Subject: Re: [agothic] Trinity Bookstore ClosingWow, Roxanne! It is I, your former bookstore manager AG PA here, and I totally understand, but how sad! I'm not net-savvy enough to take this on, but I am gutsy enough to ask everyone on the list about it, so would you be adverse to someone else taking it on if they wanted to post everything on a side page to their own site? And in the hopes this is okay with you, I'm going to go ahead and ask, would anyone reading here on the list want to save the Trinity Bookstore and open up your own version, awaiting the okay from Roxanne? In the meantime, thanks so much for keeping the site up for so long--once again, I am always amazed by the AG fans and their affection for the show! Don't be a stranger!CIn a message dated 10/22/2008 12:42:52 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, RoxanneP@... writes:Greetings fellow Gothniks --
The long time fans of American Gothic might remember my fan fiction site The Trinity Bookstore at http://members.aol.com/roxannep/agfanfic.html. Well, I'm going out of business as it were. AOL is shutting down their AOL Hometown/FTP service which is where I have all the files and they're not offering any web hosting replacement.
Since there haven't been any new or updated stories at the Bookstore in about 6 years, I've decided to just let it go. AOL states that the websites will be available until October 31st. I'm sure the Sheriff would find some irony in the fact it'll be shut down on Halloween.
So if anyone wants to take a trip down memory lane and save any of the stories on there, our going out of business sale is the rest of the month. Remember to contact the authors directly for permission if you want to put their stories on your own websites. And if you have the Bookstore listed on your site, don't forget to remove the link after Halloween.
The Trinity Bookstore's had a good run, people. I can't believe I started it 12(!) years ago when I knew nothing about html coding. Now I just know next to nothing. :-)
Trinity's a small town, so I'm sure I'll be seeing y'all around.
