USA HD on Channel 738

CNBC HD on Channel 771

Bravo HD on Channel 745

Sci-Fi HD on Channel 748

Is HDNet and HDNet Movies really that good?



I don't expect that CV will offer the HDNet channels unless the

one/both the owners change or something drastic happens between the

two owners to thaw their relationship.



Any news on when all the HBO channels are going HD?  IMHO, getting all

the HBO/Showtime/Starz/Encore/TMC suite of channels in HD will be

better.

And for starters if they can give us the West versions of all these

movie channels in HD it will be a good thing.

A better questions is when/how will they fix the PQ?  On most channels it is

substandard now.  Verizon is thisclose to lighting up my neighborhood and

right now I don't have a good reason not to switch if the PQ is going to be

better.  My in-laws have it and their HD is far and away better looking than

what I put up with from CV.

Will these be regular or SDV channels?  I have been waiting for SCI-

FI HD for a while, kudos to CV for adding it in time for the final

getting rid of some of the lame VooM channels - will help save

bandwidth and allow focus of resources on the stuff thats really worth

Some Voom channels are pretty worthless.  But a few are quote good.  Some good

seldom seen movies, for instance.  But they could probably show just as many

with fewer repeats on fewer channels.

Effective Thursday, December 4, 2008, Golf HD and Versus HD will be

available as full-time channels.  Golf HD is expanding to full-time

and will move from channel 719 to channel 787.  Versus HD will expand

to full-time on channel 719.  All video customers subscribing to iO

Sports Pak, iO Package or above and/or iO Business or Entertainment

package with HD equipment will be affected.



Effective on Thursday, December 4, 2008, Cablevision will launch two

new standard definition (SD) digital services: Chiller and Sleuth.

Chiller is a digital cable television channel specializing in horror

and suspense programming and will launch on channel 168.  Sleuth is a

digital cable channel with programming dedicated to the crime and

mystery genres and will launch on channel 169.  Chiller and Sleuth

will be available to residential customers subscribing to the iO

Silver or iO Gold package.



Effective on Thursday, December 4, 2008, Cablevision will launch 4

High Definition (HD) services; CNBC HD, USA HD, Sci-Fi HD and Bravo

HD.  All customers subscribing to Family Cable or above with HD

equipment will be able to view these channels.  CNBC HD will launch

on channel 771, USA HD will launch on channel 738, Sci-Fi HD will

launch on channel 748 and Bravo HD will launch on channel 745.
