I'll have to think about what I'd like to hear but I do like your choices. I really enjoyed Melissa's 'I need a Hero' and I think 'These boots' would be just as much fun. Since I prefer a bit of fun or a hard edge that's the kind of song I enjoy seeing Melissa sing.
It would be interesting to hear Suzi sing 'Black Velvet' but I'd be worried for her. As you said it's really tough to sing it well. It's also a love it or hate it song. There were a number of critics that mentioned hating that song. The girl who sang it looked so cool, I was disappointed that she did it so badly.
I don't know music well enough to know which song was Metallica, though I've heard the name. For me it's always interesting to hear one of them sing Black Velvet. So far none of the Idols have done it well. I thought it would the just the song for Suzi but she seems to have lost her edge.
What song would you pick for your favourite(s) Idol? I would still pick Black Velvet (the way Alanah Myles sings it) for Suzi. For Melissa I'd pick These Boots are Made for Walking, the Nancy Sinatra song.
