If there is, it's certainly not a part of the files that we have. Sorry.

You're correct, it's Alex and other "unnamed rabbit character" in this class is
Maria.

Yes I had stopped watching for some time now. Granted I would catch a re-run
here and then but usually nothing of the more recent ones. I actually don't
think I've caught all the Season 12 ones actually. Season 11 and the whole movie
thing kind of turned me off from newer episodes.

I would just have to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed every just about every
episode this season. The only I didn't care for was the Harry Skeever story,
those stories are always dull and I find Marina so underused. She's so isolated
from the other characters and only wasted to prop Prunella. Such a shame they
never have Marina interact with other characters.

In addition to "Kung Fu Fool", "Good the Bad and the Binky" and "The Silent
Treatment" I found "MacFrensky" to be quite entertaining. Loved evil Muffy and
the Macbeth references!

My station aired the episode again during the 6am showing, I assume it was

Hmm after watching agree I have to say I must have misunderstood her emotions.
She was clearly in denial not selfish as I had first thought. I liked Muffy in
the episode.

Very interesting. I often pay attention to this sort of thing, but I didn't
catch that Greg Bailey hadn't been directing for a while. In any case, it's nice
to have him back.

But yeah, the past week's episodes have been very good for the most part, with

I think one of the reasons the show has picked up again is that Greg Bailey is
directing the series again. For a few years, starting around the time Cinar
became Cookie Jar, it was directed by somebody else. The quality of the show
kind of hit a nadir at that point.

But yeah, the past week's episodes have been very good for the most part, with
'No Acting, Please' and 'The Good, the Bad and the Binky' being my favorites.

As for 'The Great McGrady', I loved it, but I agree that there could have been
some more characters reacting to the news. They could have done without the
whole subplot of Buster trying to figure out what the new chef's food was
supposed to be. Speaking of the new chef, in the scene where Mrs. McGrady comes

I would have liked it if they said what kind of cancer Mrs. McGrady had, but I
guess the writers wanted to keep it ambiguous because all cancers are
debilitating. But during the bike-a-thon, everybody is wearing pink shirts, so
I'm guessing she had breast cancer. Then there's the fact that October is Breast
Cancer Awareness Month.

More evidence that Muffy isn't as shallow and self-centered as let on. The whole
subplot of her helping out McGrady' was cute (I also LOL'ed at her not knowing
how to use dish detergent correctly).

At the end of the special there was a dedication to somebody named Leah Ryan.
My amateur Google-fu skills led me to this:

She was the writer for 'The Great MacGrady' (along with Peter K. Hirsch), and
also wrote 'The Cherry Tree' back in season 12. Unfortunately, she died of
leukaemia in June. I wonder if she had a chance to see the completed episode?

I never stopped watching, but the show had lost a lot of enjoyment for me
because for a while a lot of the episodes just weren't very good. And I did, for
the most part, stop watching repeat broadcasts. I had been planning to post here
about these latest episodes, but didn't want to post anything if it was only
going to be me posting. Anyways, I agree. Things really do seem to be picking up
lately. I enjoyed most of the most recent set of episodes. Not all of them, but
most.

>Wow, you stopped watching for a while too? I accidentally caught the
>cancer episode today after a couple years of not watching, and what
>a surprise it was.
For anyone randomly tuning into the show any time this week, it's going to be
pretty hard to *not* catch the cancer episode, as they're doing it as event
programming. They're showing it every day this week (Monday - Friday). My local
station airs the program twice a day, which means that by the time the week is
out, it'll have been on a total of ten times.

>Definitely the best one in a long time, and I'm sorry I missed last
>week's eps.
When they roll around again, watch for "No Acting Please," "Silent Treatment,"
"Kung Fool" and "The Good, the Bad and the Binky" in particular.

You're right. I suppose they thought it would help to focus the story by only
showing the reactions of a particular group, but it would have been nice to get
more from the whole group.

>How were Arthur and D.W. able to buy all of those stuffed animals?
>Unless they came from D.W.'s overflowing toy store of a bedroom.
>(Wow, D.W. actually giving away her possessions? How often does that

:) Well, I don't know about all of them, but she did indicate directly that at
least one of them was one that had previously been given to her by Grandma Thora
when she was sick.

>I don't think Muffy was being selfish, at least not deep down, she
>just had a more stoic approach to the crisis. It's more or less a

I think so too. I think Muffy was in a state of denial, combined with a lack of
specific knowledge. Finding out that Mrs. MacGrady was losing his hair was
probably the turning point.

Oh, and the most comic moment of thee episode was learning that Muffy doesn't
even know *how* to do dishes. :D

>Truly someone got this season right, even the voice actor playing
>Arthur sounds like of Arthur from the good old days!
Very good point! I think they've finally managed to stabilize the voices-- I no
longer have any problems with any of the voices. They all sound as they should.

Wow, you stopped watching for a while too? I accidentally caught the cancer
episode today after a couple years of not watching, and what a surprise it was.
Definitely the best one in a long time, and I'm sorry I missed last week's eps.
I really liked the special, but the reactions of the other characters could have
used some more screentime. All we really seen were Francine, Muffy, Arthur, and
D.W. ... I thought Francine's reaction was a tad overplayed (yes, we get it
Francine, you're upset), but I suppose it's because she's close to Mrs.
MacGrady.

How were Arthur and D.W. able to buy all of those stuffed animals? Unless they
came from D.W.'s overflowing toy store of a bedroom. (Wow, D.W. actually giving
away her possessions? How often does that happen?)

I don't think Muffy was being selfish, at least not deep down, she just had a
more stoic approach to the crisis. It's more or less a coping mechanism. Her
reaction actually seemed to be the most realistic IMO.

Anyhow, I hope to catch some of the new ones when they re-air on PBS. I know
some of em are on YouTube, but I'm not too big on watching shows on the
computer.

Two of the stories you mentioned are part of the group that airing this week on

do ten episodes per season, but we only get half of them in one go.

Dorawinifred.net had summaries of upcoming episodes that don't look like they're
going to be a part of season 13. Any idea what happened to them? I'm talking
about these:

Prunella Deegan and the Disappointing Ending - Finally, the final volume of the
Henry Screever series, The Knights of the Bouillabaisse, is out. Prunella and
Marina compete to see who can finish the book the fastest. But the two friends
learn that speed-reading doesn't always pay off.
Prunella and the Haunted Locker - Prunella is assigned a new school locker,
which is rumored to be haunted! She refuses to believe it… until mysterious
and unexplained things start to happen. Will Prunella have seven years of bad
luck (and bad grades) or can she get to the bottom of this mystery?

Fernlets by Fern - As part of her latest business venture, Muffy talks Fern into
writing poems for a new line of greeting cards which becomes the hit of Elwood
City. But booming business causes Fern to burn out. Can Fern and Muffy find a
way to make writing fun again?
No Acting, Please - When Fern lands a role in the Elwood City community
production of "It Began With a Whistle," she fears she's not talented enough to
be a star actress. But Will Toffman teaches Fern how to have fun, be herself and
truly shine.

The Brain Gets Hooked - Brain gets hooked on the latest tween reality show
"Junior Island." When he starts to ignore his friends and his schoolwork, he
knows he's got a problem. But what can he do to break the addiction?
Arthur's Number Nightmare - When Arthur and gang suspect that they're being
ranked at school, they become obsessed with what the numbers mean. Is Arthur
really smarter than Brain? And is Buster's lucky number eleven? The kids get a
surprising lesson in numbers.

Paradise Lost - Baby Kate is growing up! She's started saying her first words.
But strangely enough, the more words she learns, the less she seems to
understand their dog, Pal. The two head off to the Children's Zoo in search of
the Dolly Llama for an explanation, and to see if they can reverse the process.
Along the way, they learn that growing up is inevitable and maybe it isn't so
bad.
The Silent Treatment - George wonders if anyone would notice if he just
disappeared. He vows not to speak until someone notices him. Of course his
friends do notice and decide to cheer him up with a surprise party. The problem
is, George has no idea how they feel about him because, in order not to ruin
surprise, everyone tries to avoid him.

A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Tibble - The Tibble Twins set out on new
business venture â€" selling their pre-school art masterpieces to earn enough
money to buy the coveted Krummy Kreepy Kastle. As their business takes off, so
does their own appreciation for their art. Is the Krummy Kreepy Kastle really
worth giving up their masterpieces?
D.W. Swims with the Fishes - D.W. and James enter the pre-school swim meet and
recruit their big siblings to coach them. All goes swimmingly until Arthur and
Molly start taking their jobs a little too seriously. Who's this race about,
anyway?

The Good, the Bad and the Binky - As Emily's new babysitter, Binky introduces
his charge to the world of pro-wrestling and teaches her some fierce moves. But
when Emily starts ruffling the feathers of other pre-schoolers on the
playground, Binky worries he hasn't been the best role model. Can Binky restore
Emily to her former, tea-party loving self?
MacFrensky - When Francine and Brain are locked in a stiff competition to win
student of the month, Muffy talks Francine into "borrowing" Buster's toy and
letting Brain take the blame for it. As the lies grow and the prize gets closer,
however, Francine's guilt increases. Can she come clean and wash her hands of
this dastardly deed?

A wheelchair? Sorry, but I'm disappointed. I was hoping for something a bit more
unique and not seen before. Characters in wheelchairs have already been done in
"Clifford," "Little Bill" and "PB&J Otter," to name just a few.

Unbelievable. If I were still anywhere near as much of a fan of the show as I
once was, I'd be really peeved, but these days, all I can muster is a bit of
slight indignation. High-def, huh? Interesting.

Okay... so they definitely are premiering new episodes in other countries before
they come out in the USA. PBS really dropped the ball somewhere.

I've found a few YouTube links. The video quality isn't really good, though.

Kung Fool - Part 1 (Sue Ellen finally appears in this one, for you Sue Ellen

Also, the episodes look to be in a 16:9 widescreen format. I'm guessing "Arthur"
has gone high-def.

Either a wheelchair, or a missing limb (like one character in Maya and
Miguel.) Going too far would be having someone who is autistic, or who
has Down's Syndrome or other large mental disability. Be hard to write
for that kind of character.

Gotta wonder how Marc Brown feels about that. And PBS, too. Arthur is their
flagship show, and they no longer get to premiere the new episodes first.

Then again, most of the production of Arthur is done in Canada-- the
storyboards, background art and voices, mostly. That, and Cookie Jar is based in
Toronto.

Although the U.S. does the writing/screenplay (in Los Angeles, I believe) and
post-production (Boston, specifically at WGBH). I wonder if those two facts
changed too, and all production is done in Canada now?

Weird. That sort of thing isn't uncommon with shows such as "The Backyardigans,"
which are made in Canada by Nelvana and often air in Canada before making their
way to Nick Jr. in the United States. But I've never known that to happen with
"Arthur" before-- episodes that have already aired in Canada, but aren't even on
the upcoming schedule for airing the United States.

Sorry for double post, but I felt that putting two lists in one post would make
it too long.

Here is a list of episodes that have already aired on Canada's TVOntario
network, but are not (yet) scheduled to air on PBS...

Prunella Deegan and the Disappointing Ending - Finally, the final volume
of the Henry Screever series, The Knights of the Bouillabaisse, is out. Prunella
and Marina compete to see who can finish the book the fastest. But the two
friends learn that speed-reading doesn't always pay off.
Prunella and the Haunted Locker - Prunella is assigned a new school
locker, which is rumored to be haunted! She refuses to believe it… until
mysterious and unexplained things start to happen. Will Prunella have seven
years of bad luck (and bad grades) or can she get to the bottom of this mystery?

Fernlets by Fern - As part of her latest business venture, Muffy talks
Fern into writing poems for a new line of greeting cards which becomes the hit
of Elwood City. But booming business causes Fern to burn out. Can Fern and Muffy
find a way to make writing fun again? No Acting, Please - When Fern lands
a role in the Elwood City community production of "It Began With a Whistle," she
fears she's not talented enough to be a star actress. But Will Toffman teaches
Fern how to have fun, be herself and truly shine.

The Brain Gets Hooked - Brain gets hooked on the latest tween reality
show "Junior Island." When he starts to ignore his friends and his schoolwork,
he knows he's got a problem. But what can he do to break the addiction?
Arthur's Number Nightmare - When Arthur and gang suspect that they're
being ranked at school, they become obsessed with what the numbers mean. Is
Arthur really smarter than Brain? And is Buster's lucky number eleven? The kids
get a surprising lesson in numbers.

Paradise Lost - Baby Kate is growing up! She's started saying her first
words.

A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Tibble - The Tibble Twins set out on
new business venture – selling their pre-school art masterpieces to earn enough
money to buy the coveted Krummy Kreepy Kastle. As their business takes off, so
does their own appreciation for their art. Is the Krummy Kreepy Kastle really
worth giving up their masterpieces?
D.W. Swims with the Fishes - D.W. and James enter the pre-school swim
meet and recruit their big siblings to coach them. All goes swimmingly until
Arthur and Molly start taking their jobs a little too seriously. Who's this race
about, anyway?

The Good, the Bad and the Binky - As Emily's new babysitter, Binky
introduces his charge to the world of pro-wrestling and teaches her some fierce
moves. But when Emily starts ruffling the feathers of other pre-schoolers on the
playground, Binky worries he hasn't been the best role model. Can Binky restore
Emily to her former, tea-party loving self?
MacFrensky - When Francine and Brain are locked in a stiff competition to
win student of the month, Muffy talks Francine into "borrowing" Buster's toy and
letting Brain take the blame for it. As the lies grow and the prize gets closer,
however, Francine's guilt increases. Can she come clean and wash her hands of
this dastardly deed?
