The Young and the Restless Video Preview: Will Victor Shoot Nikki?!

viewers know, Victor's head injury and epilepsy condition have led to
lots of mood swings and strange behavior. Next Tuesday, Sept. 12,
Victor (Eric Braeden) has an extreme episode of paranoia that prompts
him to pull a gun on his own beloved wife, Nikki (Melody Thomas
Scott).

The scary encounter underscores for Nikki and the rest of the Newman
family that everything is definitely not "fine" now that Victor's
back home in Genoa City and taking medication. Click here to watch a
spine-chilling video preview.

Just a side note about Nikki: This poor woman never seems to go more
than a few months without being held at gunpoint for some reason or
another! What's up with that? I'm just saying.


The Young and the Restless: This Lady's Leaving

Control" moment, suds fans.

True: The Young and the Restless will be letting go of Marisa
Ramirez, an ex-General Hospital starlet who recently joined the CBS
sudser as crisis PR expert Carmen Mesta.

False: Despite what you may have read elsewhere, Y&R is not replacing
Ramirez - who turns 29 this month - because they feel she's too young
to work well in the brewing Dru/Neil/Carmen triangle.

"I saw that on the Internet. It's so inaccurate and I don't know
where it came from," Y&R's head writer and executive producer, Lynn
Marie Latham, tells TVGuide.com. "Carmen is not going to be recast.
We have a lovely story in the works for Carmen. I think the actress
is a marvelous actress. But I don't want to say anything more that
would cause the audience to not enjoy the story as much as they would
otherwise."


No, Really, Ronn Moss Isn't Quitting B&B
Whenever Ronn Moss (Ridge, The Bold and the Beautiful) goes on tour
to promote his Uncovered album, suds fans start fretting that he'll
quit his soap job to rock out on full-time basis. Chill, OK?

"I think I'd miss all of my castmates too much - I really do," Moss
tells CBS Soaps In Depth. "As long as I can continue to do my music
and some outside projects, it helps to bolster my feeling of wanting
to [remain with the show]. It all works hand-in-hand, and I'm
thankful for that. Very thankful."

This is basically what he told me in our Soaps Q&A last December, but
it's so nice to be reassured, isn't it?

FYI, Moss took time off from B&B in late August and early September
to tour in Australia. As a result, his Ridge character leaves the
canvas for three weeks, starting on Monday, Sept. 11, when Ridge and
Donna (Jennifer Gareis) head off on an overseas publicity tour for
the "Brooke's Bedroom" underwear line. The ravishing Donna won't be
off-screen during that entire time, though; she'll still pop in to
make occasional reports to her big sis, Brooke (Katherine Kelly
Lang).

Guiding Light Turns 15,000. Watch Video!
I'm quite the Sentimental Sally, so I will most definitely be
watching when Guiding Light celebrates 15,000 episodes on Thursday,
Sept. 7. It's an unprecedented milestone for TV's oldest serial drama.

Video Preview: GL marks the occasion tomorrow with a colorful fantasy
episode. Basically, an unconscious Reva (Kim Zimmer) dreams of
a "Bizarro Springfield" where the townies trade places. The
Spauldings run the local greasy spoon, the Coopers are

» Hector interrupts a private moment between Taylor and Thorne, and
later Stephanie and Hector face off over their respective intentions
where Taylor is concerned. Hector isn't going to be Taylor and
Thorne's only problem, though -- Shane, the mysterious man involved
in the accident, has his eye on Phoebe, Thorne and Taylor, and is
plotting to bring Taylor and Phoebe down. Taylor and Thorne take
their new relationship one step higher, and with Sally and Clarke's
help, they plan a birthday party for Darla for Alexandria's sake.
Hector avows his love to the shrink while Shane takes the time to
practice the blackmail speech he is going to use.

» Bridget tries to accept Nick's decision to work on his marriage
with Brooke rather than share a future with her. While Nick continues
to hide his one-night-stand with his daughter-in-law from his wife,
Bridget decides she cannot continue to lie to her mother and comes
clean about her feelings for Nick. Despite her own desire for Nick,
Bridget doesn't want to come between he and her mother.

Last week he had papers drawn up, this week Jack rethinks his
actions. Why the second thoughts? Does this mean he doesn't want the
divorce and is ready to reconcile with Carly? You'll have to watch to
find out, but it looks like Carly...
...has some help on her end in dealing with the possible end of her
marriage. Who's there to get her over her devastation? You know the
answer to this one, but what does Simon do? All we know is he urges
her to get drunk. Why does he think this will help? Furthermore, will
it and will anything interesting happen between the two if she takes
his advice?

Elsewhere, Lucy agrees with Barbara. Wow, someone actually sides with
the manipulative Barbara Ryan? Apparently so, but what issue does she
think Babs is right on? Does it have anything to do with Dusty and
Johnny?

At the same time, Will doesn't believe Jade's story. We all know she
can't exactly be trusted, but what does he doubt her on this time?
What does she tell him and will she be able to get Will to come
around?

After all that's happened recently, Maddie slips into a deep
depression. That's certainly understandable, but will the troubled
teen be able to find a way out of it? Can she get the help see needs
in order to process all of the horrors she's experienced? Tune in as

Victor's condition takes a hazardous turn, placing everyone he cares
for, including himself, in jeopardy. Dru's anger reaches the boiling
point, and lashes out about Carmen in an explosive way. Jack's ideas
for Jabot may be thrawrted by Michael and Kay, who work together to
stop him.

TWO'S COMPANY, THREE'S A CROWD
Jack and Sharon are drawn closer to each other, as their relationship
reaches a deeper level. Ashley and Jill better watch out, because
Gloria has set her eyes on the dashing Will Bardwell, and will stop

Monday Previews

Victor and Nikki are dressed and getting ready to leave for the NVP
opening. Nikki thanks Victor for making her dreams come true and sees
flowers on the table. She thanks him, but he says they aren't from
him - they're from Jack!

Phyllis also receives flowers believing Nick sent them, but he says
he didn't. She reads the card - it's from Jack. Nick gets irritated
saying Jack sends flowers to Phyllis the day after he's caught
kissing Sharon - how smooth.

Jack personally arrives to give Sharon her flowers. She asks how he
likes her dress and puts the flowers in a vase. Nikki and Victor come
in surprised to see Jack there. Sharon says Jack is escorting her to
the gala which Nikki thinks is a good idea. Nikki talks about all the
hard work paying off tonight and Victor jumps to assumptions and
snaps at her. Nikki tries her best to reassure him, but he continues
yelling. As Jack tries to calm him down Nikki notices the flowers
Sharon received which Sharon says Jack gave her. They all leave for
the gala while Nikki seems suspicious of Jack.
Everyone arrives at the gala. Nick and Phyllis are handing out gift
bags as Brad and Victoria walk in. They chat for a while and
photographers are taking photos. Later, Nick compliments Sharon
saying she looks good. She thanks him and he asks how Noah's first
day of school went. Sharon says Noah said it was fine, but knows he's
having trouble dealing with everything. Nick understands. A
photographer comes and asks to take a photo of the two of them
together. Nick says sure, but both look uncomfortable. Carmen
interrupts saying she needs Sharon for some press photos.
Sharon and Carmen come back and asks Sharon about coming to the gala
with Jack. She says she's known Jack for a long time. Brad asks why
she came with him tonight. Sharon says he has his life and she has
her own and it's time she moved on. Paul interrupts and Sharon
leaves. Later, Brad tells Victoria his mother is missing! Paul told
Brad that she never arrived at her destination. Victoria says she
probably changed her plans, but Brad says she always checks in with
him.
Gloria arrives much to the dismay of Jack and Ashley who can't wait
to see her crash and burn. Phyllis is chatting with the guests when
Carmen comes by and needs her for the media. Nikki expresses her
concern about Victor to Katherine and tries to reassure her that
Victor is on medication and she should be enjoying her night. Victor
congratulates Jack on the success of the gala and asks how many more
retreats he's planning on opening. Neil compliments Carmen on how
lovely she looks and she asks if he's thought more about the club. He
has.
Nick questions Jack about becoming an honorary member of Newman. Jack
asks what he's talking about. Nick points out Jack working for NVP,
becoming friends with his father and now escorting his ex to the gala
Brad and Victoria are talking about Rebecca when Victor comes over.
Victoria says they were talking about business. Victor doesn't buy it
and warns Brad he will find out what he's hiding. Victoria tries to
shield Brad but Victor warns her and storms off.
Gloria compliments Phyllis and apologizes Michael couldn't make it.
Gloria says pregnancy suits Phyllis as she's looking great. Phyllis
says she's getting married and when Jack overhears he's shocked!
Dru seems drunk while talking to a reporter and posing for pictures.
Brad tells Victoria about Victor warning him before and wondering
what's going on. Nikki and Victor look on and Nikki begs Victor to
put things in perspective. Neil talks to Dru about bringing a date.
She begs off to tell Sharon that Phyllis is being a real witch going
around telling people she's getting married to Nick. Angry, Sharon
says it's pathetic as Phyllis comes over to say hello, but neither
Dru nor Sharon will talk to her.
Jack tells Ashley that Phyllis is not only having a child, she's
getting married and he feels bad for Sharon. Sharon gives a speech
and looks like she's going to fall apart but pulls herself together
and introduces Jack who introduces Victor. While Victor is speaking
he sees everyone laughing at him, but it's all in his imagination. He
stops and asks Nikki and Phyllis to speak instead leaving everyone
wondering.
As Dru and Edward speak, Neil looks on and doesn't seem to like the
closeness between them. Sharon is drinking a glass of champagne when
Nick comes over to say she did well with her speech. She asks what
were he and Phyllis thinking? Nick doesn't know what she's talking
about. She says it was a huge night for NVP and Nick and Phyllis
ruined it by not holding off announcing their engagement.
Ashley, Will, Jack and Sharon are talking as Victor walks by. Ashley
congratulates him but he just keeps on walking leaving all wondering.
He tells Nikki he wants to go home, that this is her night, and she
should enjoy it. Sharon is alone again as Brad comes over to praise
her speech as Victoria looks on. Gloria seeks Kevin's help in keeping
Jill busy as she wants to speak to Will alone.
At home, Victor hears voices again whispering his name. He asks who's
there and screams - get out!
Sharon tells Jack she's going to take a cab and go home. He offers to
drop her, but she says this is his party and he should stay. Jack
insists so they leave as Victoria notices Brad's reaction to seeing
Jack and Sharon leave together.
A drunk Dru and Edward pose for more photos and Carmen wants Dru to
take one out without the champagne glass. Neil looks on. Dru begins
to badmouth Carmen about her flings at NE and creates a scene so that
Neil has to drag her out.
Nick fills Phyllis in on Dru's public outburst which Phyllis regrets
having missed and doesn't know if to thank or kill Dru for making the
party memorable.
Victor has blocked the front door and now has a gun in his hand as he
continues hearing voices. Nikki arrives and is trying to open the
door, but can't

Victor is Committed! - (there is a picture of Victor being held down)
he develops schizophrenia and it gets harder and harder for him to
hide the symptoms.
Dru is Arrested - Dru has insomnia and is stressed out over her
marriage falling apart - she guzzles wine at the gala and announces
quite loud that Carmen is sleeping her way through the executive
ranks at NE. LML says she's horribly drunk and acting out. Dru then
breaks into Carmen's suite and trashes it. Carmen walks in as she is
ripping up her clothes. Neil drags her out and drives her to
Sharon's. Dru is crying to Sharon about what she did when two cops
appear at the house with a warrant for her arrest.
Jack & Sharon have sex. (there is a picture of Sharon & Jack in bed
kissing-naked)
"Interestingly, I think it isn't a shock," Latham declares about this
latest hookup. "These are two people who've both felt very rejected
and hurt. Out of that comes a certain kind of bonding because nobody
else can understand what you've been through."
But those jumbled feelings are what Jack wants to capitalize on. "He
has his own plan with Sharon," chuckles Peter Bergman (Jack). "He
wants to keep the Newman family off-balance. And what better way to
do it than to keep Nicholas second-guessing what the heck is going on
between his wife and Jack."
Nick has already spied his former stepfather and Sharon in a kiss,
and Newman is even more perplexed when the unlikely couple arrives at
the gala together. Jack pours on the charm as his date gets a case of
nerves before her presentation as NVP spokesperson. "Sharon starts
off a little creaky and has a tough time at first becaus the whole
world is watching her," explains Bergman. "But she finally finds her
groove and does a great job. The evening is a real success."
After the evening concludes, Sharon is on a high when Jack asks her
to his place for a nightcap. "They're enjoying each other's company
and one thing leads to another," smiles Bergman. Before things go too
far, however, Sharon questions Jack's motives. "She thinks he may be
trying to get back at Phyllis," explains Bergman. "But Jack says, 'I
want this, but it's more important to me that you also want this.' So
she goes along with it and they go upstairs. It turns into a much
better thing than Jack ever expected."
Sharon doesn't hang around for the afterglow. Jack takes her home,
where she finds Phyllis babysitting Noah. Phyllis explains that Nick
was summoned to the hospital because of Victor, then leaves so she
can be with him. Upset to have been excluded from the family crisis,
Sharon is left lonely and vulnerable.
"Jack and Sharon are both in the rebound period," notes Latham. "It's
understandable, but not necessarily healthy. In fact, it's
emotionally dangerous."
But that doesn't stop Jack. Winks Bergman, "There will be
opportunities for Jack to seize."

Casting and Spoilers...

'Josh Wants A Divorce' preview article - The 'triangle' heats up as
Josh serves Reva with divorce papers. It starts when Josh brings Reva
to the hospital after finding her passed out at the lighthouse.
Robert Newman explains that Billy kicks Josh out of the hospital and
he goes to Cassie. He tells Cassie she is the only one who could
understand how angry he is. "She really blows him off and he gets
pissy with her. Then Josh gets drunk at a bar." Josh picks a fight
and the bartender calls Reva, who calls Cassie to take Josh home. RN
says that next time you see Josh he is hungover at Cross Creek. Reva
shows up to collect her things and announces she is moving in with
Billy. Josh is very 'whatever' about things. "He's not going to let
her get the best of him," RN says. Reva leaves and Cassie arrives.
Josh kisses her. "He's facing reality and he feels like he's at a
place where he wants to fight for Cassie. But it's not Josh
responding to Reva. More and more, he's realizing and desiring to
have somebody in his life who's not going to screw him over. He
says 'What if I were to tell you that I've already called my
attorneys and gotten divorce papers sent over? By this time tomorrow,
I'm going to be a free man.'" Cassie is happy and Josh takes off to
get Reva to sign the papers. Reva realizes there has to be financial
disclosure and if she does that then Josh will realize how much her
medical bills are. "He thinks she is being stubborn. He's
disappointed. He wants to get this done and say good-bye to that part
of his life so that he can get on with whatever the next part of his

Crash and says, "There's a part of me that looks at Cassie and

Setside sources hint there will be exploration of Olivia's past in

Hail To The Divas...

Mimi Torchin talks about her favorite leading ladies, including Kim.

GL's Kim Zimmer, who just won her fourth Daytime Emmy as Reva, will
always be at the top of my list of showstopping daytime divas. In
addition to her undeniable talent, her life force and energy explode
off the screen. Even when Reva is misbehaving or mistakenly operating
from emotion rather than intellect (as she's been doing keeping her
cancer a secret from her husband) you still gotta love her and I do.


The Buzz... (Hey! That's us! )

RN is enjoying the "Cash" and prizes these days. "There are a lot of
people who are Josh and Reva fans to the end but I've heard a healthy
disagreement among fans as to whether Josh should move on and do
what's best for his life," muses the actor. "I know people love the
idea that Josh and Reva are ordained to be together - and to some
extent that's absolutely true - but at the same time they're not good
at being married. I've been married to my wife for 20 years. During
that 20 years, I've never been married to anyone else, I've not been
divorced twice from her, I've not slept with anyone else. She, in
turn, has also not been flirting with a pyscho, has not returned from
the dead and has not come up with children that neither of us know
anything about."


Casting and Spoilers...

'Dinah and Mallet - The Wedding Is On!' preview article - The duo
reunite at their "reception." In the midst of one of the couple's
huge arguments, Dinah's phone rings and they both realize they were
so busy breaking up that they forgot to cancel the wedding. Since
their check is already cashed, they decide to go ahead with the
union. "There's only one space so they decide that that as mature
adults they'll draw a line down the middle of the room so they can
have their own party," previews Rob Bogue. Mallet crosses the line
when Dinah starts dancing with a waiter. Vanessa plays a video of the
couple that was supposed to be for the wedding. They realize they've
had good times and they profess their love again. "Friends and family
step in. Vanessa had the wedding dress in the car. Matt volunteers to
walk Dinah down the aisle. Harley and Matt give up their rings. Dinah
and Mallet decide to get married," says Bogue. But will Dinah spend
her wedding night with the groom, or someone else?

Dear Readers,On AS THE WORLD TURNS, Carly's marriage is on the brink
and although she's secretly hoping Jack will change his mind about
getting a divorce, she won't be helping matters with her next move:
jetting to Santo Domingo to speed up the process. Oh, and she'll be
bringing Simon along. Though Maura West (Carly) admits she misses
working with Michael Park (Jack), she tells Digest the lighthearted
material with Simon is a welcome relief after the painful separation
scenes. "It was very sad, emotional deep stuff to go in to work and
do every day," she says in the new issue. "So it's sort of a treat to
do this." Find just how steamy things get in the Caribbean in our
cover story. Speaking of steamy, PASSIONS's Ethan and Theresa get
down and dirty in Chris's office ... with Gwen and Jared within
earshot. Finally, Theresa has the ammunition to pry Ethan from Gwen,

section to find out. And YOUNG AND RESTLESS has a big
week coming up: Victor gets violent, Jack and Sharon have sex, and

Reporting By Devin OwensEvery time I have a chat with Amelia Heinle
(Victoria, Y&R), I'm always impressed by her lack of pretense and
ego. She takes her job very seriously and being mom to 10-year-old
son August is top priority; Amelia refuses to get carried away by the
trappings of celebrity. Case in point was when we talked for her
interview in the 9/19 Digest. I always ask stars when they knew they
wanted to become actors, and I was surprised by Amelia's
response. "When I was already on LOVING [as Steffy]," she laughs. "I
never really wanted to be an actress. When I lived in New Jersey, all
my friends were going to college; I didn't think that would be the
smartest thing for me because I didn't know what I wanted to study. I
decided to take a year off and check out New York. I knew a lot of
people who went to college and didn't soak it in, so it was a big
waste of time and their parents' money. I think it would've been a
disaster if I had gone to college. I'd have been so distrac
ted because it would've been my first time out of the house without
supervision and I wouldn't have gotten anything done. While I was a
coat check at this supper club someone told me I should be in acting
and I said, 'Um, okay.' And that's how it happened." You can't get
more self-effacing than that.

Ever wonder what Digest editors talk about in the halls? Here's

Elaine G. Flores: I love a good crossword puzzle or word game, but I
did not think I'd get into Sudoku. All the numbers looked confusing.
Still, I tried my hand at it and was totally, um, puzzled. That all
