***********************************************************

This was sent to me in email...

Clearwater, Florida - Guiding Light has been on television for 52 years
and before that, on radio. The show is scheduled to go off the air in
September, leaving a hole in the hearts of fans all over TV land.
88-year-old Charlotte Weintraub remembers listening to the show on the
radio, and says she has been a dedicated follower of the show for close to
57 years. Today when she sits down to watch the show she will be visited
by GL alum Crystal Hunt. Hunt played the character Lizzie Spalding on the
show for three years. Since then, Hunt has gone on to play in movies like
Sydney White. I talked to both ladies about what keeps people hooked on
the soaps. Click on the video to watch.

his role as Danny in May. GL confirmed earlier this year that a Michelle Bauer

long ago in this business to never say never to anything. If something
interesting were presented

to me, I certainly would consider it seriously."

Y&R PreVUE: Week of April 27 Edition
Sunday, April 26, 2009 11:00 PM ET | By Venus Stone

-- Cold busted...

THIS WEEK ON: THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS

Gloria gets a big dose of 'brush off' from Katherine, Monday April 27. That same
day, Adam may be

basking in the afterglow of love-making with Heather, but Victor's warnings
about making trouble

may leave a bitter taste in his mouth. On Tuesday, April 28, Ashley insists she
hears the cries of

a baby.

The Inside Story: Down for the Count
Determined that Sharon goes down stealing, Phyllis continues to talk to Lauren
about making sure

charges are pressed against her nemesis. While Phyllis is putting the pressure
on Lauren, Sharon,

on the other hand wants to make things right by doing the right thing. She
decides to write out a

confession about everything she has taken. Nick, realizing that she's not
changing her mind, tries

talking her out of it but her mind is made up. Nick tells Sharon he only wants
to help her and make

sure she realizes what consequences are in store by her going to the police.
Sharon points out that

the best thing that he could do for her is to go back to the family he has.
Meanwhile, after Nick

has left, Sharon begins to get a nagging feeling about what happened to her room
and decides to do

some sluething. She soon finds herself seeing Phyllis on a survillence tape
entering her room on

the night that she and Nick were up at the Abbott cabin. She quickly gives the
information over to

the authorities. At Newman Enterprises, Nick approaches Phyllis about how things
have been between

them and admits that he wants to be with her. Phyllis is thrilled that Nick is
returning to her and

they are preparing to head home to make up when the police arrive, ready to
arrest Phyllis for

breaking and entering. A stunned Nick heads back over to see Sharon and insists
she drop the

charges against his wife. Heather, who is there to take her statement is not
pleased when Nick

sidelines her and takes Sharon's written confession and burns it in the
fireplace. Nick reminds

Sharon that it is the anniversary of Cassie's death and that enough has happened
already for her to

be dealing with more problems in her life. Meanwhile back at the police station
Phyllis is

approached by Jack who wonders why Nick isn't there by her side. When Phyllis
begins to wonder that

herself, Jack tells her it's time to end the war with Sharon for good. At that
same time, Lauren

arrives ready to press charges against Sharon but Phyllis convinces her that
it's time to just let

it go. When Nick arrives Phyllis lets him know that Lauren won't be pressing
charges after all and

he quickly gives the news to Sharon in hopes that she drops her charges against
Phyllis. Annoyed

that Phyllis is once again coming out the winner of Nick's heart, Sharon tells
him she'll drop the

charges on one condition: he stay out of her life for good.

A Closer Look: Wedding Bells Ring
Katherine is more than ready to tie the knot with Murphy and is thrilled when
Brock and Nina return

to help celebrate the nuptials. Amber and Mac busy themselves with wedding
arrangements while

Nikki, who is Kay's matron of honor does her best to get Jill to put aside her
anger long enough to

join in the festivities. Jill tells Nikki that if she were to arrive all there
would be is

heartache, since she still misses having Katherine as a part of her life. In an
effort to get her

mind off of everything that has happened between her and Katherine, Jill heads
to the Genoa City

Athletic Club and makes some surprising newe drinking buddies in that of Gloria
and Jeffrey. Later

that day, all of Katherine's family and friends are there awaiting the
bride-to-be and groom to

take their places as the ceremony gets underway. As Katherine and Murphy get
ready to say their

vows to one another, they are unaware that Jill has decided to come to wedding

Victor's concern for Ashley grows.
Kevin fights back.

Tuesday 28th April, 2009:
Phyllis is arrested.
Victoria and Colleen face-off.

Thursday 30th April, 2009:

Jill makes a surprising confession.
Chloe is betrayed.

Friday 1st May, 2009:
Kay and Murphy get married and its a wedding to remember.
Jill, Jeff and Gloria team up against Victor.
Sharon makes a discovery.

> Here are NEW scoops for the week of May 4th, courtesy Meghan @ Toni's:
- A drunken Jill crashes Katherine and Murphy's wedding.
- Ashley is rushed to the hospital.
- Chloe stumbles upon a secret and has a surprising reaction.
- Sharon has a vision.

> Here are May Sweeps Scoops from SOD:
Victor/Ashley/Nikki: "Victor, Ashley and Nikki have a huge storyline which is
front and center, and

it's going to revisit a lot of show history. Nikki and Victor can never
completely escape each

other, but what I think is really interesting about their relationship is we're
not simply telling

the same story over and over."

Jack/Sharon/Nick/Phyllis: "We're turning the foursome upside down, but in terms
of who decides to

be with whom and how this all plays out, all bets are off. Phyllis's buttons
have now been pushed

and she's going to be unpredictable."

Kay/Jill: "There's the potential for fireworks, but the story is based on
emotions and the bond

they share. It's going to be a fight for both of them as to whether they
continue with this

relationship or not."

Weddings: "Of the weddings, I can tell you that Kay and Murphy are walking down
the aisle. We were

all very interested in telling the story about finding love late in life. The
other big wedding is

going to be a coming together of characters who've known each other a very long
time and are

principal characters. They've both had involvements with other people over the
years, and for them

to find each other is going to be very satisfying. Again, it's a very unexpected
romance."

Adam/Victor: "We're going to continue to see more of the darkness that is within
Adam."

Mary Jane: "She has a very dark side. She is willing to pretty much go to any
length to get what

she wants. But the complications and twists and fun in this story are going to
be about this very

carefully crafted plan of Victor's going awry."

Billy/Mac/Chloe: "He's torn between the drama of having a family with Chloe and
the draw of

Mackenzie returning with new obstacles to keep them apart."

Kevin/Jana/Amber/Daniel/Gloria/Michael: "This story is about hope because Kevin
is a survivor and

he continues to fight against the effects of this. His loved ones rally around
him. Jana's

headaches are about the bond she and Kevin share, but it's possible that there
could be something

more going on there than we first thought."

> Here are scoops for the week of April 27th, courtesy Meghan @ Toni's:
- Phyllis is arrested.
- Kay and Murphy get married.
- Colleen thwarts Victor's attempts to get her off the Newman board.
- Jack has sex with Mary Jane.
- Ashley is being set up.

SOW

On the heels of Kay and Murphy's happy nuptials this week, wedding bells are
slated to ring for two

more Genoa City couples this May. Co-Head Writer Scott Hamner fills us in on the
love stories to

watch and the characters to be wary of.

May Weddings: "There's going to be a coming together of some characters who have
known each other

for a very long time. For them to find each other is going to be a very
satisfying twist. One is a

very unexpected romance."

Sharon/Jack/Nick/Phyllis: How far will Sharon, Jack, Nick and Phyllis go to hold
onto love? "We are

turning that foursome upside down and all bets are off. Phyllis has a lot of
fear that she has

internalizes. Her buttons have been pushed. She's going to be very
unpredictable."

Victor/Nikki/Ashley: "Victor, Nikki and Ashley are going to have a huge
storyline. It's going to

involve the Abbott family, as well as all of the Newmans, and it's going to
revisit a lot of show

history. It's a brilliant new way to make that triangle a very vital,
front-burner story."

Adam: "Expect more and more darkness within Adam. He's complicated in the same
way his father is

and holds grudges very much like Victor. He can feel and know what the wrong
thing or right thing

is to do in any given situation and often chooses the wrong thing."

Billy/Chloe/Mac: "Billy is turn between the draw of having a family with Chloe
and the draw of an

old romantic interest, Mac. The historical obstacle of Billy and Mac being
related is no longer

there, but he now has a wife and a child. Billy's feelings for Chloe are
sometimes deeper than he

is aware of or acknowledges, so it's not an easy choice between one woman and
the other."

Mary Jane: "Mary Jane has a very dark side. She's willing to go to any lengths
to get what she

wants. The complications and the twist in this story are going to be about this
very carefully

crafted plan going awry."

Katherine/Jill: "The estrangement that developed during the time that Jill
thought Kay was Marge

has opened some old wounds and generated some new wounds. The intensity of
feelings both women are

having now are very extreme. The love they feel for each other and their
broken-heartedness about

losing that mother/daughter relationship is going to generate a lot of
fireworks. It's going to be

a fight for both of them as to whether they choose to continue in this
relationship or not."

Kevin: Kevin fights to come to terms with how the tragedy of his abusive past
still impacts his

life. "It's a story about hope because Kevin is a survivor. Michael will be the
one who is the most

instrumental in reaching Kevin and helping him see that this kind of setbach is
not proof that he's

a hopeless case. Rather, he needs to dig deeper within himself to find what he
needs to move

forward and triumph.

Returning Favorites: More beloved faces from the past will reappear in Genoa
City. "We're trying to

embrace the idea that story begets story. It's safe to say the returns of these
popular characters

from the show's history are going to affect every character on the canvas."

FROM SOD

"Oh my God, hold on to your seat," teases Co-Head Writer Scott Hamner. "There
will be three

weddings and surprise returns from past characters that will affect everyone on
the canvas."

Victor/Ashley/Nikki
"Victor, Ashley and Nikki have a huge storyline which is front and center, and
it's going to

revisit a lot of show history. Nikki and Victor can never completely escape each
other, but what I

think is really interesting about their relationship is we're not simply telling
the same story

over and over."

Jack/Sharon/Nick/Phyllis
"We're turning the foursome upside down, but in terms of who decides to be with
whom and how this

all plays out, all bets are off. Phyllis's buttons have now been pushed and
she's going to be

unpredictable."

Kay/Jill
"There's the potential for fireworks, but the story is based on emotions and the
bond they share.

It's going to be a fight for both of them as to whether they continue with this
relationship or

not."

Weddings
"Of the weddings, I can tell you that Kay and Murphy are walking down the aisle.
We were all very

interested in telling the story about finding love late in life. The other big
wedding is going to

be a coming together of characters who've known each other a very long time and
are principal

characters. They've both had involvements with other people over the years, and
for them to find

each other is going to be very satisfying. Again, it's a very unexpected
romance."

Adam/Victor
"We're going to continue to see more of the darkness that is within Adam."

Mary Jane
"She has a very dark side. She is willing to pretty much go to any length to get
what she wants.

But the complications and twists and fun in this story are going to be about
this very carefully

crafted plan of Victor's going awry."

Billy/Mac/Chloe
"He's torn between the drama of having a family with Chloe and the draw of
Mackenzie returning with

new obstacles to keep them apart."

Kevin/Jana/Amber/Daniel/Gloria/Michael
"This story is about hope because Kevin is a survivor and he continues to fight
against the effects

of this. His loved ones rally around him. Jana's headaches are about the bond
she and Kevin share,

but it's possible that there could be something more going on there than we
first thought."

Daytime Confidential Spoilers
« Thread Started on Apr 23, 2009, 4:54pm » [Quote]
Chloe: The fashionista finds out about a little secret and has a shocking
response to it.

Murphy/Katherine: Brock comes to town for his mother's wedding and he also
presides over the

affair. Nikki tries to convince Jill to attend Kay's big day but Jill is still
smarting over the

fact that the two women aren't family. Jill does admit that she misses Kay and
being around her and

doesn't think she should come to Katherine's wedding. Every time Kay and Jill
are in the same

airspace they always fight.

Meanwhile Mac and Amber continue to secure that Katherine's wedding goes off
without a hitch. Billy

debated on having Chloe come to his ex-grandmother's wedding or to leave the
ball and chain at

home. Later on, Jill heads to the GCAC and bumps into Jeffery and Gloria and
instead of having a

pregnant dog fest with them she decides put all that on the back burner and
decides to share drinks

with the duo. The citizens of Genoa City all head for Murphy and Kay's big day
including Nina

Webber. Expect to see a sweet and fun loving union with these two even though
they aren't under the

age of 30.

Jill: Totally sloshed she drops into Murphy and Kay's wedding.

Phyllis/Nick/Sharon: Looks as though big red's plan to have Sharon arrested
backfires when she's

the one in handcuffs! Before this all takes place, Nick has finally made up his
mind on which one

of the ladies he wants to be with. Just when Nick makes his choice, the police
show up at Newman

Enterprises to bust Phyllis for breaking into Sharon's room at the GCAC. Jack
swings by the police

station and Phyllis fills him in on why she's been arrested. Jack finally gets
through to Phyllis

by lettering her know that she has to stop her war against Sharon because by
going after her it

makes Nick protect Sharon even more. Phyllis realizes that if she wants to hold
onto Nick she has

to show Sharon some compassion.

Lauren visits Phyllis and lets her know that due to Sharon's arrest Noah's being
picked on at

school and Phyllis gets remorseful for the chaos she's caused. Lauren drops the
charges against

Sharon and warns her friend to let her animosity and vendetta against Sharon go.
When Sharon finds

out about Phyllis being integral of the charges being dropped against her she's
not happy at all.

In her mind, Phyllis is just trying to have Sharon not file them against her and
feels that if she

pursues it she'll look like the bad person. Sharon relents and tells Nick she'll
drop her complaint

against Phyllis if he stays out of her personal life for good. She's fed up with
Nick coming in and

out of her life making her feel that there's a chance they can reconcile. Nick
agrees because he

doesn't want Phyllis prosecuted however, deep down Nick knows that he can't keep
out of Sharon's

life.

Sharon: She has a dream... Will it be of Cassie?

Adam: Scared of the specialist that Victor brings in, Adam jams a needle filled
with Botox in his

eye... WTF?!

Ashley: The Beauty winds up in the hospital.

The Suds Report: April 24, 2009
By Nelson Branco

Is Sean Kanan joining `Y&R'? Graz re-signs! Which `DAYS' superstar turned down a
`Y&R' role? Plus:

Rafe comes out to Colleen! `AMC' mystery: Who really killed Dixie? 100,000 `GH'
fans vote in

TVGuide.ca poll! Fearless Predictions!

SUDSIEST QUOTES OF THE WEEK:
"More than ever there are things that we can do that are really simple to do. We
can do that as

people who supply entertainment. We are a powerful tool for messaging. I just
wanted to remind

people that it's very easy to keep this in your consciousness as you go through
your life."
—CBS VP Barbara Bloom regarding Earth Day on CBS this past week
Translation: Perhaps I can lend that philosophy to my career one day.

"The murderer will be revealed. You will be shocked."
—One Life head writer Ron Carlivati teases fans in Soap Opera Weekly
Translation: It's Brian Frons!

"She is a really strong woman who goes after what she wants and the men she
wants. Honey, it's

something I have been playing for awhile. [Laughs] It's so great to play these
power women. You

just love to see them go after what they want. I am certainly comfortable in my
sexuality and

that's obvious; it gets me into doing those scenes right from the get-go."
—Jamie Luner to Michael Fairman on advocate.com
Translation: Webster's Dictionary has redefined strong women as females with an
incurable case of

sex addiction and penis envy.

"The wounds are still so fresh and so deep."
—Eden Riegel (Binks, AMC) regarding Rianca's breakup and upcoming reunion in
Soap Opera Digest
Translation: And that's just from reading Chuck Pratt's Freudian interviews!

MANIC SOAP
Mike Gold announces soap tour has been postponed
It's just another sign on the times, soapers! The Soap Mania Tour has been
cancelled. If you have

purchased tickets, Gold promises fans will receive a refund. It's a shame
because Gold told The

Suds Report a Toronto leg was being added to the Soap Mania tour. I was hoping
my BFF, Barbara

Bloom would make a surprise appearance.

All My Children, A/ABC — Who really killed Dixie? Eden Riegel, sillies!
• Is Marissa Babe's twin sister? Insert head scratch here: why would head writer
Chuck Pratt create

a twin for Babe when he could have easily recast Babe last fall with an actress
who could act

instead of killing off JR's true love? Yawn. Knowing this show, Marissa was
probably born with a

penis. Too bad someone else wasn't.

• Shocker: Over pancakes sprinkled with fava beans, The Satin Slayer, Alexander
Cambias, returns

this week to reveal to a stunned Ryan that he didn't kill Dixie! So who did? Oh,
right — Megan

McTavish and Brian Frons. Not sure why this is a mystery, but whatever floats
Pratt's boat.

• This past week, Soaps Up!'s Amanda Wilson (join her new Facebook group under
Soaps Up) made me

laugh out loud when she quoted Chuck Pratt's latest poetic offering. In a recent
interview, the

untrained media scribe implied that Jamie Luner's (Liza) greatest talent is
bringing whores to

life. It's sad because I'm a big Luner fan and want this gig to work. However,
I'm afraid she's

horribly miscast as Liza. The former Savannah star should be playing Skye
Chandler or Hayley

Santos, at the very least. And while we're at it: Beth Ehlers should have been
cast as Liza instead

of Taylor McGroom Thompson. Sorry, Damon L. Jacobs (the author of self-help
book, Absolutely

Should-less): "shoulds" are a necessary evil — especially in the soap world.
All My Children,

ABC

• If you're an AMC fan, there's a silver lining, despite all your suffering: you
are able to

understand all the inside jokes when the braziliant Pratt Falls posts its latest
knee-slapping

episode. The hilarious Pratt Falls has all but secured their Soap Opera Spirit
nomination next

year.

Meanwhile, a Pratt Falls spokesperson sent Suds this message: "We have joined
forces with the

creative geniuses behind Pratt Falls to bring you Pratt Falls: The Store. Let
everyone know that `a

fan without hope is a fan without fear' with apparel and goodies featuring your
favourite moments

from this acclaimed YouTube series (Grief Sex Journal, anyone?). 100 per cent of
all proceeds go

toward The Invalidate Proposition 8 Campaign.

Check out the latest Pratt Falls episodes here, here and here.

Fearless May Sweeps Prediction: It's revealed that Bianca killed Dixie, and
Krystal goes to jail

for killing "Adam." Thanks to Liza, a sexual super-virus infects Melrose Valley.

As The World Turns, Global/CBS — Zac and "Zoe" leave Hackdale
• The scene-stealing Nicholas Galbraith, who co-starred in Broadway's Grey
Gardens, is leaving

World Turns next week. Joining him is Melinda Sullivan as Zoe. Are you still
confused whether or

not Zac is straight, bisexual, or gay? Me too. He must be completely straight if
he was allowed to

kiss another male on the show before his first contract cycle.

• Nuke fans rejoice: Looks like our favourite World Turns couple will continue
to sizzle on the

front burner. According to daytimeconfidential.com, Colonel Winston Mayer
(Daniel Hugh Kelly)

returns to ATWT at the end of June. Is this yet another plot device to redeem
Damian for his past

sins?

• WTF? Looks like Italian Stallion Paolo Seganti (Damian) is getting a new
on-screen love interest

— and it's none other than Marie Wilson (Meg)!

Fearless May Sweeps Prediction: More viewers tune out. Lily and Damian have sex!
More legacy

characters are recast. Luke and Noah begin seeing dead people. Dusty makes a sex
tape with Lisa and

Lucinda.

The Bold and the Beautiful, CTV/CBS — The poor man's Caroline returns!
• Just what Ridge needs — another love interest! This week, Hope & Faith
creator, Joanna Johnson

returns to B&B as Caroline's twin, Karen, for a few episodes. And guess what?
I'm looking forward

to seeing what kind of new energy Johnson can bring to this predictable show.
Johnson tells Digest

that B&B chief Bradley Bell asked her to stay longer but prior commitments
interfered. However,

don't be surprised if Johnson is back this summer if all goes according to plan.
Bonus: Don Diamont

(ex-Brad, Y&R) pops up on May 12 as Bill Bell, er, Bill Spencer Jr.

• Lesli Kay (Felicia) appeared on one of my favourite shows, Chelsea Lately,
when a clip aired from

her cameo on this week's Ghost Whisperer. Kay appears on the craptastic show on
April 24 as a soap

star. Also featured are Y&R's real-and-reel-life couple Thad Luckinbill (JT) and
Amelia Heinle

(Victoria).

Fearless May Sweeps Preview: Rick and Ridge finally have sex. The Forresters
send out a search

party to find Felicia and Thorne.

Days of our Lives, Global/NBC — Mason Capwell visiting Salem?
• Former Dynasty and Santa Barbara leading man Gordon Thomson has apparently
signed on with the NBC

sudser as Wes Ramsey's father, Walter, for a handful of episodes, reports
Brandon's Buzz.

• Casting notices: Digest is reporting that DAYS is currently looking to hire
performers to play

Melanie's new love interest, and the father of Mia's baby. Too bad they aren't
looking for new

writers.

• Children can play in the streets again! Next week, Rachel Melvin (Chelsea)
exits as the Swamp

Spawn. The Daytime Emmy-nominated actress reveals on her website that DAYS asked
her to extend her

stay, but she declined.

Criminal Minds, CBS • Miss Martha Madison (ex-Belle)? Don't forget to tune in
to Criminal Minds

on April 29 to check out the Spirit Award-nominated actress. In other Madison
news, Emmy winner

Eden Riegel (Binks, AMC) and her hubby Andrew Miller dined at her hot-spot
resto, Luna Park in L.A.

recently with their Imaginary Bitches film producer! Under Madison's management,
Luna Park is fast

becoming one of L.A.'s hottest destinations.
• New mama Alison Sweeney (Sami) sure knows how to write, produce and act in a
soap series. Galen

Gering (Rafe Lopez-Fitzgerald) informs Soap Opera Weekly that when The Biggest
Loser host suggested

Sami rip off Rafe's shirt when they get horizontal this week, the show nixed the
idea. The costume

department argued that should anything go wrong during taping they only had one
copy of the shirt.

Sweeney didn't care: during the scene, she ripped it off Galen, regardless.
Smart move, Ali.

Fearless May Sweeps Preview: Sami learns she's pregnant with twins again when
Sweeney announces

she's preggers… again. After Bo has a premonition that Hope and Stefano get
jiggy with it, he takes

Theo on a motorcycle road trip to New Orleans. DAYS finds its next big
super-couple when Roman

falls in love with Melanie.

Now Every Week
Daytimeconfidential.com, iTunes — Jamey Giddens happens here
• The most entertaining person in soaps returns to DC.com's must-hear podcast
this week, and he

doesn't disappoint. Click here and here for the must-hear eppys.

• In other news, there are a slew of Top 5 podcasts coming up, so keep logging
on to the website.

General Hospital, CTV/ABC — GH to GL actors: No thanks!
• Should Tom Pelphrey (ex-Jonathan, GL) be worried? Head writer Bob Guza tells
Soap Opera Digest

this week that he has no interest in stealing any of GL's on-screen talent. He
says, "GL has a

wonderful cast, but as of right now, we are focusing on the core characters we
already have in Port

Charles." Translation: we've stolen everyone we wanted already! Though I must
say, Gina Tognoni

(Dinah, GL) would make an ideal Brenda Barrett. But we all know Guza is holding
out for his one

true love, Vanessa Marcil (ex-Brenda).

• Check here and here for some funny GH spoofs.

• Here is Daytimeconfidential.com's tech wizard Luke Kerr's review of GH's new
HD format. If you

don't like the colour orange, just skip the entire show altogether — if you
haven't already, that

is.

• Wow! Liason fans have spoken. In this week's soap poll, almost 100,000 fans
voted for Jason and

Liz to tie the knot. Coming in a close second was Jason and Sam. The Nuke and
Otalia pairings

hardly even registered with 2 to 0 per cent of the vote, respectively.

Fearless May Sweeps Preview: A "dramatic" hospital explosion and a "thrilling"
hotel hostage crisis

change Port Charles forever. When Carly miscarries, yet again, she has grief sex
with Sonny, yet

again. Claudia reveals that Michael is the father of her unborn baby. Robin goes
on a killing

rampage when Patrick leaves the toilet seat up. Luke asks Ethan out on a date.

Guiding Light, Global/CBS — Lifetime announces their upfronts sans GL!
• Will Lifetime offer a lifeline to GL? That's the question everyone's asking,
but so far no one's

talking. This past week, Lifetime announced their fall upfronts, but GL was
nowhere on their

upcoming schedules. There is still hope, fans, so don't stop writing Lifetime.
When the cabler does

announce the deal, expect every single media outlet to leave out the fact that

Daytimeconfidential.com broke the story. Well, except for us. As previously
reported by DC, another

network passed on picking up GL. Since TeleNext is still promoting GL on various
websites and in

magazines, it's safe to assume TeleNext is serious about securing new real
estate. So there is

hope.

• Which GL star is persona non grata over at ABC, and the rest of the CBS soaps,
should he/she need

a paycheque once the soap goes off the air?

• It's every man's dream, but Frank's nightmare: This week, Cooper finally
learns the truth about

Otalia's secret romance! Immediately, Frank calls Brian Frons to ask: "Can I
move to Pine Valley

where lesbians like to have sex with men? And I hear they are cuter over there,
too."

Fearless May Sweeps Preview: The show finds new life on the Parks and Recreation
Network.

Imaginary Bitches, imaginarybitches.com — Winterpeg soap fan learns details of
Season 2!
• So who won a piece of web show history and a sneak preview of season two of IB
written

exclusively by Toronto's Andrew Miller? Winnipeg's own "soap bitch" Lauren
Chochinov! Congrats, and

thanks to everyone who entered our imaginary contest.

Fearless May Sweeps Preview: Catherine and Heather welcome a new bitch named
Chuck-a-lot.

One Life To Live, A/ABC — Hello, Clarice: Powell Lecter is back!
• Thanks to two-time Soap Opera Spirit Award winner Tuc Watkins (ex-David), and
Trevor St. John

(Todd) — The Suds Report didn't fast-forward through the entire show this week.
Watkins is such a

tease: now you see him, now you don't! Hey, Tuc: take your own advice and sit
down, already!

Meanwhile, Watkins had this to say at the GLAAD Awards about the recent strides
in the gay marriage

fight: "It's a beautiful, metaphorical picture that there's a bridge in the
middle of America

called Iowa that is connecting the East Coast and the West Coast in progressive
mentalities from

the centre of the country," he says. "I think it's a lesson to all of us. We
think we're so

progressive out here in California and there's still plenty of money coming in
from the Mormon

church and from the state of Utah to support something like Proposition 8 and
deny marriage

equality and then, all of a sudden out of nowhere, that little state of Iowa
stands up and says,

`We disagree. We think what is right is equality for all.'" Ditto that business.

• The rapists are all back! On April 30, Sean Moynihan returns as Powell Lord. I
always liked

Moynihan, and am happy the soap didn't recast the role. Joining the actor is
Jessica Kaye as the

new Rebecca Lewis (formerly played by Lost and 24's Reiko Aylesworth). While I'm
thrilled that head

writer Ron Carlivati has creatively spun the rapemance into the KAD serial
killer storyline, I

don't think the story resonates as powerfully without Kevin Buchanan. Also,
another gripe: I don't

understand why Zach, who just earned his get-of-jail-free card after 15 years in
Oz, would

carelessly throw away his precious freedom by kidnapping Starr and Cole for
cash? It doesn't make

sense.

Meanwhile, Soaps Up! has been offering various serial killer theories ranging
from the obvious

(Rebecca, Powell, Fish, Clay, or Bess) to the obscure (Todd's dormant multiple
personality, a

back-from-the-dead Margaret, Paul Ryan, or Evangeline).
One Life to Live, ABC
• According to The New York Daily News' Carolyn Hinsey, Nora becomes engaged to
a Buchanan! Guess

who? From the looks of it, the soap is wisely and courageously forging ahead
with a Bo/Nora/Clint

love triangle. I guess Robert S. Woods (Bo) and Hillary B. Smith (Nora) have
finally grown up. Or

want to keep working in this dying business. Ca-ching.

• How do you solve a problem named Stacy? Head writer Ron Carlivati informs Soap
Opera Digest that

the most hated character in daytime, lingerie model Stacy Morasco, will be
redeemed eventually. He

claims, "We're going to see moments of her humanity and her guilt, but she's the
kind of girl that

manages to push those down and keep her eyes on the prize — and in this case,
the prize is Rex."

Someone should alert Crystal Hunt to that fact. The reason why Stacy's
prototype, DAYS' Sami Brady

was so successful was because Alison Sweeney made viewers believe her character
loved her

obsession, Austin. Unlike Sami, Stacy acts like she doesn't even know Rex is
alive half the time.

The fact that Stacy was an overweight, awkward tween when she "fell" in love
with Rex should colour

Hunt's performance, but it doesn't. You don't get over that kind of invisibility
and low

self-esteem overnight — even with a new body and face. Heck, even Todd Manning
wouldn't threaten to

murder his own nephew for a piece of ass. Actually, strike that.

Fearless May Sweeps Prediction: In a daring storyline, Todd and "Randall James"
invite Téa to join

them for a threesome. Todd never walks the same again. Powell escapes the mental
institution with a

new a face and later romances Marty in the other story you thought One Life
would never tell.

Marcie and Michael are revealed to be the KAD serial killers! Their motive? They
were sick and

tired of not having a storyline. Meanwhile, Jack learns he's contracted SARS,
while Markko's legs

are amputated. Starr realizes she's in love with Rex. Well, at least for May
sweeps. Viewers are

shocked to learn that Roxy gave birth to Rex via Immaculate Conception. Stacy
turns out to be just

a really bad nightmare Gigi had.

Soapoperaweekly.com — Mimi Torchin's magazine celebrates 20 years!
• In honour of SPW's upcoming 20th anniversary, the magazine is asking readers
to pick their

all-time covers! First up is the oldest show in broadcast history, 72 year-old
GL. I picked the "I

Surrender" cover with Michael Zaslow (ex-Roger) and Maureen Garrett (ex-Holly).
The Blackout cover

came a close second. Hopefully, SPW will include cancelled soaps in their
inspired poll.

Fearless May Sweeps Preview: Roger Newcomb hacks into Source Link's server in an
effort to put Nuke

and Otalia on their cover as a main image every week.

The Young and the Restless, Global/CBS — Sean Kanan: Y&R-bound?
• Watch out, Daniel: According to sources, Sean Kanan will more than likely be
crossing over his

B&B character, Deacon Sharpe, to Y&R for a short-term stint. Soap Opera Digest
first Twittered that

Kanan was thisclose to returning to B&B, but both Daytimeconfidential.com and
The Suds Report have

learned that he's not re-joining his alma mater. A few months ago, the former GH
stud told

Daytimeconfidential.com's Jamey Giddens that he'd love to visit Genoa City. He
said, "I would

absolutely love to do Y&R. I loved working with Adrienne [Frantz, Amber]. She is
an amazingly

talented person. It would be great to have Amber and Deacon mixing it up again."

• Hurray! According to Soaps In Depth, Soap Opera Spirit Award winner Michael
Graziadei (Daniel)

has decided to finally re-sign with the soap for another year. The future Emmy
winner credits the

Y&R writing team for his decision to continue on in Genoa City.

• Which former male DAYS superstar was offered a role on Y&R, but turned it down
because of money?

Too bad, too, because DAYS fans would have tuned into Y&R in droves.

• A month ago, The Suds Report alerted our readers exclusively that a current
Y&R character would

be coming out. Today, it's revealed that Rafe Torres is gay as a three-dollar
bill when Lily

foolishly sets up the mysterious Latino on a blind date with former hair model
Colleen. Yani

Gellman will move to supporting actor status as Rafe's storyline develops in
upcoming months. And

no, this isn't a platform story but then again this show isn't scared of that
scary word, "label."

After all, a spade is a spade no matter how you spin it. Just stay tuned — you
won't be

disappointed.
• That's Big Love's Sandy Martin playing Jimmy at the whore bar Sharon and
Phyllis frequent. Y&R's

new casting director Camille St. Cyr is doing a fantastic job after assuming the
high-profile

position from that film reject, whatever-her-name-was. Buy Digest this week for
a great interview

with the Asian Goddess. And guess what? So far, I'm pleasantly surprised with
Clementine Ford

(Mac). But don't quote me yet.

• What came first — the actor or the character? In the best book written about
soaps, Eight Years

in Another World: The Inside Story of a Soap Opera, author Harding Lemay reveals
that he and Y&R

co-executive producer Paul Rauch were dyslexic. Well, sort of. Rauch and Lemay
tested actors and

actresses before creating actual roles. They hunted for talent first, and when
they found it, they

created a role around the actor, not the other way around. Pretty difficult and
time-consuming,

huh? But perhaps that's what casting directors should start doing since Lemay
and Rauch discovered

amazing talent that way. Personally, I'd imagine the character first, but what
do I know? Don't

answer that…

• This week, Katherine and Murphy marry. Hopefully, there's a bachelorette party
featuring a

stripper or two. Expected to attend the nuptials are Emmy winner Tricia Cast
(Nina) and Beau Kayser

(Brock). My invitation was clearly lost in the mail. Regardless, I sent the
happy couple a bottle

of blue pills as a wedding gift.

• Soaps In Depth boasts the most beautiful covers in the business, and this
week's CBS edition

doesn't disappoint. Gracing the cover is super-couple Eileen Davidson (Ash) and
Eric Braeden

(Victor) who discuss the haunting of Ashley. The magazine also boast four —
count 'em — four weeks

of previews. Make sure to buy your copy.

• Nia Peeples speaks out about her recent exit as the ill-conceived Karen in In
Depth: "About three

months after I joined the show, Lynn [Marie Latham, Y&R's former head writer]
told me she brought

Karen on too soon after Dru died." Don't feel bad, Nia — LML's entire Y&R run
was a big mistake.

Fearless May Sweeps Preview: The show hits a 4.5 in the ratings and sweeps the
Daytime Emmy Award

nominations. Nick asks Phyllis and Sharon to move in with him Big Love-style.
Victor is impressed

and wishes he had thought of that decades ago when it came to Nikki and Ashley.
In a fit of

insanity and rage, Kevin rips out Ana's tonsils costing the annoying brat her
singing voice.

Heather petitions the courts to imprison anyone who believes two plus two
doesn't equal five.

SOAP OPERA DIGEST INSIDER

April 23, 2009

Greetings From The Editor
Lynn Leahey

Dear Readers,
There are some happy moments coming up on soaps this week. AMC's Bianca
and Reese reunite, after Reese explains her past confusion and newfound
dedication to a life with Bianca. "There has been a betrayal of trust,"
acknowledges Eden Riegel (Bianca), "but ultimately she decides that for
the good of everyone, she's going to give it a try again."... Also giving
it a try are Y&R's Kay and Murphy, who are set to wed. "I love the idea of
having this story where it's not about age," smiles Jeanne Cooper (Kay).
"I love that Y&R is willing to show this with Kay." Not so in love with
idea is Jill, who gets soused pre-ceremony and decides to show up at the
wedding as the happy couple say their vows.... Love is in the air for
OLTL's Bo and Nora, who find themselves drawn together over Matthew.
"There's that moment where you go, 'Are they gonna kiss?'" teases Hillary
B. Smith (Nora). To find out whether they do, you'll have to tune in....

TALES FROM THE INTERVIEW

Stephanie Sloane: I have heard Ryan Seacrest referred to as the hardest
working man in show biz, but I may have found someone to rival him: Ross
Mathews, who recently popped into Salem again as Kate's assistant, Chris.
Mathews, who is also known as "Ross The Intern" on THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH
JAY LENO, has a blog (http://www.helloross.com), an internet show (INSIDE
DISH WITH ROSS MATHEWS) and contributes to THE INSIDER, as well as CHELSEA
LATELY. I spoke to him for a feature in the new issue and he was really so
terrific and easy to talk to. He had high praise for Alison Sweeney
(Sami), Kristian Alfonso (Hope) and Lauren Koslow (Kate) and reported that
Koslow was extra helpful on set. "I kept looking at my script and running
lines in my head and she came over and she's like, 'Honey do you want to
run lines?' So, in between rehearsal and shooting, she ran lines with me
and helped me out of the kindness of her heart. She could have been like,
'I'm going to my dressing room and I'll be back,' but she hung out on the
side and ran lines with me to be sweet." Check out what else he has to say
in the new issue.

Lauren Flynn: When I interview newcomers to ONE LIFE TO LIVE, I like to
break the ice with a little friendly hazing. Poor Farah Fath (Gigi) had to
endure this on two separate occasions: first, with a prank courtesy of her
former DAYS OF OUR LIVES castmates that Digest filmed and put up online
(http://www.soapoperadigest.com/InDigest/Fath_Video.mov), and second, with
a 13-question quiz that she didn't necessarily ace. But I'd like to think
that both brought her a bit of good luck, seeing as she's been in
front-burner storylines since her 2007 start and found love on the set
with co-star John-Paul Lavoisier (Rex). Similarly, Daphnee Duplaix
(Rachel) has just come to New York after working on an NBC soap in L.A.
(PASSIONS, where she played Valerie), she is newly single and did not do
so well on my quiz, which was admittedly difficult. "I should have been
handed a bio sheet! Then this test would be fair," she frowned. Judging
from her first few weeks on the air, I'd say Duplaix is doing just fine.
To read up on OLTL's newest cast member, check out "Eastern Promise" in
this week's Digest.

Mara Levinsky: Cornelius Smith, Jr. (Frankie, AMC) and I were so deep in
conversation over our guacamole appetizer that, perhaps 45 minutes into
our interview, we realized that we hadn't actually ordered our lunch. So
while we ended up spending a lot longer together, than we'd anticipated,
neither of us were complaining (I feel like I can say that with authority
because he e-mailed me later to say he'd had fun). I actually didn't know
quite what to expect when I met up with him that day, because he has a rep
for being a very serious guy. Still, J.R. Martinez (Brot) had insisted to
me that he's actually a cut-up. Which fella would show up for the
interview? Both, as it turned out. He's serious about his work, and
thoughtful with regards to his career, but that doesn't mean he can't kick
back and have fun -- and the longer we chatted, and the more comfortable
he became, the more that side emerged. He had me in stitches multiple
times, as when he recounted the disaster that was his first trip to New
York (for his callback audition for NYU's MFA program; thanks to public
transit delays, he showed up late, but turned it into an improv blues song
during the audition -- and he got in). I think he's perfectly cast as
Jesse and Angie's son and now that Frank has shipped off to Iraq, his
storyline is going to give him even more opportunities to strut his stuff.
I hope you enjoy getting to know him better in this week's issue.

CAMPAIGN TRAIL
You gotta love soap fans' creativity -- Digest regularly receives doodads
and goodies from readers who know how to make a statement.

Vera Hadzi-Antich: Chinese takeout, lollipops and candles -- this week's
campaigns are great! GH's Johnny and Lulu fans sent in Chinese takeout
containers filled with personalized fortune cookies. One of the messages
says, "Congrats! JoLu now are your lucky charm! But for this charm to
work, JoLu have to be back together." Johnny and Maxie supporters sent in
lollipops claiming they are "suckers for JoMax." AMC's Jake and Amanda
fans sent in a candle with the message that "Jake and Amanda are AMC's
sweet, slow burn."

The normal postcards keep coming in too, but Jack & Janet Online switched
it up a bit and made a poster highlighting the couples sweetest moments.
ATWT viewers also had messages for Tom and Margo: "My protector, my
friend, my love," and Luke and Noah fans said "Nuke keeps me watching
ATWT!"

DAYS's campaigners were rooting for Sami and EJ this week. They write,
"Brady & DiMera ? a forbidden love." Y&R's Cane and Lily fans must be so
excited that the couple are finally engaged (for the 4th time!). They are
asking for "more Cane and Lily," and it looks like that's what's headed
their way.

GH viewers would like to see the show "use [its] Emmy winners," referring
to Natalia Livingston (Rebecca) and Maurice Benard (Sonny). Kelly Monaco
(Sam) fans are letting us know that she is the "reason to watch!" Lastly,
Jason and Robin supporters sent in a long letter and CD in support of
their favorite couple.

Thanks for the fun campaigns his week!

TYPE SET

I just wanted to take a minute to express how much I am loving GUIDING
LIGHT! Last week was amazing with the Olivia and Natalia storyline. I do
feel a little bit sorry for Frank because the poor guy isn't picking up on
ANY clue, but he'll eventually get it. I enjoy the story because it
transcends gender, race and orientation. It is simply a love story and
love wins every time. A.L.N., via the Internet

IN PERSON

What an unbelievable experience! I decided to bring my 85-year-old mother,
Ida Bonaventure, who is an avid Y&R fan, for a once in a lifetime
experience to the Soap Opera Mania event. She thoroughly enjoyed it! We
had lots of great interaction with Michelle Stafford, Christian J. LeBlanc
and Don Diamont. Michael Park, Kim Zimmer, Ronn Moss and Winsor Harmon
were also on hand, as well as the director of GUIDING LIGHT. This
surpassed any and all expectations. Oh, and love your magazine! Cathy
Stanley, St. Amant, LA

To those planning to attend Soap Opera Mania on tour: The tour has been
postponed. In a message from Michael S. Gold, president of Soap Opera
Mania on tour, he says "we want every soap fan who wants to attend to be
able to attend. So rather than continue the tour where only some of you
can come, we are going to postpone our plans until everyone who wants to
come can do so." We will keep you updated!

Seen a soap star in a great live performance or had an up-close encounter
recently? Please e-mail your story to inperson@....

ASK US

Answers to your burning questions.

Q. I was watching TV the other night and saw a commercial about
cholesterol and I swear one of the doctors was the guy who was originally
Jerry Jacks on GENERAL HOSPITAL. Was that him? L.G., Sherman Oaks, CA

A. It was! Julian Stone played Jerry Jacks from April 1998 to December
1999.

INSIDER POLL

Have your say in our exclusive subscriber-only poll.

Last week, we asked: It's no secret that Farah Fath and John-Paul
Lavoisier (Gigi and Rex, OLTL) are dating in real life. In fact, in last
week's Digest we highlighted several real-life soap couples. Is off-screen
romance a distraction when you are watching a soap couple on-screen?

You said:

Yes, I pick up on the real-life chemistry between them: 17%

No, I don't let their personal life interfere with storylines: 83%

Here's this week's question:

Y&R's Nick has cheated on Phyllis twice with Sharon, who he was once
married to and also cheated on. In soaps, once someone has cheated, do
they lose all credibility as a faithful spouse?

Yes. Once a cheater ... always a cheater, but it definitely makes for an
entertaining show!

No. I always give them a second chance, but I'm not surprised if it
happens again!

THE TOP 10 PLUS

1. GENERAL HOSPITAL's most questionable inanimate object of the week:
Carly's roving pregnancy test or Johnny's Rocketeer-like leather jacket?
You be the judge!

2. Was GUIDING LIGHT's Shayne more scared that momma Reva would succumb to
the cancer or Rick "Dr. Death" Bauer?

3. Hope AS THE WORLD TURNS' Lisa fumigates the Fashions dressing room
after Henry and Vienna tried on each other in it!

4. Imagine how furious YOUNG AND RESTLESS' Phyllis would have been if
Sharon stole something worth real money, instead of a dopey monkey
figurine?

5. GH's Robin redefined "home office" by adding waiting room magazines.

6. So much for basking in the afterglow. Minutes after DAYS OF OUR LIVES'
Philip and Stephanie had sex, he was lying motionless with a bullet in his
chest.

7. The best part of BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL's Rick getting caught? Maybe now
he'll stop saying things about Steffy that would make a sailor blush!

8. GL's Dinah -- swamped by selflessness, helping everyone -- has become
Springfield's busiest "supporting" character...

9. ...speaking of GL supporting characters, did you get a load of GOSSIP
GIRL's Dorota giving D some major dish about S and L in Bosnia? You know
you love her...XOXO!

10. Go figure, the shifty wireless connection at ALL MY CHILDREN's yacht
club allowed Frankie to see Scott making a shifty connection with Randi!

WHY WE CLAPPED

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS' Greg Rikaart had to take Kevin to a very dark
place when he became lost in a delusional world. One moment, he was
cowering in fear; the next, he was physically protecting Amber. Then, just
as quickly, Rikaart was a puddle of fear again. Kevin was calm with
Michael, but a bug-eyed study in panic when the police arrived. For giving
us whiplash with his mood changes, Rikaart earned Applause, Applause kudos
for Issue 18.

NIGHTWATCH

--From Editor Michael Karol: It's always hard to say goodbye to someone
you love, and when you feel that way about a character on a TV show, it
usually means the writers and actors have done a superb job. Such was the
case when DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES' Marc Cherry pulled out all the stops to
say farewell to the complicated character of Edie Britt (Nicollette
Sheridan). Despite the bad karma reported in the media -- Cherry blamed
Edie's death on budget cuts, while Sheridan was openly critical of the
decision -- DH did everything right. It was largely a flashback episode,
showing how Edie affected all her neighbors positively in various,
occasionally life-altering, situations (getting Lynette to fight her
cancer, for example, instead of giving up)...despite Edie's notoriously
abrasive personality. Framing the episode was a trip by the other
residents of Wisteria Lane to deliver Edie's ashes to her son at college.
It was funny, dramatic, comic, sad and sentimental, but never overdone --
a rare accomplishment. So long, Edie; you were a great dame.

--From Senior Writer/Editor Joe Diliberto: One of the most disturbing
images of the entire season ambled across my TV screen in Sunday night's
episode of BREAKING BAD. Danny Trejo portrayed a drug lord nicknamed "el
Tortuga" (the Tortoise), who was cooperating with Hank's DEA office.
Tortuga tipped off the feds about a buy, but when the good guys arrived,
the bad guys were nowhere to be found. Instead, they spotted an actual
tortoise wandering the desert brush -- with the decapitated head of el
Tortuga mounted on its shell. Yeesh! That grotesque vision was enough to
give even me pause (which is saying something!). As if that wasn't sick
enough, the head was booby-trapped, and the resulting explosion took out
most of Hank's team. Tortuga claimed he earned his nickname because he
goes slow, "but I always win." Not this time, compadre.

--Speaking of moving slowly, don't try that if you want to audition for
the next cycle of THE AMAZING RACE (airing this fall). The unscripted
series will be casting in Pittsburgh on May 1, and in New York on May 8.

Prime Time Revolving Door

--David Rasche (ex-Robert Gardner, ALL MY CHILDREN) plays billionaire
Calvin Hartley on UGLY BETTY April 30.

--Pop star Hilary Duff portrays Ashlee Walker, a young mother suspected of
murdering her own baby, on the April 28 episode of LAW & ORDER: SVU. Gail
O'Grady (ex-Anne, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES; ex-Donna, NYPD BLUE) plays
Ashlee's alcoholic mother, Ruth.

THE WE IN WEEKLY

--From News Editor Mala Bhattacharjee: I couldn't help but laugh watching
AS THE WORLD TURNS' Noah and Luke be subjected to the "incestuous"
lip-locks between their kidnappers, Zac and Zoe. The most priceless part
was that their, er, twin looks of disgust didn't change much once they
learned the canoodling Zs aren't actually related. Geesh, I guess nobody
wants to see that, you know?

--From Editor Michael Karol: I hate to admit it, but lately I'm siding
with the Ryan-haters. ALL MY CHILDREN has taken one of its strongest
characters -- remember when he and Greenlee were truly hot stuff together?
-- and weakened him. Why? Grief due to Greenlee's death. But was there no
one else with whom to pair Ryan but former flame, and Greenlee's best
friend, Kendall? Ryan/Kendall/Zach is a triangle that's already annoying.
Ryan's a handsome, loving guy. When he first moved to Pine Valley, he and
Liza Colby became fast friends. Now Liza's back. And she's already slept
with Zach, so there's future emotional backlash all queued up. Get the
potential?

--From Senior Writer/Editor Joe Diliberto: When AS THE WORLD TURNS
introduced Myra, a psychic who specializes in predicting things about
unborn babies, I cringed. Then I cringed again when she distributed one
tarot card each to Vienna, Henry, Katie and Brad. I've never heard of this
technique. Vienna's Empress card and Katie's Lovers were okay. Brad,
however, got King of Cups, which Myra called the "seducer." While that
certainly fits Brad, I'm not familiar with this interpretation of that
card; I know it to indicate a nurturing provider-type. Henry got The Fool,
which is evocative of new beginnings, but I've never heard of the card
representing "hiding something." (The Seven of Swords would have been a
better choice for that.) But then Myra made it all okay by delivering the
one piece of advice that all so-called sensitives should emphasize when
she said, "Trust your instincts, Katie." Right. Never let some little
pieces of cardboard tell you what to do!

--From Managing Editor Gabrielle Winkel: Finally, and I mean finally, ONE
LIFE TO LIVE's Ray is stepping up to the proverbial plate when it comes to
trying to keep his daughter Lola in line. However, it's going to be a case
of too little, too late. Lola isn't listening to a word he's saying. His
counsel and his reprimands are going in one ear and out the other. For
example, she apologized to Langston for having ratted out Markko and
begged forgiveness. Moments later, she was at the rehab center, reaming
out Rachel for not punishing Cole and Markko for the great urine test
switch. It's just a matter of time before she manages to get Ray to
believe that she's now a good girl. We know better.

--From West Coast Editor Janet Di Lauro: DAYS OF OUR LIVES' Kate has
always been a protective mother lion, but it's time she refocused her
energy. Instead of plotting to kill Chloe for sleeping with Daniel, her
revenge should be aimed at Stefano. It's his evil family that orchestrated
the hit on Philip. In the great big scheme of things, cheating really
doesn't hold a candle to attempted murder.

--From Copy Editor Marc Wilkofsky: I know I'm in the (tiny) minority, but
I feel just a tinge of sympathy (Gasp!) for YOUNG AND RESTLESS' Nick. Yes,
the impulsive character absolutely could have stopped himself from
sleeping with Sharon (again), but he simply, clearly can't hold back his
heart's deep feelings for her, just like he can't help but adore
everything about wild, unpredictable Phyllis. His current wife feeds and
enlivens his soul. Giving up both gals for good is just not an option for
this love-addicted guy, as he must realize that his restless reputation
would likely be turn-off No. 1 for most Genoa City women. But even if he
doesn't deserve one, he has to give both Sharon and Phyllis a break.
