Well we have the same opinion on most things. I loved Josh but I knew he was too odd for most of the fan base. I also just absolutely adored Jacob when he was on and he had an odd voice as well and I voted my fingers off for him.
I have been voting only for Suzi. Canada so needs a strong female rock singer. I love Melissa's voice but she is too calm for me and Casey is driving me up the wall with her little vulnerability bit. Just what we needed, another little tiny knock her over with a feather blond weak little girl for the next generation of women to grow up looking up to and thinking that is how we are supposed to be. Ack. It really bothered me when the judges played up to her vulnerable act. I cant wait till she goes.
I like Rex, probubly cause he chose to sing Metallica...I dont think I have seen that happen in the history of the idol series. Even on American Idol I dont think its happened! And I really like Aaron, even if he is alot broadway.
So there are my thoughts...not like anyone would pay a penny for them so I just give them away for free.
hehehe

I'm wondering if Suzi's problem is vote splitting with Rex. I was beginning to think they had different fan bases but now I'm not so sure. They're both rockers and they could be splitting voters. My prediction was one of the girls (Amber, Ashley or Melissa) and one of the rockers as the top 2 and the others to go way before their time. Ashley and Amber definitely went before their time due to vote splitting.
I have a lot of respect for Melissa and I often enjoy what
she sings. She's not my taste but I won't complain if she wins.
I really want Casey to go home. I like her voice but she can't perform and that puts her way down on my list. As far as I'm concerned she was the 9th best in the top ten.

I guess you're not watching INXS. The best singer on the show (and most of the singers are better than the Idol singers) totally blew it with Layla. I'm not sure what's so hard about that song but Josh did a lot better than Jordis did.
I think Suzi isn't as good as she seemed in the initial auditions. We need her to improve and show versatility and it's not happening as much as we hoped given how well she did in the first place. I'm having the same problem with Rex. He was so good singing Blue Rodeo and Johnny Cash but his performing isn't living up to his early promise. The judges were right that he is still.
I really want Casey to go. I like everyone else. For me the priority is the ability to intepret a song and to perform. I prefer interesting voices to pretty voices. I like Casey's voice better than Melissa's but Melissa knows how to perform and she really shows she knows what the song means, whether the song is fast or slow. I had high hopes for Casey based on the early auditions but she really hasn't lived up to them at all.
I watched last night and voted for Suzi and Melissa. Melissa was really better but I keep optimistically hoping Suzi will pick up. She just doesn't have whatever it was that she had in Vancouver. Maybe she's caught in a fairytale and can only be that way closer to home. I really think someone is giving her poor advice though. I know they get coaching and such during the week, between shows. Surely they could tell her to stop holding back or whatever it is she's doing. Someone must have said she was too "raw" and now she's trying to tone it all down. I wish I could shake her and tell her to snap out of it and get back to being great.
Last night I though Aaron sang well but needed to move around a lot more for Hot Blooded. Rex was Rex. Josh totally bombed. That was such a simple song, just sing the same line over and over. Could have been done by computer/ robot. Playing the guitar at the end was a bit of a cheat, as Zack said. I wish Josh would be the one to go but I think it may be Casey. She was good last night but not good enough. Melissa was dynamite on fire. :)

I liked Cher. "Bohemian Rhapsody" was awful though. A complete mess vocally. I was hoping she's come back as a wildcard, and I would have voted for her if she was good, but too bad it never happend. I've got the file for Bohemian Rhapsody if anyone wants it.

Cher had more charisma than Rex, I wonder if it was more a matter of equalling out the boy/ girl stats than who was really good enough to keep on going. Sass, I think, did say something about not having many guys in the top 32 or going on to the top 10.

I REALLY didn't like Cher. She was the one person I was glad didn't get called back for the wildcard. I didn't think she deserved to be in the top 32 but that was partially my frustration that my favourite (Erica) hadn't made it in.

I tell you to run fast and hide well but then we'd have no
conversation so I guess I'll have to take it ;). I love the more
growly voices and the more interesting styles like Rex but even so I
can't decide who should have been the third person in the bottom 3
last week. You're right that Aaron didn't deserve it.

What's happening with Suzi? She was such a powerhouse in the beginning. I didn't see the show this week but she has been petering out. I hope she got it back this week. I'm looking forward to next Tuesday. Our TV died so I missed the past two weeks. Melissa was great on 80's night, I hope she is still picking good songs for herself.
Suzi's fanbae has completely deteriorated (spl?) and she prolly won't make the top 3. She was my favourite this year, and I've been voting for her and Ashley (and some Emily) the whole time. Vote for her please!!!

I have a really hard time finding time to watch any TV. Since I'm

I liked Stephane too & I wish he had made it over Daryl but I
preferred Aaron and Josh in the Wildcard round. He really did a great
job that round. The person I miss most didn't even make the top 32 -
Erica Peck.
Amber blamed the judges bad comments for her not going further. She
really didn't understand that her beautiful voice wasn't enough - she
needed to start to really perform. She probably made it over Ashley
because of the judges good comments (and left over good feelings from
the brilliant job she did in the top 32).
I love Rex's style. His kind of music is the kind I really like (like
Blue Rodeo & Sting). You're right that he's done so well because of
the 'cute boy' thing, and the east coast vote as well as his talent.
Both Suzi and Rex aren't quite as good as I thought they'd be in terms
of stage presence. I need to see expression in the eyes and both of
them sometimes have it and sometimes don't. Josh and Aaron and
Melissa do better in that regard. It's Casey's major downfall.

I think Aaron is ok but Suzi is dynamite. She's been my favourite since I first heard her in the tryouts in BC. She gave me shivers :)
I don't know if she is one track though I understand what you mean. I think she could sing anything (any theme or style of music) as long as she found the right song in that genre. I would love to hear her sing Black Velvet. So many of the Idols have tried that one and bombed, they just don't seem to grind it out the way Alannah Myles did. My Mom said it's actually an old song but I never heard it (or remembered it) before the Alannah Myles version.
I was sorry to see Stephane (was that the right spelling) go from the wildcards. I really think he had potential. Even if his singing wasn't the best he had a lot of character and would have been a lot more fun to watch. I wonder if they are allowed to try again once they made it that far and didn't get to the top ten.
I think Rex is hanging in cause he's the only macho type guy left. He's fun to watch but he can't really cut it with Suzi. He has charisma but not that kind of power to back it up. Amber was good but seemed to be a one trick pony. I don't know why she couldn't break out of her mould and sing more than Jann Arden classics.
I think Suzi did a great job this week but everyone did so she may
even have been 5th best. It was nice to see her do something
different (she did Minnie the Moocher with audience participation).
To some extent Suzi is 'one track' so that could be her problem in
terms of 'petering out'.
I love Aaron and he also did a great job this week. I think he may
have been in the bottom 3 because he was expected to do a great job.
It was his forte. Someone had to be and 5 of the 7 were soooo good.
I was kindof happy that Aaron was in the bottom 3 because it evens the
playing field. Pretty much everyone has been in the bottom now (Rex
is the only holdout).
I think Casey's is the only one left with no chance of winning. What
they do in the next weeks will make all the difference. Last year I
could have predicted the top 3 in order by the top 8.

Did anyone notice when Melissa put her hand out for Emily to hold, and Emily rejecteted?? That was kinda mean..
I liked Emily, so I really would have liked it if Daryl had gone, he's my least favourite.. oh well, maybe next week.
Melissa and Daryl were in the bottom 3, then Melissa was sent back to safety. Daryl was crying between the breaks and the makeup artists had to work on his face.

Casey did really badly but I'm glad she gets a reprieve. I think a
lot of people voted for her to stave off elimination and I don't think
she'll do so well next week even if she's brilliant. There's a
tendency for people who did badly to get voted out the week after
rather than the week they did badly.
I voted for Aaron (and Josh) this week because he did badly and I
didn't want to see him go. I figured Rex, Suzi and Amber are really
safe for a couple more weeks at least.

Hi all,
I went to see American Idols in concert in Toronto last night & I
thought I'd let you know what I thought.
I missed the first bit luckily Jessica came back for her best song.
Anwar was somewhat disappointing. I don't think his intimate style
suits the gigantic venue.
Constantine was good, especially for Bohemian Rhapsody. There were
problems for all the singers for the rock songs. The band was too
loud so I couldn't hear the vocals and the lighting was in my face so
I couldn't see the singers.
Nadia's 'You don't have to say you love me' was wonderful. The two
rock songs - see above.
Nikko was a major pleasant surprise. I was totally bored by him on
the show but he's a great showman on stage. He had the audience up
and dancing and his dancing skills were amazing. He had me singing
along to Stevie Wonder and I hate Stevie Wonder (which is going to be
a problem for next weeks Canadian Idol).
Scott was the second pleasant surprise. He was extremely likeable and
he sang really well. His duet of 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' with
Jessica was one of the highlights of the show. He totally nailed the
Hall and Oates song he destroyed in the original show.
Anthony was enjoyable. I got up and danced for one of his songs.
The second half of the concert was less impressive than the first but
I may have been getting tired. I've been ill and I probably shouldn't
have gone to a concert last night but after spending $100 on the
tickets I had to.
Vonzell didn't thrill me but her yellow dress that was mini at the
front and long at the back was stunning.
I love Bo and he was very good but I was disappointed about the songs
he didn't sing, Whipping Post, the a capella, Time in a Bottle.
Carrie was quite country. I forced myself to ignore the dichotomy
between the meaning of the song and how she sang it and I enjoyed it.
In all it was a fun concert but I kindof wish I had gone for Canadian
Idol performance show tickets instead.

Trapt) and mixed by Randy Staub (Nickelback, Metallica, 3 Doors
Down) and Mike Fraser (Aerosmith, AC/DC). Hoggard wrote or co-wrote
all the tracks on HEDLEY's forthcoming debut album.
Hoggard was widely favoured to win last year's CTV Canadian Idol
competition, when he shocked his fans during the finals, by asking
them to vote him off the competition so he could return to his
songwriting and music with HEDLEY.
HEDLEY will be released on September 6th, 2005.
Well I joined this group because my own CI group really wasnt moving
along so well. Decided to come here and see what everyone is talking
about. Any favorites so far? Yeah I know dumb question. My fave is
Suzi Rawn. She rocks! Reminds me of a female Bo Bice. I liked him
best for the last AI. Anyway I like Josh too because he is so
unique. He reminds me a little of Jacob Hoggard (for whom I voted my
little fingers off for!) I have lots of pics of Jacob on my other
group if anyone wants them just send me a line and I will pick a few
of the best ones and send them along.
Anyway was there anybody else out there cheering when Emily got sent
home?? Sorry to all the Emily fans but I couldnt help but cringe
every time she sang the chorus. Becides...we already have one Carrie
Underwood in the world.
Well all take care and I am looking forward to hearing your views!
