THE MYSTERY DEEPENS
Another attempt has been made on Rick's life. The police make a shocking arrest,
but is it the right person?
Steffy, Rick, Brooke and Ridge
Owen is surprised when he receives a cryptic message from Bridget.
Bridget surprises Owen.
Owen tells Bridget that Rick fired him and asks her for a favor.
Rick finds himself in a volatile situation after his car is blown up.
Knocked to the ground after the explosion, Rick glares at Ridge, who looks down
with Brooke from the Sky Lounge.
After the latest attempt on his life, Rick expresses his rage against Ridge, who
he thinks is responsible, but Ridge still wonders if Rick is behind the
"attempts."
The suspects in the attempts on Rick's life point fingers at each other.
Rick stumbles upon a threatening note.
Charlie and Lt. Baker sift through suspects and forensic evidence.
Brooke asks Rick to end his relationship with Steffy in order to save his own
life, and Taylor and Ridge make the same plea to Steffy;
Donna is distressed over Pam being rehired at Forrester.
Donna fears that Marcus' resentment drove him to committing a serious crime.
Donna and Pam sling awful allegations at one another.
Ridge makes a surprising pronouncement, and Rick is reluctant to believe Ridge's
sentiment.
The police question Owen.
The Bakers come to question Pam and Stephanie after finding crochet yarn fibers
at the crime scene.
Pam and Stephanie deny Pam's involvement, but the police find lighter fluid and
explosives in Pam's cubby.
Stephanie gets a shocking surprise.
Pam's past transgressions come back to haunt her.
Pam is arrested.
Two arch enemies sarcastically apologize to one another.
Stephanie is sure the arrested suspect is innocent and tells Taylor.
Donna is agitated after an encounter with Stephanie.
Rick and Steffy have another unwelcome interruption.
Rick and Steffy have an uncomfortable run-in with Marcus.
Thorne brings Rocco Carner back from Forrester International.
Rocco meets with Thorne and Felicia, but Felicia is curious about why her
brother brought Rocco back to L.A.
New motives in Rick's case are revealed.
When Taylor calls for help, Ridge leaves Brooke alone in bed.
Taylor tells Ridge about Stephanie's theory, and Ridge joins Taylor to put their
plan into action.
Stephanie makes an uninvited visit to Rick's house to warn him and Steffy about
the danger that is looming.
COMING UP: Kidnapped by her parents, Steffy if forced to listen to Ridge's
reasoning. Taylor apologizes to Steffy for her and Ridge's decision to kidnap
her, hoping to make Steffy understand why they did it. Steffy calls Rick,
letting him know she's fine but that her parents won't change their minds about
him. Rick gets back at Ridge by reminding Brooke how much time Ridge has been
spending with Taylor, planting a seed of doubt in Brooke's mind. Stephanie
points out to Brooke that Ridge always turns to Taylor in difficult times, but
Brooke tells Stephanie that Ridge and Taylor will never reunite. Marcus doesn't
flinch when Stephanie accuses him and Donna of framing Pam. A jailed Pam
receives a visit from Donna, who tortures Pam and makes her feelings about Pam
clear. Stephanie promises Pam that she'll nail all the guilty parties.

BOLD Return
As first reported in Digest's 3/10 issue, Joanna Johnson will reprise the role
of Karen Spencer (the late Caroline's twin sister) on BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL. The
show now confirms that Johnson will return for two episodes on April 28 and 29.
Though Karen's visit to L.A. will be brief, it's expected to usher in her
before-never-mentioned brother Bill, to be played by Don Diamont (ex-Brad, Y&R),
who begins appearing in May.
Mac Attack
As first reported by TVGuide.com, Y&R has finally recast the role of Mackenzie
Browning, who was last seen in 2006. A show spokesperson confirms that Katherine
Chancellor's granddaughter will be played by THE L WORD's Clementine Ford, the
daughter of actress Cybill Shepherd. Mac will return to Genoa City on April 1.
GL's Mindy: Reunion Fever!
Dress? Check. Date? Check. Twitter updates? Check. In honor of GL's big "Four
Musketeers" 25th annual high school reunion, which begins airing on Friday,
March 6, the character of Mindy Lewis is going online with real-time status
updates via her Twitter page as she prepares for the special occasion and her
big Springfield homecoming. Be sure to check out what Mindy's feeling and

DAYS Casting News!
Wes Ramsey (ex-Sam, GL) reports to work at DAYS tomorrow in a role the show is
keeping under wraps. The actor first caught the eye of producers last year when
he came in to read at the time they were casting for Brady (which went to Eric
Martsolf) and Rafe (which went to Galen Gering).
GL Goes To Universal Studios
The cast and crew of GUIDING LIGHT is gearing up for a big on-location shoot at
Universal Studios' Islands of Adventure and CityWalk in Orlando, Florida, from
March 16-21. The episodes, which will air in mid-to-late April, will mainly
focus on Bill (Daniel Cosgrove) and Lizzie's (Marcy Rylan) love story. Other GL
cast members to appear in the episodes include Grant Aleksander (Phillip), Jeff
Branson (Shayne), Beth Chamberlin (Beth), Zack Conroy (James), Bonnie Dennison
(Daisy), Karla Mosley (Christina), Ron Raines (Alan), Lawrence Saint-Victor
(Remy), Gina Tognoni (Dinah) and Caitlin Van Zandt (Ashlee). The rest of the
cast will head down to Florida for a big Mardi Gras celebration/wrap party on
Saturday, March 21.
GL is also holding an open casting call session to cast talent for the location
shoot on Saturday, March 7 from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. The session will take place at
Universal CityWalk, in The Groove, which is at 1000 Universal Studios Plaza in
Orlando, with Murray Bartlett (Cyrus) and GL Casting Director Rob Decina.

GL Stars Set To Wed!
Real-life sweethearts and GUIDING LIGHT co-stars Rob Bogue (Mallet) and Mandy
Bruno (Marina) recently announced their engagement. The couple has been dating
for over a year and plan to marry in Spring of 2010. "Rob's the love of my
life," Bruno told Digest in the 2/17/2009 issue.
Diamont Joins B&B
TV Guide reports that the recently axed Don Diamont (ex-Brad, Y&R) has landed a
gig at B&B as Bill Spencer Jr., the son of Bill Spencer (played by Jim Storm
from 1987 to 2003). Also said to return to B&B is Joanna Johnson who played
Caroline Spencer from 1987-1990 and twin Karen Spencer from 1992-93.
ATWT Casting News!
Cady McClain is returning to the role of ATWT's Rosanna Cabot on May 20. "She is
going to have gone through a transformation," McClain tells Digest exclusively
about what's in store for Rosanna. "It's timely and relevant and I'm very
excited about that."

destroying the video of a pregnant Lara, she is anxious to get back in Shayne's
good graces. After bringing him a special reminder of his lost love, Shayne
starts thinking of Dinah in a new light. Will this lead to romance for the two?
As Phillip tries to get closer to his family, Lizzie is still determined to keep
him at arms length. But Emma wants to get to know her father all over again.
Phillip gets an unlikely ally - Natalia - to help Olivia see that he loves his
daughter and wouldn't repeat past mistakes.
Phillip owes Blake an apology for his part in Ross's death. Will Blake ever

confronts Emily for her betrayal but she goes to Casey's to let him know. She
finds Jade there and slaps her.Casey immediately tells Jade she needs to leave
but when she becomes insistent, he lets her know that their time together was
nothing more than a one time thing and that all he sees her as is a friend. When
she leaves Alison tells him everything about Emily's scheme to get Jade to break
them up. After doing some serious talking about their relationship, Casey and
Alison agree to try again. A disgusted Casey goes to Emily and tells her that if
she cares for Alison at all she will put asside her hatred and give her sister
her blessing for them to be together. Emily at first balks but then agrees.
Meanwhile Alison calls Matt and tells him that she can't be with him.
A Closer Look: Putting on the Breaks
Brad and Katie receive a call from Vienna letting them know that it is now time
for the artificial insemination. Brad and Katie meet up with Henry and Vienna at
the hospital, but while everyone else is getting excited over the procedure,
Henry starts to worry and have second thoughts. Although Katie admits she didn't
want to go through such measures to have a baby, Brad reassures her that
everything will work out for the best. Henry, who is still
hesitant,'accidentally' knocks the syringe from the doctor's hand. As the
procedure has happened Vienna tells Brad and Katie she would like to be the one
to name the baby as long as she is carrying it. While everyone is sharing their
happiness of Brad and Katie possibly becoming parents, Henry on the other hand,
is very reluctant about the whole thing.

THIS WEEK ON: THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS
Cane and Billy get into it with one another again. Sharon's questionable actions
pull not only Nick in but also puts Jack in a 'hot' situation when he comes over
to visit her. Kevin's troubles continue to pile up on him when he becomes the
number one suspect in the motel bombing on Wednesday, March 11. Adam learns that
his eyesight if failing him which prompts Heather to go to Victor with the news
and on Thursday, March 12, estranged father and son come face-to-face.
The Inside Story: Who Are You?
After the explosion at the hotel where Katherine and Esther were both held
captive, Katherine is knocked unconcious. When she comes to, she has no memory
of what has happened to her. What's even worse is that she tells Esther and
Amber that she can't remember anything in her life from the past few months.
Amber and Esther sit down with her and informs her about the car accident that
she was in with Marge, pointing out that even though it was Marge that died in
the accident, everyone believes that it was her that died in the crash. They
also give her more disturbing news that others, especially Jill, believe that
she con artist Marge, which upsets an already frazzled Katherine. Later that
day, Billy comes to visit her and is thrown when she recognizes him right away.
The two begin to talk and Billy is convinced that she is truly Katherine
Chancellor. Billy tells Jill and Jack that he believes who Katherine says she is
but Jill still insists that she is not her mother but a simple con woman. When
Esther and Amber go back to the hosptial to see Kay she lets them know that
she's not sure that she should go back to her home because it would only make
things worse between her and Jill. While there, they are informed that the
dental records are missing which prevents Katherine from being released without
proof of who she is. In an effort to get out of the hospital, she tells the
doctor, in front of Jill and Billy that she is Marge. Jill instantly gloats that
she was right and shares that fact with Nikki. The two women begin talking when
a package arrives; the emerald ring that Katherine willed to Nikki. Meanwhile
Katherine approaches Nikki and instantly remembers the emerald ring belonging to
her. Nikki is hesitant in talking to her but Katherine works hard in getting
Nikki to believe in her: or does she?
A Closer Look: Marital Ultimatums
Karen, tired of Tyra and Neil's closeness and the fact that she witnessed the
two in a kiss, decides to put her foot down. Approaching Neil, Karen tells him
that if he loves her and he wants their marriage to work he needs to fire Tyra
from Indigo. Neil, not understanding why Karen is making such a demand, gets
into an argument with her over the matter. Wanting to set things straight Karent
corners Tyra and tells her she wants her to keep her hands off her husband and
that she knows all about the kiss between the two of them. Later that night,
Neil tells Karen that he will fire Tyra effective immediately.

Y&R -- JACK AND SHARON HIT THE SHEETS -- Nick proves his commitment to Phyllis.
Michael looks for Kevin. Esther calls Jill with news about the explosion - and
passes the information along to Chloe, Billy and Daniel. When it becomes
apparent that Kevin WAS at Clint's hideout but has gone missing, Michael and
Daniel begin searching for Kevin. At the same time, Kevin's captors give him a
break and allow him to ride inside Clint's car for a while. However, Kevin is
soon forced to return to the car's trunk. Detective Gil Wallace turns up and
begins asking questions about the photo of Kevin with the bomb which has been
discovered. In spite of Esther's efforts to convince Jill that the woman rescued
from the motel explosion IS Katherine Chancellor, Jill continues to refuse to
believe anything which Esther has to say on the subject. Billy is favorably
impressed when Chloe appears to be genuinely concerned about Jill and Katherine
- and they share a tender moment. As Jana continues to worry about Kevin - she
blasts Amber and others for getting Kevin mixed up in this wild caper. Gloria
calls a reporter and claims that it was GLORIA who saved Katherine Chancellor's
life! When Murphy arrives at the hospital to see Katherine - Murphy is stunned
when he realizes that Katherine does NOT recognize him. In fact, Kay does NOT
remember most of what has gone on in her life during the past several months!
Meanwhile, in Sharon's suite at The Club, Sharon stops Nick from kissing her and
they have another serious discussion about their relationship. After Nick
apologies, he scurries away. Sharon calls Jack and admits that she is in serious
need of a friend right now. Jack rushes over to Sharon's suite. However, just as
Jack is getting amorous, Sharon mistakenly refers to him as Nick. Jack leaves.
Meanwhile, Nick returns home and gets passionate with Phyllis in the shower.
Afterward, Sharon calls Nick's cell phone and Phyllis picks up the call. Sharon
claims that she was calling Jack's number and must have dialed Nick by mistake.
When Sharon claims that she wanted to let Jack know that he left his jacket in
Sharon's bedroom, Phyllis leaps to the conclusion that Sharon was just hoping to
let Nick know that Sharon had been messing around with Jack. Phyllis lets Sharon
know that, whatever Sharon told Nick during their last encounter must have been
great - because it really built a fire under Nick!
TUESDAY, MARCH 10, 2009
Y&R -- VICTOR PROPOSES TO ASHLEY -- However, when Victor pops the question,
Victor is disappointed when Ashley says no - for the time being. Kevin is
suspected of orchestrating the bombing at Clint's hideout. Cane and Billy argue
about Katherine. Estella, Victor's head housekeeper at the Ranch, stops off to
visit Nikki and lets Nikki know about the possibility of impending nuptials -
BECAUSE of the baby news - and Estella adds her editorial opinion that it is a
travesty for Mr. Newman to be marrying again so soon after Sabrina's death! Jack
is stunned when Nick and Phyllis let him know that Ashley and Victor are
expecting another little rugrat. After the incriminating photo of Kevin IN
Clint's motel room WITH the bomb in his hand begins to become public knowledge,
more and more people begin to suspect Kevin of being the one responsible for the
bombing. Katherine is stunned when Amber and Esther explain to her that everyone
believes that she is dead. After Katherine spots Billy and is surprised that
Billy has returned from Hong Kong, Billy becomes convinced that Kay really IS
his grandmother - because Marge would NOT have known that Billy had spent so
much time in Hong Kong. Cane, however, considers the woman in the hospital to be
a fraud - and Billy and Cane head for another heated confrontation about
Katherine.
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 11, 2009
Y&R -- KATHERINE FOOLS EVERYONE -- Kevin tries to keep it together. Victor snubs
Heather's request. Katherine is surprised when Dr. Braun reveals that Kay's
dental records have gone missing - making it even more difficult for Katherine
to establish her identity! After Katherine realizes that Dr. Braun is prepared
to keep Kay 'under observation' until her true identity has been established,
Katherine decides to pretend to be Marge in a plan which Kay HOPES will
eventually PROVE her true identity. Kay believes that ONLY by claiming to be
Marge will Kay be allowed to leave the hospital and continue to be free to try
to establish her identity. Later, Jill and Nikki get together to compare notes
about the mystery woman's latest story. Nikki is surprised when Katherine's
heirloom ring is returned to her - and suspects that Victor is behind this
latest development. Kevin continues to try to deal with his life on the run with
fugitives Roger, Clint and Annie. In the meantime, Kevin has become the prime
suspect in the motel bombing. Heather makes another attempt to discuss Adam with
Victor - and gets nowhere. ELY POUGET puts in an appearance as Dr. Braun, a
psychiatrist who is looking after Katherine, on March 11. ERICA ZODTNER appears
as Reporter Kelli Cash, who is investigating Kevin's disappearance, on March 11.
PATTY WEAVER also puts in an appearance as Gina.
THURSDAY, MARCH 12, 2009
Y&R -- VICTOR'S PROMISE TO ADAM -- Victor finally stops off at the Genoa City
jail to visit Adam - and makes a promise. Adam is less than impressed by his
father's latest gesture. After Karen tangles with Tyra once again, Karen admits
that she KNOWS that Tyra kissed Neil, After ordering Tyra to stay away from
Neil, Karen suggests that the time has come for Tyra to move on. Later, Karen
insists that the time has come for Neil to tell Tyra to go looking for another
job. Neil reluctantly agrees with Karen's plan - and makes plans to give Tyra
the old heave-ho. In the hands of kidnapper Clint, Kevin begins to experience a
Stockholm Syndrome type of existence - and begins to actually sympathize with
his captors! After being threatened by his captors, Kevin robs a check-cashing
joint - then graduates to robbing banks for them.

Y&R -- KATHERINE'S EMOTIONAL REUNION WITH NIKKI -- When Katherine runs into
Nikki at The Athletic Club, Kay is positive that Nikki will recognize her and
will be able to help Kay prove her true identity at last. However, Nikki remains
convinced that Kay really IS Marge - and refuses to listen to anything which Kay
has to say. Kay begins to concentrate fully on being able to bring back memories
of Kay's relationship with Nikki which would help Kay convince Nikki that Kay
really IS Katherine Chancellor! Tyra and Neil hit the sheets. Amber discovers a
link between Kevin and the bank robbery. AJAY MEHTA appears as an ophthamologist
who examies Adam on March 13.

FRIDAY, MARCH 13, 2009 -- SUMMARY OF THE WEEK'S EVENTS
Y&R -- After Nick recommits to Phyllis, Sharon turns to Jack - but not for long.
Victor is astonished by Ashley's latest news. Victor concludes that Adam IS
losing his eyesight. Adam remains skeptical when Victor makes a promise to Adam.
Tyra feels threatened by Karen. Karen delivers an ultimatum to Neil After Clint
kidnaps Kevin, Gloria goes on the air to beg for Kevin's return - and outlines
some of the terrible things which Kevin endured when he was younger. Kevin's
kidnappers end up using Gloria's information to put pressure on Kevin - and end
up forcing Kevin to pull a robbery for them. --
Y&R -- After Ashley reveals the stunning news that she is expecting a child,
Victor proposes to her. After being kidnapped by Clint and Crew, Kevin
desperately works at trying to hold himself together after Clint begins to
torment Kevin. Kevin is faced with more than he can handle. Katherine fools the
doctors AND Jill when Kay declares that she is really Marge -- but will Kay's
plan take her one step back in proving her true identity? After realizing that
Adam IS losing his eyesight, Victor makes a promise to his estranged son. Karen
threatens Tyra and gives Neil an ultimatum. Karen suggests that the time has
come for Tyra to move on - and Karen admits to Tyra that Karen DID witness Tyra
kissing Neil. After Karen orders Tyra to stay away from Neil - Karen later tells
Neil that the time has come for Neil to choose between Karen and Tyra - and asks
Neil to tell Tyra that the time has come for Tyra to find a new job. Will Neil
give in to Karen's demands? Although Neil originally reassures Karen once again
that he DOES love her - and WILL straighten out the situation with Tyra - it is

were briefly married until they discovered that they were cousins. However,

discover that Jill is NOT her daughter after all! This would mean that Mac and
Billy are NOT blood relatives either. Actresses who have appeared as Mackenzie
include ASHLEY BASHIOUM, KELLY KRUGER and RACHEL KIMSEY.

FRIDAY, APRIL 24, 2009 -- WINTER PREVIEWS
**Y&R -- **SPECULATION -- Current speculation is that ASHLEY will discover that
she is in the family way. HOWEVER, Ashley will be disappointed when she
discovers that she is going through menopause instead. And that ADAM will learn
that he is going blind - in the same way that his mother went blind years
before. Because Victor believes that Adam IS going blind, Victor arranges for
Adam to be released from jail into Victor's custody. There are also hints that
Sharon's blackouts will lead to the development of a split-personality story for
Sharon.
Y&R -- A SPRING WEDDING is reportedly in the works - but no details have been
released yet. .
VICTOR continues to plot to make Jack pay for fabricating Victor's fraudulent
diary - and makes plans to hit Jack where it will hurt Jack the most. Jack
becomes suspicious that Victor IS plotting revenge - while Ashley sits on the
fence - committed to Victor but sympathetic toward Jack's point of view. Jack is
destined to experience a huge reversal of fortune. In the meantime, there IS a
possibility that Victor's attitude toward Adam COULD thaw!
PHYLLIS FUMES while Nick and Sharon grow closer and seem to be spending a LOT of
time together, dealing with issues concentrated on Noah. Meanwhile, Daniel and
Amber's relationship remains solid. Current speculation is that MICHAEL
GRAZIADEI, who appears as Daniel, does NOT plan to sign a new contract when his
current contract expires in MARCH of 2009. .
As SHARON'S life spirals out of control, Sharon turns to someone unexpected for
help.
KEVIN and AMBER end up on an unexpected adventure together. Which leaves DANIEL
and JANA wondering WHY.
THE ABBOTT FAMILY will remain in turmoil as they all jockey for position in the
power struggle to head up the family empire. ABBEY returns and is immediately
suspicious about Noah's relationship with Eden.
Someone from KATHERINE'S past enters the mix, causing even more complications
for Katherine. When KATHERINE makes attempts to reclaim her life - she runs into
a roadblock. JILL is convinced that Katherine is a fraud who is just attempting

Kevin Fisher is about to don a chipmunk mask and rob some banks. But this time
the handsome young wackjob, played by Greg Rikaart, isn't at fault. Blame his
new crime spree on Stockholm syndrome.
Here's the scoop: in the March 5 episode, Kevin was drugged and kidnapped by the
same band of baddies who've abducted rich lady Kay Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper).
This week, Kevin's frantic mom, Gloria (Judith Chapman), gives an interview on
the TV news in an attempt to get her son back.
"But it only adds fuel to the fire," Rikaart says. "Gloria reveals how Kevin's
father horrifically abused him as a child, and his captors use that information

them." Including armed robbery. On March 12, a masked Kevin holds up a
check-cashing joint and will soon graduate to banks.
Kevin's heart-wrenching childhood helped Rikaart win a much-deserved Emmy back
in 2005. My moles on the set tell me this hostage stuff could well bring him

Hollow victories ahead
In case you missed the 36th annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations, click here
for TVGuide.ca's analysis, reaction, and to find out why Passions is not in the
running this year. With Emmy-worthy actors like Y&R's Eric Braeden (Victor) and
Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki), and OLTL's Trevor St. John (Todd) being unfairly
and childishly snubbed by their casts, I am left with a few maddening questions.
For starters: At this point, isn't winning a 2009 Emmy a hollow victory? In the
Olympics, the best compete against the best. Not the mediocre, nor challenged.
Due to backstage politics, the best actors in daytime aren't even on the pre-nom
ballot, so how can anyone take their Emmy home this year with a straight face
and proclaim themselves the best actor in daytime? Conversely, Mickey Rourke and
Sean Penn aren't the most loved actors in their mediums, yet they were both
honoured for their outstanding work at this year's Oscars. What a concept, huh?
I want to puke.
If I were Christian Le Blanc (Michael, Y&R), who looks like he's set to take
home his third Emmy this year (due to his stand-alone Christmas episode), I'd
want to know that I won this award because I beat out the standard in the
industry, artists like St. John and Braeden. As a winner, you want to know you
beat someone fair and square — and not because you were the best out of 16
popular, semi-talented actors!
Shame on all of you!

Screw Super Soap Weekend! "SoapStock Weekend," which will benefit Love Our
Children USA, is set for April 3 and 4 at the Villa Roma Resort & Conference
Center in Sullivan County, N.Y. Several stars from the New York soaps have
graciously given their time to make "Soapstock Weekend" a star-studded weekend
for daytime-TV fans to remember.

Ratings Report: One Life's the only soap to increase this week; GL loses again!
Soap blockers Brian Frons, Babs Bloom and Ken Corday must have failed math.
The ratings are in for Feb. 23-27, 2009, and every soap lost viewers, with the
exception of One Life. Looks like viewers are voting with their remote. For One
Life's sake, it's too bad February wasn't a sweeps month because they increased
their numbers this past month. But don't cry for Llanview yet: a rep for One
Life tells The Suds-erella that March is even more exciting and action-packed
than February was, so hopefully this soap will keep increasing their numbers in
the long term. Well, as long as Brian Frons keeps his dirty hands off my soap!
Meanwhile, as GL slowly improves, their numbers have stunningly dropped over the
past two weeks. Nothing major, but with all the media hoopla surrounding Grant
Aleksander's (Phillip) return, this is further evidence that the marketing,
advertising and publicity wing of TeleNext have no clue what they're doing. I've
said it before, and I'll say it again: I highly doubt GL is going to attract new
or lapsed viewers with that production model. Just say, you're sorry, Ellen —
and return GL back to the studio, STAT!

• Zen fans are going to be meditating a lot in the next few days. Next week,
Ryan and Kendall have grief sex after identifying Greenlee's "corpse" in the
morgue. Well, that didn't take long: AMC is a disaster again.
• Poor Aidan! Reports from the set reveal AMC is thisclose to casting a new love
interest for crazy Annie.
• In story news, the Cortlandts are broke! In related news, so is ABC Daytime.
As The World Turns, Global/CBS — Cady McClain never learns her lesson
• Yikes: For months, The Suds Report heard Cady McClain was desperate to work
opposite nuCraig, Jon Lindstrom, on World Turns. So much so, that she reportedly
refused to discuss any possible roles on sister soap, GL (they wanted her as
Harley or Roxie without an audition).
Well, it all worked out (ha!): the two-time Emmy winner revealed on her website
this week that she is back as Rosanna Cabot beginning May 20. "She is going to
have gone through a transformation," McClain tells Digest exclusively. "It's
timely and relevant and I'm very excited about that." Yeah, I'll be the judge of
that, Cady. What's that saying? Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame
on me…? Good luck.
• Interesting piece of casting news: Nicholas Galbraith and Melinda Sullivan
have both been cast in the role of twins, Zac and Zoe. Rumour is Zac and Zoe
will both fall for Casey, and that Zac may later orbit Nuke's pink galaxy. The
newcomers debut on April 1. And guess what? I'll be watching.
• Our thoughts and prayers go out to Yvonne Perry (ex-Rosanna) and Colleen Zenk
Pinter (Babs), who are both battling cancer. Perry announced she had breast
cancer this past summer, while Zenk Pinter's oral cancer recently returned, but
according to friends, she's healthy once again. Pinter is expected back at work
on March 20.
• Depressed that you won't be able to witness the liquid-hot chemistry between
Martha Byrne (ex-Lily) and Paolo Seganti (Damian) when the Italian stud returns
to Oakdale this month? Well, don't fret soapers: on April 17 and 18, Byrne,
Seganti, Elizabeth Hubbard (Lucinda), and Tamara Tunie (Jesscia) are reuniting
for a reading of one-act plays for the Epic Theatre Company in New York City.
After the performance, there will be a screening of the short movie Bye, Bye,
Sally which stars Malin Akerman (Watchmen) and Seganti. Paul Leyden (ex-Simon)
wrote and directed the film.
The Bold and the Beautiful, CTV/CBS — Don Diamont's man juice hits town!
• Finally — a non-Forrester man hits L.A.! B&B chief Brad Bell is pulling an
Eileen Davidson and has absorbed sexy stud Don Diamont (ex-Brad, Y&R) as Bill
Spencer, Jr. Bill is the brother of the late Caroline Spencer Forrester.
As hinted last week, Joanna Johnson is returning to the show as Caroline's twin,
Karen. The buzz suggests that Bill could be Owen's father. I highly doubt that
because Brandon Beemer and Don Diamont are not hot enough to be father and son!
Teehee…
But let's all get our prayer beads out because you just know that B&B's
commander-in-chief will try to pair Bill and Katie together. Bell would be wise
to pair Lesli Kay (Felicia) with Diamont because their chemistry would be off
the charts. Also, it'd be a nice nod to history since Felicia's mom, Stephanie,
and Bill Sr. had a relationship years back. But that would make too much sense
on this show… Heck, Diamont would sizzle with KKL and Hunter Tylo, too! I'm a
tad scared since B&B loves to hire big names and then get rid of them minutes
later… but I have a good feeling about this.
Days of our Lives, Global/NBC — Newsflash: Mary Beth Evans dishes on firing
• As expected, Emmy winner Leann Hunley (Anna) is leaving DAYS after returning
in 2007 from a 21-year absence. Hunley reports on her website that she's already
taped her last episode. Meanwhile, Soap Opera Digest claims Wes Ramsey (ex-Sam,
GL) has been cast "in a role the show is keeping under wraps."
• Last Friday, Mary Beth Evans (ex-Kayla) was a guest on BuzzWorthy Radio and
the actress sounded remarkably upbeat despite her recent firing. She said, "My
feet have not touched the ground since I left. Life is about a thousand
reinventions and I almost feel like I'm getting more done. Being away has
actually spurred a lot of things for me. I'm sad for Patch and Kayla, but I'm
happy we had the chance to go back. It was a dream come true."
As for how Evans learned of her dismissal, she said: "They had been talking to
us a little bit about not renewing our contracts. They were paring down the
show. They weren't really leaving Salem. They would still be around, they just
wouldn't be on air. Our contract was really up in May and you're guaranteed a
certain number of days, but we had already completed that number so they didn't
have to go all the way to May. Then they said it would be March. Then they came
to us and said, `you shot your last show a week.' I laughed. I thought it was
hilarious."
Yep, that's a knee slapper, Mary Beth! Sounds like head writer Dena Higley is
getting rid of all the soapers who allegedly re-wrote her scripts.
Unfortunately, for Higley, she can't fire the main culprit.
• Poor John Callahan (Richard)! Looks like Dr. Evil is out very soon. Hey: Eva
La Rue (ex-Maria, AMC) is single again, John!
General Hospital, CTV/ABC — A younger GH ahead: Are Ward, Vaughn, Herbst and
Charleson out?
• Disturbing news from the GH front: Insiders are buzzing that ABC wants its
cast even younger than it already is. Rumour has it the show is letting Megan
Ward (Kate) go, and may force Rebecca Herbst (Lizzie) into a recurring status —
if she refuses to take pay cut. "Brian Frons doesn't think she's pretty," claims
one source, before adding, "And that's the kiss of death on this network."
In more soap dish, apparently Maurice Benard (Sonny) is not a happy camper these
days (who can blame him?). He's not the only pissed-off star! Steve Burton
(Jason) is fuming mad, as well, mainly because Frons has vetoed a Jason-Liz
pairing. Moreover, if Burton decides to check out of GH this year, Liason fans
can expect their happy ending.
Also expected to receive pink slips are Greg Vaughn (Lucky), and possibly Leslie
Charleson (Monica) "There's a bloodbath on the horizon," hints an insider. "And
it's not going to be pretty." Rick Hearst (Ric) should be worried, too.
• Love him or hate him, it looks like Nathan Parsons (Ethan) has signed a
long-term contract. Meanwhile, Constance Towers (Helena) is also returning and
is expected to be involved in the Rebecca/Emily storyline. Big surprise.
• There's no conflict of interest here: Mrs. Bob Guza, Meg Bennett, is the
latest recycled talent headed GH's way. The former Y&R and GH hair model is now
the soap's newest breakdown/script writer. Vanessa Marcil (ex-Brenda) and Kelly
Monaco (Sam), be very afraid.
• In GH's first step towards a younger Port Chuck (if you don't count Ethan
Scorpio), the soap is recasting the role of Sonny and Alexis' manipulative
daughter, Kristina. Also, on the casting roster is Michael and Dante Corinthos.
Guiding Light, Global/CBS — Otalia Happens here — sorry, Kim Zimmer!
• Promising newcomer Zack Conroy is joining the soap as a SORAS'd James
Spaulding, who is now 18. Conray played Morrisey, the boy who drugged Liberty
last summer on ATWT. Meanwhile, the beautiful Tyra Colar (Leah) is back as Jen
on March 13.
• Congrats are in order for Prada-loving Rob Bogue (Mallet) and Mandy Bruno
(Marina) who are engaged! The reel-and-real life couple are planning a spring
2010 wedding. Hopefully, they both have jobs then.
• TV Guide Canada's 2008 Sexiest Woman Alive, Emmy winner Crystal Chappell
(Olivia), was a guest on BuzzWorthy Radio last week when she revealed that she
first learned about the Otalia pairing back in January of last year. Alan Locher
has a lot of explaining to do with TV Guide's Michael Logan.
• Oh, dear: GL is attempting a major location shoot (good luck with that Ellen).
The embattled soap is heading to Universal Studios & Island of Adventure, City
Walk in Orlando, Fla. from March 16-21. The episodes, which will air in
mid-to-late April, will mainly focus on Bill and Lizzie's tortured love story.
Can't wait.
• Despite GL refuting Daytimeconfidential.com's scoop from a few months back
that promising newcomer Kane Manera (Grady) isn't leaving, the sexy Aussie is
indeed out this week after Phillip experiences a daddy moment. Does Alan Locher
actually attend his story meetings? Here's a suggestion: Why don't you just say,
"no comment" next time, Alan?
• Sorry, Otalia: Rafe is being recast. And no, EJ Bonilla won't be invited back
despite his Daytime Emmy pre-nomination. Also, don't be surprised if Mary Kay
Adams (ex-India) may be back! If that's true, I'll name April, GL month. Yeah,
right!
• Where was Harley when her brother, Coop, died? Oh, right — she's really busy
in Pine Valley.
• In story 411, Nulesbian Olivia runs into Anne Heche and Doris at a gay bar. So
far, I have to say GL is doing this story justice. I'm impressed, but not
holding my breath.
One Life To Live, A/ABC — Fillion hearts One Life!
• Missing Nathan Fillion (ex-Joey), our favourite Canadian soap stud (sorry,
Cammie)? Well, tune into Fillion's new ABC and A series Castle on March 9,
soapers! Filllion, who headlines the series, is thrilled with the critical
feedback on his new prime-time show.
Our own Denette Wilford asked the handsome and talented actor if he'd ever
return to One Life. His answer? "That was my first job, and I had a tremendous
amount of respect for daytime drama — [especially] the work that goes on. Those
people really took me in and really took care of me for three years of my life.
I'm super-grateful to them, grateful that they invited me back, and I jumped at
the chance to go back [in the summer of 2007 for Asa's death]."
Here's the big question: does he miss working opposite the divine Robin Strasser
(Dorian)? Hell, yeah! "That woman was so kind to me, you have no idea," he says
with a smile.

• Kale Browne (ex-Sam) isn't happy: Another World alum David Forsyth (ex-John)

a.k.a. Stacy Morasco? Once again, I'm beginning to fret that someone else is

choice, as well as Miles Laurence). The other popular theory is that it's either
Tess or Bess. But I doubt that.
The Young and the Restless, Global/CBS — People don't need Peeples!
• Stop the presses: Ashley is preggers with Victor's child! This week, Victor
blurts the news out despite Ashley's reservations (she may lose the baby
considering she's a woman of a certain age and she's been told by doctors that
she can't carry a baby). Regardless, Victor proposes (hello: wedding alert)! Y&R
impresario Maria Arena Bell is now busy rectifying one of Kay Alden's biggest
story disasters by having Ash give birth to Victor's spawn the old-fashioned way
and not because of some sperm machine lurking about. Maria — will you marry me?
I'll even convert to become a Republican. Honest!
• Ages ago, The Suds Report revealed that hair-model extraordinaire, Nia Peeples
(Karen) was on her way out. Recently, Peeples was a guest on Brandon's Buzz
Radio show — and the star confirmed our initial report, which everyone at CBS
denied! According to the "actress," Maria Arena Bell allegedly tried to fire her
when she took over the show. Thanks to a contractual loophole, Peeples, who was
hired by former "head writer" LML, ended up keeping her job mainly because she
was in the middle of her contract cycle.
Peeples attempts to challenge Victoria Rowell's (ex-Drucilla) legacy by assuming
that she made an impression on Kristoff St. John (Neil), as well as others in
the cast and crew, who were glad she was there, as opposed to La Rowell.
And the kicker? Peeples dared going after America's Next Top Hair Model, Eva
Marcille (Tyra), too! According to the former Fame star, Marcille couldn't nail
a scene on one take because she kept forgetting her lines!
Memo to Maria: Bring back Rowell, and let's hit a 5.0 already! It's in your
grasp. Why is the people's princess, Ave Maria, dealing with some hack named
Peeples, when she could be making the people happy by bringing back our beloved
Drucilla? Make it happen — trust me. Things will be different this time around
because a leader is in charge.

of Adrienne Frantz's (Amber) new music video:

• And the 2010 Emmy goes to… Greg Rikaart (Kevin)! According to TV Guide's
Michael Logan, Rikaart is being handed the storyline of his career. Suffering
from Stockholm syndrome, Kevin begins to sympathize with his kidnappers and
begins to expedite their criminal plans by robbing banks! Just from viewing the
stills of the storyline, I can already tell that Rikaart is on course to winning
that elusive second Emmy Award in 2010.
• Finally: we can report now that Cybil Shepherd's daughter, Clementine Ford, is
the new Mac on Y&R! Word is the top brass is very impressed with the L Word
star. Whew.
• In story news, Kay announces she's "Marge," and Adam begins to lose his
eyesight. Yes, Y&R lost some creative ground these past few weeks, but March is
going to kick your ass big time. Promise.

Boy, does it make me feel old to think GL's Four Musketeers are
celebrating their 25th high school reunion! I remember when Phillip, Beth,
Mindy and Rick were all in high school, with Mindy dating Phillip, who
fell for Beth, while Rick ... well, poor Rick was unlucky in love even
back then. Krista Tesreau is returning for the big event, reprising the
role of Mindy, and she talked to Digest about the real-life reunion that
took place on the set. She got off the elevator and Michael O'Leary (Rick)
and Grant Aleksander (Phillip -- who Krista hadn't seen in over 10 years)
were up to their old tricks. "Michael put me in a headlock," Tesreau
laughs, "then they both started teasing me endlessly. Just like they used
to!" Read all about it in your new Digest.
TALES FROM THE INTERVIEW
MARA LEVINSKY: When I arrived at the AMC studio to meet J.R. Martinez
(Brot) for our interview, he greeted me in comfy sweat pants, a bright
aqua T-shirt, huge slippers made to look like Converse sneakers, and a
wide, inviting smile. Within about 20 seconds, we were laughing and joking
-- but within about 20 minutes, I was wiping away the tears that
involuntarily spilled from my eyes as he unfolded his remarkable story to
me. It is not just the facts of what he has been through that so moved me;
it is his openness about them and the life spirit that pours out of him.
At just 25, Martinez knows more about living than many of us will learn,
well, in a lifetime. I learned a lot from our conversation; I hope you'll
be similarly inspired by his words in this week's issue.
NAOMI RABINOWITZ: Asking a star very personal questions can sometimes get
uncomfortable, especially when the questions are about her love life. That
said, it was understandable when Christel Khalil (Lily, Y&R) chose to keep
her relationship with Stephen Hensley quiet for a while. Now that they're
married, though (they tied the knot last September), she was eager to
share her good news -- and she very graciously opened up to me about her
wedding and their life together as newlyweds. "I really wasn't expecting
to get married at this time, but I met him and it was right," she said.
"Now I can't imagine it any other way." Though this was a phone interview,
I could practically see her smile as she recalled how she met and fell in
love with her now-husband. And though she's young, she realizes what makes
a marriage work. "We have great communication," she gushed. "I know I can
talk to him about anything, and he can with me." For more on Khalil's

You gotta love soap fans' creativity -- Digest regularly receives doodads
and goodies from readers who know how to make a statement. STEPHANIE
SLOANE: Gift Update, Part 4: Boy, you Steve and Kayla fans are truly
amazing! This week's haul included a bucket with candles and a
Patch-worthy bandanna and the tag line "Steve and Kayla light up our
DAYS", a box of Hershey's kisses from Gina C, with the note, "We Love,
Miss & Need Steve & Kayla back on DAYS" and in honor of Mary Beth Evans's
birthday, I received a lovely bouquet of flowers with balloons and box of
chocolates from Skorks, Lisa and Brandy with the message "Chocolates,
flowers and balloons in honor of Mary Beth Evans's birthday. Our wish this
year is to see MBE back on TV." Thank you, all, and I hope your wishes to
see Stephen Nichols and Mary Beth back come true.
VERA HADZI-ANTICH: I have more pictures of DAYS's Lucas with his shirt off
than I know what to do with! Lucas and Sami fans sent in at least 100
postcards with hunk Bryan R. Dattilo showing off his abs. The message on
the back reads that Lucas is "the only man for Sami." EJ and Nicole fans
sent in a few postcards with the message "EJ & Nicole: so many moments to
love." I have to say that the Lucas and Sami campaign definitely caught my
eye -- see the picture below!
GH campaigners had some cute messages. Liason supporters sent in postcards
written from Jason to Elizabeth and vice versa. Jason writes to Elizabeth,
"I spent all of last night looking at pictures of you, Cameron and Jake
... missing the family we could have if we were together. We've wasted
enough time." Jasam followers sent in a postcard claiming that "Dominoes
and Tequila ... [is] one of the greatest Jasam scenes of all time!"
Natalia Livingston's new character, Rebecca, has made a strong first
impression on GH viewers, who are saying "I don't want another round of
the 'fairytale.' This Emily/Rebecca fan wants Lure! (Lucky & Rebecca)."
There are some Jason supporters who are fed up with the "SuperJason"
storyline and wrote: "he knows nothing about Biotoxin ... and he has no
business in that storyline/sweeps stunt. Seriously ... cut the crap or
change his wardrobe to a blue unitard and red cape." The picture of Jason
as Superman is great! Nice touch.
AMC viewers claim "AMC will unravel without Thorsten Kaye. Sign Thorsten
to a new contract today!" And ATWT's Nuke supporters are -- of course --
still going strong with their "it's time for more airtime" campaign.

Thanks to reading Digest, I recently began watching B&B and quickly became
a big fan of Kyle Lowder [Rick]. Pairing Rick with Taylor was fun because
he helped to pull her out of a painful time in her life, and then she
broke it off with him. Phoebe scratched her way into a fatal car accident
and yes Rick justifiably worried about Ridge hurting his mother AGAIN. So
now suddenly Rick has become like some kind of demon that everyone hates,
even Pam?! I am sorry, but this is getting harder and harder to watch and
believe. It is ridiculous. I love Rick so can B&B please write something

I attended the Soap Opera Mania tour in Cleveland! What a blast! It was a
great vacation away after spending 60 hours completing my kindergarten
report cards. There was a Q&A session, two lengthy meet and greets, plus a
hilarious time with fans being able to come on stage and act out their
favorite scenes. I met James Scott (EJ, DAYS), Cameron Mathison (Ryan,
AMC), Brandon Beemer (Owen, B&B), Murray Bartlett (Cyrus, GL), John-Paul
Lavoisier (Rex, OLTL), Christian LeBlanc (Michael, Y&R), Laura Wright
(Carly, GH), Austin Peck (Brad, ATWT), and Tyler Christopher (Nikolas,
GH)!
I was chosen by James Scott randomly to act out a scene. I was put with
Tyler Christopher, and was given a Sami and EJ scene. I started the scene
off with Tyler, and then James kicked him off the stage, so I finished the
scene with James! What an amazing memory! The stars were open, sweet, and
nice enough to receive feedback about storylines from fans. The best part
of the day was how many of the stars go out their way to show their
appreciation and care to fans. Thanks to all the stars who took time out
of their busy schedules to attend the event! :)

she certainly does understand Esther's love for slick Roger and ridiculous
decision to marry him. "Poor Esther," sighs Linder. "Nobody ever pays
attention to her. And, don't forget, Roger did all the right things. He
was so sweet and cute, and he brought Esther flowers. It's funny, when I
was playing the scenes with David Leisure (Roger), I believed every word
he was saying, because as Esther I wanted to believe him. But when I was
watching the air show, later, I thought, You idiot! It's so obvious he's
lying."
WHY WE CLAPPED
THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS' Billy Miller had to show Billy's conflicted
feelings -- he was proud of his brother for stepping into a role of
responsibility, yet upset that Cane was parenting his child. Miller kept
Billy's emotions bottled up until he hit a bar and uncorked his rage to
Jack. Miller handled the difficult task of conveying that Billy longed to
act as a father, yet feared shouldering the burden. For carrying that
load, we feel he deserved Applause, Applause kudos for Issue 11.

Harvard -- and teaming up with the brilliant William Bell (yes, Massive

--From Senior Writer/Editor Joe Diliberto: Permit me to...er, wax eloquent
for a moment. Seeing all those candles surrounding David and Krystal on
ALL MY CHILDREN and Rick and Steffy on THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL this
week made me want to move to Soapland and make a killing by opening a
candle store! Think of the sales my shop would ring up just from prepping
a room for that ever-so-special "first time." Horny teenage boys are so
ultracaring these days -- willing to put in the time to shop for
color-coordinated and scented candles for their oh-so-sensitive
girlfriends. No six-pack in the backseat of Mommy's hybrid for them! I'll
even cut a deal with a tuxedo-rental place and a local florist. Receipts
need never melt down, because the hundreds of candles that fill soap
households are always left burning. Rich folks can afford to send the
servants out to restock daily, so supplies never...er, taper off.

--From News Editor Mala Bhattacharjee: Speaking of all those candles on
B&B, why did the arsonist even bother to douse the beach house porch with
lighter fluid? He or she could've just gone into Rick's bedroom and
knocked over one of the countless tapers that illuminated Rick and
Steffy's oh-so-passionate encounter. And let's not forget AS THE WORLD
TURNS' Parker and Liberty getting frisky while the kitchen caught fire.

--From Editor Michael Karol: ALL MY CHILDREN's Krystal is acting crazy.
Talking to Angie at the hospital after the Go Red Ball, during which David
proposed to her, Krystal expressed some doubt, lamenting her ill-fated
romance with Tad. Angie set her straight: "You didn't lose Tad, Krystal --
you threw him away." As Krystal went on about David, Angie firmly pointed
out, "He's using you, Krystal." Krystal's response: "He loves me. He asked
me to marry him." Even when she finally shows some backbone and tells
David, "There's just a lot of secrecy going on and I don't know what to
make of it," she totally buys his response: "I am not being secretive on
purpose, and I am certainly not hiding anything from you. You have to
remember -- I've spent the better part of my life alone. I'm not used to
answering to someone.... I love you and I'll always take care of you." Um,
not. When Angie spoke to Jake about it, he succinctly described David's
behavior: "That's what he does. He's the Prince of Darkness." Take notes,
Krystal, before you end up with a one-way ticket to hell.

already -- sniff, sniff -- but I understand he has other jobs, other
responsibilities. Thank goodness he'll be back soon. I do love Blair and
John together. They really have "an adult relationship," as Kassie DePaiva
(Blair) has often told me. DePaiva plays Blair's insecurities perfectly.
She pushes him away because breaking up with him sooner is better than
later, when she'll be more invested in the relationship. Of course, John
(Michael Easton) refuses to let her go and always goes after her, grabs
her and throws her on a bed. I won't continue with what follows, but I
assume you get my drift. Remember, Blair, your mantra is: "Todd who?"

them for 7 soaps every Sunday night or Monday morning, so I do them as quickly
as possible! If you don't like the format or think there is too much repetition
- I'm sorry, but that's too bad. You can feel free to unsubscribe! Or volunteer
to gather them for us and you can edit all you'd like!!
