JULY, 2009 PREVIEWS

Forrester Creations makes a comeback, but Pam has "golden" intentions for
showstopper Donna.
Former Forrester PR man Whip Jones returns to L.A. and gets a job at
Jackie M, but he quickly reveals that he has some stunning "designs" of his own.
Brooke and Ridge find themselves at the mercy of the fates, as well as
their children.

Spoilers/Rumors for Upcoming Shows

Please Note that anything marked as "RUMOR" is unconfirmed and may not occur

ball Forrester and Jackie M battle it out on the runway in August when a
socialite friend of Stephanie's stages a charity fashion duel between the design
houses. Talk show host Rich Ginger and event planner extaordinaire Serge return
to B&B to judge the competition, along with TV personality Melissa Rivers.
ball Looking for work and a little humbled. Whip Jones returns to L.A.,
having suffered at the hands of the economy. After having worked at several
Eurpopean fashion houses since leaving Forrester International, Whip comes home.
But rather than go crawling to Forrester, he goes to Jackie M and is hired by
Stephanie. La Forrester wants him to take Brooke's mind off of Ridge, and his
first episode paired with Brooke ends in a kiss.
ball As reported in B&B News, Rick Hearst returns to B&B as Whip in July.
What brings Whip back to Los Angeles? It's not so much what as who. Stephanie
orchestrates his return, presumably to oversee the PR campaign for Jackie M —
though Jackie (wisely) suspects that a secret agenda is at play.
ball In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Executive Producer/Head
Writer Bradley Bill dropped some hints about B&B:
o The tension between the Forresters and the Logans continues at
Forrester. It may look like the Logans are on top, but don't count the
Forresters out just yet.
o The show will continue its return to being about two warring fashion
houses with the re-emergence of Jackie M. While Bell still has no plans to kill
off Sally Spectra (whose portrayer, Darlene Conley, died in 2007), Jackie will
be picking up where Sally left off, albeit in a more sophisticated manner
befitting actress Lesley-Anne Down.
o Rick, Bridget, Steffy and Thomas will be on the forefront as the
next generation of characters.
o Brooke, Donna and Katie will all be driving story.
o With Jackie M back in the mix, look for more interaction between
Stephanie and Jackie.

Out of control...

THIS WEEK ON: AS THE WORLD TURNS

Tom begins to dig into Riley's background on Monday, July 6. That same day,
Liberty and Parker slowly rebuild their friendship. Lily and Dusty work together
to get the goods on what happened to Damian's boat, Thursday, July 9.

The Inside Story: Hitting Rock Bottom
With her wedding quickly approaching, Carly is a basket of nerves when she can't
come up with an idea on how to design her dress. Desperate, Carly heads to
Fashions and buys a dress, quickly cutting the tags in order to pass it off as
something she made. Shortly after, Rosanna arrives at Carly's and spots the
dress. Carly quickly covers but is later busted when they head back to Fashions
where Rosanna spots the exact same dress. Rosanna realizing that Carly is not
being honest with her begins snooping at her house and finds the cut tags along
with alcohol hidden throughout her home. When confronted Carly quickly lies and
tells her it's only on ocassion but Rosanna tells her she doesn't believe her.
Upset by this, Carly hustles her sister over to Margo and Tom's to join everyone
else for the wedding. The minute Ro leaves, however, Carly puts on her dress and
instantly starts in on the drinking; even knocking more back inside the limo. At
Tom and Margo's Rosanna lays into Craig for turning a blind eye to Carly's
drinking, unaware that she has arrived and has heard everything. Upset and
humiliated at being discussed, Carly turns back around and gets into the limo
and starts drinking again. Everyone realizes that Carly hasn't arrived and Craig
covers his feelings. Carly, in the meantime, has found her way over to Lily's
but finds herself face-to-face with Holden, who tries his best to be there for
her. Upon her request, Holden takes her to the Wagon Wheel where she comes on to
him and it is then Holden realizes how drunk she is Things get bad for Carly
when she passes out and has to be taken to the hospital by Holden and Jack, who
he called for assistance, and learn that her stomach had to be pumped due to
alcohol poisoning. Rosanna and Craig arrive shortly after to see about her.
While there, Rosanna pulls Jack asside and tells him that he needs to be the one
to help her with Carly. Jack, unfortunately doesn't want to get in the middle
since Janet has fussed in the past about his being Carly's knight in shining
armor.

A Closer Look: Letting Go

that it is time to move in with one another. While packing Noah discovers a box
of things belonging to Col. Mayer and he freaks out leaving Luke concerned.

in search for him. When they find him, Noah confides in Damian, letting him know

Y&R PreVuE: Week of July 6 Edition

Sunday, July 5, 2009 1:18 AM ET | By Venus Stone

Jeanne Cooper portrays Katherine Chancellor on 'The Young and the Restless'
-- A return worth explaining...

THIS WEEK ON: THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS

Heather gets the taste slapped out her mouth by a furious Phyllis, on Tuesday,
July 7. That same day Nick decides to break the law. Phyllis decides to go to
Sharon for a listening ear on Wednesday, July 8.

The Inside Story: A Homecoming Unexplained
After the shock of learning that Cane has lied to all about being Jill's son,
they are even further floored when the real Phillip enters very much alive and
well. Katherine filled with shock and disbelief falls to the ground and is
quickly rushed to the hospital. Olivia, who's on call instantly takes charge and
learns that Katherine has had a stroke. Meanwhile back at the Chancellor estate,
everyone still wants answers from both Phillip and Cane. Phillip explains that
at the time of his 'accident' he was not only an alcholic but also in a
depressed/suicidal state; deciding to end it all by arranging to kill himself in
the car. He goes on to tell all how he came upon Cane in Australia and made
arrangements for him to pretend to be him. Billy, who has happened upon the
revelation with Chloe, decks Cane. Cane soon admits to Billy and Chloe that he
knew that Billy was always the father of Cordelia; stating that at the time of
the paternity test, he used Phillip's blood when making the determination of who
the baby's father was. Lily, along with Neil, is furious that Cane has been
lying to her for years. Cane tries in vain to get Lily to understand that in all
the times that he has been with her, he not once lied about his feelings for
her. Unwilling to listen to anything he has to say, Lily snatches off her
wedding ring and gives it to him, while Neil warns him to stay away from his
daughter; or else. Once alone with Phillip, a furious Cane demands to know why
Phillip suddenly decided to come back to Genoa City after all.

A Closer Look: Demented and Dangerous
Doing her best to keep her true identity underwraps, Mary Jane works hard at
keeping her enemies in line. Mary Jane, arriving at the hospital, peeks in on a
comatose Summer and sits by her bedside 'talking' to her on how everything will
work out as she hopes. Victor, who is also at the hospital spots Mary Jane in
his granddaughter's room and instantly tells the woman to leave her alone. Back
at her office, Heather, thanks to Mary Jane's lies, works hard to figure out how
she intentionally came in contact with peanuts. Victor, who is beginning to
wonder about Mary Jane, heads over to her suite at the G.C.A.C. When he arrives
he finds himself looking at a collage of photos of Jack, Sharon and Phyllis. The
minute Mary Jane returns to her suite she is stunned to find him there and
begins to question why he snuck into her room. Keeping his cool, Victor
announces to her that he thinks that a trip out of town for a bit would do her
some good.

Y&R possibly recasting a role

Is Vail Bloom (Heather Stevens) leaving The Young and the Restless? While
questions over her status -- recurring, contract, or otherwise -- rage on, there
is belief that the show is using some of the actress' old scripts to recast
another role on the show.

For the second time in a year, actress Vail Bloom (Heather Stevens)) is the
subject of ouster rumors. And, for the second time, it appears that the rumors
are off the mark.

As the calendar turned over to a new year, insiders hinted that Bloom had been
taken off contract with The Young and the Restless. A rep for the actress issued
an immediate denial, stating that Bloom's "option was just picked up," meaning
that fans would be seeing a lot more of the actress.

The agent's remarks were met by more whispers that Bloom's stay was merely
extended by another 13 weeks -- and that she'd be downgraded to recurring status
immediately thereafter.

Well, it's now just about two contract cycles -- or 26 weeks -- later, and
there's word that Bloom has, in fact, been demoted to recurring status.
Moreover, there are behind-the-scenes rumblings that the role of Heather may be
recast. The recast rumors first cropped up when Y&R's casting department
recently began using some of Heather's old scripts to audition a new wave of
actresses.

Soap Opera Digest reports that the magazine was told "not to assume the show is
recasting the lovely lawyer." A show source echoes the report, telling
soapcentral.com that the show doesn't want anyone to catch on to the role that
they are really recasting.

If it is to be believed that the role in question is a character around the same
age and ethnicity as Heather, there are few characters currently on the canvas
that would fit that mold. soapcentral.com has heard rumblings that the show may
very well be recasting the role of Mackenzie Browning. Fans have been vocal over
the past few months about their displeasure with the show's placement of
Clementine Ford in the role.

Some Internet postings claim that the script is being used to secretly recast
the role of Nikki Newman. Long-time veteran Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman)
and show executives are at odds on a new contract. A source dismisses those
claims as "unlikely."

A spokesperson for The Young and the Restless had no comment

As everyone sees that the real Phillip is alive, Kay collapses from the stress
and Neil calls 911. Amidst the chaos, Nina finally notices that Phillip slipped
out unseen by anyone. Meanwhile, just as Billy and Mac are finally about to make
love after six years of waiting they are interrupted by their phones that won't
stop ringing and they both realize something could be wrong. At the hospital,
Jill and Murphy try to keep Kay calm as Olivia checks her over. Olivia is pretty
confident that Kay has had a mild stroke. Moments later, Murphy slips out of the
room when he sees Phillip out in the hall. Meanwhile, everyone tries to get Cane
to leave the Chancellor estate. but Lily is the only one who wants to hear him
out. Later, Kay demands that Phillip explain himself to her, Jill and Nina. Cane
finally admits to everyone the total and complete truth about his life and how
he grew up alone on the streets and then met "Langley." Meanwhile, Phillip
explains his plan to help Cane find a family and to help Jill and Kay heal by
replacing himself with another son. Cane begs Lily to believe that every time he
told her he loved her and wanted a life with her it was the truth.

Neil refuses to let Cane anywhere near Lily as he leads her out of the house and
Billy finally gets the chance to punch Cane. At the hospital, Nina, Jill and Kay
are all reeling over Phillip's story but things go from bad to worse when
Phillip admits that his accident was never an accident. Later, Phillip explains
how he felt trapped in his own life and that he tried to kill himself but when
that didn't work he needed to get out. Cane reveals to Billy and Chloe how he
switched vials of blood during the DNA test for Delia and that he knew Billy had
to be Delia's father all along but he couldn't risk exposing the truth without
exposing himself. Nina unleashes her anger on Phillip over having to raise their
son without him and allowing him to believe his father was dead all these years.
Phillip blurts out that he would never have been a good father because he would
have resented his son like he resents all of them. Later, Cane demands to know
why Phillip came back to town

Another pic of those on the cover plus a pic of Kay & Phillip from 2004 with a
caption that says her seeing his ghost must have been a figment of Kay's
imagination.

Kay has another mini-stroke. Murphy and Jill rush her to the hospital. Cane must
face his family and friends who have become foes, starting with Lily.

DG says Cane wanted to confess and that the truth was eating away at him. He was
just too far into the lie to do it. Once Nina confronted them all about the
frozen blood there was just no way out so he admitted it. He's actually grateful
and sees it as a 'cleansing moment.'

Phillip wants to take the heat of Cane so he steps up to offer his explanation
of what happened.

ON SUNDAY JULY 5 YOU CAN GO TO cbs.soapsindepth.com TO LEARN WHAT PHILLIP'S BIG
SECRET IS.

TB says Phillip had low self-esteem and felt like he'd be better off isolated.
But he wanted to make amends with his family so he sent Cane. He believed that
the Phillip everyone really wanted is who Cane really is. He thought it would be
fine until Cane kept calling him to tell him how Nina wasn't letting it go.

Picture of Jill, Phillip, and Nina with caption "People shut down at times likes
this" says JW

*************************************************

Cover Story part 2

Both men try to convince people to no avail that their intent was noble and not
nefarious.

DG says that Neil throws Cane against a wall and Billy punches him. Cane can't
hit back and he feels a lot of shame.

Lily is "disappointed" but only gets more upset when she realizes he could have
stopped months of agony over the whole baby-daddy mess with Chloe.

Jill is just in shock. She is "nearly catatonic." JW says that with Nina's
involvement Jill may have been a little prepared for the Cane reveal but not for
Phillip being alive.

Katherine begins to recover at the hospital and realizes that her memories of
baby-switching were false. She was drunk and was told so often that it happened
that she came to believe it herself says JC.

Cane arrives and wants to apologize again so she agrees to see him. Cane says
how sorry he is but she tells him he has a lot of nerve, which he acknowledges.
He says again how he wanted to heal the family.

Katherine refuses to forgive either one but JC is more positive. She thinks Kay
will forgive Phillip b/c she lived a lie for so long herself. And she'll forgive
Cane b/c she understands that he was an orphan---as was Victor.

Pic of Phillip and Nina saying that his return costs her the fond memories she
has of her marriage. Lane pic saying it all may cost Cane his wife.

Cover Story part 3

"Will Cane leave GC?"

Cane plans to leave after Jill, Kay, and then Lily reject him and want nothing
to do with him. He thinks there is no reason to stay.

But in this town everything can change in a heartbeat...

DG goes onto say "Don't count Cane and Lily out."

Jill and Kay are on the same side for now--against Phillip and Cane--but J.C
says don't expect that to last.

JC, "More trauma is coming. They will have a difference of opinion over the 2
children as it were...the war is just starting and before it is over they may
bring the entire continent of Australia into it." (lol)

Jeanne Cooper is in talks to appear in a scene on GL as a way to help pay
tribute to the show before it goes off. She's hoping to get a few other Y&R

Mary Jane/Victor
The Black Knight spots Mary Jane lurking at the hospital visiting Summer and
orders her to keep away from the little girl. Victor starts to wonder what she's
up to. Mary Jane tries to keep in check the chaos she's been creating after
worrying all of her schemes will start to crumble. She uses her stuffed cat as a
way to hash things out and to calm her down when things look bleak.

Victor breaks into her hotel suite and stumbles upon her enemy wall. When Mary
Jane arrives, Victor lets her know she will be leaving Genoa City. Mary Jane is
a bit scared of Victor but she doesn't let him see her sweat. She is hell bent
on snagging Jack no matter who ends up in her way.

Cane/Lily/Jill/Kay/Phillip
Cane thinks everything's alright after submitting the frozen blood for DNA
testing. Unfortunately for him, Paul and Nina find out from the lab the blood
used was frozen previously! Nina rushes over to the Chancellor Estate and
confronts him on the funky blood. Cane finally breaks down and tells the truth,
he's not Phillip III. When Nina keeps grilling Cane about where the real Phillip
III is, Langley/Phillip shows up and takes the blame for what Cane has done!
Katherine passes out due to the shock of P3's returns and has to be rushed to
the hospital. Olivia tells everyone Katherine has had a stroke.

While this is going on, Cane and Phillip/Langley tell everyone how they crossed
paths. When Phillip moved to Australia, he purchased a bar where he met Cane. He
had tremendous guilt on the family he deceived and came up with the plan to pass
Cane off as himself in order for them to have their beloved Phillip back. Cane
then confesses to Billy and Chloe he used Langley/Phillip's blood for the
paternity test of Delia, and already knew he wasn't the little girl's father.
The entire Chancellor clan are fuming and confused for the deception Cane has
used especially wife Lily, who gives him her wedding ring. Phillip also tries to
explain why he created this ruse with his family but they are still pissed for
the heartache he caused. Phillip is fond of Cane and didn't want him to take the
blame for the turmoil created.

Jeffrey's Plane Crash :( Lead [-]

Soap Opera Digest (7/14/09

'Jeffrey Dies' Preview Article - At the beginning of the week, Reva is elated to
finally receive a call from Jeffrey, but the news is not good. Reva is
devastated as Jeffrey explains his plane is going down and he's calling to say
goodbye. "She's in shock and refuses to believe it," says Kim Zimmer. Jeffrey
wants to talk about Colin, but Reva goes into an emotional tailspin. She tells
Jeffrey she loves him. "If she could survive a crash, then Jeffrey the super
agent can survive!" adds Zimmer. The line goes dead and Reva screams. Josh shows
up and they contact Frank, who alerts the FAA to look for a downed plane and
takes Reva in for questioning. Billy, Lillian, Shayne and Josh rally around
Reva, who is determined to stay strong and insists Jeffrey is okay, even after
Frank surmises he did not survive. "Reva doesn't believe Jeffrey is dead," says
Zimmer. Dinah turns up and tells an infuriated Reva that Jeffrey's plane was
headed for the Carribean and he sent her home to let everyone know that Edmund
is still alive - which leads Mallet to believe Eddie might be responsible for
sabotaging the plane. Later, Reva pours herself a stiff drink and tries to
maintain her composure. "She believes Edmund is alive and will find Edmund and
destroy him!" By week's end, she's "determined to find Jeffrey and bring him
home," says Zimmer, who says the plot twist, "makes me want the show to stay on
the air so we can play this story out."

Coming Up - Reva gets devastating news.

Soap Opera Weekly (7/14/09):

There's 'A Closer Look: Reva' Q&A with Kim. She talks about Reva being in shock
over the phone call and how she played the scene, thinking about how Reva
survived a plane crash and so could he. She says Reva will be determined to find
Jeffrey and bring him home. She is asked when Reva's relationship with Jeffrey
started clicking for her. She said how Jeffrey's whole outlook on life was a
breath of fresh air for Reva and the whole 'no-strings' thing worked for her at
the time. "The surprise was that it became something so much more without either
of them wanting it to." She is asked, What do you have to say to any devastated
Reva/Jeffrey fan out there? Kim answered, "This was a relationship that the
writers, I think, never expected to be accepted by the fans. It was because of
your support and love for the two characters that it became the story it became:
a love story!"

There's a Q&A with Gina Tognoni about her wedding. She shared that at the
wedding Kim and Bradley sang Elvis's 'Can't Help Falling In Love' together.

There's a preview article about Edmund knowing the truth about Henry. An
attorney gives Marina and Mallet a letter Edmund wrote for baby Henry. It
explains everything that's been going on and tells Henry that his new parents
are evil. Marina goes nuts, Jeffrey's plane goes down, all hell is breaking
loose.

Olivia is worried about Natalia but covers and explains to Emma that she must
have had a very good reason for missing the BBQ. Olivia goes to the station to
report that Natalia is missing. Frank thinks Natalia got cold feet. Olivia
visits Father Ray, who says that Natalia saw him and asked him not to inform
Olivia where she was going. Olivia walks to the front of Natalia's house and
tries to write a note but can't and throws her paper and pen in frustration.

Bill and Lizzie's beach plans are thwarted when Beth invites Lizzie to go
shopping, and Billy invites Bill to spend some time with him. Josh thinks they

them there. Billy invites Phillip to Bill's party and says Phillip and James are
welcome. Lizzie is a little impatient as Beth leads her to the restaurant.
However, Lizzie is surprised and touched that everyone gathered there to
celebrate her wedding. Bill is excited to play pool with Billy. When the guys
arrive, he thanks everyone for surprising him with the party. Phillip and Alan
arrive. The guys stand around awkwardly, not moving or talking much. Bill calls
Lizzie and they plan their escape from their parties. James arrives. James
overhears Bill explaining to Billy that James is arrogant and just a kid so he
punches Bill. Phillip leaves to pick up Olivia, but gets a call from Josh while
he's gone. Billy punches Alan after Alan says he doesn't want Lizzie marrying
Bill. Phillip walks in to see Alan and Bill holding ice over their eyes. Phillip
says he'll clear everything up. Alan says he's not coming to Lizzie's wedding
and can't give her his support.

Ashlee asks Reva where Dinah is but Reva says she has no idea and she just wants
to be left alone. Suddenly, Reva gets a call from anxious Jeffrey. Jeffrey
informs her that he doesn't have much time left.

SoapNet Spoilers for wk of 7/6
« Thread Started on Jul 2, 2009, 7:23pm »
The Fourth of July holiday is upon us, which means long weekends filled with
BBQ, fireworks, and watching the movie musical "1776" on DVD. Or maybe that's
just us. Anyhoo, we've got a fresh-outta-the-oven sneak peek into what goes down
in Oakdale next week. Care to join us for a celebratory taste?

Poor Carly. Her drinking is getting, to quote the title of the brilliant late
'80s kids show hosted by Dave Coulier, "out of control" -- and it seems like
nothing anyone does can dissuade her from hitting the bottle ... not even a
marriage proposal! After finding hidden vodka in Carly's spice rack, Rosanna is
starting to doubt the wedding will even happen. Look for Rosanna to confront
sister Carly head on about her drinking -- though something tells us that
skirmish won't smooth things over in the slightest.

Meanwhile, Oakdale's very own version of "Tootsie" continues as Geneva -- aka
Henry -- becomes a huge hit at WOAK Studios. Katie is the only one who knows
Henry's secret, but that might change once Geneva is forced to come onto Brad to
throw him off "her" trail. One of these days, both Brad AND Vienna are bound to
find out the truth ... and we kinda can't wait to see Henry try to explain
himself!

We all know Paul's a loose cannon, and that he's to blame for the cutting the
fuel line to one of Damian's ships. Thankfully, it looks like Dusty and Damian
realize their beloved Meg needs their protection more than their constant
attention -- so they make a deal to put aside their differences. At least, for
the time being.

All this, PLUS: Even though the dude was a monster, Noah has a hard time dealing
with his father's death. Luckily, Luke is there to offer comfort and support.

By the by, you did read up on Stuart Damon coming to Oakdale in September,
right? It's big news when the former Alan Quartermaine takes up residence in a
town other than Port Charles. Stay tuned for more info ...

THE RUNDOWN
Rosanna confronts Carly about her drinking.
Geneva comes onto Brad.
Damian and Dusty make a deal.
Noah has a hard time dealing with his father's death.

THIS WEEK ON "AS THE WORLD TURNS"
Carly can't design her own wedding dress so she buys one from Fashions and rips
the tags off. Ashamed, she passes it off as her own design, but is forced to
admit the truth when Rosanna sees the exact same dress at Fashions. Rosanna
confronts Carly about her drinking and Carly admits it, but denies she has a
problem.

Later, after kicking her sister out, Carly gets drunk in the limo on the way to
her wedding. She overhears Craig and Rosanna discussing her drinking and bolts.
With nowhere else to go, Carly goes to Lily for help, but runs into Holden
instead. He's forced to call Jack when a severely inebriated Carly comes onto
him at the Wagon Wheel. While Carly's getting her stomach pumped at the
hospital, Rosanna tells a hesitant Jack that they should be the ones to help
Carly, not Craig.

OAKDALE HAPPENINGS
Dusty and Bonnie do some investigating. Damian and Dusty call a truce for a
common goal. Parker blames himself for Carly's downward spiral. Liberty comforts
her ex-husband. Henry doesn't know when to stop. Riley's forced to cover quickly
when Tom suspects something. Hunter tries his best to cope with his newfound
family. Noah freaks when he finds a box of his father's things. After finding
him, Damian suggests he burn the box. Carly goes missing.

Two Scoops - Henry's storylines,
« Thread Started on Jun 30, 2009, 8:06am »
Meg the Man Killer, and Adam is alive?

Someone grab the champagne, Scoopers. I feel like celebrating. It looks like my
Henry is finally getting the attention he deserves, after all these years. First
we saw some amazing scenes of him mourning the loss of his baby, and now he's in
a dress, fooling Kim, Brad, and the rest of Oakdale Now's audience into thinking
he's Geneva Swift, a lady of high moral character and great amusement. Henry's
motives are usually questionable when he dons his girdle. This time, it looks
like jealousy spurred his return to size 12 pumps. Trying to get Vienna to not
be so sexy in her TV segments with Brad inspired Henry this time, and I thank
the writers for tapping into Henry's fear and jealousy.

I respectfully disagree with my fellow Two Scoops writer Reggie who isn't fond
of this storyline, according to his last column. I love this plot twist the way
Henry loves a good martini. First, it taps into Henry's history of dressing up
as a woman and second, I think "Geneva" and Brad make a much more exciting duo
than Brad and Vienna or Brad and Katie. Another perk is that Katie is on to
Henry's sham, and once again, their longtime friendship is on display. Plus, Kim
is involved in this storyline, as is Brad, who always has fantastic chemistry
with Henry. And finally, along with Carly's alcohol addiction, it's the most
entertaining part of the show these days.

It looks like Henry is pulling a Mrs. Doubtfire - (Google it if you haven't seen
the film) - and that Geneva Swift may prove more popular than either Katie or
Brad in the world of television. Of course, once Kim and the rest of the world
find out that Geneva is a man, Henry will probably have to go back to slinging
hash at the diner. (Yeah, I don't want to think about that either.) The good
news is that it looks like there may be more stories on tap for Henry, according
to the latest casting news. I won't spoil you, but suffice it to say, it looks
like Henry won't be backburnered again anytime soon. Thank you, show honchos,
for finally realizing what fans and Emmy voters have known all along: Trent
Dawson can do comedy or drama and deserves to be in the spotlight. Whether or
not he should be wearing lipstick while he's doing it, well, that's an issue I'm
sure fans will enjoy debating.

Meanwhile:
• Hello, Faith! Wow, what a change puberty has made in this adorable tween. I
barely recognized her with her highlighted hair and makeup. I wonder how long
before Parker notices that she's all grown up and gorgeous? Maybe she's just
what he needs to get his mind off of Liberty.

• Apparently, Carly's kids don't eat cold cereal, or they would have found her
vodka stash behind the cereal boxes in the cupboard at some time during the past
month.

• Welcome back, Larry! I don't trust a guy who walks down the hall carrying a
cooler of Emily's frozen eggs, but hey, he sure has spiced things up. I'm not
sure what motives he has for wanting to have another baby with Emily, (she's not
exactly the Mommy type) but I can't wait to find out.

• Thank you, writers, for splitting up Casey and Ali. I need a Red Bull just to
watch scenes between those two, a situation I don't understand, since Casey was
once a highlight on my screen. I think the issue is Ali. She just hasn't clicked
with any of her romantic leads. Many years ago, the troublemaker with a heart of
gold was one of my favorites. Now, since her transition to good girl, she's
downright boring. Maybe this storyline with her father in town will once again
boost my interest in this character. Here's hoping.

• I've said it before, but it warrants repeating. Meg is man's Kryptonite. She
seems to suck the life out of every man within her vicinity. This week she
turned cutthroat corporate tycoon Damian into a "yes Meg" man, and he marched
away from his WorldWide coup, costing him hordes of cash, just so Meg wouldn't
be mad. Meg has superpowers, I'm telling you. She always reduces strong,
powerful men to shadows of themselves, in a matter of days. I'm begging, please
keep her away from my Henry.

• Speaking of Meg, I know this is extreme, but maybe it's time this character
left Oakdale. The writing for Meg has been so inconsistent, flip flopping
between men and between fainting spells and proclaiming her toughness, that
she's become unbelievable and unwatchable for me. She's been painted as a weak,
emotional mess, whose self-worth seems to be tied to whatever powerful man she's
sleeping with. Even more perplexing, the character she has the most romantic
chemistry with in Oakdale is her brother Holden.

• Are you enjoying Bonnie and Dusty's flirting? I'm apathetic, and I don't know
why. I should be thrilled that Bonnie is getting some screen time and that Dusty
isn't trying to save a woman for once. But, they just aren't clicking yet for
me. I feel like we've seen this already with Dusty and Lucy, Rose, Emily, etc.

• Janet is gorgeous, but I'm not loving the red hair. Sorry.

• Speaking of hair, Dusty needs to ease up on the amount of product he's using.
His hair looked so greasy this week; it looked like he'd been working the fryer
at Al's Diner.

• I'm not so sure poor Henry is so far off base with his jealousy of Vienna and
Brad. Did you see the way Vienna was looking at Brad on tape during their date
segment? If she wasn't acting, then Katie and Henry both have something to worry
about. As for her tango costume being too racy, um, I've seen Vienna wear more
revealing blouses to Al's diner!

• From next week's previews, it appears that Riley is the presumed-dead Adam.
Well, at least I can forgive the show for Adam's sham of a funeral that didn't
include Bob and Kim. I guess we have to assume Adam has had plastic surgery and
somehow disguised his voice. Um, OK. I guess if it gets Margo and Tom back on
screen doing the kind of work we saw this week, then I'll go with it, no matter
how ridiculous it is.

• Poor Margo. She started out the week looking for antidepressants to get her
through her grief and ended up taking a bullet from Col. Mayer. I have no doubt
Margo will pull through. Whether or not her siblings Craig or Katie will get to
know about the shooting, well that's anyone's guess.

• Writers please take note. When families go through major life changes, it's
common for them to at least have a conversation with one another or offer
support. I'm pretty sure Margo doesn't know Katie is pregnant and on bed rest.
I'm not sure Katie knows about Adam's "death" or that either Margo or Katie
knows that Craig is getting married. The three of them haven't spoken in weeks.
What a shame.

• Parker gets points this week for offering to give his trust fund back to
Rosanna. The way Parker has been acting lately, he could use some points! Maybe
Rosanna will be the stabilizing force in his life to get him back on track to
being a teenager and less of a stalker.

• Perhaps Casey has a future as a cop after all. He got information from the
military on Riley in a matter of days, including a picture. I would think that
information would be top secret, but not for Casey. Margo should be proud.

• If Katie is supposed to be on bed rest, what was she doing at the hospital
hanging out with Vienna? Did I miss something?

• ATWT, please spend some cash and hire some extras. Larry and Emily's opera
outing looked ridiculous with no one else around. br>
• Once again, I tip my hat to Craig. It seems he actually loves Carly and is
trying to help her by getting Rosanna to move in with her. This storyline has
major potential. How long before Rosanna and Craig remember how much they loved
one another? Scoopers, I'm betting it won't take long, and we'll be looking at a
full-blown love triangle.

• The show is hinting that Hunter is Larry's son with all of these "Tristan"
opera hints. If so, then why would they have him kissing his sister Alison?
Ewww. Please make it stop.

• Jack gets points this week, too. He was refreshingly mature when he found out
about Carly's marriage to Craig. That kind of news normally would send him
stomping out, slamming doors and knocking back a beer at the bar. Well, done,
Gman.

• Thanks so much to Reggie for filing in for me while I was away on vacation. I
attended a beach wedding at Tybee Island (Congrats Bekah and Michael!) and
decided to stay for a few days of R&R. It was so hot, even the fish were
sweating. Anyway, I'll be writing the column again next week, so I'll see you
then.

Best Lines of the Week:
(Carly gets Henry to fix her broken pipe and is shocked at the result.)
Carly: "You look wet."
Henry: "Really? Well, water does that."

(Henry dressed as Geneva knocks on Katie's door with an emergency.)
Henry: "I have to be at the studio like right now, and I can not get my breasts
straight."
Katie: "That has to be the weirdest thing any man has ever said to me…. I really
think you need to rethink things."
Henry: "I knew it. This dress makes me look hippy, doesn't it?"

(Kim asks Geneva, aka Henry dressed in drag, to do a pole-dancing segment for
Oakdale Now.)
Geneva/Henry: "I'm here to do commentary, not be some sexual gymnast. "
Brad: "Don't worry. No one is ever going to think that."

(Brad is upset that Geneva got the best of him on the air.)
Brad: "This was a disaster. She made me look like an idiot."
Henry: "Oh, you've got that covered all by yourself."

Reader Spotlight:
(From Two Scoops reader Annette.)
I like the character of Carly with the denial of alcoholism and how easy it is
to fool yourself. I identified with her character. It has been very helpful.

That's all for now Scoopers! See ya next time.

Two Scoops - Happily Ever After, Ever After,
« Thread Started on Jun 30, 2009, 8:07am »
Ever After… Have Nick and Bridget Finally Made It?

Thank goodness the Forrester family is in the fashion business. How else could
they afford all those wedding dresses? You know that movie 27 Dresses? Bridget
must have 27 wedding dresses at her disposal. Of course, for her latest nuptials
with Nick (the third, but who's counting?), the former doctor turned designer
whipped up the gown all by herself. I bet she could do wonders with curtains a
la Scarlett O'Hara, too!

But it was a beautiful wedding. Don't you love it how the characters on The Bold
and the Beautiful can roll out an elegant wedding, complete with a chapel,
string quartet, formal garb, flowers, champagne and food, in just a week or so?
I was at my nephew's wedding last weekend. It took him and his fiancé over six
months to pull their affair together. Life on a soap is clearly much, much
easier.

I couldn't help but notice some of the very strange pairings at the wedding, you
know… Rick as Nick's best man? Really! I didn't think they even talked to one
another. Doesn't Nick have a male best friend, some guy in his life that would
count as a real best man? I don't know, maybe Chuck? Although it's been a while
since Nick has been down by the Shady Marlin II. You known, even Ridge would
have been a decent best man because he is, technically, Nick's half-brother.
True, they dislike each other, but so what. When it comes to weddings, everyone
seems to bury the hatchet. You know who would have been a perfect best man for
Nick? Jack. He's Nick's favorite guy, but I guess he's not walking yet. Oh well.

It was also strange to see Katie as the first person to go into the bride's room
to help her prepare. I mean, come on, Katie? Just a few months back, Bridget was
in the same position when Katie was dying - supposedly - and she was assigned to
conduct the ceremony. This week's scene felt so reminiscent and after Katie had
been shacking up with Nick for months and months, was she really the right
person to check in with Bridget before her wedding? Of course, Brooke eventually
showed up to do the mother of the bride thing. Again, how familiar. She had
another piece of jewelry for Bridget. Last time it was pearls, this time jade.
Leave it to Bridget, she's building up quite a collection of fine stones!
Thanks, Mom. Note to Brooke: save something for Hope!

Speaking of the kids, where were they? R.J., Hope and Jack were nowhere to be
seen and not even mentioned. Odd. It was nice to see the reappearance of Stephen
and Beth, and they even reminded the viewers that Beth's memory problems have
not gone away. Of course, when and if they follow up with that storyline is
questionable at this point. Just like the Bill Spencer sighting at the wedding.
What was he doing there anyway? Since his failed attempt to take over Forrester,
Junior has been on the back burner. Has he even been introduced to Ridge yet? I
don't recall.

The biggest sub-plot at the wedding, though, was Owen vs. Nick. I have to say
that I'm really confused about Nick's attitude. If he's worried about Jackie's
money being ripped off by Owen, why not just convince Jackie to get a pre-nup.
If Owen is sincerely in love with Jackie, he'll sign it. That would sort of end
of discussion, right? Instead we have Nick and Jackie going round and round with
these arguments about Owen taking advantage of Jackie. Why is Nick so dense?
Can't he hear Jackie explaining to him that she's enjoying her relationship with
Owen and doesn't want to be alone anymore? Why is that so hard to understand? As
for the age gap, Jackie wisely noted that Nick has 20 years of age on Bridget,
so what's the diff? I find Nick's penchant for violence against Owen quite
offensive. Since when does Nick get his way by pushing guys around? He's
threatened to kill Owen, which if you don't mind my saying, is very much over
the top behavior. Maybe Owen should get a restraining order against Nick?

The week also included a major, major story development for Brooke and Ridge and
Taylor. Dr. Hayes finally got her wish, sex with Ridge. Ridge - or maybe we
should call him miracle-stud since he was able to make love while on
anti-anxiety medication - was so guilt-ridden about what he did that he nearly
told Brooke. What a treat for Brooke, hmm? Just a week separated and Ridge has
fallen right into the Stephanie-Taylor trap. By the way, isn't it just tad
disgusting that Stephanie is so involved in Ridge's sex life? Did she really
have to monitor the entire night at Taylor's with phone calls and encouraging
remarks like, "go for it." Yeech! That's your son, Stephanie. Get out of his
shorts!

At least Taylor was justifiably embarrassed to learn that Ridge was completely
zonked out when they were doing the deed. How funny that she couldn't tell the
difference! Maybe Ridge normally lays there like a lox and lets the lady do all
the work? Ha-ha, what a sight that would be! It's probably more likely that
Taylor's been so horny that any male companionship in the sack would seem
exciting. How long has it been since the raven-headed shrink has had a fling?
Rick? I think so. Hey, you know, a lady has her needs, so even a doped-up Ridge
must have felt okay from where she was laying!

By the way, do you think that Ridge could check in with Forrester Creations once
in a while? He's been on this journey of self-pity and self-absorption for weeks
now, while Eric's company is going down the drain. The Price Is Right was not
the answer, just a distraction. And the crocheted bikini was a joke. Perhaps Pam
is not the answer for the problems with the family business, you know what I
mean? If Ridge would get his head - and his butt - back to work, perhaps design
a few dresses and put his nose to the grindstone (and out of Steffy's life), the
business would bounce back. Eric was so depressed about work that he turned away
Donna and the honey bear. At last, Eric was thinking with his big head instead
of the little one.

It would be nice if Stephanie started to pay more attention all her children,
not just Ridge. Poor Thorne and Felicia, they're both miserable. If I were
either of them, I'd be bitching like Tommy Smothers -- "Mom always liked you
best!" Ridge is clearly Steph's favorite and she doesn't even pretend it's not
true. Not good parenting, Steph. Share the wealth and give Felicia and Thorne
some tender loving care. They need you a lot more than Ridge these days because
Taylor and Brooke will rush in to fill the void when you're not available 24/7.

That covers it for now, but please email me with your thoughts and check out
soapcentral.com every day for news and recaps and all kinds of good soap stuff.
Till next time, keep watching B&B so we can share the fun together!

Best,
Allison

How cool was it that Mindy, Michelle, and Danny returned for the big Bauer BBQ?
We only wish they could stay longer ... well, we just wish "Guiding Light" could
stay longer ...

So, on to next week:

It was a long walk home from the pharmacy for Natalia. Pregnancy test in hand,
she couldn't fathom being with child. Sure enough, SHE IS! Unless it was an
immaculate conception (hey, it hasn't been done before), it's Frank's baby. How
is Olivia going to handle this? She won't really have a chance to find out
because Natalia bolts outta town. It's Doris to the rescue, as she and Olivia
team up to find Natalia.

It's Bill and Lizzie's wedding! Do it yourself-ers Bill and Lizzie are about to
get hitched. Although they've worked hard to make everything just right, there
are bound to be some issues -- especially when you don't have a wedding planner
AND you live in Springfield. Look for some messy nuptial missteps at their
upcoming ceremony. At least that's more fun for us!

So the Springfield cops aren't completely convinced that Edmund is alive after
perpetrating one of the slickest body switcheroos we've ever seen -- but
everyone else in town feels pretty sure about it. Next week, look for Marina and
Mallet to get evidence that Edmund is indeed still walking the earth in the form
of a very interesting letter.

And Dinah returns to town with some bad, bad news. As in, someone's dead.

SOW

Q&A with Gina Tognoni about her wedding. She shared that at the wedding Kim and
Bradley sang Elvis's 'Can't Help Falling In Love' together.

Preview article about Edmund knowing the truth about Henry. An attorney gives
Marina and Mallet a letter Edmund wrote for baby Henry. It explains everything
that's been going on and tells Henry that his new parents are evil. Marina goes
nuts, Jeffrey's plane goes down, all heck is breaking loose.

New DAYS will dawn for Crystal Chappell
« Thread Started on Jun 30, 2009, 8:21am »
If the canceled "Guiding Light" does move to cable, it will do so without one of
its biggest stars, Crystal Chappell, who has just signed with "Days of Our
Lives."

"I'm really excited," says Chappell, who will be reprising the role of Carly
Manning, which she left 16 years ago. "I was in L.A. meeting with some people,
and Gary [Tomlin, executive producer] called me out of the blue. By the end of
lunch, I was thinking, 'This is really intriguing.'"

Chappell admits the decision is bittersweet.

"At this point, all ["GL" execs] can say to us is, 'We encourage you to move on.
As of today, Sept. 18 will be the last air show.' If I was independently
wealthy, I would gladly hang out and wait for 'GL' to find a home.
Unfortunately, I am not one of those people."

"GL" is slated to finish taping in early August, at which point Chappell will
move back to California, where she and hubby Michael Sabatino (ex-Lawrence,
"Days") have a home with their sons.

As for how her "GL" story will end, she says, "I'm not going to die, if that
matters to anybody."

Her story is complicated since her character, Olivia, is involved in a lesbian
love story with Natalia, and Natalia's portrayer, Jessica Leccia, just went on
maternity leave.

"Natalia gets a diagnosis that sends her off, and she leaves town," says
Chappell. "Jessica is coming back from maternity leave after the Fourth of July
break, so we'll have four weeks to tie it up. From what I've been told, it will
be a hopeful end."

As for her new beginning, "I am curious to see where Carly has been for 16
years. I imagine I would be part of a story with Bo and Hope. The only thing I
know is that Wally Kurth is also coming back [as Justin], so I imagine I'll work
with him."

Which will make it old home week for them both.

"My first day on 'Days,' I took my top off for Wally, so it's full circle," she
says with a laugh. "I was so new, I would have said yes to anything. 'Would you
mind taking your top off?' 'Sure. Six years of Catholic school? I'm good.' I was
totally not prepared for that!"

Two Scoops - Slip Sliding Away
« Thread Started on Jun 30, 2009, 8:11am »
When I watched Remy and Christina flush those diamonds down the toilet last
week, we knew it wasn't the last we'd see of the valuable stones. But who knew
to what lengths a jewel thief like Cyrus would go to save his skin (literally).

For someone who is a police officer, I have to admit that I find Remy a little
naïve about the ways of the world. Stolen gems don't typically find themselves
working alongside upstanding members of the community. Of course, Remy skirts
the law when it suits him with his card games. But this is a whole new league
for even him.

Cyrus, on the other hand, is used to double crosses and running from the law -
and former allies as well. Since Natasha has been in Springfield, she's been
after one thing: Edmund's rare diamonds. Remy walked into a quick way to solve
his money woes (albeit an illegal one) which was at times preposterous.

But now, hopefully, this part of the story is over. But will Remy be able to
save his job? And will Christina be able to forgive Remy for putting her in this
position? I do admit I like them together and want them to succeed.

Now that the diamond mystery is solved, Cyrus should be able to turn his
attention to Grady. Oh, yeah. That missing brother of his - how could he forget?
Or is GL just going to hope Phillip isn't found out? Of course, Phillip has his
own issues…

As I heard about this plot line twist involving Phillip, it hit me - did GL know
it was being cancelled before they announced it? Phillip is told, in June, that
he has three months to live - as does the show on CBS. This show was taped (if
not written) AFTER the CBS cancellation. I'm usually not the conspiracy theory
girl, but I do listen to all sides of such things…

Still, it was good to see Peter Simon again. It's hard to believe it's been 5
years since his last appearance in Springfield. With CBS announcing the
cancellation, I hope to see TPTB really blow the budget and bring back a lot of
the fan favorites. (Note: If Kevin Bacon appears, I will either a) faint or b)
scream at the top of my lungs - no one ever believes me when I tell them he got
his start on GL). What can they do? Cancel the show? (Take THAT CBS….) But while
I loved watching Rick and Phillip (Mikey and Grant) play some hoops, it was a
little far-fetched that they would both go to California at the same time (or
the van Phillip rented has Illinois tags….). Can't wait to see the Bauer
Bar-be-que!!

And on the other side of the world (or really, Peapack, NJ) Jeffrey and Dinah
are starting their slippery scheme to bring Edmund out of hiding (providing he's
really alive - which would be a great plot twist - even if we know it already).
With the clock (literally) running on GL time it will be interesting to see how
many of these stories the show can wrap up.

For those who haven't been reading the soap press both online and in print,
there are several GL'ers who have already found other work. While I will
certainly miss seeing them in their current state, I wish them all of the best.
I've said it before - no more daytime for me. After having my heart broken by
the network gods who keep "Big Brother" (ick) but get rid of a television
legend, I don't want to get snared in by another show. But in this economy, you
can't blame someone for wanting to find work quickly - everyone has bills to pay
and a family to feed. Best of luck to Crystal Chappell who will return to DOOL
in September and GL alum John Driscoll (Coop) who is now headed to Y&R. As I
hear of other moves, I will certainly post them here for GL fans who wish to
follow their favorites to other shows.

But back in Springfield it's the Bauer Barbecue this week. While I won't be able
to watch it until I return from vacation (the hotels in National Parks have no
TV's or radios, let alone Internet access) I will certainly be glued to these
episodes. Even my husband Jack, a casual GL viewer, knows that the 4th of July
means the annual Bauer family tradition. And as I said earlier, I'm glad to see
GL brought back Peter Simon (Ed) so there is more than one Bauer in Springfield…
(Leah doesn't count - we never see her - although she'll be there at the
Bar-be-que). Now can we see him regularly? After all, even the Tivo description
of GL mentions the all-but-non-existent Bauer family.

A brief programming note: I am going on vacation right now and won't return
until July 8th. I will do all I can to get what spoilers I can together before I
leave (there is little Internet access where I am going - Yellowstone and
Glacier National Parks in Wyoming and Montana). This column was written based on
what I knew was going to happen via spoilers and about the Bauer Bar-be-que - my
favorite GL event…

Each year, I print the official recipe for Bauer Burgers. Since this is very
well the last year I can do this, I will include it here (and the next columns
as well). Make mine medium - without the mushrooms - and I hope you can enjoy
them this 4th.

Bauer Burgers

1. Get 2 lbs of ground sirloin, then mix in some garlic, pepper, salt and 3
teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce.

2. Make an even number of thin hamburger patties. (Be sure to make them very
thin.)

3. Chop up some onion and put it on top of the first patty. Then put a slice of
American or mozzarella cheese on top. Grill some mushrooms and put them on top
of the cheese. Cover the whole thing with another patty.

4. Using a fork press down the edges of the patties so they are sealed

5. Barbecue the double patties over a low flame until done. It takes more time
to cook due to the thickness of the patties.

Hope you enjoy your burgers!!

Whether or not we know how this story - and this show ends, it is important for
all of us to stay focused on working to promote the show in a positive light for
as long as we can…

Keep the Light Shining and Happy 4th of July!
Kimberly

Emmy Winner Unexpectedly Quits
« Thread Started on Jun 30, 2009, 8:02am »
Lights out sooner than expected for Tognoni

Guiding Light will officially end in about two-and-a-half months and it will do
so without at least one of its Emmy-winning stars. Gina Tognoni and show
executives have failed to reach an agreement on a contract extension. As a
result, the show will end without Dinah and storylines have had to be rewritten.

At least one Guiding Light star will not be with the show for its finale on
September 18. TVGuide Canada is reporting that two-time Emmy winner Gina Tognoni
(Dinah Marler) has officially left the building. The actress' contract with
Guiding Light expired earlier this month and the actress did not extend her stay
through the series' last episode.

"The former One Life to Live actress refused to extend her GL contract until the
finale on September 18," the Sud Report's Nelson Branco reveals. "At the very
last minute, GL had to re-write long-term story to accommodate Tognoni's
decision to quit her popular role. There is no word yet as to why she didn't
re-sign with the cancelled soap."

Insiders are speculating that Tognoni has already reached a deal with another
show regarding post-Guiding Light employment. As previously reported by
soapcentral.com, Tognoni has expressed an interest in remaining in New York.
Talks with Tognoni's previous daytime home, ABC's One Life to Live, reportedly
broke down because the actress' requested salary was too high.

With Guiding Light ending in September, Tognoni was viewed by many media experts
as the brass ring and a number of shows expressed an interest in signing the
actress to a long-term contract. Upon GL's end, there will be just two soaps
filmed in New York, and it's unclear if either of those soaps -- All My Children
and As the World Turns -- have made overtures to Tognoni. As the World Turns is
also produced by Procter & Gamble's TeleNext, so it doesn't seem likely that
Tognoni would join one P&G soap at the expense of the other.

Tognoni would not have had to spend too much more time in Springfield. Guiding
Light executives have informed the cast and crew that the show will go dark on
August 14. After that time, all GL stars will be free to seek out other
employment.

Eileen Davidson Interview Part 1
« Thread Started on Jul 2, 2009, 7:38pm »
Eileen Davidson is back in familiar territory: She has returned to The Young and
the Restless, and Ashley is back in Victor Newman's arms. This time, however,
Ashley and Victor's relationship is a more mature and kinder love. However,
there are still those who would try to tear them apart (Adam, this means you!).
After all, this is a soap opera.

Eileen, actress and author — her second book, Dial Emmy for Murder, was just
released in June — talks about this go-round with Ashley and Victor, as well as
being a murder-mystery author.

Now that Ashley has returned to Y&R, are you glad that you get to further
explore her relationship with Victor? I know that many fans feel there is more
to discover there.
Eileen Davidson: "The writers are definitely taking this down a completely
different path than I thought they would, but that's great. It's a great way for
these two characters to get reconnected this time around, maybe get some
closure, and it's a really interesting story line to play."

Was coming back to the Y&R set like riding a bike?
ED: "It feels very familiar, since I know this character very, very well. But on
the other hand, because the story is so unpredictable — because of Ashley
thinking that she might be losing her mind and trying to hold on to her sense of
sanity — it's challenging from that aspect. It's a different facet of the
character. Even though she's had emotional problems before, it's never been
quite like this, where someone from the outside is the one doing this to her."

Tell me about playing Ashley and suffering from a hysterical pregnancy.
ED: "A lot of people don't know that this is a real, physical situation that can
happen to women who are so emotionally connected to being pregnant that their
bodies can actually mimic a pregnancy when the baby is lost. It's hard to
understand. People wonder how she can still look big even though a baby is not
in there, but it is her body that is creating this `pregnancy.'"

Were you excited to play this story line?
ED: "I'm always game for anything, and this seemed very interesting and
different, and something I'd never seen done before. The fact that this does
happen and it's not just a contrivance makes it all the more interesting. Also,
with how much Ashley wanted this baby, and how much she thought that maybe they
should have had a child together years ago when she made a choice to have an
abortion, with that being strong enough to create a pregnancy is just really
cool."

Victor finally takes down Sabrina's statue. Does this make Ashley feel more
secure in her relationship with him?
ED: "I don't think she ever felt threatened by Victor's previous relationship
with Sabrina. I think she was very respectful of that relationship. Victor
realizes it's time to close that chapter of his life and move on."

Tune in next week as Eileen talks mystery, murder and her latest book, Dial Emmy
for Murder.

Phillip Spoiler Confirmed
« Thread Started on Jul 2, 2009, 6:56pm »

Quote:
"What's going on in soaps these days is a very cool reflection of how far
mainstream America has come in accepting gays and lesbians," says Bierdz, who is
openly gay now but wasn't when he last played Phillip 20 years ago. (He details
his painful years in the closet in his moving, award-winning memoir Forgiving
Troy, available on amazon.com.) "Being able to play gay on Y&R is the main
reason I wanted to come back to the show," he says. "Gay people are just like
straight people, and that's what I hope to show with Phillip. He's not a
cartoon, he's not a stereotype. The guy certainly has issues. But being gay?
That's no big deal."

No one in Genoa City thinks it's a big deal, either — so far anyway. Says
Bierdz: "In almost every script I use the word `gay' and none of the characters
has a problem with it, which is so funny because I totally thought somebody in
town would be homophobic. [Head writer] Maria Bell just jumped over that, and
that is a shock, man! But I see the thinking: If Mrs. Chancellor doesn't have a
problem with Phillip being gay, if Esther doesn't have a problem with it, maybe
the viewers won't either." Adds Bierdz: "For years, the soaps have been afraid
of the sponsors and the audience. It looks like those days are over."

rushed to the hospital. Cane attempts to reveal the truth about his life to
Lily, Neil, Billy, Chloe and Esther who have remained behind.

"Cane explains that he was in Australia when he bumped into Phillip, a.k.a.
Langley in a bar" recounts Goddard. "They from a friendship. Phillip learned
that Cane's mother died, he never knew his father and he grew up on the streets.
Phillip told Cane if he wanted a family, there was one back in Genoa City that
needed to be healed; his family, who thought he was dead. Phillip ave Cane the
[vials of] blood and said, "Here's the plan. Go do this." Cane always wanted a
family, so that's why he came to Genoa City."

The telling of events doesn't go over well with the crowd. "No," admits Goddard
with a laugh. "It's going to take time. It didn't come from a place where there
was some sort of Machiavellian manipulation."

When Cane begs Lily to hear him out and tells her that he's always loved her,
Neil warns Cane that there will be major problems if he ever touches Lily or
come to Neil's door again. No one will give Cane time of day even though he has
a lot of things he needs to say.

Billy has it out with Cane, after Neil and Lily leave. Cane then heads to the
hospital to confront Phillip about why he returned to Genoa City, then he tries
to talk to Kay and Jill. "Nina won't let Cane into Kay's room, but Kay says to
let him in." says Goddard. "Murphy and Jill are there. Face to face, Cane just
wants to say he's sorry. Jill won't acknowledge him. Murphy tells Cane to leave
but he's got nowhere to go. He's lost everybody."

When Cane arrives back to the home he and Lily shared she confronts him about
all of his lies, especially over choosing his secret when it came to Chloe and
baby Cordelia's paternity.

"it's a big Agatha Christie moment," promises Goddard. "Cane says he didn't
choose the secret over her. He knew if he'd told her the truth, he would have
lost her, and he was doing everything he could to keep her; because he loves
her."

That's when Neil shows up, puts a stop to Cane's declarations of love and throws
him against a wall. "Lily leaves, but before she goes, she gives Cane back her
wedding ring and tells him they're done. That's without a doubt the worst thing
for Cane," cringes Goddard. "Lily's the one person he could always go to for
solace. Now, she's no longer there. It's the beginning of the end for Cane."

THE STACY HAIDUK INTERVIEW
« Thread Started on Jul 2, 2009, 5:40am »
The number one rated daytime soap, The Young and the Restless, has a penchant
for finding incredible actresses to fill incredible `psycho-babe' characters.
When Stacy Haiduk arrived on the scene as Mary Jane Benson, a woman whose look
and identity has been changed, and who is harboring some very dark secrets, fans
took notice of this sultry actress. Stacy has previously portrayed bad girl
Hannah, on All My Children opposite Thorsten Kaye (Zach), only to have that
character slip on a cliff and plummet to her death.

Now, Stacy is becoming a runaway hit with the fans and soap pundits for her
performances along side her co-star…
her dead stuffed cat, Mr. Kitty. Stacy Haiduk is revealing to soap viewers a
tormented character gone haywire.
She is exacting revenge on the man who wronged her, Jack Abbott, but at the same
time wanting him! Just look at last week alone. She gave poor Summer Newman
anaphylactic shock by kissing her on the lips with remnants of a peanut butter
cookie… knowing the little one was allergic. This was all done in the hope of
getting Jack Abbott away from Phyllis, and her estranged husband Nick, back with
Phyllis!

A few weeks back, online reports stated that young actress Tammy Barr is set to
play a young Patty Williams in Mary Jane's dream sequence this Thursday. So,
On-Air On-Soaps wanted to get the low down of the bizarre dream and what's in
store for Patty/Mary Jane, and the citizens of Genoa City. With this whack-job
on the loose, everybody in town probably should take cover. Here's the amazing
Stacy Haiduk to fill us in!

MICHAEL:

You have made this role of a whack-job so believable. Is it difficult making her
realistic with the beats of the story, and going off in tangents with Mr. Kitty?

STACY:

Actually, I am really enjoying finding the levels to play her. It has been a
good experience. One thing I wanted was for people to feel for her, and that she
was not just a whacko. I wanted them to feel bad for her. She is in pain. I feel
sorry for her.

MICHAEL:

Those scenes where you shot the bird, after watching Jack making out with
Phyllis… I remember watching you through the window in the rain and the
thunderstorm. You looked so evil and soooo upset. Are those scenes hard to do?

STACY:

Yes. That one specifically, was hard to find the balance, and not
over-exaggerate it. I gave just a facial expression, and I remember Paul Rauch
(co-executive producer, "Y&R) saying, "You have to give it a little bit more." I
am used to subtlety and sometimes that does not always play to the audience. So,
when he said, "You need to go a little bit more with it," I just said, "Ok, just
find it inside." I took a second. I found a place that was really painful for
me, and put my face in the window and they shot it.

MICHAEL:

For a bit of the back-story… Mary Jane had her face redone.

STACY:

She had facial reconstruction surgery.

MICHAEL:

Victor Newman brought her to Genoa City….

STACY:

That's right.

MICHAEL:

And he found her somewhere?

STACY:

Yes, and I don't even know where that was.

MICHAEL:

Your job is for Victor, who wants revenge on Jack Abbott and you have got it
"bad" for Jack Abbott. In recent episodes, Jack has brought up the fact that he
was shot three times below the belt and he drove a woman mad at one point.
Obviously, it looks to all of us that you are indeed Patty Williams!

STACY:

Sounds good! I think you hit it all right on the head.

MICHAEL:

Will we see her unravel more in the coming months?

STACY:

Yes, you will.

MICHAEL:

How is working with Peter Bergman (Jack)?

STACY:

I love him and he is fantastic! He has been so kind to me, since the audition.
He has been right there for me. He is amazing; he likes to run lines and is a
true professional.

MICHAEL:

What does one have to do when they go in and audition to get the part of a
whack-job with a new face?

STACY:

They did not tell me what the character was going to be about. They gave her an
"audition" name that was not Mary Jane. I went in and played a businesswoman.
They did not ask for whack-job. They asked for a sexy businesswoman.

MICHAEL:

On Thursday, we see a young Patty Williams in a dream played by Tammy Barr. Is
it going to be a painful moment or a shock for the fans?

STACY:

I hope its both…that people will be in for a painful shock as people get to know
more about Mary Jane. I think it's going to be fantastic. We are going to
understand why she is the way she is.

MICHAEL:

Let's take a stroll back to what Jack had done to Patty. He slept with all these
women behind her back. And when she shot him, it was like, "Well, good for her."
It's kind of hard to picture the young blond version of Patty now (played
originally by Lilibet Stern), as you are much taller and sexier. What can fans
look forward to in the dream sequence?

STACY:

Mary Jane has a dream of her past and she remembers Jack had an affair the
moment she tripped and lost her child. That was another horrible thing that
happened. As the dream progresses, young Patty tells Jack that she wants to die.
He begs her to kill him, so he tells her to shoot him, and she shoots him three
times.

MICHAEL:

So, what else is unraveling in the dream for her?

STACY:

It's an emotional waterfall. It's painful, and the audience is going to find
it's disturbing. All the people who remember what really happened with Jack and
Patty will get it.

MICHAEL:

So, it is Mary Jane's take on reality?

STACY:

Yes, it's totally Mary Jane's dream and her being able to shine some light on
some things. It's got some other surprising things in the dream, as well. Mr.
Kitty is in it, and we love Mr. Kitty. Sharon and Victor are in it. So you have
the entire dynamic going on of who Mary Jane wants revenge on. She wants revenge
on Jack, but she wants the love from him, too.

MICHAEL:

So, she does want revenge on Jack, but she really does want him?

STACY:

Absolutely! I feel when you are coming from a sense Patty/Mary Jane is; it's
this deep, deep, past pain where she lost her baby and then she shot him, but
wanted to shoot herself. Now, there is Jack and he does not want to be with her.
Then, Victor says, "Hey, come to Genoa City, and in the end you will have him."
But then, Jack does not want her.

MICHAEL:

I would think Mary Jane would eventually turn a gun on Victor! He manipulated
her the whole time.

STACY:

I think she is pissed off at him a little bit. He says he is done with her and
washes his hands of her. And what does a kid do? They get rebellious and they do
something that changes the adults mind. When I look at her, she seems child-like
at times. She is as smart as can be, and she knows how to manipulate people and
things, as well. That is fun to play, as well as the scenes with Mr. Kitty.

MICHAEL:

So she took Mr. Kitty to a taxidermist?

STACY:

Mary Jane hurt Mr. Kitty and killed Mr. Kitty. She killed the bird and then went
back and talked to Mr. Kitty and said, "You know I did this and it's similar to
what I did to you. But you understand Kitty, right?"
I think what they are saying is when she does not get what she wants, the pain
inside of her begi
