It's not just PBS, it's the publishing studios, as well as the stations,
too. Lots of of people to nitpick on a poster, which can get the poster
shut down quickly.
PBS should take a page from Universal's book, and build a
Flash-video-over-Java-message-streaming service just like Hulu.com. The
system is currently un-hackable. None of the shows they have can be
recorded as they change the language set often. Whenever a program is
released that claims to record shows from the service, the language set
is replaced with a totally different one, rendering the program invalid
for that service. Hulu.com is currently paid for with unencoded Flash
advertisements at selected stops in the video stream.
