VJ<br><br>HOMETOWN:<br>- Rigaud, Quebec<br><br>THE ROAD TO MUCH:<br>Since
the ripe ole age of 12, Amanda has been working as a
professional actor and dabbled in sketch and stand-up comedy,
with numerous TV appearances and a gold medal win at
the 2000 Improv Games in Quebec as a member of the "8
People" troupe.<br><br>An honours graduate from John
Abbott College, Creative Arts program (in Ste. Anne de
Bellevue), she has always maintained an avid interest in TV
production and music, and at 16 co-produced a documentary on
the swing revival.<br><br>In between gigs, open mike
nights where she was gutsy enough to try stand-up,
creating video comedies with her friends and learning to
play the fiddle, she held a part time job as a
waitress in Hudson., Quebec. Here she was "discovered" by
a MuchMusic producer who encouraged her to complete
an audition tape - which she wrote produced and
directed.<br><br>ROAD WORTHY:<br>The life of a MuchMusic VJ means being
able to adjust to living on the road, and Amanda
couldn't’t be more prepared. Her two-month European
backpacking adventure - Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Prague,
Budapest, Vienna, Venice, Florence, Nice, Monaco,
Barcelona, and Paris - has definitely put her in gear for
the Much lifestyle - bad accommodations, bad
restaurants, infrequent bathing...<br><br>THE JOYS OF
BACKPACKING:<br>In Amanda’s own word’s, “The simplicity of living
everyday for the moment with nothing but a pack on your
back and adventure in your heart.” <br><br>COMEDY
CENTRAL: <br>Worked as an actor at the Canada Customs
College. (Seriously). Participated in border-crossing
simulations to train officials. AW: "The best comedy
experience, EVER."<br><br>Worked at a crepe kiosk at the 2000
