GUIDING LIGHT Rally Unifies Fans
May 22 brought a good morning to many GUIDING LIGHT viewers. Hi, I'm Marc
Wilkofsky, Soap Opera Weekly's GUIDING LIGHT point person and a 29-year viewer
of the soap, and I attended today's "Save the Light" rally outside the Manhattan
studio of CBS' EARLY SHOW. Approximately 30 people showed up — some having
driven several hours from states as far as Virginia — and while some brought
creative signs and others wore Otalia shirts, they were all unified in one form:
They want Springfield's story to survive past September 18. In a very peaceful,
fun gathering, the show's dedicated viewers told me that GL is like their family
(which they and their family members have been watching for decades), and they
don't know what they'll do without it. One longtime viewer, H.B. (yes, that is
his real name, like Josh's dad), noted that he was watching for his late
grandmother, who was a GL fan. Others were new to GL or fans of other soaps, but
just wanted to support GL and soaps in general, and spread the word that GL
needs and deserves to stay on the air in some form. The organizer, Karen Oswald,
whose team handed out free cast photos, suggested that people across the nation
create their own easygoing rallies, even if they're in backyard barbecues, to
watch and talk about the 72-year-old show. Many attendees walked to the Lifetime
studios to continue the rally. More information on this and other rallies is
available at savethelightrally.com, and look for more material about today's
encouraging event and GL on my www.soapoperaweekly.com blog (Any Hour Now),
starting next week.
Adam Recast on YOUNG AND RESTLESS!
A new Adam will be wreaking havoc in the Newman household on Y&R, a show
spokesperson confirms. Y&R has recast Chris Engen with seasoned actor Michael
Muhney, who starred on VERONICA MARS and THE HUNTRESS, and has done guest spots
on many prime-time series, including WITHOUT A TRACE, CHARMED, JAG and CSI:
MIAMI. There were rumors earlier this year that Engen, who began on Y&R on
February 12, 2008, was leaving, especially after his character was sent to
prison. Muhney will first appear on June 25.
Mark Your Calendars!
Heads up, GL fans! An air date has finally been set. Paul Anthony Stewart
(Danny), Nancy St. Alban (Michelle) and Krista Tesreau (Mindy) will officially
return to Springfield on Thursday, July 2.

Hunter, upon hearing that Alison's father isn't included in the celebration,
decides to track him down and offer up an invite. When Emily discovers what

that evening, Casey, Alison and Emily are talking at the Lakeview Lounge when
Hunter shows up offering to help distract Larry if he in fact decides to come to
the dinner. Emily wants Hunter to leave but Alison tells him he's more than
welcome to stay to celebrate with them all. Meanwhile Larry shows up as the
party is getting settled for their dinner and it floors Alison that he's there.
Realizing how upset she is, Hunter comes forward and tells her that it was his
doing, further upsetting Alison. When Susan comes to the Lakeview and sees Larry
she is angered and tells him no matter what he does, she will never accept any
apologies. Upset by what he's done, Hunter leaves and soon finds himself
face-to-face with Alison and Casey. While Alison is willilng to forgive him,

-- Brotherly betrayal...
THIS WEEK ON: THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS
Noah makes up his own assumptions regarding Sharon's news, Monday, May 25. Devon
is far from over with giving Tyra a piece of his mind. On Tuesday, May 26, Adam
gets the upper hand on Victor and Ashley and on Thursday, May 28, Adam sneaks
out of the Newman house again.
The Inside Story: Blindsided by the Truth
At Cassie's grave, Sharon stuns Nick with the news that she is pregnant. He
immediately assumes that the baby is his based off of Cassie's spirit telling
him that the two of them would have another child. Not wanting to listen to what
Nick has just admitted, Sharon takes off leaving him at the gravesite alone;
both unaware that Phyllis, who has arrived at the cemetery, has heard
everything. Upset at the revelation, Phyllis heads back over to Restless Style
and contacts Jack, telling him to meet her there. When he arrives, she blasts
him for not informing her about the news regarding Sharon being pregnant. She
further tells him that because of this news, their relationships with the people
they love could be over. As Jack is trying to reassure her, Phyllis blurts out
that for all they know the baby could be Billy's and not Jack's or Nick's. Jack
is stunned by what Phyllis has said and he soon learns that Billy and Sharon
were also fooling around one another. Meanwhile Jack, who is back home keeps
quiet about what he knows with Sharon but soon confronts Billy for his actions,
lashing out that he was selfish for his actions. Later on that day, Nick meets
up with Sharon again and tells her that he doesn't want to keep the truth from
his wife, yet doesn't want Jack as a father figure if the baby is indeed his.
Sharon tells Nick that he can't throw away his marriage to Phyllis if he's still
in love with her. While their significant others are off talking to one another,
Jack and Phyllis decide to vent to one another about the things that have been
kept from them, unaware that Nick and Sharon are planning on telling them both
the truth about everything.
A Closer Look: Fed Up
Billy learns the truth about Mac and Raul's relationship with one another while
they were in Dafur and isn't pleased by it. Covering his annoyance, he swallows
the bitterness when Raul comes to him with news of wanting to propose to Mac.
Billy lies and tells Raul that he's happy for him and says he supports him.
Chloe, who is very well aware that Billy is not pleased with the news of Raul
and Mac, tries to be there for Billy but he brushes her off. The two soon begin
to argue about Mac and he leaves in a huff. When he heads back home shortly
after their arguement, he finds that Chloe and Cordelia aren't there but back at
the Chancellor estate. He heads over and begs Chloe to come home. Meanwhile,
Jill, seeing how hurt Chloe is by Billy's actions regarding Mac, pulls her son
aside and tells him he needs to make a decision about his marriage.

SUMMERTIME STORYLINES
Victor/Ashley/Adam
Look for the black sheep of the Newman clan to continue causing havoc for a
while. Victor isn't the only one that needs to worry about Adam, Jack does.
Adam's hellbent on revenge and will get it by hook or crook, the scary part for
viewers is that Adam's able to do so because the players involved do not think
he's a viable threat to them. The destruction he will cause will have a huge
affect on everyone.
Mary Jane/Nikki/Paul
Everything from what Mary Jane's doing in Genoa City to who she is will be
revealed. The schemes she's been pulling are nothing compared to what's coming
up. Mary Jane's existence in town will touch all especially Paul. For fans
wanting Paul to have a storyline, he will.
Phyllis/Nick/Sharon/Jack/Billy
Viewers will find out who Sharon's baby daddy is and it will introduce a bigger
storyline that will continue in the fall. It will include the Abbotts and
Newmans and also be a very heart wrenching for everyone involved.
Jana/Kevin/Amber/Daniel
The foursome are in a mystery that has a double impact. Daniel and Amber's
relationship will be influenced because of the nature of the secret and Kevin
and Jana's will also be affected because of the twist.
Katherine/Jill
Secrets involving the Chancellor family will be revealed that we know nothing
about and will be explosive for these ladies.
Cane/Lily
Even though they are married, their love affair will be in danger.
RUMOR
Neil/Tyra
Word is the faux Hamilton is pregnant for the Chancellor CEO. Neil is over the
moon about the news and some how Tyra gloats to Karen. (Hence me putting this in

John Driscoll Joins Y&R
« Thread Started on May 22, 2009, 6:57pm »
John Driscoll, best known for playing Coop Bradshaw on "Guiding Light" from 2004
to '09, has signed on to play Phillip Chancellor IV on "The Young and the
Restless." We don't yet know when he'll be showing up, but we're pretty
confident in assuming it will tie into the recent reappearance of Phillip
Chancellor III (Thom Bierdz) -- who was long thought dead (OK, we don't
technically know Thom is playing Phillip III ... but, c'mon!).
For those keeping score at home, Phil the Fourth is the grandson of gorgeous
Jill (Jess Walton) and the son of Phillip the Third and his then-wife Nina. Nina
has mentioned that Phillip IV's off fighting in Iraq, but it sounds like he's
coming back.
What do you think the Chancellors have planned for Genoa City?

As a result of the kidnapping drama, Luke and Damian will grow closer (which

Noah will remain a united front.

Carly/Craig/Rosanna
"We've got a lot more in store for Carly before Maura [West] heads off for
maternity leave. When Rosanna moves in, it will be harder for both of them to
hide that Carly has a problem. The fact that Craig and Carly are trying to cover
up Carly's addiction will continue to make Ro distrust Craig."
Damian/Meg/Lily/Holden/Paul
"Meg and Damian's blossoming friendship pits Damian against Dusty. Paul has
shown that he's not willing to give up Meg without a fight and he's got some
creative ways to get both guys out of the picture. The last thing Holden wants
is to have Damian involved with his family, so he's not going to be very happy
about his involvement with Meg. It will create some friction between him and
Lily."
Luke/Noah
"Noah's been working on the movie about his father and Luke will be very
supportive of his decision. Colonel Mayer returns on June 23."
Brad/Katie/Henry/Vienna
"Katie's pregnancy really brings these couples together. In fact, when Katie is
told she needs bed rest, it's Vienna who's chosen to fill her spot on OAKDALE
NOW. Henry is adamantly opposed to Vienna's new career choice and will take
drastic actions to get her off the show."
Hunter/Alison/Casey/Emily
"Hunter and Alison's friendship will deepen, which doesn't thrill Casey, but
it's Casey's animosity toward [newcomer] Riley that will really spell trouble
for this couple. Emily will find a surprising ally in Larry when she decides she
wants another baby."
Dusty/Bonnie
"They've got a love/hate relationship going on. Dusty is used to playing the

So much is happening on "As The World Turns" right now, we're just starting to
begin to process it all! We're especially happy to see Cady McClain back as
Rosanna -- and we'd be remiss in mentioning that we're ever so glad that shady
Mr. Quick was outed as a phony lawyer. But what will next week bring? Let's see
...
Speaking of Rosanna, she will finally realize something is remiss in the whole
Paul/Eliza situation -- despite the fact that she's been helping him. Next week
finds Rosanna issuing Paul a very stern warning about that help ... as in, don't
blow it! Will he take her words into consideration? Knowing Paul, we're thinking
not so much.
Vienna lost the baby, and is understandably sad. Henry isn't just sad -- he's
angry, and he can't seem to forgive Katie for "causing" Vienna to have her
accident. It doesn't help that Katie is blaming herself. But things are known to
change on a dime in Oakdale; look for Katie to keep a very big secret from Brad
next week. And by "secret," we may or may not mean something related to ... the
stork.
Oh, Carly. Drinking and driving is so lame sauce. And getting arrested is even
lame-saucier. Craig is almost at his wits end; next week, he goes to Jack for
help in setting Carly straight. And yes, as you might imagine, Carly is none too
pleased.
All this, PLUS: Don't forget that Ed Fry returns this coming week as Alison's
father, Larry McDermott. We're sure Larry's return will throw a monkey wrench
into whatever plans Alison's been dreaming up as of late -- though we do know
Alison and Casey are set to, ahem, "take their relationship to the next level."
Ooh la la!
Do you think Carly will finally get a handle on her drinking?

Alison. Later, Larry visits Susan at the hospital and they agree to leave the
past behind. Larry leaves. Alison asks Casey if he meant what he said in Old
Town, that he loves her. Casey doesn't deny it and they make love for the first
time.
Paul convinces Rosanna to ask the Farm Stand committee if he can stay
temporarily. Edna's suspicious of him, and the committee only agrees to let him
and Eliza stay because Rosanna vouches for him. Rosanna warns Paul to behave and
not ruin the new life she's made for herself.

THE HEATHER TOM AND JACK WAGNER INTERVIEW
« Thread Started Yesterday at 8:55am »
This week on The Bold and the Beautiful, Katie makes a decision about the future
of her strained relationship with Nick, and it looks like it's the beginning of
the end for this duo, which over the past year has endured so much tragedy and
little triumph.
Two of soaps most recognizable and respected performers, Heather Tom and Jack
Wagner, brought viewers some dynamic moments as Katie and Nick, including
Katie's heart transplant and the aftermath. In fact, it was Brad Bell who chose
the special episodes of Storm's suicide and Katie's receiving the gift of life
as his choice for Outstanding Drama Series for Daytime Emmy competition. His
decision paid off with a nomination.
TV SOAP sat down inside Heather Tom's exquisitely decorated dressing room (Yes,
she is an interior design consultant in her spare time) with her and her
co-star, Jack Wagner, for this moving and bittersweet interview, as two top
notch talents reflect on their work and the realization that they won't be
working so close anymore….or will they?
Here's Heather and Jack!
TV SOAP:
First off, congratulations to "B&B" for getting a nomination for Outstanding
Drama Series, and it's for the Storm suicide/Katie heart transplant episodes
that you two were a part of! What did you think of those shows?
HEATHER:
I thought those were really amazing shows, and we took the time with it. I think
Cindy Popp, who directed them did a beautiful job. Everything came together, the
writing, the music and the lighting, made it a great show. I think we have a
great shot this year. I think they were really emotional shows, too. Even if you
don't watch our show, they were interesting and you could get into them.
TV SOAP:
If we go back to the beginning of what drew Katie and Nick together, Jack, why
do you feel Nick was so supportive of her in the first place?
JACK:
All relationships that have chemistry are about two people who don't like each
other and that's how we started out. Our characters were a little bit at odds
with each other, and because of a tragedy…in this case, a heart transplant… it
drew them together. That's where the magic started, and Nick was in a heroic
position to be there for a woman who was really empty.
TV SOAP:
Then, didn't Nick take Katie away to an Island, and isn't that where you `made
love'?
HEATHER:
Unbeknownst to any of us… (She laughs)
JACK:
That never happened on-screen!
HEATHER:
We did some flashback stuff, and honestly we had no idea. I was not playing in
those scenes that we had sex, just the complete opposite of that! Then all of a
sudden, Brad Bell (executive producer and head writer, "B&B") called me one day
and said, "By the way, remember when you guys went to the islands?" And I go,
"Well that kind of changes everything I have been playing for the last few
months!"
JACK:
It kind of goes to show as actors, that this was "off-camera sex". I remember
Heather and I going, "What are we going to do here?" And we kind of tracked in
our minds, will it work or not? And it did work. We could have been ultimately
covering the fact that they had been intimate. So, that is what worked and was
justifiable, but it was backwards how it happened, so we shot it out of
sequence.
TV SOAP:
On "B&B" it's known that story direction can change quickly on a dime. How did
you adjust your performances?
HEATHER:
I am not sure it would have made any difference on how I played it, because I
wouldn't have wanted to tip my hand, no matter what. As an actor, I do give
myself secrets even if they don't have anything to do with anything, but that
would have been a fun secret to have. Even though I would not have wanted to
play that for the audience, I think that pretty much changed how the audience
perceived it. As an actor, I would have been playing more subtext, and on this
show you have to be open to all of the twists and turns. It can always go off in
some new direction.
TV SOAP:
When we last spoke, Jack, you referred to Nick as "The Seed Man" because he was
sleeping with and/or impregnating almost every woman on the show.
JACK:
I just show up at work and say, "Hi, will you marry me?
HEATHER:
And apparently he is very fertile!
TV SOAP:
The relationship is taking a turn now, and we are seeing the dissolution of the
Katie and Jack pairing. Heather, in your words, why has Katie been acting so
insecure?
HEATHER:
I think Katie feels residual guilt. She did this thing to her best friend that
was awful. While she loves Nick and she wants him, I think she feels its stolen
goods and it's a little tainted. He is back at work and he is working with
Bridget, and she knows he still has feelings for her. I think anyone would be
insecure in that situation.
JACK:
I agree with Heather. Where people agree they have crossed that boundary, and
they go through the initial rush of passion these two went through, all of a
sudden you are left with a dose of reality and its kind of an understanding. We
did not get to play out a whole lot of drama here, and to answer that other
question to make a quick turn like that, (which I think Heather is great at) is
a real challenge as an actor. That's why it's a play a day. You can't get ahead
of yourself in this medium, and that's the challenge
TV SOAP:
Now that "Breaking up Is Hard to Do", do you hope these two will remain
connected, or do you think they will fall by the wayside like other soap couples
who pretend their past never existed?
HEATHER:
I am hopeful they can maintain some of their history, and not throw it under the
bus, and try and forget that it ever happened. There were a lot of good things
that came out of it.
JACK:
It's about the commitment of the writing. Once I started working with Heather we
could do anything we want. We can be funny…we can cry together….
HEATHER:
And I felt that, too.
JACK:
We connected as actors. We have never really talked about it, but we did not
over- rehearse. We knew our lines. The beauty of working with Heather is that it
is so rich and she has a gift, and it's so unexpected. That is what is so great
about working with a talented actor. It just is there, and she has it all….
comedy, drama, and passion.
HEATHER:
Also, it was easy to do with an actor you really trust. I think that was there
with Jack from the start. We had mutual respect and trust, for sure. I was
really excited to be working with Jack. I felt an immediate camaraderie. You
have to trust that the actor you work with is going to throw the ball back at
you. I never for a moment doubted that we could play
with each other and throw each other
curveballs.
JACK:
I think they will go back to this sometime in the future. Brad has a tendency to
write that, but again, you never know.
TV SOAP:
What worked in the storyline?
HEATHER:
I have to say; when I read it I was hesitant about it. But, I thought the prom
worked, and was really pretty. I liked a lot of our earlier material when there
was a lot of nice banter and throwing the darts. Up until the "sex on the beach"
thing, I thought it was going in a nice direction. We will see what happens for
them in the future.
JACK:
Hers was an underlying defiance, and my character is defiant. So, when two
defiant characters butt heads, which they did, and for the time he was asking
her with tears in his eyes on the beach, "Please take the pills. I can't stand
to see you in pain," out of that came their lovemaking where they finally
surrendered to each other. I think that is what worked, and they challenged each
other. It was fun to watch and play. And these are challenges for an actor, when
you look at a script and go, "This is going to look so stupid!" Quite often on
daytime, I have to say the things I thought wouldn't work, did work!
HEATHER:
I would have to agree with that, too. It's like when I see something and go,
"Are you kidding me?" And then it actually works pretty well. Even the
flashbacks with the zits on my face, which I was HORRIFIED having to do, was
just awful, but I thought it was just funny.
JACK:
I learned from working with her, the more she bitches and moans on set, I know
it's going to be magic! If she is bitching and moaning, it will be awesome!
TV SOAP:
Will you go to the producers with issues if there is something you don't feel is
right for the integrity of your character, or if there is something you feel
completely ill at ease doing?
HEATHER:
I did take issue with the flashbacks and the pimples. Ultimately I lost, and I
was wrong. They write the show and we do our jobs, and I have to trust what they
write.
JACK:
Through experience, as far as acting, you get better as you get older with more
life experience. For me, when something doesn't work, I have to come in with an
option. You can't go in and just say, "This doesn't work." You have to go in
with a "What if?" and some other idea or two. "For me…would you consider this?"
I no longer do the type of thing where you would call Aaron Spelling and say
this and that, and then have him say, "You know, we can find someone else to
play that part!"
TV SOAP:
Heather…in a few words describe Jack?
HEATHER:
I would say he is really smart. I think that comes across at how he approaches
the role and in his work, and working with the other actors. Jack is really
trustworthy. The most important thing for an actor is that they are in this 110%
with you. I would say he is trustworthy outside of his work, too. I would think
that applies to his whole life.
TV SOAP:
Jack, tell me about working with Heather.
JACK:
This will be on a critical note, but positive. When Heather is unconscious, she
is the best actress on a daytime. When she removes herself, she is without a
doubt the most talented person on daytime television. We always have a tendency
to be conscious when we work so fast, and a lot has to do with speed sometimes,
but I feel so honored to have worked with her …
HEATHER:
Same here….
JACK:
She makes things fun and she makes things sad, which I like to feel everyday. I
also would like to say; I did not know what episode was nominated for Drama
Series for the Emmys. And so, congratulations Heather, because for her not to
get nominated (and I think she should have been nominated for that performance)
is a bit shocking to me. I remember that period of time. There was a block of a
month where Heather had about 40 pages a day, and she had five three-page
monologues. So by the end of it, I built a noose and we would walk around
rehearsal with it and say, "Who's going to work with Heather today?" and hang
ourselves because all we did was listen and look. The show will probably win an
Emmy, because she is awesome.
TV SOAP:
Heather, you are always pregnant in the storyline of each soap you have been on.
You have miscarried, had your baby stolen and/or switched, and I could go on. It
seems like the soap gods don't want you to have a baby and play the soap mom.
HEATHER:
I have had a baby stolen and one who died. I am childless in real life, as well.
The only thing this time was I was hoping that it would go on a little longer
and it would be fun if Katie was flaunting her belly, but she lost it so
quickly. Rubbing the belly, "Baby wants a cupcake," I was looking forward to
that, but "No!" (She laughs)
TV SOAP:
Jack are you looking forward to the next chapter in Nick's life?
JACK:
I always look forward to the next chapter. I embrace it. But, it's hard not to
take things personally because you really do get personal with these actors, and
when they go in different directions it feels sad. I am sure Heather feels the
same way. In your career you enjoy working with actors who do comedy, actors who
can cry, and different storylines are fun. Some storylines are not so much fun.
You embrace it and you have to learn to let it go.
TV SOAP:
What do you think about some other leading ladies on "B&B", namely Ashley Jones
(Bridget) and Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke) who are pivotal to Nick's story?
HEATHER:
I really liked what Ashley and I were doing. At the end we seemed to have a
little more bite to us. I don't think that is going to continue because they
have seemed to sanitize that out of our characters. What I love about daytime is
there is a built in history. This show has been on for more than two decades,
and you have that to draw on where you don't in primetime shows. There you have
to build your own history. Here at "B&B" we have our own history, let's use it.
That is what I find exciting with the other characters on the show, and with
Katherine and Ashley. We try to find those places.
TV SOAP:
Nick has been a man going back and forth to different women…..
JACK:
It's been a weird couple of years for me on the show. I thought the chemistry
between Heather and Ashley was interesting, and then the way they would embrace
and then go about cat fighting. I thought they brought a new youthful energy to
the show.
HEATHER:
I thought all three of us were good together.
JACK:
I agree with Heather. It just did not have enough history. You go through
Bridget, Brooke and Taylor on this show, and they seem to go back to that and
they will go back to this because it worked. It has some fun energy. I just
remember that Nick was pretending he wasn't there when he saw two women
fighting. A man always wants to get out of the room. So it was those
uncomfortable feelings, as the man in those scenes, that I know worked, because
I felt so uncomfortable.
TV SOAP:
Jack, who is the ultimate love of Nick's life?
JACK:
I would love to say, I knew. I would say they are heading towards Bridget being
his ultimate love, but I just don't think that is the case. I think they are
going to have to get back to Brooke one day. They keep touching on it and going
away. I think their super couple here is Ridge and Brooke. But, I think Nick
made an impact with Brooke and every time those two touched, the storyline
crossed and something happened. So,
to not get back to that some
day, the audience would be
robbed.
TV SOAP:
Recently, Don Diamont has started on "B&B" as Bill Spencer Jr. Heather, you knew
him from your days together on "Y&R". How do you think he will fit in here?
HEATHER:
I am thrilled and happy he is on the show. I think he will make a great addition
to the show. I think it will be interesting to see what could happen with Bill
and Katie. So, we shall see. It will be interesting now, because you have the
Nick character that is the hero character, and you have Bill, who is sort of the
anti-hero. So it might be dynamic!
JACK:
I have not worked with Don, but I think having any male character on this show
besides me is a mistake (laughs)
TV SOAP:
And now, the most recent male casting buzz has Rick Hearst reprising his role as
"Whip" Jones later in June. How do you feel about Rick coming into the fold?
JACK:
All male characters, other than Nick, are a mistake, thank you. (Laughs again)
HEATHER:
I am thrilled. I have kind of had a crush on him since his Guiding Light days.
TV SOAP:
I could see "Whip" and Katie together, easily. I want to suggest it.
HEATHER:
Yeah, I have already written the email, but apparently he won't be whipping it
out for Katie anytime soon. But you never know!

SOF Week In Review
« Thread Started on May 22, 2009, 7:50pm »
Bill makes waves, Katie makes changes and Nick makes his move.
Taylor told Ridge his marriage to Brooke wasn't valid and that she wanted him
back.
Donna went to Bill's office to get him to back Stephanie off of Eric and
Forrester Creations. He indicated that he would, but only if she would sleep
with him. Eric later invited Bill over to dinner to reason with him, but Bill
offered to buy FC instead. Bill then made crude remarks against the Logans and
Eric ordered him out of his house. In private, Bill again told Donna he would
leave Eric alone if she slept with him.
After telling Steffy and Rick to break things off for good, Brooke went to Ridge
who implied if she didn't make sure their kids stayed away from each other,
their marriage might not make it. Later, Taylor warned Brooke she would be there
for Ridge to pick up the pieces of their failed marriage.
Bridget told Nick she was resigning from Jackie M because she couldn't work with
him. She then went out on a date with Owen and tried, but couldn't close the
deal with him because she kept thinking about Nick. Owen understood, because
there was someone else in his life as well.
Realizing Nick was still in love with Bridget, Katie wrote him a "Dear John"
letter and went to the bar to get drunk. She ran into Bill who took her back to
his room, where she passed out.
Nick asked Jackie to help him get Bridget back and they hightailed it over to
Owen's place where Nick promised his ex-wife he would do whatever it took to
make things right between them. Bridget succumbed and they kissed. Nick and
Bridget were later shocked to see Owen and Jackie making out after Owen assured
Jackie he and Bridget didn't sleep together.
Nick took Bridget home and found Katie's letter. After much pleading and
promising on Nick's part, Bridget caved and decided to give him another chance
and they proceeded to have reunion sex.
Bill called Donna to tell her he had her sister in his room. She ran over and
took care of a very drunk and nauseous Katie. Bill made more sexual remarks,
Donna thanked him for helping Katie and he kissed her.
Stephanie came to see Eric who berated her for her blogs, telling her she was
embarrassing herself and destroying her children's legacy.

For Bridget & Nick, 'Dear John' leads to 'Beautiful' Moment
By Carolyn Hinsey
Bridget and Nick find a "Dear John" letter to him from his fiancée, Katie, today
on "The Bold and the Beautiful." So what do they do?
"They make love," says Ashley Jones, who plays Bridget. "She says she wants to
go home, and he says she is home. Then he picks her up and carries her upstairs.
It's a sweet moment."
Not for Katie, who has finally seen the handwriting on the wall about the two
former marrieds and realized Nick would never love her the way he loves Bridget.
"Bridget is surprised that Katie caught on so quickly, and had the self-respect
to come to this conclusion on her own," says Jones.
One could make the argument that Bridget could use a little self-respect, too,
for hooking up with Nick ... again.
"The bottom line is, there is no great answer as to why she goes back to Nick
for the millionth time other than that she really loves him," says Jones. "He is
her great love, and also her Achilles heel."
Nick goes all out to prove his love to his ex-wife.
"It's very sensual and romantic," says Jones. "We show a little more skin than
usual in a typical soap opera montage, but I'm hoping it looks really pretty.
These two have had so many moments of the rougher version and the
superpassionate version. This is exactly what it should be - a real soap moment,
with candles and flowers, but also raw and spontaneous."
In the same bed he shared with Katie until today?
"Oh, please don't ask me that," responds Jones with a laugh.
Post-romp, the star-crossed lovers will have to figure out if they can go the
distance this time.
"My guess is they will, because Bridget is smart enough to see that Nick has
changed. He has grown up. And I think our writers want to see them finally find
happiness, too."
Look for Nick to make a few sacrifices to prove his love.
"She asks him to give up cigars," says Jones. "She doesn't really care about the
cigars, but it's symbolic. That's going to be fun."
Comings and goings: As hinted last week, Thom Bierdz is back on "The Young and
the Restless" as Phillip Chancellor 3rd. ... Catherine Hickland is returning to
"One Life to Live" as Lindsay. ... Tom Pelphrey (Jonathan) is the latest
"Guiding Light" actor to return before the show ends in September.

There's more to come, but here's what we know so far about The Bold and the
Beautiful for the week of May 25…
Stephanie gets another attractive incentive from Bill to stay on his side of the
feud with Forrester. It seems she's conflicted though, as Stephanie goes to Eric
giving him a list of demands in exchange for calling Bill off. Looks like Eric
doesn't cave, as Stephanie then goes to Ridge to recruit him to join forces with
her and Bill.
Tired of Stephanie's threats, Donna vows that her family will prevail no matter
what. Brooke also lashes out at Stephanie by producing a webcast of her own.
After breaking things off with Nick, Katie goes to see him, but discovers that
he has already moved on.
As for Nick, it sounds like he finds out about Owen and Jackie, as he attempts
to bribe Owen to stay away from his mother. Will Owen take him up on it?

Gareis Big, Bold and Beautiful in Italy
« Thread Started on May 18, 2009, 12:59pm »
PRESS RELEASE:
City in Italy Bestows Honorary Citizenship
on The Bold and the Beautiful's Jennifer Gareis
The City of Militello Val di Catania, Italy, on the island of Sicily, held an
official public event on May 8, 2009, to grant honorary citizenship to actress
Jennifer Gareis and her family.
Gareis stars as Donna Logan, the wife of Eric Forrester (John McCook) and sister
of Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) on THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL.
The ceremony was the culmination of three days of festivities organized by
Sicilia Mondo, a worldwide organization devoted to the promotion and
preservation of Sicilian culture. It was officiated by the city's mayor, Sindaco
Antonio Lo Presti, and attended by thousands of members of the public and
numerous local press. A celebratory procession through the streets preceded the
ceremony, with the Gareis family riding on an ornate horse-drawn Sicilian cart,
accompanied by the music of a traditional Sicilian band and a medieval
flag-waving troop.
During the procession, Gareis and her family were besieged for autographs by the
throng, and many handed their small children to Gareis to hold for photos. After
the ceremony, Gareis saluted the crowd with cries of "Viva Militello!" as
fireworks lit up the sky.
THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL is the most successful foreign dramatic serial in
Italy, broadcast weekdays on national Italian broadcaster, Canale 5. The series
and its cast enjoy high-profile celebrity status there, owing to this phenomenal
long-lasting ratings success.
Gareis and her family made the trip to Italy in order to get reacquainted with
their Sicilian heritage. Following an investigation some time ago by Gareis'
mother, who with the help of locals, traced family ancestors back to Militello,
the family was able to find and contact descendents of Ms. Gareis'
great-grandmother, Sebastiana Tringali.
While in Militello, Gareis visited a local bakery, where she assisted with the
baking of local specialties, and spent time serving the locals and getting
acquainted with her relatives at her uncle's local café-bar, Bar New York.

SUMMER PREVIEWS (SOD)
« Thread Started on May 21, 2009, 4:55pm »
Previews Executive Producer Ellen Wheeler, "You can expect to see Springfield
come together for a lot of events over the summer, but we don't want to give
away how the show comes to a close at CBS." Adds Co-Head Writer Jill Lorie
Hurst, "We got babies, we got murder…."
Big Returns
Jonathan, Danny, Michelle, Mindy and Ed "are already woven into the stories as
we go forward now to the end," says Wheeler. Hurst adds, "Rather than bringing
old characters back for one big event, we want to bring them back at times that
most respect their history."
Reva/Edmund/Josh/Jeffrey
"I think we will do everything we can to avoid a [murder] trial," Wheeler says.
"That doesn't mean it won't come to a conclusion and lead us on lots of twists
and turns. The men in Reva's life, all of them, will go to great lengths to help
her and keep [her out of prison]."
Danny/Michelle
"We have the Bauer BBQ coming up and definitely Danny and Michelle and Ed will
be part of the story," Wheeler previews. "We won't be bringing Danny and
Michelle back with the mob chasing them."
Bill/Lizzie
"They get married mid-July and they're so happy to finally be together that we
don't want to steal away from that joy before we move on to a baby," says
Wheeler.
Olivia/Natalia/Frank/Rafe
"Natalia and Olivia will continue to have ups and downs," Wheeler says. "Jessica
[Leccia, Natalia] is being wonderful and taking a very short maternity leave for
us. Rafe's going to need his own special attention as he gets out of prison.
Natalia and Olivia are vastly aware of that and it will create some struggles
with them."
Shayne/Dinah/Mallet/Marina
Says Wheeler, "They all love and want the best for [Henry] and each other.
They're all in the murder story, as well. This story alone could full up a
summer."
Phillip/James/Alan/Beth
"The Ponzi scheme coming to a head is the catalyst that leads us in to the next
part of story for the Spauldings," says Wheeler.
Cyrus/Natasha"Natasha has a mission and she's got a very specific goal while
she's in town," says Hurst. "We have some really fun things planned for Cyrus in
the next few months."

Rest assured that even though it's a holiday weekend, CBS will be airing an
original episode of "Guiding Light" on Monday. So enjoy your time with family
and friends and get acquainted with that yummy BBQ fare. Springfield will be
waiting for you when you get back.
Here's what's going on next week in Springfield:
Now that Remy found Edmund taking a dirt nap in the water, the search is on for
a culprit. Reva seems to be the lead suspect. We know this because she gets
arrested. Could Lady Shayne have offed big meanie Edmund? It's not like she
hasn't stabbed him before (in self-defense, to her credit). This is all a shame,
because she's a new mom -- and new mommies shouldn't go to jail.
Shayne will finally grow some long-needed guts and will fess up to Marina about
Baby Henry being his son. We've gotta give "GL" credit for not dragging this out
... in most towns (OK, daytime towns), this would remain quiet for years.
Will Natalia and Olivia finally set aside their fears and move forward with what
seems so obvious to everyone else? Even though Natalia told Father Ray about her
Sapphic feelings and did some praying, she was still on the fence about moving
in with Olivia. But next week comes the larger question of whether they should
make their living arrangement permanent ... because, you know, they're kind of
girlfriends. Whatever, it's not like they haven't lived together before.
Being a good father is hard, even when your kids are law-abiding citizens. But
when your son is going down the Madoff path and has concocted a Ponzi scheme,
what's a pop to do? If you're Philip, YOU take the fall! But how far is he
willing to go to save his son? Is he willing to go to the slammer, especially
after he just got out with his sanity?
What would you like to see happen next week?

Gina Tognoni Interview

THE DANIEL COSGROVE INTERVIEW
« Thread Started on May 21, 2009, 6:48am »
Daniel Cosgrove just has that "it" factor that has brought him rave reviews from
his peers and fans as the multi-faceted Bill Lewis on CBS's Guiding Light. Last
year at Emmy time, he picked up a nod for Supporting Actor his first time out of
the gate, and this year he is up for the Lead Actor prize.
With Guiding Light finishing its run on CBS two and half weeks after the Daytime
Emmy telecast slated for August 30th, will the light shine upon Cosgrove as the
sentimental favorite? Guiding Light has always been successful at the Daytime
Emmys, if you look at their cast that includes Kim Zimmer (Reva), Gina Tognoni
(Dinah), Jordan Clarke (Bill), Justin Deas (Buzz), and Crystal Chappel (Olivis).
Those are only some of the heavy-hitters who received Daytime's highest honor
from the longest running show in broadcast history.
In this short feature with Daniel, we discuss his choice for the competition,
what it would mean to win, and where he was when he found out the big news. And
yes, many have already heard it was…the toilet! Daniel elaborates. Here is
Springfield's golden boy, Daniel Cosgrove!
MICHAEL:
What did you submit this year? Last year you made it your first time out in the
Outstanding Supporting Actor category. This year you have graduated to Lead
Actor.
DANIEL:
The episode I submitted was the day Bill and Ava get married. When it starts
off, Bill is in the study and Lizzie comes in to tell him the baby Ava is
carrying is not his, and I don't believe her. She has proof, and then I am like,
"Oh, my God. What am I going to do?" Then I reflect a little bit and then lay
down the rules to Ava, and we still end up getting married.
So, it had a little story and a beginning, middle, and end in one episode. With
Ava and the wedding, you saw a few different sides of Bill, and him take a
stand. To be quite honest, I looked at a couple of things around the baby Max
storyline with Remy and Bill and Eva and Lizzie. But, looking at a couple of
those episodes, there was so many people involved and I would have to put that
in the Supporting Actor category, because that is how it looked.
MICHAEL:
The Emmy voting process has been very convoluted! Last year I watched your reels
and they were tremendous.
DANIEL:
That's funny you mention last year. I only had aired for six weeks or so, and
that is the length of time I had to draw from. They gave me an "In the light"
episode. I was hesitant in submitting it because it was a little long, but then
I thought I am just going to do it because there were a lot of scenes I usually
was never able to have. I had some with Justin Deas and it was changed up with
the intervention stuff. The line between supporting actor and lead actor in
daytime is a bit blurred. A lot of time you think, "What category should I go
in?" But then you take Jordan Clarke, they did not let him carry story, and when
he came back to Guiding Light he was the supporting actor. This is a man who
should be a lead on our show who is not given the material for that.
MICHAEL:
How did you end up making the decision to leap from Supporting to Lead Actor?
DANIEL:
The producers asked me when they were doing the categories if I wanted to go
into lead. I was thinking of going in supporting because of that whole seniority
thing, and it's usually based on your age, or how long you might have been with
the show. I just felt that the baby Max storyline, although it was short was
centered on me, and so I am a lead actor in that storyline. A lot of stuff I do
currently, I am more in supporting. So it varies, and there is a rotation in
daytime as to who is front burner.
MICHAEL:
You are the newbie in the lead actor group along with "DAYS" Peter Reckell (Bo).
It's great to see new blood get in the finals.
DANIEL:
It was such a nice surprise. I was thrilled, and I did not think I would get in.
I did not expect it. We have so many talented people to work with whom I get to
see everyday. Whenever these contest things comes up I know a lot of people who
I totally admire and respect, and you are thinking, "Oh, gosh, what does my
award really mean if someone so talented is completely overlooked?" I reflect on
these types of things, but don't take it too seriously.
MICHAEL:
So what would happen if your name is called and you win? How sweet would that be
as Guiding Light comes to a close?
DANIEL:
Talk about long shot! I am like the little filly horse that just won the
Preakness! Look, it would be a thrill and I would be so surprised, especially
the last year of Guiding Light at 72 years. What a nice way to go out.
MICHAEL:
Where were you when you found out? I read a quote that you were busy in the
bathroom!
DANIEL:
I was on the toilet, Michael. When they asked me I thought, "Should I be classy
or just be honest?" If being dead honest is regarded as classless, then so be
it, and that is exactly where I was. The phone was ringing and it was in my
pocket, and I was ignoring it. Then I thought, "Three times in a row… in a
minute?" It's either an emergency, or I must be popular. So I looked at the
phone and I saw a couple of different numbers I recognized. It still did not
dawn on me, and I went back to reading my newspaper. Then I listened to a
message, and then I got what was going
on. Maybe I should have made it classier!

will be emotional for all of the participants. It's not just about the
revelation; it goes way beyond that and redefines everyone involved."
Victor/Adam/Ashley
"Adam is going to be running amok for quite some time. The danger of Adam is not
only does he have Victor in his sights, he also has Jack in his sights. He is
just driven to destroy these two men at any expense and then he becomes even
more of a threat because he's able to fly under the radar. He's trouble and is
going to be messing things up, generating a riptide of destruction."
Paul/Nikki/Mary Jane
"Mary Jane's identity comes to light. We're seeing just the tip of the iceberg
with her. We'll learn what she's in town to do, and it's going to be a really
huge surprise. I think it's going to be tremendous fun. Her presence is going to
affect Paul as well as everyone else on the canvas. But Paul is going to be
front and center in this story."
Cane/Lily
"They both stand to lose what they value and desire the most. They have a
beautiful romance, but it will be threatened."
Kay/Jill
"There are going to be huge revelations; there are still secrets about the
Chancellor family history that have not yet been discovered. There are going to
be triple whammies in this story."
Kevin/Jana/Daniel/Amber
"They're going to be involved in a mystery that's going going to be twofold in
its revelations. It has an explosive effect on Daniel and Amber due to the
reveal of one secret, but under that revelation is another twist that's going to
impact Kevin and Jana."

WILLIS will return as Detective Gil Wallace. TRICIA CAST will put in an
appearance as Nina. JOHN DRISCOLL is scheduled to arrive in Genoa City

late Philip Chancellor III. Philip III was raised by Jill. It was not
until long AFTER the death of Philip III that Jill learned that the REAL
Philip had been kidnapped by a jealous Katherine Chancellor while Kay was
boozing it up. Katherine gave the child to one of Kay's drinking buddies.
Kay's friend died shortly afterward and the baby was raised in Australia
as Ethan "Cane" Ashby by the brother of Kay's former drinking buddy.
DRISCOLL is best known for his role as Coop on Guiding Light. Philip IV
will immediately become involved with Lily, Chloe and Amber. Preliminary

YOUNG AND RESTLESS
At Katherine's Memorial Day Barbecue at the Chancellor mansion, Billy is
dumbfounded when Billy realizes that Mac and Raul were involved in a
serious relationship while they were working together in Darfour. When
Raul gets a moment alone with Mac, Raul reminds Mac that he DOES love her.
Afterward, Raul and Mac manage to explain the progress of their
relationship to Billy. Billy tries to pretend that he is thrilled for
their happiness. When Raul confides to Billy that Raull plans to marry
Mac, Billy tries to reassure Raul that Billy has moved on from the
relationship which he once shared with Mac - and wishes Raul and Mac all
the happiness in the world. Later, Raul pops the question to Mac. Mac
promises to think about it.
At Neil's place, Tyra admits that she is nervous about going to Katherine
Chancellor's barbecue as Neil's official date. However, when Devon gets an
opportunity to be alone with Tyra, Devon quizzes Tyra about the reasons
WHY Tyra failed to mention to anyone that Tyra was never actually related
to the Hamilton family in any way. When Neil notices how tense Devon is
whenever he is around Tyra, Tyra finally explains to Neil that Devon
learned that Tyra was NEVER related to the Hamilton family. Tyra is
mildly surprised when Neil assures that he totally understands her reasons
for keeping her family background a secret.
Kevin is unnerved when Detective Gil stops by the coffee house with E mail
and letters which have come into the police station, which complained
about the way that Kevin and Amber got off with no more than a slap on the
wrist. Kevin feels sad when Gil reminds Kevin that today is the
anniversary of Cassie's death. Afterward, Jana spots a depressed Daniel
at The Athletic Club - and convinces Daniel to go with her to Katherine's
barbecue. When Kevin arrives at the barbecue, he shows some of the E
mails and letters to Amber. Jana urges Kevin to keep the letters to
remind himself of the person he NEVER wants to be again.
At Cassie's grave, Nick is stunned when Sharon suddenly blurts out the
news that she IS pregnant - and that Nick COULD be the baby's father.
Unbeknownst to Nick and Sharon Phyllis has arrived at the cemetery with
flowers for Cassie's grave, and Phyllis overhears Sharon breaking the news
to Nick. Stunned, Phyllis scurries away from the cemetery - WITHOUT
revealing her presence to Nick and Sharon. In the meantime, Nick assures
Sharon that Nick is convinced that NICK is the father of Sharon's baby -
but Sharon insists that Nick COULD be VERY wrong - and rushes away from
Cassie's grave. When Phyllis returns to the Restless Style office, she is
calls Jack and demands that Jack meet her there. When Jack arrives, Jack
is stunned when Phyllis suddenly slaps his face. While complaining to Jack
about the way that Jack kept Sharon's baby news a secret, Phyllis lets
slip the news that BILLY could ALSO be the father of Sharon's expected
child. Phyllis is astonished that Jack did NOT know about Billy yet - and
attempts to apologize. Jack blasts Phyllis for the way that Phyllis,
Nick, Sharon and Billy ALL knew that Sharon was ALSO hitting the sheets
with Billy - but decided to keep Jack in the dark. After Jack rushes away
from the magazine office, Nick returns. When Nick says nothing to Phyllis
about Sharon's baby news - Phyllis remains mum as well. At the same time,
Sharon meets with Noah and informs her son about the expected baby.
Sharon is pleasantly surprised when Noah seems to be excited at the
prospect of a new sibling. In the meantime, Jack sits alone, remembering
all of the little signals which he saw - but failed to notice - which
SHOULD have tipped him off that Sharon had been hitting the sheets with
Billy. Later, when Jack receives a call from Billy, Jack does NOT pick up
the phone and, afterward, throws the phone across the room.
Meanwhile, at the Kay's barbecue, Sharon and Billy discuss Sharon's
delicate condition in hushed tones - but their conversation is almost
overheard by Chloe. Later, sharon and Daniel share some of their memories
of Cassie.
When Katherine learns that Nina and Amber are considering mentioning the
baby switch in the movie which they are working on - Kay confides to Amber
that she does NOT understand WHY Amber would want that in the movie.
Katherine is stunned when Nini admits that it is NINA who believes that
the baby switch story SHOULD be an important part of the movie.
Afterward, Kay assures NIna that Kay is willing to trust Nina's vision.

Y&R -- CHLOE TAKES A STAND - After learning about Billy's affair with
Sharon, Chloe makes a heart-breaking decision. Adam tells Ashley that
Victor asked Adam to spy on Ashley for Victor. Later, using his new
surveillance equipment, Adam spies on Ashley and Victor. Lily asks Cane
if he is keeping secrets from him. Later, Cane is stunned by Lily's
surprise. Jack confronts Billy about Billy's affair with Sharon. When
RAUL returns - it will be revealed that RAUL had an affair with MAC while
both of them were working in Darfur. The news about Raul and Mac upsets
Billy - and Billy is even more upset when RAUL proposes to Mac on May 26.
-- DAVID LAGO will return as Raul some time during May. THOM BIERDZ
is currently appearing as the mysterious "Uncle Langley" whom Cane touches
base with in Australia. THOM BIERDZ is the actor who created the role of
PHILIP CHANCELLOR III years ago. Supposedly, CANE is actually PHILIP III.
And it remains to be seen whether or not BIERDZ will return to Genoa City
as a look-alike - or AS the presumed dead PHILIP III. Philip III grew up
as the son of JILL and PHILIP CHANCELLOR II. Philip Chancellor II was
married to KATHERINE at the time that Philip initiated an affair with Jill
- and Jill became pregnant. PHILIP CHANCELLOR III was the husband of NINA
- and would be the father of PHILIP CHANCELLOR IV - who is ALSO scheduled
to be returning to Genoa City soon.

that he just wanted to make sure that Ashley was OK. After Adam returns
to his room Adam is pleased when he is able to watch as Ashley has another
nightmare about Sabrina.
While Lily and Cane are still on their honeymoon, Cane is unnerved when
Lily produces some tickets to Australia and suggests that they extend
their honeymoon another two weeks so that Lily can visit Australia with
Cane. However, Cane nervously explains that Cane believes that his life
did not really begin UNTIL Cane found Jill, Katherine and Lily. In the
meantime, Cane's "Uncle Langley" tends bar in Australia. Back in Genoa
City, Katherine and Nina visi
