Hello<br>As many of you have noticed, Lynda went
thru many changes during her time on WW. She changed
her hair especially the most. How did you like it
best?<br>When it was straight?<br>When it was curly?<br>When
she had that little bobbed hair do thing?<br>When it
had a bunch of tight curls all
over?<br><br>Personally, I thought she looked sexiest when it was very
curly. But she looks sexy anyway.<br>Thanxz
EXCELLENT SITE!!! When I first visited this site,
at the webmasters' request to add it as a link from
mine several months ago, I was disappointed at the
quality of the content. I was subjected to poor script
and content where the page itself constantly kept
popping up error messages and locked up my computer.
However, since the new update, the site is fantastic.
There is a wide variety of eye candy including
excellent graphics and informative content on the character
and her history. Way to go, Sawnie!! I will recommend
this site to everyone and, as soon as possible, I will
add a link on my site to yours. I look forward to
future content with bated breathe. Your site is an
excellent tribute to the characters' creator, William
Moulton Marston.
Hi guys!<br><br> WONDERLAND - The Ultimate Wonder

what the future will bring, will bring...<br> New
comix based on the series, new mags and books featured,
news and all photos galleries updated as usual. And
there's still more to find.<br> Please notice that the

In the May 2000 issue of Previews, another
non-comic book WW item is featured. On pg. 330, upper left
corner, A (kids) Wonder Woman adventure book is featured
for $8.95. It looks likes it's drawn in DC animation
style & has three button to push for sound effects.
This week, I would like for everyone to submit
some personal artwork of Wonder Woman, if possible.
This is another reason for the club--to display your
talent. I love to draw and have since the 5th grade. I
will try to post more of my artwork when available. I
have more artwork now, but most of it is of characters
other than Wonder Woman. You can create a personal
folder in the club and place your artwork in that; then,
everyone can see it. I look forward to some interesting
renditions.
As of Sunday, April 23rd, 27 members have been
removed and banned from club membership. I sent out
emails to all members notifying everyone that, if they
did not contribute to the club board within two
weeks, they would be removed and banned from the club. I
am sorry that this had to be done, but the club is
for sharing, learning, and enjoying; this requires
participation on everyone's part, not just a select few.
Loved reading your post. I'm torn by feelings of
"what I would want" vs. "what I would feel would be
more (commercially?) successful." Whereas I would like
to set the film in present-day, I don't know who she
would oppose, Cheetah? demons & gods gone bad? sure the
effects could be cool; but would Wonder Woman get "lost"
in some special effects show? I think a lot of fans
have fond memories of the 1st WW TV series set in
WWII. I would so want to include Wonder Girl (maybe the
1st film just shows Diana's little sister or orphan
Donna Troy being rescued in a fire--that's it); perhaps
in the sequel though (I can wish) I'd bring in
Wonder Girl. But, I think the 1st film, Wonder Woman
should be solo.
i would set the movie in WWII; i love the idea of
kicking hitler's a$$. i don't think that it would be
easier doing one over the other. both would be equally
tenuous at best. either way it would require a good
script. no, i would not include the wonder girl character
unless it were diana as a young girl. i would try to be
completely accurate in the rendering from the comics.
In light of the recent Realworlds/Wonder Woman
comic, I thought of a two-part hypothetical question for
the club members. 1) If you were making a Wonder
Woman movie, would you set in WWII or in the present
day and why? (would it be easier to write a script
for one era vs. another?) 2) Would you want to
include the Wonder Girl character in the movie? (would
she be an asset to your story or just be too much
clutter?)
Hallelujah!!!! It's about time. Mattel has
finally come out with a Wonder Woman doll. As a collector
of Barbie and Wonder Woman items, this is fantastic.
I meant to put this message up several months ago,
but became somewhat distracted with other things. The
new doll can be purchased at www.margiesdollhouse.com
for $55 or you can get it from Mattel's collectible
site at www.barbiecollectibles.com for $49.98 through
their new catalog by mail. This doll promises to be a
good investment as far as combining two special
collectibles in one.
Most of you, maybe some of you already
saw/heard/read this already (I just saw it yesterday). Next
week's TV GUIDE (dated 4/15-4/21; 3 Stooges cover) has a
nice artice about Wonder Woman collectibles on pg. 7.
Tiny pics of Lynda Carter as WW, the WW Barbie & the
WB WW beanbag are shown. Wonder Woman is mentioned
as a "forerunner to Xena and Buffy." Lynda Carter
provided some quotes. The rumor of the movie is again
mentioned. A book called "Wonder Woman: The Complete
History" by Les Daniels is to be out this fall. If I'm not
mistaken, I believe Mr. Daniels is the author of an
excellent book, "Comix: the history of comic books in
America." It should be a great read!
Thank you very much, US, for this bit of
collector information. I didn't know anything about a new
calendar until you mentioned it. Now, I won't miss it. For
all members and visitors, this is just one of the
uses for the message board--IMPORTANT NOTICES!
Anyone get Previews at their comic shop? (If they
use Diamond as their distributor) Anyway, the April
2000 edition (which I got this week) shows a Wonder
Woman wall calender (on pg. 319) for 2001 for $12.95.
Not given is the artists who worked on this. It sorta
looks like Dick Giordano art on the cover. Well, for
what it's worth for fans looking for items other than
comics.
<sigh> Those were the days, indeed! Y'know,
now that I think about it, some dealers who
sold/still sell posters, stills, etc. were just as guilty as
fans on the misspelling of "Lynda." I would see 'em at
cons, sigh and shake my head; losing their credibilty
as a knowledgealbe retailer. As always, I enjoyed
reading your take on my comments. Take care!
You know what? Nothing irritates me more than
those self-professed fans that spell my Lynda's name
with an "i". This shows ignorance and lack of respect.
I do agree with your choice on the shows though;
the ABC series was much more true to the comics. I
didn't care much for the modern IADC angle myself.
However, I don't agree with your choice for the new Wonder
Woman. Tiffany doesn't have the looks, the figure, or
the height to play Wonder Woman; she doesn't have
that exotic look. I, too, liked Bolland's work on the
series; anyone, but Byrne, will do on this series as far
as I am concerned. I think that everyone, at one
time or another, used make believe when they were
children. My friends and I would pretend to play the parts
of Wonder Woman, The Bionic Woman, and the Bionic
Man. Ahhhh, those were the days.
I wanted to remind everyone that we have a club
album. This album is available for all members to add to
and you can view other member albums as well. These
albums are for posting your favorite photos and personal
artwork.
ECOLE3, I enjoyed reading your opinions; thanks
for the fast reply! RE: CASTING: I agree Mms. Lawless
& Zeta-Jones would be fine choices. Yes, Ms. Carter
still looks great. (don't you hate it when "fans" spell
"Linda" instead of "Lynda"?). Giving my take on this is
like walking into a minefield (few agree with me, I
usually get dissed & I come off sexist). In past years, I
thought the perfect choice was Jennifer ("The Rocketeer")
Connelly. But, I saw her in a recent photo & now I'm not so
sure (am I sexist yet?). Right now, I cast an unknown.
If I had to cast a "name" actress, I'd say Tiffani
Amber-Theissen. Don't worry y'all, I can hear your moans,
shrieks, gasps and BOOS from here. IMHO, Lynda Carter WAS
Wonder Wonder. FAV TV EPISODES: I liked the ABC/WW II
ones the best ("Feminum Mystique," "Fausta, The Nazi
Wonder Woman" especially). They had a certain charm to
them. During my 5th-6th grade years it was kinda hard
to watch the CBS shows in the family room with hokey
aliens, IRAC, et al. It was more "Diana Prince, Super
Spy" than "Wonder Woman." I was very surprized that my
sister & her friends liked the show. "She's a superhero,
I'm supposed to like this, not you," I thought. Early
on we would play WW. I'd usually be Steve Trevor
getting rescued, sometimes a badguy. I wonder if anyone
else used a jumprope for the golden lasso. Years later
in high school, I stumbled across two girls, senior
classmates, discussing/analyzing the show over lunch. I was
floored. [perhaps for a later post]. COMICS: sigh, the
jury's still out on the current creative team. The
Wonder Girls/Sins of Youth looks interesting. I agree
you on Mr. Byrne, I was more upset with further
screwing up Wonder Girl/Troia's origin. Still reading WW
Archives Vol. 2, anyone else? I like Adam Hughes, but
still miss Brian Bolland covers. While she won't be
considered the definitve WW artist, I met Jill Thompson when
she was working on WW & liked what she had to say on
WW stressing the characterization.
If I could select the new Wonder Woman, someone
other than the obvious--Lynda Carter, I would pick Lucy
Lawless from Xena. I still think that Lynda could do the
job; she is still a very beautiful woman, and she
knows the part well. Lucy would be my pick, if Lynda
couldn't do it, because she plays an amazon type part now
and would be able to physically endure the part as a
whole. However, I also believe that the woman that
played opposite from Antonio Banderas in Zorro would
make an excellent Wonder Woman as well. Both Lucy and
this other woman have the build, and the look of an
amazon. I don't have any one favorite episode from the
show, but my favorites were always the ones where Diana
was home on Paradise Island. The amazon scenes were
my favorites. I had always had a fascination with
Greek mythology, and the show allowed me a small look
into that world. As a young girl, wonder woman was a
great role model for me. Watching her, I learned that a
woman can be strong and independent, but still be a
woman. Just as with the show, my favorite storylines in
the comics took place on Paradise Island. But...I did
find the revamp for the 2nd series origin pretty
fascinating. As far as the current series, John Byrne needs to
take a course in female anatomy. The idiot draws my
character like a man. I much prefer Perez and Deodato to
his. Bryne feels that he has given Diana more
character and made her more believable. BULLSH--! Diana and
the amazons' whole appearance was what was part of
their defense. Their beauty was as much a weapon of
defense as their bracelets were.
I would love to own one of the Mego's (sigh).
With your permission, shall we change topics? I'd be
interested in your viewpoint on ALL of the following (but
answering one will do): who would you cast today in a WW TV
show or movie & why? Do you have any favorite episodes
from the TV show? (did it have an impact or impression
on you when you originally viewed it?) Do you have a
favorite run or story from the comic series? How do like
the current run vs. the Perez stuff?
I collect the comics more than anything, but I am
always on the look out for other wonder woman items. I
would love to get ahold of the original costume; it
would complete my collection perfectly. I am very proud
of my mego wonder woman doll; it took me nearly
twelve years to find it. Oh, and thanks for the
complement.
ECOLE3, I would like to hear about your
collection. Do you specialize in a particular item? Is there
something you're trying to find? Is there an item you're
particularly proud of? Nice website, BTW. It seems you've
amassed an impressive collection.
No, it is not too late to jump on board. Welcome
to the club. It sounds as if you and I have a common
love. There are some that only watch the program, but
don't really get into the character. I, too, had a
problem collecting the non-powered segment of the wonder
woman series, but over the years I have been able to
all of them with much persistance. Again, welcome to
the club and I look forward to more of your
contributions.
I collect figures, coloring books, stills &
videos from the TV show, books and comic books. My quest
is trying to get back issues prior to 1962 to
continue a consectutive run of Wonder Woman comic books
from '62 to the present--I didn't think I would ever
back up my run to a 10 cent cover priced issue when I
started. The non-costumed WW/Diana Prince issues (late
'60s/early '70s) were the most difficult to find. Growing up
in the '70s in a place where Batman TV reruns didn't
often air, WW provided a needed "fix" for fantasy
entertainment & was a show both boys AND girls liked (in my
neighborhood, anyway). Good luck on your club. Hope it's not
too late to jump on board.

Let's start out the message part of our club by
discussing Wonder Woman collections. Do you have a Wonder
Woman collection, and is there something specific to
that collection that you are particularly proud of?
What types of memoribilia do you collect, or is there
something particular that you still lack for your
collection?
