Austin CSTS 2009
June 28th

It's that time again! Time to get ready for Austin's Can't Stop the Serenity!
June 28th is the day, but you don't have to wait until then to get your tickets.

That's right! Tickets are on sale now at the Alamo Drafthouse Lake Creek website
for all three event showings - 12PM, 5PM, and 10PM. Tickets are $15 if you
purchase from the site in advance, and $18 at the door on the day of the event.

We've got our schedule planned out and ready too! Take a look at the official
Austin CSTS website for a peek at what's in store for Austin CSTS 2009.

Proceeds from this year's CSTS Austin are going to Equality Now and The Kids
Need to Read Foundation. Kids Need To Read is a children's literacy non-profit
organization who will take the money we raise and put it back into Austin's
underprivileged schools, libraries and shelters.

First Sunday
July 5th

Come join us as we host our monthly shindig (held, not surprisingly, on the
first Sunday of every month). Meet the entire crew of the Austin Browncoats and
hear about their past, present, and future adventures.

We're watching: Bushwacked

Special Feature: Since this is the day after the 4th of July, we're going to
have a 4th of July inspired potluck. We'll have BBQ and apple pie. Bring 4th of
July inspired treats!

San Antonio CSTS 2009
July 12th

The Austin Browncoats are organizing the first ever CSTS event in San Antonio
this year.

The event will be held on July 12th at the Alamo Drafthouse Westlakes in San
Antonio, and will include a screening of Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog in
addition to Serenity, a costume contest, raffle, and auction. All proceeds go to
support Equality Now and The Kids Need to Read Foundation.

Where: Alamo Drafthouse Westlakes (1255 SW Loop 410, San Antonio, TX 78227)
Time 4:00 PM and 9:00 PM
Cost: Tickets are $15 Early Bird or $18 at the Door. Tickets are available at

July Bloody Good Meet Up
July 12th

Where: The Blood and Tissue Center of Central Texas, 4300 N Lamar Blvd., Austin

When: July 12, 2009, 1:15 to 3:00PM

Who: We are meeting up with the MEETin Austin group! If you'd like to come,
reply to on our forums. Don't want to donate blood, but you would like to
cheerlead and lend moral support? Come along!

Why: Come with the Austin Browncoats and Austin MEETin group and donate blood
every two months! Donate some blood, so you can feel Bloody Good, too! To read
more about donating blood and why we're doing this, visit our Bloody Good forum.

Rules: Almost anyone in good health (no colds or flu) who weighs at least 110
pounds and is at least 17 years old. Donors should bring a photo ID and know
their social security number. We encourage all donors to eat and drink plenty of
fluids before donating. Some medications, medical conditions or risk factors may
be a basis for deferral. Speak to the nurse manager by calling 512-206-1108 if
you have any eligibility questions.

The fun: Wear a costume when you go to donate blood. Why? Because it'll put a
smile on someone's face. Austin Browncoats will also have a prize to give away
to the best costume of the day!
