It is with great sadness that we, Jeff Cicolani,
Sheena Harden and Rita Sanders are writing the Members
of the Austin Browncoats to formally announce our
resignation from the Board of Directors. In addition
to resigning from the Board, Sheena Harden will no
longer be serving on the Browncoat Ball Committee.
All information for the Signalers Track has been
turned over to the Board.
This has not been an easy decision. We have done all
we can to ensure that this organization is run in
keeping with best business practices, with integrity,
dignity and with the highest regard for our
membership. Regretfully, we were unable to come to
consensus with the Austin Browncoats' Chairperson. We
can no longer continue to participate on the Board as
we cannot condone the management practices and
behavior of the Chair.
We are especially concerned with the lack of financial
and organizational transparency coming from The Chair,
even to fellow board members.
Additionally, we do not condone the manner in which
The Chair conducts herself in public when representing
the Austin Browncoats.
We would like to make sure that the membership
understands that the actions of the Chair do not
represent us or what we wished for this organization.
We will be returning all Austin Browncoats assets in
our possession to the organization. Sheena Harden
will no longer be hosting a garage sale or pricing
party. The Board of Directors has been made aware
that they have seven (7) calendar days in which to
collect the donations from Sheena Harden and Rita
Sanders. If they are not collected within that time
they will be donated to Goodwill Industries.
Additionally, Sheena will no longer be paying for the
Austin Browncoats updatelog/base camp subscription
($24 per month). The Board of Directors has seven (7)
days to either transfer ownership or copy any
pertinent content from the site that they wish to
keep.
We have outlined our formal grievances to the Board in
a Unified Statement of Grievance.
We would like to remind the membership of the Freedom
of Information Act that enables them to request any
and all documents associated with a charitable
organization, such as the Austin Browncoats. We
strongly encourage the Austin Browncoats to exercise
these rights.
Although we are leaving the Board, we will always
respect and value all the members of this organization
on a personal level. Our hearts and friendship will
always remain open to any Browncoat. We will always
be Browncoats and wish everyone the best of luck.
Stay shiny and keep flyin'!
