I can't bring myself to believe it is coincidence. My Maxtor 300GB
also started flashing the 8-flashes death sequence after the code
push. At first, the programs on the drive were not accessible. But
after a hard reset of the 8300HD, everything is functionally OK.
However, the leds are still flashing the 8-flash sequence.
