Hi :)
For those who haven't been following the posts on the website, I
thought y'all should know:
There's a 12 to 14 week wait on Passport Applications, so if you
haven't applied yet, you should! Better safe than sorry! :)
Thanx, TD/Tim Brown
For those who aren't on the forum pages every day:
I saw this in another thread, but figured it should be somewhere easy
to find, as I remember a lot of us were wanting to throw in some extra
cash to try and help get more guests for the Cruise...now we can!

Please don't give up on Adam, after all a cruise ship is just a floating hotel, and there would not be any icebergs to contend with this time.. Not everyone can afford to fly out to LA twice in the space of a month. Crossing my fingers and wishing on a star. Remind him there won't be any reavers on the boat and he won't encounter on the crusie itself. *crossing fingers he will come* Prakash

Well if it's a decision you are making between this and the 'other con' - they have stated that they have an Angel/Drive guest as well. So either way you have a guest that you are not interested in.
I think the decision has got to be what you want a con or a holida/party
The 'other con' will have more BDH's but also more attendees so less time with those BDH's - also unless you get a Gold ticket or are in the first 100 regular tickets (which I imagine will sell out pretty quickly) - there will be no partying except for on the Sunday night.
The cruise will have less BDH's but also less attendees, it will be more relaxed and more time to party and probably more time to spend with the guests. And it's a cruise - at a damn reasonable price
That's a very good announcement and while I thought it would make my decision easier, it hasn't, darnit! That they want to bring in Buffy/Angel actors is a big thing for me. I'm just not interested in those actors. What can I say, I'm picky when it comes to where I'm spending my money. And, really, all I'm intersted in is Firefly right now.
Of course, they sign Sean Maher (I'm sure hell would freeze over for that to happen! The man just doesn't do as many 'events' as everyone else it seems), then it would be an easy decision for me to keep my ticket :)
And I was hoping this upcoming announcement would make my decision easier. *sigh*
Tammy I'm not a geek! I just surround myself with them so I look normal.

That's absolutely brilliant news, Ron Glass is awesome, he'll certainly keep a smile on everyone's face with that great laugh of his. This cruise is going to be an awesome party, I'm even more gutted that I can't attend now.
Here's hoping you sell out. I wanna come next year.

Yahoooooo!
Lioness
Ron Glass was brilliant in Glasgow, he's such a natural with the fans.
I'm crossing my fingers and wishing really hard for Adam to be able to
join the cruise. (That is about as subtle a hint as you guys are
getting). Just in case you missed it, Adam Baldwin, pretty please.

I neglected to mention this in my original message:
"We are also capping the cruise attendance at 350. So far we've sold
just over 100 passes, this leaves less than 250 passes available.
With this price drop we expect the spaces to fill up quick."
A double helping of great news! We have confirmed our first Big Damn Hero (ie major Firefly/Serenity cast member for you alliance folk). Ron Glass aka Shepherd Book, will be joining us for Browncoat Cruise! For those that haven't had the opportunity to meet Ron in person, he can put a smile on anyone's face.
We will also be announcing a Buffy VIP guest (not a scooby) sometime next week.
After much hand wringing and number crunching we've decided to change the pricing structure of the cruise, first by massively dropping the baseline price of the Full Event Pass and then by making the autographs and guest photo ops optional upgrades. By doing these two things, we were able to drop the price for a given person by a whopping $400! Yes that means you can now get the Penthouse Suite on Browncoat Cruise for less than it would have cost for an inside cabin!
Why are we dropping the price so much? Our previous pricing was based on the assumption that we would need to pay full appearance fees for four or more of the Big Damn Heros. Due to a certain other Serenity event happening a few weeks before Browncoat Cruise, the availability of the BDH's is quickly becoming limited, and we don't anticipate getting more than three, possibly less. Instead we plan to sharpen the focus of Browncoat Cruise as being just that, a 24-hour-a-day party cruise with Browncoats. The VIP guests and activities are primarily a value add. That being said, we do anticipate announcing several more "Little Damn Heros" (Firefly/Serenity guest stars and production staff) over the next few weeks and months, and maybe even some more BDHs
And rather than charging everybody for the autographs and photo ops, if you are interested you can add just the ones you want. Final pricing for autographs and photo ops are still being determined, but autographs will be no more than $20/ea, and photo ops no more than $30/ea.
Also, if you are a Southern California local, and don't have to pay for a hotel to "that other con", you may have noticed that it is now possible to attend BOTH their con and our cruise for less than what our cruise would have cost you yesterday!
For those of you that have paid-in-full for your full event pass, we now owe you a partial refund. We will be contacting you individually and should have the refunds processed in about 10 business days. You will be given the opportunity to apply some of your refund toward room upgrades and/or autographs & photo ops. Please understand that this process will take a little while.
Also for those of you who still might think Browncoat Cruise is more expensive than a land based cruise, because... well, because it's a cruise... you may be surprised, please see the chart on our website:
I read about it on Whedonesque, but it's not been posted here. We got Niska, right? A Big Damn Villian is a fine catch. I just hope we land a Big Damn Hero to complement him! :)

I mean, of coarse there will be screenings of all those things. And why limit all of them to just uber-browncoats.
There may be some where there's a live commentary or something like that and those should probably be reserved for the Full Event Pass holders, but the screenings of just the show could easily be an open event thing.
I was just thinking about this, and thought maybe we could discuss it as a Group. Will there be screenings of Episodes, the BDM and/or the DTI Documentary? If there are, I would like to suggest that we find a way to make them accessible to Everyone that goes on the Cruise. That
way, we could both celebrate amongst ourselves, AND get some Newbie Recruits as well! I also think it would be Shiny to donate the Box Set to the Crew's Video Library, if they have one. Comments? Ideas?

Um, about the money not going through.... Yeah, turns out the Travel agent working with Browncoat Cruise is on a cruise and won't get back until Wednesday which is what has been delaying the money going through. It's kidof crazy the hoops one has to go through to do an event like this...
Please don't be alarmed, the money will go through by Thursday, and all the card information and what not are secure.
I hope this didn't put anyone out too badly.
If you still haven't seen the money go through by Friday, please email Tony or Jeremy at Browncoatcruise.com
I've booked my berth for the cruise and am all excited!!
But I just have one worry. I got the confirmation email last Saturday, but my money hasn't gone from the bank! Didn't anyone elses' take this long? I have written to the browncoat cruise question email but
haven't had a reply. It's just the Aussie dollar is actually doing reasonably well against the US and I'd love to not lose money!!

Submissions for new Browncoat cookbook to open in March 2007
February 8, 2007 - Press Release
Seattle, WA, February 8, 2007: The non-profit corporation which produced the
original Browncoat cookbook, Browncoat Relief Corps (also known as the BRC),
is working on coordinating the sequel volume, draft titled Big Damn Chefs
Rise Again. The cookbook is a collaborative charity project, a collection of
recipes submitted by fans (also known as Browncoats) and the cast/crew of
Joss Whedon's Firefly television show and the movie Serenity. The success of
the original volume was very rewarding, and the BRC believes a second volume
will be equally as welcome in the Firefly and Serenity community and will
bring the selling goal of three-hundred and thirty copies nearer to
fruition. The admirable recipient of the funds raised by the sale of the
cookbooks, Freedom From Hunger (www.FreeFromHunger.org), is also excited by
the prospect of another collaborative volume, and both they and the BRC are
eager to work on the new book so that sales can begin and the funding goals
can be met and exceeded!
Submission of recipes and other materials are encouraged from all members of
the Browncoat community, including the cast and crew of the television show
and movie.
More and detailed information available in the Full Press Release.

Oo, if there is some music action, I'd like to get in on that. Sadly, I'm
more of a singer than a songwriter, but I'll do justice to your stuff. :)
