ATWT's Beck buys Girl Scout
cookies<http://www.centredaily.com/116/story/1185412.html>
The Troop 11 Girl Scouts from the Snow Shoe area recently held their
annual cookie campaign which netted about $500. The girls were trying to
raise $650 to send all 18 girls on a New York City trip. Of the 970 boxes
they sold, a dozen went to a special customer.

Actress Noelle Beck — Lily on AS THE WORLD TURNS — sent a $42 check
for four boxes each of Trefoils, Samoas and Thin Mints. The deal, it
seems, was too sweet to refuse. Nine-year-old Shianne Fults, of Moshannon,
made the pitch. She sent Beck an e-mail asking for help to reach New York.
The same request went to other celebrities — Miley Cyrus and Taylor
Swift, Donald Trump, Jessica Leccia from GUIDING LIGHT and Oprah Winfrey.

Only Beck responded. "Hi Shianne, I hope I'm not too late to order
cookies, and I'm looking forward to having some," Beck wrote back. Now
they are asking Beck for a photo of herself eating the cookies.

Spoilers/Rumors for Upcoming Shows

Please Note that anything marked as "RUMOR" is unconfirmed and may not occur

ball A blurb in Soap Opera Digest states that "another death will rock
B&B."
ball In an interview with TV Guide magazine, Don Diamont describes his
character of Bill Spencer Jr. as a Richard Branson-style media mogul who becomes
co-CEO of his late father's publishing empire. Spencer Publications publishes
EYE ON FASHION, the rag trade magazine that appears frequently on the show.
Diamont also hinted that his character might initially be playing against Donna.
ball In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Executive Producer/Head
Writer Bradley Bill dropped some hints about B&B:
o The tension between the Forresters and the Logans continues at
Forrester. It may look like the Logans are on top, but don't count the
Forresters out just yet.
o The show will continue its return to being about two warring fashion
houses with the re-emergence of Jackie M. While Bell still has no plans to kill
off Sally Spectra (whose portrayer, Darlene Conley, died in 2007), Jackie will
be picking up where Sally left off, albeit in a more sophisticated manner
befitting actress Lesley-Anne Down.
o Rick, Bridget, Steffy and Thomas will be on the forefront as the
next generation of characters.
o Brooke, Donna and Katie will all be driving story.
o With Jackie M back in the mix, look for more interaction between
Stephanie and Jackie.

ball Karen Spencer returns to L.A. after her father Bill dies - and soon
after, the never before seen son of Bill Spencer, Bill Spencer, Jr., arrives in
L.A.
ball Is Rocco's return to L.A. connected to the attempts on Rick's life?

DAYS Exec On GL Cancellation
Ken Corday, DAYS's executive producer, speaks to Digest exclusively about the
cancellation of GL in the next issue. Corday, who has a personal connection to
the soap — his father, Ted, was a producer in the 1950s — was upset by the news
that the LIGHT will be turned out in September. "The insight I have into the
show is kind of historic in that maybe I was 3 or 4 when dad took it from radio
to TV," he explains. "It should be remembered that the show was created by the
best soap writer ever, Irna Phillips — it was the pioneer. It's a damn shame
that this show is gone, as it's still a damn shame that ANOTHER WORLD is gone.
The flip side of it is that you cannot reinvent the wheel. Not to name names,
but in desperate times, desperate measures are sometimes the worst things to
resort to and it's clear now in hindsight and it was clear to the viewers as it
was going on what [GL became] was not soap opera." For the full interview, check
out the next issue of Digest, which includes a detailed May Sweeps preview.

Friday 24th April, 2009:

> Here are May Sweeps Scoops from SOD:
Victor/Ashley/Nikki: "Victor, Ashley and Nikki have a huge storyline which is
front and center, and it's going to revisit a lot of show history. Nikki and
Victor can never completely escape each other, but what I think is really
interesting about their relationship is we're not simply telling the same story
over and over."

Jack/Sharon/Nick/Phyllis: "We're turning the foursome upside down, but in terms
of who decides to be with whom and how this all plays out, all bets are off.
Phyllis's buttons have now been pushed and she's going to be unpredictable."

Kay/Jill: "There's the potential for fireworks, but the story is based on
emotions and the bond they share. It's going to be a fight for both of them as
to whether they continue with this relationship or not."

Weddings: "Of the weddings, I can tell you that Kay and Murphy are walking down
the aisle. We were all very interested in telling the story about finding love
late in life. The other big wedding is going to be a coming together of
characters who've known each other a very long time and are principal
characters. They've both had involvements with other people over the years, and
for them to find each other is going to be very satisfying. Again, it's a very
unexpected romance."

Adam/Victor: "We're going to continue to see more of the darkness that is within
Adam."

Mary Jane: "She has a very dark side. She is willing to pretty much go to any
length to get what she wants. But the complications and twists and fun in this
story are going to be about this very carefully crafted plan of Victor's going
awry."

Billy/Mac/Chloe: "He's torn between the drama of having a family with Chloe and
the draw of Mackenzie returning with new obstacles to keep them apart."

Kevin/Jana/Amber/Daniel/Gloria/Michael: "This story is about hope because Kevin
is a survivor and he continues to fight against the effects of this. His loved
ones rally around him. Jana's headaches are about the bond she and Kevin share,
but it's possible that there could be something more going on there than we
first thought."

SOW & SOD

http://kimzimmerfanclub.yuku.com/topic/4154

SOD (4/28/09):

May Sweeps Preview from Jill Lorie Hurst - "Jeffrey and Reva are madly in love
with their baby. The fact that Reva's cancer is under control - not quite in
remission, but heading in that direction - makes them both very happy. But life
is never simple for Reva and the Edmund situation. The presence of Josh and the
possibility that her other kids could stop in at anytime keeps her a little off
her pins."

April 22 - Billy keeps an eye on Reva.

There's an article on the aftermath of the cancellation with comments from some
of the actors. Kim says she hopes to continue to have fans stop her on the
street to tell her how much joy they got from settling in for their hour of GL.

SPW (4/28/09):

The Emmys will air August 30 at 8pm on the CW network. Nominations will be
announced May 14 in the Today's show's fourth hour which starts at 10am.

Spoilers for the week of April 20 - Colin is christened. Billy, Blake and Buzz
boost Reva's spirits.

I skimmed the preview article about Dinah and Shayne taking a trip to Bosnia.
Edmund follows them around there and Josh ends up in Bosnia too. And another
article about the cancellation, nothing from Kim in that one.

Phillip is kept inside a locked room. Alan explains to him that the governor
decided Phillip needed a full-scale evaluation. Rick tells Alan that Phillip is
mentally stable. Alan asks the doctor if he can have a moment alone with Phillip
and goes into his room. Alan intentionally provokes Phillip until Phillip
punches him. An orderly restrains Phillip. Dr. Mike informs Alan that they're
going to keep Phillip for a while.

Roc lets Josh step into the room where Edmund is kept chained to the wall. Josh
wants to make sure Edmund isn't going to hurt his family. Edmund escapes.

Dinah and Shayne are leaving for Bosnia when Shayne gets a call from Josh. Josh
is relieved that Shayne is on his way out of the country. Josh is stunned when
Jeffrey tells him that Edmund just boarded a plane to Bosnia. In Bosnia, Shayne
takes Dinah to the village where he met Lara. Dinah and Shayne walk arm in arm
through the village, but little do they know, they are being watched.

Marina tries to persuade Clarice to let go of Henry's case, then threatens to
plant drugs in Clarice's office. Clarice knows that Marina could ruin her career
by planting the drugs and can't believe Marina has resorted to this. Marina
tells her that there is nothing more important than protecting her baby.

Sister Angelica takes Dinah to meet the baby's mother. Dinah is stunned when the
nun points to Lara's grave (where Shayne is kneeling) and tells her that that's
the baby's mother. Sister Angelica explains that Lara died, but her baby lived
and Angelica raised the child herself.

Mallet and Marina are given full custody of Henry. Marina announces that she has
decided to take leave from the force to be a mom.

Frank tells Buzz that he wishes Natalia would have talked about the doubts she
had before the wedding, but he's still certain she wanted to marry him. Olivia
doesn't think that Natalia has thought through what comes after saying "I love
you" and thinks it will be pure heck for them. Olivia explains that she's not
trying to be insensitive, but Natalia has to think about Rafe, Emma, Olivia and
God, and suggests Natalia walk away. Natalia tells Olivia she knows what it
means to tell someone "I love you."

Natalia takes Olivia's hand and holds it until they hear Frank entering. At
church, Natalia gives Rafe a tearful goodbye. Natalia is startled to see Olivia
and Emma there. Natalia asks Olivia to come into the church with her. Natalia
and Olivia sit side by side and Natalia tells her it will be all right -- God
still loves them and wants them to be happy.

Christina tells Remy she lost her job. She stops by the hospital and asks for a
job, but Lillian says there aren't any openings. Christina holds baby Colin and
realizes she's really good with kids. Christina tells Remy she wants to open a
daycare center.

SNEAK PEEK: Edmund is bent on destruction.

SOD

Previews Co-Head Writer Jill Lorie Hurst, "We owe our audience some gifts!"

Reva/Jeffrey/Josh: "Jeffrey and Reva are madly in love with their baby. The fact

that direction -- makes them both very happy. But life is never simple for Reva
and the Edmund situation. The presence of Josh and the possibility that her
other kids could stop in at any time keep her a little off her pins."

Olivia/Natalia/Frank: "We have a ways to go with Natalie and Olivia. There will
be heartbreak, humor and huge challenges. As for Frank, he will be hurt and then
he'll move on. Being the hero he is, he'll help Rafe deal with shocking news.
Frank is heading toward new love with a familiar face."

Edmund/Shayne/Dinah: "Now that Edmund knows that Shayne inadvertently caused
Lara's death, all hell breaks loose. No one in Shayne's family is safe. Dinah

Mallet/Marina: "Social Services will leave Mallet and Marina alone, but their

Noah is held captive by Zac and Zoe, who sent a fake text message meant to
pacify Luke. Holden, Luke and Lily find out that Noah has been kidnapped. Margo
brings Luke, Holden and Lily aside and tells them not to pay the ransom
specified in the note since that could endanger Noah more. Luke gets a text from
"Noah" telling him he's at a storage facility. Luke goes there and falls into
Zac and Zoe's trap and is tied up with Noah. Lily and Holden return home; they
can't get in touch with Luke, but find a note that says the kidnappers have him,
too. Scared Lily wants to pay the ransom to get Luke back, but Holden and Lily
argue over how to handle the kidnapping.

Lisa proves that someone broke into Damian's room and might have taken
stationery on which to write a ransom note. Lily shows Damian the ransom note
telling her where to drop off the money -- The Cloisters. Damian shows her the
clipping he got from Lisa and explains his theory that this woman is somehow
connected to the kidnappers. Damian gets her to agree to dress as the picture of
the murdered woman, Anna Pinnarossa, and try to smoke out the kidnappers. He
wants her to make the kidnapper follow her and he'll be hiding to grab whoever
it is. Lily goes, but Holden comes to make peace with Damian and ends up
delaying him. Damian admits he's sent Lily to smoke out the kidnappers.

Lily makes the drop and Zoe retrieves it. Zac opens the package and sees it's
not money but a Pisces pendant. Zoe spots Lily dressed as her mother and
follows. But Holden, coming after Lily interrupts and Zoe realizes she's been
fooled, runs off after Luke and Noah. They see a framed photo of Zoe with her
mother. They knock the photo down and use the shards to cut themselves loose.
They are about to escape when Zac and Zoe return. Zac shoots Noah in the arm and
they get tied up again. Zoe says she wants them punished for desecrating the
memory of her mother and Zac agrees Lily needs to be eliminated because she saw
Zoe.

Dusty goes with Lucy, and Cesar shows them that there are now guns in the crates
where she's smuggling her medicine. Dusty tells Cesar to take out the guns, send
out the shipment and tell no one that Lucy knew about it. Cesar agrees. But
later, while he's on the docks, someone kills him. Lucy asks Dusty how can she
repay him, and he says all he wants is help getting Johnny back.

Jack tells Parker that Liberty wants an annulment. Janet tells Jack she doesn't
want Parker near her daughter.

Brad suggests they have a genetic test done on the baby and Katie thinks that's
a good idea. They go to ask Vienna, who says no, it's too dangerous, but Henry
says yes. Vienna wonders what Henry has done. But Henry says it's a good thing
because if they find out the baby isn't Brad's from a doctor, then Henry and
Vienna can plead ignorance. But the truth will be known -- Vienna is carrying
Henry's child, not Brad's.

and Kevin explodes on him thinking he's Tom. It starts to work when the police
show up and arrest Kevin and Amber.

Phyllis was harassing Sharon. While this is taking place, big red (Phyllis)
happens to be spying at the club trying to find out what is going on between
Nick and Sharon. When he leaves, Nick spots Phyllis and is pissed with her. When
the couple return to their house, they have a huge argument where Phyllis
trashes Sharon. Phyllis tries to fill Nick in on Sharon's relationship with
Billy but he doesn't believe her and lets Phyllis know that he needs to take
some time away from her and moves out. After this takes place, Sharon goes by
the tack house to find Noah because he never returned home. Phyllis lets Sharon
know that Nick has moved out, instead of lashing out at her Phyllis decides to
mess with Sharon's mind by telling her she needs to get some help and that her
actions are having an effect on Nick's behavior.
Meanwhile at the GCAC, Nick bumps into Jack who lets him know that Nick's
actions are causing more harm than he realizes because he's not choosing which
one he wants to be with. Jack's words make an impression with Nick and the next
day he turns back home to Phyllis. Phyllis is so glad he's back that she doesn't
mention Sharon and when the two are trying to piece their marriage together
again, a situation arises with Noah that has Nick and Sharon getting close.
Sharon better watch her back though because Phyllis plots to crush her.
Billy/Mac: Ex-wife Mac is in town because she hears that her beloved grandma is
back from the dead. Mac doesn't know that Billy's getting hitched and the former
lovers come face to face with each other and are blown away. Due to the DNA test
that Brock took with Katherine, it becomes proof positive that Jill isn't her
daughter and Billy and Mac are not related. With Mac being back in town, Billy
starts to have doubts marrying Chloe and Jack tears into Billy and tells him not
to screw up his new life with Chloe and Delia. Jack lets him know that Mac may
not harbor the same feelings he has for her. Later on after he and Chloe have
hit the sheets, he heads over to the Chancellor estate to see Mac. Mac puts
Billy on notice- she's going back to Darfur and doesn't carry the same feelings
she had for him in the past.
While this is happening, Chloe wakes up and sees that Billy's gone and heads out
to the Chancellor's with Delia. The new Abbott family return home but Billy
sneaks out yet again and heads back to visit Mac.This time Brock blocks him on
seeing her. When speaking with Esther, Chloe gets the back story on Billy and
Mac's relationship. Chloe tries to get the info from Billy himself about Mac and
he shuts her down. At week's end, Mac lets Kay and Brock know that she's going
to stay in town for good. Viewers should realize if they haven't already that
Mac has and always will be the love of Billy's life and due to them thinking
they were related he never got over it and is the reason why he's a playboy.

May Sweeps: Can't talk about it, at least not yet. Trust me I would if I could,

comes to keeping the genre alive with what's going down in May.

DAYTIME CONFIDENTIAL

The Young and the Restless Spoilers
Submitted by Jillian Bowe on April 9, 2009 - 3:28pm

Seems like lovemaking and lies are on tap for The Young and the Restless.
Tyra: She gets custody of Ana.

Cane/Lily: He pops the question to her again.

Katherine/Jill: Murphy tries to reason with Jill on not shutting Katherine out
but Jill remains stubborn about the situation. Some how Murphy gets through to
Jill but when she sees the latest Restless Style magazine, she puts those walls
back up again.

Jill comes to the conclusion that Katherine did the magazine cover as a way to
embarrass her like she was Ala Kay's memoir's. Jill rips into Kay which prompts
Katherine to tear right back into her and say she's happy that Jill isn't her
daughter. Jill turns up at Chancellor's and sees that her belongings have been
boxed up, when Katherine shows up and tries to apologize for what she said to
her earlier. Kay tries to explain to Jill that she wasn't behind her stuff being
removed but Jill doesn't believe her.

Kevin: He starts to have hallucinations of the Chipmunk and gets bullied in
jail.

Michael: When he finds out that it was Sharon who stole the books that Eden was
accused of, he ditches her as his client.

Noah/Eden: When the lovebirds head up to the Abbott cabin to give into their
passion, Eden puts the breaks on things and tells Noah she wants to wait. Next
week though, the duo seem to give it the old college try again.

Nick/Sharon: They head up to the Abbott cabin searching for Eden and Noah.
Lauren spots the teens at Crimson Lights and tries to reach Nick but isn't able
to. Later on, Nick and Sharon hit the sheets once again.

Phyllis: She goes to Nikki for guidance.

Ashely: She starts to "see Sabrina" but doesn't realize that she's being hustled
by Adam! Guess his humble facade is just that when he starts to gaslight Ashley
into thinking that she's haunted by Victor's dead wife.

Daytime Confidential

Submitted by Jillian Bowe on April 16, 2009 - 12:38pm

Revenge, realization and romance are on tap at The Young and the Restless.

Karen: The one minute Mrs. Winters leaves town.

Cane/Lily: When Cane along with Billy and Chloe go to court for a hearing, Cane
changes his mind about fighting the couple for custody of baby Delia. Cane still
wants to be a factor in the baby's life but he realizes that Delia should be
with her mom and dad. His actions prompts Lily to say yes to his marriage
proposal and the couple start to plan their nuptials. Katherine fires Cane from
Jabot but does offer him the CEO position at Chancellor Industries. Being loyal
to Jill, he declines the offer.

Murphy/Katherine: The lovebirds set a wedding date while Katherine arranges for
a memorial service for Marge. Y&R's showing viewers that you can find love later
on in life and are excited with this storyline. The duo get hitched.

Ashley: Is she being set up or is she the one behind the craziness?

Colleen: She puts the kibosh on Victor trying to throw her off the board of
directors.

Jack: He and Mary Jane hit the sheets.. So much for him still loving Sharon eh?

Phyllis/Nick/Sharon: Big red is on the warpath and Sharon is her target for the
part she played in Phyllis' marriage being crushed. Sharon tells Nick she's
going to come clean about the things she's done. Sharon wants to do right by
Noah and knows he'll find out about what she did and wants to be a good role
model for him. Nick on the other hand thinks Sharon should just ignore what she
did so that it will disappear and after much badgering she agrees. Phyllis
meanwhile, lays it on thick to Lauren and convinces her to have Sharon arrested.
Later on Sharon runs into Michael and Lauren and they confront her about Eden
taking the rap for her misdeeds. The Baldwins are pissed at what she did and
Sharon is sorry for her actions but she doesn't give up much a fight when they
attack her. Sharon just apologizes profusely. Lauren then comes to the
conclusion that she will file charges against Sharon while she (Sharon) decides
that she needs to confess to what she's done.

Sharon goes to Heather and has written up a confession to her crimes and when
she's about to give Heather the letter, Nick arrives and persuades Sharon not to
do it. Nick then has a chat with Sharon's attorney and spills all about her
current mental state. Things get a bit complicated when Nick finds out that
Lauren's the one wanting to file charges against his first love. He takes off to
see Michael and confronts Michael about it and questions if Phyllis the real one
behind Lauren's choice to have Sharon booked. A light bulb goes off in Lauren's
head and she declines to have Sharon prosecuted. Viewers also need to remember
that Sharon's case was just on her word of what she did, even though the items
in question were in her suite, Phyllis broke into her room (unproven by Nick and
Sharon) so at this point the items could have been placed there by that person.

Phyllis finds out that Sharon will not be arrested for the books, she gets
pissed and calls Victor to let him know that Sharon's behind the Koon's egg of
that Sabrina owned being swiped. Unfortunately for Phyllis, Victor has always
had a soft spot for Sharon and knows her to the point that if she stole Sharon
must be in some kind of trouble. When Victor visits with Sharon she falls apart
and tells him all about her affair with Nick. When they have a heart-to-heart
chat, that's when both Victor and Sharon realize that Phyllis set them up for
Victor to have Sharon arrested. After her chat with Victor, Sharon lets Phyllis
know that her quest to have her arrested by Victor didn't work.

The ladies get into a heated bitch fest when Nick appears before blows are
thrown and he intercedes. Being fed up with Nick's constant defense of Phyllis,
Sharon tells Nick to stay the hell out of her private affairs. Nick being
wishy-washy with both Sharon and Phyllis is hard for Sharon to take and is the
main reason why she's acting the way she is. Grudgingly Nick does what Sharon
asks of him but did she make the right choice? Sharon later on discovers the
letter she wrote Nick when she was first at the Abbott cabin months ago and
can't bring herself to get rid of it. Later on Phyllis is the one that is in
handcuffs.....

Heather: She confesses to still being in love with Adam (no shocker).

Cane tells a very bitter Jill that he quit Chancellor and Jabot. Later, Jill
goes to Ashley, determined to tell her that Victor was the one behind buying
Kay's stock from Gloria and firing Jack and Ashley from Jabot. Jill's

Cane tells Chloe that he has decided to drop the custody battle over Delia. Cane
tells Lily that he resigned from Chancellor and now is looking forward to living
a simple life, drama free. Lily makes her own pronouncement that she wants to go
back to modeling and together they will be starting over. Cane asks Lily to
marry him for the fourth time and she finally accepts.

Karen is completely betrayed when Neil asks the court to reconsider its decision
and place Ana with Tyra where she belongs. The judge awards Tyra legal
guardianship of Ana, which may have cost Neil his marriage to Karen. Neil finds

leaving.

Paul learns that Clint's autopsy proves that he died of a massive heart attack;
however, they still need to find Roger and Annie in order to get Kevin out of
the hospital. Amber reveals that they went to Canada.

he recognized her perfume. He demands to know why she came by and Heather admits
that she is still in love with him. Adam tries to do the right thing by telling
Heather to walk away from him, but she can't. Adam thanks Victor for throwing
him a party on his birthday. When Adam announces that he is planning to write
his own memoirs, Victor is furious. Colleen opens up to J.T. about how difficult
losing Brad has been for her, and J.T. starts to feel guilty about helping
Victor destroy Colleen.

Kay and Cane both hope that Kay and Jill can have a relationship, but are
painfully aware that depends solely on Jill meeting Kay halfway. Billy runs into
Cane at Jimmy's Bar. Cane calls Chloe to come pick up Billy when he becomes too
drunk to drive himself home. Cane tells Lily that he bought Jimmy's bar. While
trying to play matchmaker, Lily tries to set Colleen up with Rafe, unaware that
he is gay.

SNEAK PEEK: Sharon is pregnant.

There's more to come, but here's what we know so far about The Bold and the
Beautiful for the week of April 20…

As the Logan sisters throw Steffy a bridal shower, Ridge relishes in his payback
of Rick. Rick better watch his back, as while he taxis on a runway, Ridge runs
after the jet he's in.

We'll have to all watch and see what happens there, but in the meantime, Taylor
plays a tape for Steffy which reveals Rick gloating about his fiancée never
quitting her ride on the `Rick Train!' Will this finally be the moment Ridge and
Taylor have been waiting for?

Jackie and Owen negotiate the terms of their deal and then seal it with a kiss.
So the romp that follows is apparently just a bonus! Jackie then makes an odd
request of her new lover, but assures a confused Owen she knows what she's

FROM SOD

Previews Co-Head Writer Jill Lorie Hurst, "We owe our audience some gifts!"

Reva/Jeffrey/Josh
"Jeffrey and Reva are madly in love with their baby. The fact that Reva's cancer
is under control -- not quite in remission, but heading in that direction --
makes them both very happy. But life is never simple for Reva and the Edmund
situation. The presence of Josh and the possibility that her other kids could
stop in at any time keep her a little off her pins."

Olivia/Natalia/Frank
"We have a ways to go with Natalie and Olivia. There will be heartbreak, humor
and huge challenges. As for Frank, he will be hurt and then he'll move on. Being
the hero he is, he'll help Rafe deal with shocking news. Frank is heading toward
new love with a familiar face."

Edmund/Shayne/Dinah
"Now that Edmund knows that Shayne inadvertently caused Lara's death, all hell
breaks loose. No one in Shayne's family is safe. Dinah and Shayne are falling in
love. They will fake some changes in the near future that will test it.

Mallet/Marina
"Social Services will leave Mallet and Marina alone, but their friends and
family will cause trouble that shakes them both up and makes them question their
life choices."

Phillip/Alan/Beth
"Beth and Phillip are a classic romance. Phillip will be smacked in the face
with the fact that he really wants to work out his relationship with Alan.
Coming to terms with his father and son will be important to Phillip in the
months to come."

Bill/Lizzie
"They're engaged, registering and picking out cakes and dresses. Bill helps her
comes to terms with her family and they will have the wedding of Lizzie's

Daisy/James/Rafe
"Daisy and James are a nice distraction for each other. Daisy and Rafe will toy
with the idea of getting back together, but they are just friends."

Foley Brothers
"The truth about Grady will come out and it may surprise a lot of people. Cyrus
comes back to town in a very different place than when he left and he's
basically given up on his brother. Now he's trying to save his own life."

Update on GL Talks: What We're Hearing
« Thread Started on Apr 18, 2009, 1:02pm » [Quote]
After revealing that several sources are saying TeleNext is in talks with
Lifetime and other cablers to keep the 72-year-old, iconic sudser in production,
Daytime Confidential has deliberately held off on reporting any updates, as not
to spike fans hopes too much, or leak something that would cause talks to stall,
however since one of the mainstream soap magazines and Lifetime are both denying
that there are talks going on, we decided we can't stay silent. You guys deserve
to hear unsolicited, unbiased scoop on what our setside sources, one of whom is
the exact same mole who this past Winter revealed to Daytime Confidential's
Guiding Light blogger Melody Aikels that the soap was in danger of being
cancelled by April, are saying.

"Talks with Lifetime are still on going," says the source. "Of course Lifetime
is going to deny that. They have to. They can't talk about a multi-million
dollar deal while the parties are negotiating. There was panic among the
producers at one point, because Lifetime and TeleNext were haggling over
advertising rates, but things have improved."

The source says TeleNext was also in discussions with another major cabler,
however those talks fell through this past week.

"It's really stressful time, Ellen Wheeler actually broke down on the set when
negotiations with the other cable channel fell through," the source reveals.

Prior to these talks falling through Wheeler and Guiding Light's co-head writer
Jill Lorie Hurst were allegedly so excited they started discussing storylines
for the move and possibly searching for new studio space.

"TeleNext truly is committed to keeping this show on the air, and Ellen taks
that committment personally."

Whether or not TeleNext makes a deal with Lifetime or another cabler, we at
Daytime Confidential have a committment to you the fans of this soap opera to
tell you what we hear, as long as it has been verified by more than one source,
and this has. A source close to ABC, the same source who revealed to Daytime
Confidential news of ABC's massive paycuts—which the exact same magazine that
ran an article denying our Lifetime scoop this week, also tried to discredit,
only for Agnes Nixon herself to confirm our story days later to Advertising
Age—also says talks with Lifetime are in fact happening.

"The show is even toying with the idea of bringing back a couple of really
popular characters from the past for a possible cable move," says the mole.
"Would they be doing that if there were no hope?"

"Lifetime is having their Upfronts on April 21, the producers are crossing there
fingers they will no something by then," says another spy.

Keep checking back to Daytime Confidential for the real scoop...

'Light' Bride Doesn't Play It Straight
« Thread Started on Apr 17, 2009, 6:42am » [Quote]
Natalia runs out of her own wedding Friday on "Guiding Light," and her reason is
a first for daytime: She thinks she might be a lesbian.

"She doesn't tell Frank that's the reason," says Jessica Leccia, who plays the
bi-curious bride. "Olivia comes to her rescue and says the reason she can't go
through with it is because it's too soon after [Natalia's husband] Gus passed
away. Frank buys that - hook, line and sinker. He has absolutely no idea."

But Olivia does.

"Olivia confessed her love for Natalia right before the wedding," says Leccia of
scenes that aired this week. "That fuels the fire for Natalia to be thinking
about that while the ceremony is going on. She walks down the aisle, and the
whole family is there. She ends up scurrying away from the altar in the middle
of everything. She's the runaway bride!"

Natalia doesn't get far.

"She runs off into the 'April' blizzard," says Leccia of the scenes, which were
filmed outdoors in February during a real snowstorm. "It's very dramatic. She's
running in this big wedding dress in the snow. Olivia finds her at the gazebo."

Where she finally gets the young Catholic mother to admit her feelings.

"Natalia tells Olivia that she loves her. She says she can't go through with the
wedding because she doesn't love Frank like she loves Olivia."

Olivia is not surprised by this confession.

"They have both known without saying it for a while," says Leccia, adding that
Natalia's confession "forces them to think about what this actually means. It
gets the ball rolling. We know what Natalia says, but that doesn't mean she can
live it."

What it does mean is don't look for an "Otalia" wedding any time soon.

For one thing, Leccia goes on maternity leave in June. (The show has been hiding
her pregnancy.) More importantly, "GL" has been canceled, and filming wraps in
August, barring a last-minute reprieve from a cable network.

"I've let the show know that I'd love to come back in time for the end, if there
is an end," says Leccia.

Until then, "It's not completely out of character that Natalia is doing laundry
every day," she says of "GL's" efforts to hide her burgeoning belly. "She's just
using bigger laundry baskets."

Kim Zimmer on GL being canceled
« Thread Started on Apr 16, 2009, 9:59pm » [Quote]
'Guiding Light's' Kim Zimmer leads a parade of daytime TV stars to town

And they say there are no good parts for older actresses. Why, just last month a
menopausal Reva Shayne, while battling cancer, gave birth to a miracle baby on
CBS' daytime drama, "Guiding Light." She was wheeled off to radiation right
after the delivery.

And although the 72-year-old soap opera is on the verge of extinction -- the
network announced earlier this month its last telecast will be in September --
Reva Shayne is alive and well and playing out life as one of the show's most
unpredictable forces.

She's also one of seven daytime TV stars who'll be in New Orleans for Soap Opera
Mania on Tour, signing autographs and photographs, answering questions and
answers, even acting out scenes at the New Orleans Convention Center.

Scheduled to appear are native New Orleanian Christian LeBlanc (Michael Baldwin)
and Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Newman) of "The Young and The Restless;" Ronn
Moss (Ridge Forrester), Don Diamont (Bill Spencer) and Winsor Harmon (Thorne
Forrester) of "The Bold and The Beautiful;" and Michael Park (Jack Snyder) on
"As the World Turns."

But the most enduring star in the bunch is four-time Daytime Emmy Award-winner
Zimmer, who burst onto the "GL" soap opera screen in 1983 at the age of 27. Her
character was an Oklahoma cowgirl who would marry the Lewis father and his two
sons (not necessarily in that order and sometimes more than once).

"My mother was the Lewis' maid," says Zimmer, who is among the soap kingdom's
most-married women, with nine marriages to seven different men, most of whom
were conscious.

"I was married to Alan Spaulding while I was in a coma," says Zimmer, speaking
of the patriarchal villain of the show.

Her true love, Josh Lewis (the younger Lewis brother and the one she married
more than once), missed her so much when she died, he had her cloned.

But the current Reva Shayne on the Guiding Light is the original.

"The Reva clone committed suicide by overdosing on accelerated growth hormone at
the age of 134 in the arms of the original Reva," Zimmer says.

In her long life as Reva, Zimmer has gone from being a princess on a royal
island to living with the Amish. She has been dead, alive, a ghost, a clone,
even a time-traveler. And she is always in love.

In real life, the mother of three has been married to the same man for 35 years.

"There have been so many changes on ("Guiding Light") since 1983, and I have
been able to maintain a 'through' line to this character while adjusting to
different producers and different head writers," she says. "If it were just a
job and a paycheck, I would have left years ago."

Zimmer's contract ends in June, but fans are hoping that when the soap opera
ends in September on CBS, it will end with Reva and Josh together again.

"I don't know if we have enough time for that to happen," says Zimmer, who is in
the dark as to her soap opera future.

The actress says fans seldom blame her for any deviation of her character
determined by a script. "Whenever I felt I wasn't the Reva fans wanted me to be,
I would fight to maintain the backbone of the character," she says. "The only
thing they blame on me is the 40 pounds I've gained. But some of them get off on
the fact that we will lose this weight together."

What happens as the final days of "Guiding Light" approach is anyone's guess. If
Zimmer were writing it, she would create a celebration of past and present.

"I would like for there to be a reason all the citizens of Springfield gather,
perhaps the anniversary of the lighthouse," she says. "And the last show would
be about the characters from the past with flashbacks of their lives."

FROM SOD

"Oh my God, hold on to your seat," teases Co-Head Writer Scott Hamner. "There
will be three weddings and surprise returns from past characters that will
affect everyone on the canvas."

Victor/Ashley/Nikki
"Victor, Ashley and Nikki have a huge storyline which is front and center, and
it's going to revisit a lot of show history. Nikki and Victor can never
completely escape each other, but what I think is really interesting about their
relationship is we're not simply telling the same story over and over."

Jack/Sharon/Nick/Phyllis
"We're turning the foursome upside down, but in terms of who decides to be with
whom and how this all plays out, all bets are off. Phyllis's buttons have now
been pushed and she's going to be unpredictable."

Kay/Jill
"There's the potential for fireworks, but the story is based on emotions and the
bond they share. It's going to be a fight for both of them as to whether they
continue with this relationship or not."

Weddings
"Of the weddings, I can tell you that Kay and Murphy are walking down the aisle.
We were all very interested in telling the story about finding love late in
life. The other big wedding is going to be a coming together of characters
who've known each other a very long time and are principal characters. They've
both had involvements with other people over the years, and for them to find
each other is going to be very satisfying. Again, it's a very unexpected
romance."

Adam/Victor
"We're going to continue to see more of the darkness that is within Adam."

Mary Jane
"She has a very dark side. She is willing to pretty much go to any length to get
what she wants. But the complications and twists and fun in this story are going
to be about this very carefully crafted plan of Victor's going awry."

Billy/Mac/Chloe
"He's torn between the drama of having a family with Chloe and the draw of
Mackenzie returning with new obstacles to keep them apart."

Kevin/Jana/Amber/Daniel/Gloria/Michael
"This story is about hope because Kevin is a survivor and he continues to fight
against the effects of this. His loved ones rally around him. Jana's headaches
are about the bond she and Kevin share, but it's possible that there could be
something more going on there than we first thought."

Karen is completely betrayed when Neil asks the court to reconsider its decision

guardianship of Ana, which may have cost Neil his marriage to Karen. Neil finds
Karen at the apartment with her suitcases packed and she tells him that she is

Paul learns that Clint's autopsy proves that he died of a massive heart attack;
however, they still need to find Roger and Annie in order to get Kevin out of

he recognized her perfume.

The Suds Report: April 17, 2009
By Nelson "No Kiss Ass" Branco

Axis of Idiocy: Daytime executives embarrass themselves! Exclusive: Did Babs
Bloom know `GL' was being cancelled last year? Chuck Pratt blames Eden Riegel
for his bad writing! `GH's Carly preggers again! `Y&R's Phyllis loses it!

MOST MORONIC QUOTES OF THE WEEK:
"I was led to believe we had her for longer than we really did — suddenly I got
word that Eden is leaving now. We got to play everything we wanted to with
Bianca and Reese but not in the time we'd hoped for — in my mind, it was a
two-year story. I guess I could have rushed to the wedding earlier so that
they'd have had more time together as a married couple and then had them break
up, but I think the fans would have been even more unsatisfied with that."

Later:
"But if Tamara decided to stay, keeping her on the show as an angry lesbian —
with no other lesbian characters on the canvas — would be kind of insane. So we
thought about making Reese bisexual — kind of an Anne Heche who bounces back and
forth — and maybe make her an opportunistic black widow, a real bad girl. And
Tamara would have been really great at that. But ultimately, we decided to stick
with the message."
—AMC head writer Chuck Pratt Jr. blames an actor instead of his own faulty pen
on tvguidemagazine.com
Translation: Tired of reading the truth? Watch these three brilliant episodes:

Plus, did you know in Britain, "pratt" is defined as: "A person that chatters or
utters childishly or foolishly. British slang, derived from the word prattle.
Also, see: Idiot, uncool, disliked." The Suds Report asked the maligned head
writer if he would like to clarify or retract his quotes, but he declined — even
the offensive angry lesbian jab.

"In desperate times, desperate measures are sometimes the worst things to resort
to... what GL became was not a soap opera. It smacked of ESPN or the evening
news and done without nay homage to the creator of the show... it wasn't because
of one inept person in the last year or two; the show ran its course."
—DAYS executive producer Ken Corday offers his "expert" opinion to Soap Opera
Digest on GL's cancellation
Translation: Just like our show, Days of our Lives!

"We rarely venture into the land of sappy lovemaking outfitted with lighted
candles, chocolate strawberries, corny music and predictable choreography. I
subscribe to the philosophy that it's more powerful to leave it to the
imagination of the audience."
—ATWT executive producer Christina Goutman in Variety in a story about TV and
sexuality
Translation: Because we at World Turns have no imagination.

ANIMATED CONVERSATIONS
The Axis of Evil: Ken Corday checks in with cohorts Babs Bloom and Brian Frons
on their plot to kill soaps!
Soap fans are fighting back! Four ingenious and hilarious computer-animated
spoofs featuring the Idiots in Charge popped up on YouTube this past week, and
they simply made my year. The SNL-inspired bits take the Idiots In Charge to
task for the myriad stupid statements in the press recently by using the
brilliant xtranormal.com technology. Check out the hilarious starring Frons,
Corday and Bloom discussing their various strategies to kill the business.
TVGuide.ca printed something very similar recently in The Suds Report's
recurring feature, Imaginary Conversations. Who needs a SOAPnet version of
Saturday Night Live when technology allows anyone to be a TV producer? And we're
all much more creative, imaginative, and talented than the hacks running these
shows. Whoever created these episodes, I bow down to your brilliance and humour.
Bravo!

All My Children, A/ABC — Riegel: awards show slut! Luner landing on The View!
• Congratulations are in order for "daytime-TV's biggest troublemaker," Emmy and
Spirit Award winner Eden Sonja James Riegel (ex-Bianca), who just nabbed her
first Webby nomination for best individual performance for her groundbreaking
role as Eden on You Tube's smash hit Imaginary Bitches. The 13th Annual Webby
Awards, hosted by SNL's Seth Meyers, will be held June 8 in Nueva York. It's
nice to see the Webby's honour the brilliance of Riegel's talent, which
apparently has the unique ability to destroy storylines she didn't write.
TVGuide.ca honoured the show and Riegel early this year at the 2nd annual Soap
Opera Spirit Awards. FYI: as previously reported, Riegel returns April 24 for
just a week for a handful of episodes to help write off Rianca. No word if
Riegel will be blamed for or credited with the success or failure of this latest
storyline. Stay tuned.

• Chuck Pratt's latest soulmate, Jamie "No Kiss Ass" Luner (Liza 2.0) will be a
guest on The View sometime next week. Hopefully, someone will alert the head
writer of this show in case the hour she misses from work destroys yet another
Pratt masterpiece.

• Pratt is once again avoiding blaming himself for yet another story flop. In
this week's Soap Opera Digest, the former GH scribe promises Beth Ehlers
(Taylor) will move back to the front burner soon. "It's one of the hardest
things we're dealing with right now because, I'll be honest, it's kind of gotten
back-burner and boring." Thanks for the news flash, buddy. My FF button had no
idea.

• Casting news: Pratt confirms he's casting a ruthless DA and hopes to find a
"Justin Deas [Buzz, GL] — that kind of snide guy." The six-time Emmy winner is
about to be unemployed, Chuck, in case you haven't heard.

• In this week's Soap Opera Digest, Pratt-erella teases that a popular character
will be murdered in May. Remember those rumours TVGuide.ca reported a few months
back that AMC was thinking of killing off Adam, and keeping Stuart? Or is the
popular character's death a publicity ruse?

As The World Turns, Global/CBS — Galbraith, will you marry me?
• My new crush, Nicholas Galbraith (Zac), will be starring in The New York
Musical Theater Festival's Best of Fest, a one-night-only benefit concert, held
April 20. I hope World Turns keeps this promising newcomer. I want to see more
of him. Preferably on a well-written show, but I'll take Galbraith any way I can
get him because I bet the soap world will lose this sexy bitch to Hollywood. How
refreshing is it to see a gay character played by an actor not afraid to show
his masculine and feminine side? Nice pecs, too, by the way!

• In bad soap writing, Damian and that bore Lily join forces to find a kidnapped
Luke and Noah. Well, if they can pull themselves away from the mirror.
• In this week's Soap Opera Digest, "head writer" Jean Passanante claims she's
"playing to their strengths" in May. Question: why start now?

The Bold and the Beautiful, CTV/CBS — Owen and Jackie have sex!
• If you missed Emmy winner Martha Byrne's (ex-Lily, World Turns) debut as B&B
script writer this past Tuesday, her second episode will air May 5.

• My rival for the affections of the beautiful Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe, DAYS),
Brandon Beemer (Owen), made the cover of Soap Opera Weekly. He previews his
first major sex scene on B&B when Owen bangs super-cougar Jackie. "It gets a
little sexy; it gets a little hot," the former DAYS star teases. Always a team
player, Beemer-ella says he doesn't mind filling in the man-candy role on the
show. "That's how I want to be remembered. The guy who was always willing to
take his shirt off. Take one for the team. I gotta do what I gotta do. It's a
team effort," he says. Tell that to Steve Burton (Jason, GH), Brandon.

Meanwhile, isn't it a little bit disconcerting that the sexiest, youngest, and
most available guy on B&B has yet to have sex since his debut almost a year ago?
Oh, right — that's because Owen's not related to anyone on the soap! Only
relatives screw each other on B&B, silly me!

Also, this week: Brooke and Taylor re-ignite their feud as Ridge and his ex-wife
grow closer. Also, Steffy dumps Rick after hearing a recorded conversation
between her father and fiancé. Wonder if she can make anything out with all the
"Ricks," and "Ridges" being thrown out. I smell another Talk Soup segment on the
horizon.

Days of our Lives, Global/NBC — Deidre Hall manages to pay the bills on her own!
• More hypocrisy from Ken Corday. Don't piss off welovesoaps.com's Roger Newcomb
because he'll dig up dirt on you like no one else can — especially if you go
after his beloved GL. I pray Corday will say something disparaging about Otalia,
because Newcomb will order a hit on the lazy and untalented executive! Of course
I am kidding… or am I? Click here to read Corday's "recipe" for soap opera
success.

• My darling Deidre Hall (ex-Marlena) appeared on AirAmerica.com all this week.
Last year, Daytimeconfidential.com's Jamey Giddens suggested Hall host her own
talk show, and I agree. Glad to see she's finally testing those waters.

• Former DAYS star Lisa Rinna (ex-Billie) is posing in Playboy (check out an
exclusive interview with the former Dancing With the Stars contestant in
Tuesday's Diana's DVDs column), but thankfully there is no nudity. Whew — we
dodged a bullet there, kids.

General Hospital, CTV/ABC — Will Williams hold up production on GH?
• Stop the presses: SOAPnet.com actually had a news "scoop," recently: Billy Dee
Williams will reprise his Night Shift role, Touissant Dubois. Personally, I'd
rather see Tristan Rogers (ex-Robert) back, but what do I know?

• Here we go again: Carly informs Jax she's pregnant again. In real life, Tyler
Christopher (Nikolas) and his wife, Brienne Pedgo, announced they are expecting
a little bambino on Oct. 1.
General Hospital: NS, SOAPnet
Guiding Light, Global/CBS — Did Bloom know GL was being cancelled last year?
• It's official: Otalia will now be referred to as the best gay love story in
soap history. In Monday's Nelson Ratings, we herald Crystal Chappell (Olivia)
and Jessica Leccia's (Natalia) brilliant talents and chemistry during this past
week's spectacular episodes, which found the couple finally admitting their
feelings to each other. And, oh yeah, the magnificent writing also deserves
props as well. Knowing lesbian-phobic GLAAD, World Turns' Nuke will more than
likely beat Otalia in their best daily drama category. In related news, AMC's
Chuck Pratt will blame GL for not winning the award for his offensive Rianca
storyline next year.

For now, check out this awesome preview of the April 17th GL episode:

• Last November, The Suds Report first reported that the oldest TV show in
broadcast history was going to be cancelled in 2009. The leak originated from
CBS V-P Barbara Bloom's camp. After Suds dug around a bit more, a source claims,
"Bloom knew GL was being cancelled early last year. She blatantly lied to
everyone at GL that the show stood a chance at survival. The popular theory
around [CBS] is that the network wanted to make it look like it did everything
to save the oldest show on TV so there'd be no viewer backlash. It's also why
they sent everyone down to Orlando on what amounted to a paid vacation, brought
Grant Aleksander [Phillip] back, allowed the writers to [pen] whatever they
wanted, and happily stood there while Ellen [Wheeler] destroyed the look of the
show with her [controversial] production model. Ellen was their patsy. It was a
small price to pay, but it was all worth it in their eyes. And as we all know,
CBS didn't even wait until April 2 to cancel the show."

Daytimeconfidential.com reported a few weeks ago that TeleNext is in discussions
with Lifetime TV to acquire the series. In my opinion, Lifetime should
definitely pick up the series but run it as a weekly nighttime serial. Also, I
hope if Lifetime does buy the series, the cabler fires every single idiot in
charge of cancelling this series. Deliberate or not.

• How should GL end its 72-year run on CBS? Last week, The Suds Report printed
various suggestions from soap pundits and experts. Personally, I wouldn't mind
seeing a combination of all the proposed ideas. I'd even entertain the idea of
killing off Reva to illustrate how sad Sept. 18 will be for many fans. The
character, which is unrecognizable these days, has been destroyed anyway. Since
Reva is battling cancer for the umpteenth time, it'd be realistic for her to
die. I'd pen her an epic Evita-style death and funeral. More importantly, Reva's
shocking death would act as an organic catalyst in bringing back past faves, and
recalling GL's greatest moments. Moreover, I would demand GL be given a two-hour
timeslot on its final day so they can re-air the Irna Phillips' 70th anniversary
tribute from a few years ago. When this show last airs, Phillips should be
honoured in some way.

Imaginary Bitches, imaginarybitches.com — Last day to win an autographed DVD!
• Who says nothing is free anymore? TVGuide.ca readers can own a piece of
imaginary history when they sign on to The Suds Report Facebook page for their
chance to win an autographed DVD copy of the web hit by the cast and creator,
Andrew Miller. All readers have to do is answer this simple question: Which
university did creator Andrew Miller attend and meet his future BFF Cameron
Mathison (Ryan, AMC) at? A draw will occur today. Inside the DVD will be a
signed Season 2 teaser written by imaginary bitches Catherine and Heather. And
no, Andrew Miller doesn't blame his wife, Eden Riegel, for the angry lesbians on
his show.

Life In General, striketv.com — Karen Harris earns a Webby nod!
• GH writer Karen Harris was honoured with a '09 Webby Award nomination for best
drama: individual episode for her soap web-series, Life in General, and its
companion piece, Greenville General. Congrats, Karen!

One Life To Live, A/ABC — One Life continues its dark path — literally
• Our thoughts and prayers go out to Tuc Watkins (David) who is apparently
battling a severe case of hemorrhoids out on the left coast. I hear Brian Frons
has the perfect cure for that Tuc!

• DVR alert: One of my fave actors, Timothy Stickney, is back on April 22 as RJ
Gannon. Expect the former con man to mix it up with Todd and Téa.

• Future Emmy winner Carmen LePorto (Jack) is my new hero. He actually dared to
go head-to-knee with Emmy winner and soap giant A Martinez (Ray) this past week.
Once again, LePorto stole the scene effortlessly. Not bad considering the scene
also featured Robin Strasser (Dorian).
• Head writer Ron Carlivati reveals to Soap Opera Digest that the Hope-Chloe
baby switch will be revealed soon. "I know in the past, secrets like this can be
kept for years at a time, but I felt that it was unnecessarily cruel to the
audience, so going into May sweeps, it's really all about the build to the truth
coming out about the baby," he previews. No, what's unnecessarily cruel is
keeping Crystal Hunt (Stacy) employed on this soap, and airing a rapemance that
seemed to last forever.

• As we've stated before, Frank Valentini is the best executive producer in
daytime. Once again, One Life was so ahead of schedule, the show was dark this
past week. Good work, Frankie.

The Young and the Restless, Global/CBS — Touched by Maria Arena Bell
• What makes Emmy winner Michelle Stafford see red? " If someone calls me a
filthy whore and slaps me at the same time," she jokes to Digest this week. OK,
even I won't touch that one. In story news, fans can expect Phyllis to go crazy
this week as Sharon is arrested for her kleptomania!

• Della Reese is joining Y&R as the new Drucilla Winters! OK, I'm totally
joshing, but the Touched By An Angel star will air on May 18 and 19 as Auntie
Virginia.

• Lane fans rejoice: Cane proposes to Lily for the umpteenth time, but this time
around, she accepts. The couple will wed in a splashy wedding this May, as will
my favourite Y&R couple, Katherine and Murphy.
