I can say that long time viewers will be
happy that Nancy will make an appearance to

celebrate with the Hughes family. YAY!

From SOW:

Damian/Lily are going to adopt Noah when he needs a brain surgery.

Goutman talks about what's ahead for Jack/Carly

All My Children, ABC/A — Raising the Barr?
• Hell has frozen over. Despite Soaps In Depth reporting this week that Julia
Barr will not be returning to help celebrate

AMC's 40th anniversary on Jan. 5, SOAPnet.com announced that the Emmy winner
will be back! Joining Barr are Leven Rambin,

Laurence Lau, and Taylor Miller. Boy, are they all in for a rude awakening when
they receive their crayon-written scripts.

• He shoots, he scores! Earlier today, hockey whore Thorsten Kaye co-hosted The
View with BFF Whoopi Goldberg to celebrate

the Oscar winner's birthday. It's the first time a man has guest-co-hosted since
Mario Cantone back in 2007. It's also the

first time a soon-to-be unemployed soap actor hosted a talk show. According to
Digest, Kaye will last tape in early December.

• Kelly Ripa spoke to both Digest and Weekly regarding her return to All My
Hacks. The talk show princess reveals that her

Live! With Regis and Kelly producer, Michael Gelman, asked her to appear on the
soap's 40th anniversary show. Glad to know

Gelman dictates what we see on-screen. Maybe he could write the show, too. Hey,
it couldn't be any worse.

• Cameron Mathison assures fans in Weekly and Digest that he will continue to be
a correspondent for Good Morning America

when he moves to L.A. In story 411, Mathison relays that Erica and Ryan will be
involved very deeply by the time Greenlee

returns.

• What kind of special crack is Digest smoking because I want some! In this
week's issue the usually on-target critics chose

the Who Killed Stuart? reveal as their editor's choice! Um, are we watching the
same show?

As The World Turns, Global/CBS — Nuclear incest!
• One Life's loss is World Turns's gain. Daniel Cosgrove has chosen Oakdale as
his next soap home. Look for the

Emmy-nominated actor to debut in early 2010. At press time, no character
information was released.

• In story 411, Lily and Damian adopt Noah, who is an adult and their son's
lover. Seriously. So that would make Luke and

Noah "brothers" with off-screen benefits! In certain southern states, that would
be considered hot.

• That's soap vet Christopher Durham playing Congressman Whitman on Nov. 17 and
18. Durham will support Lesli Kay's

storyline. In Soap Weekly, Kay recalls her first day on World Turns: "I dropped
a robe and the entire crew was like, `Molly's

back.'" And so is freakin' Lesli Kay.

The Bold and the Beautiful, CBS/CTV — A White Christmas?
• Hurray —TV legend Betty White returns to B&B next week! But this may be the
last we see of the Emmy winner. Is Brad Bell

planning on killing Ann? Well, that's the rumour. Memo to Brad — no one kills
Betty White and lives to tell the tale. In

story, Ann returns to L.A. under mysterious circumstances prompting old
childhood issues between Pam and Stephers. Perhaps

that whore Steffy will come on to Ann since she's running out of people to
seduce.

• During an interview with Extra, Heather Locklear hinted that her real-life
beau Jack Wagner could appear on the Melrose

Place reboot. "It would be great fun," said Locklear, who adds that she wouldn't
want him to "kiss anyone else ... that's a

no-no." You've been warned, Ashley Jones. On an unrelated note, that sound you
hear is Hunter Tylo screaming, "I want to be

on Melrose Place, damn it! And I'm not pregnant — I swear!"

Days of our Lives, NBC/Global — Sami gets her baby!
• The crap hits the fan this week on DAYS. Do not miss a single day or you'll
regret it. Here's a preview — Sami gets her

baby back, Nicole is arrested, EJ learns the truth, and most importantly, Louise
Sorel and Crystal Chappell come face-to-face

as Vivian and Carly! Let the bitching begin!

• Yep, that's Roark Critchlow on TV's new breakout hit, V! Congrats.

• Marnie Saitta is at it again! Gabriela Rodriguez has been cast as Rafe and
Ari's sister, Gabi. The newcomer first airs on

Nov. 20.

• Because Twitter just doesn't reach enough people — Molly Burnett and Casey
Deidrick give another "exclusive" interview to

Digest on their epic romance. It's nauseating. "We are dorks," announces
Burnett. You can say that again, Molly.

Daytimeconfidential.com — Who needs soaps?
• Is Luke Kerr the new Rupert Murdoch? DC.com has been so successful that those
kooky kids have spun off two sister websites,

TV Fan Online and Movie Junkie. Check it out!

General Hospital, CTV/A — Will the original Lucky 3 L's reunite?
• Head writer Bob Guza-Marcil strongly hints to Soaps In Depth that Emmy winner
Genie Francis may be returning to GH sooner

than we expect.

• This is hilarious! I swear no other soap fan base in daytime has a sicker or
more hilarious sense of humour than GH

viewers!

• Congrats to Canadian Dominic Zamprogna who wed makeup artist fiancée Linda on
Nov. 1 in L.A.'s Griffith Park. Now cut your

hair, dude!

• It's raining men in Port Charles! Emmy winner Chad Brannon will be returning
to GH for one episode towards the end of the

year.

• Is it Valentin Day yet? As previously reported, GH has delayed Matt
Borlenghi's debut as Valentin Cassadine because of

Jonathan Jackson's return and James Franco's appointment until "winter or early
spring." I have to say, I'm eager and curious

to see what Borlenghi will do as the latest Cassadine spawn. Hurry up, Bob!
You've got me hooked again.

One Life To Live, ABC — Hello, you have no new viewers!
• According to The Advocate's Michael Fairman, Kyle and Fish will have sex
sometime before the end of the year. Fairman

writes, "the show promises a happy gay New Year in Llanview."

Speaking of the gays, why did One Life fail miserably when it came to promoting
their groundbreaking, historic gay nuptials?

When AMC aired their Reese and Bianca wedding, every single mainstream news
outlet and magazine promoted and covered the

event. Couldn't Brian Frons have booked Scott Evans and Brett Claywell on The
View or on Live! With Regis and Kelly? Gay

marriage is a hot topic right now, so One Life really dropped the ball. Why
didn't ABC ask gay marriage right advocates, like

Rosie O'Donnell or Ellen DeGeneres, to appear on the show as one of the married
couples or as the minister? I bet you a

billion dollars they would have jumped at the opportunity because they are
passionate about equality in America, especially

after what happened in Maine. And then they wonder why daytime is dying.
Pathetic. As Santa Barbara, Ryan's Hope and

Generations proved, writing a great soap just isn't enough. The marketing people
on soaps need to start thinking outside the

box and stop relying solely on soap magazine coverage. Heck, do I have to
produce a Scott Evans sex tape to get this show on

the map?

• La Fairman also interviews 620-time Emmy winner Erika
Slay-me-with-her-talents-zek about the cancellation rumours

surrounding One Life/One Death here.

RealityBytes, http://www.realitybytes-theseries.com — Drake who?
• We Love Soaps is reporting that former GH and B&B stud Ben Hogestyn has been
cast on Tristan Rogers' upcoming web soap as

Jacob Kaplan. Let's hope Rogers doesn't waste the actor's talents like his
former soaps did.

The Republic, http://www.therepublictv.com/index.html — The Republic sans Eric
Braeden!
• Here's your first look at Melody Thomas Scott's new web series, The Republic.
According to the show's website, the

principal photography and trailer will be completed by Thanksgiving. Loving the
hair colour, Mel.

Soapoperaweekly.com — Cover Idol!
• The wait is over — the top two cover finalists from each soap have been
revealed! The Top 5 winners will be announced in

December. For all the finalists, pick up the Nov. 24 issue of Weekly or head to
their website. Don't forget to pick up this

week's collector's 20th anniversary issue (we're all getting old — scary), which
is full of old cover shots and stories!

Welovesoaps.com — Why you should see this interview!
• How cute is this interview with Crystal Chappell and Damon Jacobs from the Day
of DAYS event?

Venice, venicetheseries.com — Première date announced!
• We Love Soaps is reporting the first airdate of Crystal Chappell's Venice is
slated for Nov. 27. Party at my house! Bring

your own carpet.

The Young and the Restless, CBS/Global — Confirmed — Bierdz out!
• A work of fiction or a work of truth? Y&R fans will find out when Victoria
Rowell's Secrets of a Soap Opera Diva is

released sometime in Spring 2010. La Rowell tells Suds-erella she "can't wait
for the launch to begin and reconnect with my

Y&R fans." Let the spitting begin!

• Worst comeback ever? Yep, that pretty much sums up Thom Bierdz's ill-conceived
return as gay Phillip Chancellor. What a

waste. Bierdz's comeback marked the beginning of Y&R's stunning descent into
crappiness. In story, Phillipa leaves Genoa City

for the Outback so he can protect Cane, which means daytime's first out contract
player will be off the canvas. But he could

be back. Or not.

• Just as I predicted, Carolyn Hinsey is ranting about Billy's unrealistic
takeover of Restless Style. It's hilarious. Check

out Hinsey's must-read antics in this week's Soap Opera Digest.

• Check out this Twitter account, Jabot Executive (Jabot_Cosmetics), for some

Soap Opera Digest Insider
  November 12, 2009
Dear Readers,
James Franco is about to begin his guest turn on GH, and it will be fun
seeing the movie heartthrob mix with the Port Charles mob. It should give
ratings a boost, too -- as Julie Marie Berman (Lulu) tells Digest in the
new issue, "I'm sure any girl who has hormones is going to tune in." But I
was surprised by a comment from GH Executive Producer Jill Farren Phelps.
She is rightfully proud of the casting coup, and excited about what it
means for GH. But her remark, "It's an honor that an actor of James's
caliber would choose to spend some of his valuable time in Port Charles,"
had me scratching my head. The truth is, GH is filled with actors of
Franco's caliber. Three quarters of that cast could hold their own with
the biggest stars in Hollywood (and the best actors, too). I'm sure the
talk about caliber referred to Hollywood hierarchy, not talent -- I expect
we'll see who's really raising the bar in the weeks to come. Tune in!

  TALES FROM THE INTERVIEW
Stephanie Sloane: I recently had a chance to chat with soaps' cutest
real-life duo, Molly Burnett (Melanie) and Casey Jon Deidrick (Chad). They
were in the DAYS publicity office, along with Burnett's mom, who was
visiting. Molly and Casey were very engaging and open about their romance
and even talked about a little behind-the-scenes "war" they're having with
James Scott (EJ):

Digest: What is it like to read about each other in the press?
Deidrick: Well, James [Scott, EJ] and I are fighting right now.
Burnett: James and Casey are in a war!
Digest: Why?
Deidrick: 'Cause I saw that little quote about Molly being filthy.
Burnett: Melanie! Melanie being filthy.
[Ed note: In the 10/27 Roundup, we asked, "Who should your character have
a fling with?" and Scott replied, "Melanie. She's like illegally young and
you know she'd be filthy."] Burnett: So he and my mom cornered James
Scott! Deidrick: James and I threw it down today, so he knows there will
be a battle.

To read more about these soap sweethearts, like how they tried to keep
their relationship a secret on set and what they like to do with their
time off, check out the new issue of Digest.

Devin Owens: I hope you enjoy my feature on Brenda Dickson (ex-Jill, Y&R),
and I won't be one bit surprised if you, like me, are appalled at the
legal injustice she endured for over two years. I found Brenda to be very
intelligent, articulate and one helluva fighter. As a longtime viewer of
Y&R, I remember well when Brenda's Jill wreaked havoc in Genoa City so it
was no surprise when, in 1986, the character got shot while taking a
shower in her hotel room. The suspects were many (including her husband
John and stepson Jack) but ultimately, the assailant turned out to be
hunky hotel masseuse Sven, played by Lee Nicholl. "Lee was my workout
instructor and he started bugging me to get him a job on Y&R," explains
Brenda. "No one's ever asked me that so I thought, 'Well, if he wants a
leg up, I'll see what I can do.' I introduced him to one of the producers
at Y&R, and they wrote him in as Jill's masseuse. He was dating Sonny
Bono's third wife, Susie Coelho, at the time and I remember she came over
to my condo to check me out. She wanted to know why this woman was giving
her boyfriend a job. She realized we were just friends, and I only wanted
to help him out. It turned out to be a great storyline. I remember when
tStar magazine did a feature on it called, 'Who Shot J.A.?' That was one
of my favorite stories." For more from Dickson, check out your new issue.

CAMPAIGN TRAIL
You gotta love soap fans' creativity -- Digest regularly receives doodads
and goodies from readers who know how to make a statement.

Vera Hadzi-Antich: OLTL's John and Natalie fans sent in a campaign
proclaiming the duo's "undeniable connection." They wrote, "Michael Easton
(John) and Melissa Archer (Natalie) have been amazing in this stalker
story! Their chemistry is magical, and they need to be reunited." I
suppose there's hope for John and Natalie fans -- more hope than the next
group of campaigners, the Zendall crew. Zendall supporters are saddened by
the news of Thorsten Kaye's (Zach) departure from the show and sent in a
really sweet postcard for Kaye and Alicia Minshew (Kendall) with the
message, "Thanks for the memories of Zach and Kendall that will not be
forgotten!"

GH fans can relate to Zendall's sadness as they beg GH to "not let your
Emmy winner get away!" They are so broken up that Natalia Livingston
(Rebbeca) is leaving the show (again). They wrote, "You let Natalia go
before ... don't let it happen again." The Jasam supporters are anything
but sad these days. They love how Jason and Sam worked together to find
clues that would help take Claudia down. They write, "I really like how
Jason [was] too sure about himself in finding evidence from Ian's
belonging, but Sam [kept] reminding him that he should trust in his
instincts because she does."

Jasam supporters never gave up on their couple -- even during some of the
worst times -- and ATWT's Paul and Meg hopefuls are no different. They
write, "Let the locket Meg gave to Paul in 2007 lead them back to each
other." And, of course, Campaign Trail wouldn't be complete without a Nuke
item! Nuke fans sent in a list of the many people who love Luke and Noah
-- included on the list are "grandmothers, shoppers, Europeans and
homemakers." They finish off the list by saying, "All kinds of people love
Nuke."

Thanks for the campaigns!

TYPE SET
Soap fans are a vocal bunch -- see what fellow viewers are saying about
their shows. I was actually crying at Claudia's demise. I had to remind
myself that it wasn't real. I felt Sonny should've sent Claudia out of the
country with a warning, considering Claudia did save Sonny's life. She was
truly sorry for what happened to Michael and didn't mean for him to get
hurt. Claudia made a lot of wrong choices, but I understood her. I will
miss her. Judith Molina, Brooklyn, NY

Q. I have always wondered if Christian LeBlanc (Michael, Y&R) is related
to Matt LeBlanc (Joey, FRIENDS)? I enjoy them both and have been curious

A. We get asked this a lot! They aren't related -- the same last name is
just a coincidence.

INSIDER POLL
Have your say in our exclusive subscriber-only poll. Last week, we asked:
Brad's ghost has haunted Henry and tried to reach Katie on ATWT. What do

I like it. It helps give the character closure. 76%

Here's this week's question:

What do you think about Sarah Brown's (Sandy, B&B; ex-Claudia, GH) new

I love it! B&B can always use fresh characters.
It's okay. I miss her on GH, though.

THE TOP 10 PLUS

1. Looks like Wednesday's BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL took all the mystery out of
where babies come from!

2. Apparently, GENERAL HOSPITAL's Maxie merely had a...er, "brunette
moment" after Sonny's party and went back to her lighter locks.

3. That "Whoo!" you hear is former PASSIONS viewers watching DAYS OF OUR
LIVES' Brady and Arianna (Eric Martsolf and Lindsay Hartley) making love.

4. B&B's brooding, black-wearing Bill donned sparkling, pure white for his
wedding to Katie. Does that make him a wolf in sheep's clothing?

5. AS THE WORLD TURNS' Margo really is a supercop: She went to Philly to
bail out Craig and Ro, and returned 10 minutes later to enjoy some wine at
the Lakeview!

6. You'd think YOUNG AND RESTLESS' Mac would have at least talked to Billy
before agreeing to be Lily and Cane's surrogate.

7. GH's Sonny and Carly, who battled again regarding where Michael will
live, should agree that he will not have a "normal life," wherever his
home might be.

8. DAYS' Rafe is a true rarity. He's one of the few lawmen in Salem who
actually solves cases.

9. ONE LIFE TO LIVE's newspaperman Clint is sure clueless about the
breaking news story that is Bo and Nora playing out right under his nose.

10. If THE VAMPIRE DIARIES' Damon keeps killing people, there's going to
be no one left on the show!

FOR YOUR EYES ONLY

?From Senior Writer/Editor Joe Diliberto: When GENERAL HOSPITAL's Lulu
tumbled into that water-filled basement in the old Zacchara mansion, Julie
Marie Berman and Dominic Zamprogna (Dominic) found themselves literally in
it up to their eyeballs. "There was a stunt double to do the actual fall,
but we were in the water for, like, 4 1/2 hours," explains Berman, who
notes she did not wear a wet suit under her clothing. "They had it warm;
it wasn't like a Jacuzzi, but if you're in there long enough, it
eventually starts getting cold. I had opportunities to get out, but I'd
rather stick it out and play the cold that I was actually getting. That
made it less work for me, because I was actually getting cold [laughs]!"

WHY WE CLAPPED

BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL's Jack Wagner garnered Applause, Applause kudos for
Issue 47 when Nick faced his fears of losing wife Bridget, just as he had
lost daughter Nicole.

NIGHTWATCH

?From Senior Writer/Editor Joe Diliberto: The third-season finale of MAD
MEN was a perfect example of an 11th-hour save. I found much of this
season to be a complete snooze. After promising big things with the story
of Don's birth and then outing Sal, the show quickly settled into a
workaday rut. But the last three or four episodes came back strong, led by
Betty's completely random discovery of Don's Shoebox o' Doom. It
conveniently gathered in one place all the documentation of Don's secret
life that Betty needed to bust him. But no matter what the MacGuffin, Jon
Hamm stepped up with a shattering soliloquy that justified his best actor
Emmy. And the final episode did the same for the series as a whole: When
Don, Roger, Bert and Lane set out to create a new agency, it was like MAD
MEN itself was being reborn. The mercenary machinations held special
relevance in today's cost-cutting age, as did the terror of being forced
to fend for one's self in a cold world. Don was suddenly without a job, a
family, or the comfort of his secret identity. Now what? See ya next
season, Don...er, Dick.

Prime-Time Revolving Door
?Musician Nelly reprises his role as informant Terrence Davis on CSI: NY
on Nov. 18.

?Gregg Henry (ex-Mitchum, GILMORE GIRLS) and Charlotte Ross (ex-Eve, DAYS
OF OUR LIVES; ex-Connie, NYPD BLUE) play Quinn's parents, Judy and Russell
Fabray; and Sarah Drew (Kitty, MAD MEN; ex-Hannah, EVERWOOD) is Suzy
Pepper on the Nov. 18 episode of GLEE.

?Alona Tal and Samantha Ferris return to SUPERNATURAL as demon hunters Jo
and Ellen on Nov. 19.

?Reiko Aylesworth (ex-Rebecca, ONE LIFE TO LIVE; ex-Michelle, 24) will
recur on next year's DAMAGES as the wife of a character ensnared in a
financial scandal.

?Pop star Lady Gaga is recruited to perform at Blair's party on the Nov.
16 episode of GOSSIP GIRL.

?Tom Verica (ex-Jack, AMERICAN DREAMS) plays Det. Aaron Carver, and Mitch
Pileggi (ex-Skinner, THE X-FILES; ex-Caldwell, STARGATE ATLANTIS) plays
Dan Burroughs, the founder of the company where Joe works, on MEDIUM Nov.
20.

?From Copy Editor Marc Wilkofsky: This season's DANCING WITH THE STARS
celebs have rocked the dance floor, but Donny Osmond (who had a guest
stint on ALL MY CHILDREN in 2006) has brought worlds of personality to the
ABC show. Sure, he's often been goofy, but he's an all-around showman who
enjoys the best rapport with the judges, proved he can ace the serious
dances (his Argentine tango with partner Kym Johnson brought in a 29) and
has poured extra entertainment into a season that has needed every drop.
Singer/actress Mya has been consistently stunning and will probably win,
but she and Dmitry Chaplin's attempts at perfection don't beat Osmond's
unpredictability, on and off the floor.

THE WE IN WEEKLY
Personal Words From Weekly Staffers

?From News Editor Mala Bhattacharjee: With both AS THE WORLD TURNS and ONE
LIFE TO LIVE on at 2, as well, I've been a few weeks behind with DAYS OF
OUR LIVES. But I made a point to catch up on SOAPnet this week (the show
airs at 10, which fills the hole that GUIDING LIGHT left quite nicely).
Boy, am I glad I did! Seeing familiar face Wally Kurth (ex-Ned, GH)
actually getting utilized ? in his old role of competent lawyer Justin ?
is awesome. And I really like Justin's vibe with Crystal Chappell's newly
returned Carly. Ethan and Theresa...er, Brady and Arianna...are luminous
together. And, of course, there's baby Sydney. My goodness, that child is
adorable. I could watch her all day, and completely believe how deeply
devoted Nicole is to her. Speaking of which, Alison Sweeney absolutely
killed the scenes where Rafe told Sami that Sydney is hers. I'm a big ol'
softie about babies and children anyway, but Sweeney really gave her all,
and I love that the writers didn't forget Sami's deep love for Grace.

?From Editor Michael Karol: Now that we know a drugged Adam killed his
twin Stuart on ALL MY CHILDREN, thinking he was taking his own life, we
can forget plot mechanics and simply marvel at the wonderful performance
David Canary is giving. When Ryan let on that he knew Adam did it, the
shocked look of understanding on Canary's face was priceless and poignant.
And when Annie blurted out that she was pregnant (to keep Adam's mind off
of confessing), the joy mixed with sadness Canary projected changed
quickly to the resolution to start a new family. That meant he wouldn't be
confessing, and he had to tell Erica her daughter Kendall couldn't return
home anytime soon. I'm not even mentioning his encounters with nephew
Scott and son JR. Although Adam puts up a strong front, Canary subtly lets
us see the tortured man underneath.

?From Managing Editor Gabrielle Winkel: What's with Viki's sons-in-law on
OLTL? They all have such tragic endings. First there was poor Nash, who
tumbled throught a skylight. And now it's Jared, who was just shot by
Mitch. On the upside, both Forbes March and now John Brotherton had some
pretty great dying scenes. I wept.

IT'S MY PARTY

?From West Coast Editor Janet Di Lauro: DAYS OF OUR LIVES fans lined up to
meet and greet their favorite daytime cast at the second annual Day of
Days event at CityWalk at Universal Studios Hollywood on Saturday, Nov. 7.
Sometimes the prospect of soap fan meeting soap actor can mean a little
nervousness for both parties. "There are a lot of people screaming my
character's name; people screaming my name," said Dylan Michael Patton
(Will). "It's overwhelming." Taylor Spreitler (Mia) feared she'd make a
bad entrance. "I was afraid I was going to trip walking out there," she
revealed. Shelley Hennig (Stephanie), who's done the public appearance
thing before, was calmer. "It's nice to see everyone," she smiled. "The
fans are so dedicated. They watch Monday through Friday. It's nice to have
a hands-on event where we can really meet them, see what they're about,
say hello and thank you." Jay Kenneth Johnson (Philip) concurred: "It was
good to see everybody. I see a lot of the same faces every year." Bryan R.
Datillo (Lucas) fielded questions about when Lucas was getting out of
rehab and his new haircut. "I cut my hair. I got sick of it being long,"
shared Dattilo. "I go against the grain. I go [with] long hair in the
summer and short hair in the winter." Crystal Chappell (Carly) and Louise
Sorel (Vivian) were touched by the warm welcome back. "I was shocked,
considering I'd been gone 10 years," admitted Sorel. As for the funniest
actor/fan encounter of the day, Wally Kurth (Justin) shared the following
story involving Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe). "There was one guy who was really
funny. He was there with his wife," recounted Kurth. "He was tall, a
little overweight, and had tattoos all over his arms. He came up and said
[to Bjorlin], 'I don't really watch the show, but whenever my wife tells
me you're on, I come running in. Just tell me: Do you like fat, white
tattooed men?" Bjorlin didn't miss a beat. "I told him, 'Sure. Yeah,'"
laughed the actress.

The Suds Report: Oct. 30, 2009
By Nelson Branco

Exclusive: Was Sean Kanan fired from `Y&R'? Plus: Eric Braeden on his brief
"divorce" from Sony! Greg Vaughan joins `90210'! Nadia Bjorlin replaces
Elizabeth Keener on `Venice'! Do-or-die time for `World Turns'! `AMC' — No new
opening credits! Confirmed: Nat Livingston out at `GH'! `B&B's Steffy kisses
Bill! `One Life's Mitch is Rex's daddy!

SUDSIEST QUOTES OF THE WEEK:
"It was rehabilitation … from the negotiations. He's been cured miraculously!
Miracles do happen. A week ago, I didn't think they would."
—Eric Braeden to EW.com on re-signing with Sony
Translation: Apparently, miracles cost $500,000.

"Hmmm … oh, what's the name? Oh yeah, Cougar Town!"
—Carolyn Hennesy to Digest when asked what her favourite new fall TV show is
Translation: What. A. Stupid. Question!

"I read blogs where people say, `I don't need to watch this gay stuff on my
television!' I'm like, `Are you blind?' Are you not living in the same world I'm
living in? Because gays are all over prime time. They're all over the news with
`Don't Ask, Don't Tell' and the fight for equality. I hate to break it to you
Midwest, but there are gay people all over the United States!"
—One Life's Scott Evans to TV Guide Magazine's Michael Logan regarding
homophobic TV viewers
Translation: And they act on and write your favourite soaps!

"Such is the nature of awards. Nearly every field of human endeavour has a
regular prize. And nearly every prize seems to regularly go to a clearly
undeserving winner. Woody Allen's character complained in Annie Hall, "They're
always giving out awards. Best Fascist Dictator: Adolf Hitler." If an award like
that really did exist, though, they'd probably end up giving it to Mussolini."
—Jonathan Chait writes about the condition of awards in The New Republic
Translation: That explains The Daytime Emmy Awards!

"No [this is not classic Dorian]. It's totally unexpected Ron Carlivati
visioning. It doesn't fall into a pocket of classic Dorian. Classic usually to
me infers this is what has been the trademark of this character in the past, and
this is so out of left field. I think people would've bet money that Dorian
would do just about anything to take the election away from Viki, but to
actually stand there and declare herself not just a lesbian, but, by the way,
here is my fiancé. We didn't make a big deal about it, but she's [Amelia] also a
woman of colour. Hello!"
—Robin Strasser to out.com regarding her risky gay-for-pay storyline
Translation: I'm not impressed, Ron.

All My Children, A/ABC — Here comes the hair model!
• The beautiful but oh-so-untalented Denise Vasi revealed on Twitter that she
got engaged over the weekend. According to ABC Soaps in Depth, Vasi met her
finance, Sevan Arslanian, at the birthday party of a friend. Congrats to the
happy couple. Now take an acting class, honey!

• Another actor not making the L.A. move is Lucy Merriam, who plays Emma.
Cameron Mathison tells Digest that the role will be recast. "I'll miss her so
much," Mathison said. "It will be very hard to recast."

• Despite reports, AMC is not receiving new opening credits. However, the show
will be filming new cast members, including a fresh Rebecca Budig shot, for its
opening montage.

• Soaps In Depth made a mistake captioning a picture of Cameron Mathison exiting
a taxi. The magazine claims Mathison was making a mad dash to the ABC studios,
but he's really on 72nd Street and not 66th Street. I know because I used to
live on 72nd street.

• While Soaps In Depth claims there are no current plans to bring back Cady
McClain to AMC, Suds Report hears otherwise.

• According to soapoperadigest.com, Eva La Rue has been approached about
returning to AMC for the 40th anniversary episodes — if AMC can work with CSI
Miami's schedule.

As The World Turns, Global/CBS — Do-or-die time in November!
• Several concerned sources tell The Suds Report that CBS will be watching the
ratings during November Sweeps in order to determine the future of World Turns.
So start tuning in now if you want Oakdale to live another year. "We're pulling
out all the stops this month to atone for our past mistakes," says one insider.
"Tell everyone to watch World Turns this month. If not, we're going to be
cancelled."

• Say ciao to Ewa da Cruz! Digest reports that Vienna will leave town for a
while.

• Bravo to the cast of World Turns! I tuned in to watch my favourite World Turns
character, Brad Snyder, die. All in all, the fallout has been amazing. Terri
Colombino tore my heart out when Katie learned Brad had died before he could see
their son. But these tour-de-force performances are still not worth losing
Austin Peck.

• That was fast — Forbes March tells Suds Report that he's out as scarf whore
Mason. Click here to read my revealing interview with March.

	 As the World Turns, CBS
• Here's the schedule of returning stars this upcoming month! Tune in, soapers!
Peter Parros as Ben (Nov. 6), Mark Collier as Mike (Nov. 11), Lesli Kay as Molly
(Nov.17) and Paul Leyden as Simon (Nov. 20).

• Perfection isn't in the details, according to CBS's marketing department, who
misspelled World Turns as As The WORD Turns in a recent promo. D'oh!
Daytimeconfidential.com's reader "Season" made me laugh out loud when he wrote
that the 'L' in World was currently embroiled in contract negotiations with
TeleNext!

• Hear Colleen Zenk Cougar roar! Daytimeconfidential.com aired a fantastic
interview with my soap crush, the fierce Colleen Zenk Pinter. Click here to hear
the soap chat now! Isn't it fun to see Pinter's career on fire again?

• DVR Alert — Emmy winner Maura West is back as Carly this Monday! Let's pray
West has tied her tubes or I am going to start calling her OctoMom, Maura Plus
8, or The Woman in the Shoe.

The Bold and the Beautiful, CBS/CTV — The slut from Beverly Hills!
• Meet the neighbours from the valley — Barry Livingston and Erin Moran appear
as married couple Mike and Kelly from the Logan family's old neighbourhood on
Nov. 12 and 13.

• Choose your favourite Soap Opera Weekly cover featuring the incest bunch, B&B,
here! I chose Kimberlin Brown and Tracey Bregman's "Yikes" cover because that's
the way I roll, `yo.

• Will Stephanie start calling Steffy, the slut from Beverly Hills? In story
411, Steffy kisses Bill after he hires her as a fashion designer!

• Heather Tom has finally blossomed into the beautiful and sexy woman I always
knew was hiding underneath that awkward cocoon of hers. Also, her sexy new body
is out of control (all that marathon running is paying off). Next time the Logan
sisters treat Katie like an ugly duckling, I hope Tom slaps the writers.

Days of our Lives, NBC/Global — Carly versus Hope!

• Choose your favourite Soap Opera Weekly DAYS cover here. Since Weekly was once
known as Days of our Lives Weekly, there are a lot of covers to choose from. I
ended up voting twice because I couldn't decide between Drake Hogestyn's solo
cover, and Crystal Chappell/Robert Kelker-Kelly/Lisa Rinna/Michael Sabatino's
"Full House" shoot.
http://www.soapoperadigest.com/BB-Covers.html

• Muscles Fridays! Turn to page 81 in Soap Opera Digest to swoon over a
super-hot picture of Eric Martsolf in Very Hot Shots. "Just look at those
muscles," squeals Arianne Zucker.

• Next week, Hope finds Carly in Bo's bed! Since Crystal Chappell and Kristian
Alfonso never worked together before, I'm dying to see this beautiful face-off —
literally! Bo's one lucky guy!

General Hospital, ABC

General Hospital, CTV/A — Vaughan goes postal!
• Those fine folks at GH have finally confirmed the departure of Natalia
Livingston. "We were thrilled that we were able to get Natalia back for a second
run, after her Emmy-winning turn as Emily Quartermaine," noted a show
spokesperson in a statement. Yeah, let's pretend Rebecca never happened, shall
we?

• Don't believe the rumour that states Jonathan Jackson only re-signed with ABC
for six months. The Emmy winner is back for a multiple-year stint, report
sources close to Jackson.

• See, there was no reason to worry about Greg Vaughan. The handsome and
talented actor has already secured work. Vaughan has joined the cast of the
vastly improved 90210. Now spend your valuable time worrying for an actor who
really needs your prayers, Colin Egglesfield!

• Don't expect Vanessa Marcil to return to GH until "2010," says a source to
Soap Opera Digest. "There are too many things going on to accommodate Brenda's
return. That's why they had to push back the Cassadine story. They just can't
add another big event to the canvas right now. Their thinking is, `Let's spread
the wealth out.'"
• Claudia dies on GH this week! But I had to roll my eyes when I learned that
Carly and Claudia are involved in yet another car crash! Memo to soap characters
— when you get into a car with your rival, one of you will end up dead. Michael
ends up killing Claudia when the mob psycho tries to steal Carly's baby.

• Las Vegas and Lost's Marsha Thomason has been cast as a "mystery woman"
involved in James Franco's story on General Hospital, according to Soap Opera
Digest. Not exactly the Las Vegas actress we were hoping would land on GH, but
she'll do.

• Kelly Monaco tells Soaps In Depth that she won't be tying the knot anytime
soon. Not because she hasn't ever been asked, but because, "I don't believe in
marriage at this point. I believe in the concept of marriage and monogamy. But I
don't believe in the paper. Not until we all can get married."

One Life To Live, ABC — Blame Mitch Lawrence for Rex Balsom!
• Stop the presses! One Life miraculously scored a full-image Soap Opera Digest
cover on the heels of securing prime real estate on last week's Soap Opera
Weekly! Featuring John-Paul Lavoisier, the magazine reveals that Mitch is Rex's
father! I just pray One Life doesn't kill off Mitch again in another lame murder
mystery. If Roscoe Born doesn't stick around permanently, please ship Mitch out
of town or throw him in jail. If Llanview buys another umpteenth Mitch murder,
I'm writing them all off as morons. Also returning is one of the worst recasts
in daytime history, Ann Hamilton (GL's Mindy) as Rex's Aunt Corrine, who along
with Brody's sister, Nadine, kidnaps Rex before revealing the DNA truth.

• I have to echo Robin Strasser's concerns over Dorian's decision to pretend
she's a friend of Crystal Chappell's in order to secure the gay vote. Couldn't
she have accomplished the same thing by throwing a mass gay wedding ceremony and
paying for it? The Dorian I know and love would never concede to anyone that her
rival, Viki, could beat her in the mayoral race — polls or no polls. The Dorian
I know and love would have relied on Viki's mentally unbalanced, murderous past,
and the fact that she owns a newspaper to win. Viki could have hit back, too,
which would have provided an organic platform to revisit the rivals' past. Once
again, head writer Ron Carlivati prefers to write Dorian like Alexis Colby, and
not, you know, Dorian Lord, who is a far more interesting character. I'd like to
see how Dorian explains that she's no longer a lesbian to Llanview's gay
community once the election is over. One step forward, two steps back! In the
end, Dorrie isn't doing us any favours by claiming she's one of us — especially
for a publicity stunt. Especially for homophobic people who claim homosexuality
is a choice. Also, considering the winner will be determined by one vote —
Markko — did Dorian really need to go to all this trouble? I would think Dorian
would hate the fact that she has to lie to win the mayoral race. Dorian is too
proud to admit to Viki that she had to pull off a stunt to beat her. Regardless,
this groundbreaking storyline is fun to watch and is extremely well-written, so
I can overlook this contrived, faux-gay twist. In casting news, look for Wortham
Krimmer to officiate the gay nuptials on crack. One Life to Live, ABC

• Sherri Saum is bringing home the fried, fatty bacon to Kamar De Los Reyes! Not
only can Saum be seen on two of my favourite shows, In Treatment and Rescue Me,
but she has also landed a recurring role on Gossip Girl.

• Turn to page 22 in this week's Soap Opera Weekly for a cute interview with
that scene-stealing little punk, Carmen LoPorto! Doesn't One Life have the best
younger cast in the business? Maybe one day, the Daytime Emmy Awards will
realize this fact.

Venice, venicetheseries.com — Bjorlin casting switcheroo!
• Crystal Chappell must have lost my phone number. Due to Elizabeth Keener's
illness, Nadia Bjorlin has taken over the high profile role of Lara. Keener will
appear on the series as a different character in the second season. Bjorlin
tells me the emergency switcheroo was made at the very last minute. "Crystal
Chappell called me two hours before they had to film," says the excited beauty.
"Thanks to this role, I'm an even bigger lesbian!" Not possible, Nadia, not
possible! We all know Brandon Beemer is your beard, er, stubble! In the story,
Bjorlin will fight Chappell for Jessica Leccia's Ani. According to Bjorlin,
Chappell even directed an episode the other day.

WelovesoapsTV, welovesoaps.net — Who needs SOAPnet?
• Here's a preview of the second episode of We Love Soaps TV on the set of
Venice. Enjoy!

The Young and the Restless, CBS/Global — Kanan is Able! Plus — Braeden speaks to
ET Canada!
• Real or rumour? Soap Opera Weekly is claiming Sean Kanan was fired from Y&R.
Kanan, who is currently on recurring status, tells Suds Report exclusively that
he has not been let go. The actor assures viewers that his storyline is just
merely winding down over the next few weeks, but he will be back on the show
soon. "They scripted a short-term storyline for me with a beginning, middle and
end to test the waters and gauge viewer reaction to Deacon," explains Kanan.
"Paul Rauch assures me that I'm still on the show because my entry into Genoa
City has been very successful from all angles. Deacon may be off for a while
until the writers have time to pen me a bigger storyline. Now would be the
perfect time for Deacon to briefly visit [B&B]."

Kanan is upset over messages on the Sony and CBS Y&R board claiming he was fired
because he had allegedly fallen off the wagon. "I'm livid," he announces. "My
family, friends and eight-year-old daughter reads these message boards. These
accusations are libelous — and not true. I've worked my Goliath ass off to be
sober, so I resent these anonymous posters trying to ruin my career. I'm proud
that I'm sober, so for them to state otherwise is just astounding and cruel. I'm
just a father trying to make a living here, people."

I have to say, I completely agree with Kanan. These contentious message boards
are out of control. Perhaps if posters were forced to use their real names and
faces, then it would be easier to seek these cowards out. Say what you want, but
own it, people!

• He continues to speak! Eric Braeden gave an interview to ET Canada on
re-signing with those cold bastards at Sony. Here's what the Emmy winner had to
say:

On contract negotiations:
"Obviously, one's first reaction is one of anger. It is like going through a
divorce, it is like losing someone. It is, when you've worked on a show for as
long as I have, and have given everything you have to it, and have proudly
identified with it and pushed it and publicized it, then to suddenly become
funded with that reality ... makes you angry."

The fan reaction:
"[The fan reaction] had a lot to do with my change of heart. The viewers were so
vehement in their expressions of disappointment and anger that I was profoundly
moved by that. And I'm going to come back to Genoa City and take some prisoners,
you know? Some people need to be taken care of. We need to make people aware of
the fact that Victor has finally woken up to Adam's shenanigans, Jack's
shenanigans, and Billy's shenanigans, so I wanna come back."

On his loyal Canadian fans:
"Look, I've been going to Canada for years, for the last nearly 30 years. I love
to go over there. I love Canadian fans. They're very expressive, very vocal
about their support. I was particularly moved by their expressions of upset with
the possibility that the character Victor Newman could leave the show. And they
had a hell of a lot to do with it. They really did. I've had nothing but
positive reactions in Canada for all these years, so I have a very soft spot in
my heart for Canadians, and the Canadian audience that watches the show. People
are very nice up there. They really are. Very civilized, and very nice. And very
loyal."

On his life mantra:
"I'm the friendliest guy. But if you come to me in any other way, I have a
corresponding reaction. That's just who I am. I grew up during very tough times,
after the war, during the war in Germany. And you learn to fight. You take no
shit. That's all. Is that a word in the Canadian vocabulary?"

His co-stars' reaction:
"I heard from some, yes. Mostly from Melody Thomas Scott who plays Nikki, who
was obviously very concerned. Others were concerned. Sharon Case [called]. And
others were simply waiting to see whether this would come to an end or not."

Post-contract negotiations:
"We haven't had a tequila yet. So, are there remnants of bitterness? Um, not on
my side, you know? It's one of the things you learn growing up where I grew up
and the notion of forgiveness. There's no sense in harbouring continuing
resentments to forgive and you forget. And I would say that is the most
important part of the Christian legacy, to forgive. And in the end, that is what
all enemies have to do."
