Hi Roy

If you're still looking for Wombles knitting patterns, I noticed that
a few are being auctioned on eBay at the moment (www.ebay.co.uk). Not
Wellington, unfortunately, but I'm sure he'll come up eventually.

Cheers - Tara

Try eBay - I've seen it offered for sale several times. Use (Wombles,Womble)
as keywords for search - in brackets.
They recently has someone offer the 3 lp box set which contained the first
three Wombles albums, but without the cover artand lyric sheets. Original
copies did come with a badge, colouring sheet, and poster though...

Failing that try some of the online collectible record stores like GEMM.
(sorry can't think of the URL at the moment)

my friend? We have been looking for them everywhere but nobody can help us.
We watched it on TV when we were little. Please help us find them. Thanks.

Try eBay for starters - they've had a number of the most recent dolls come
up for sale at around 9.99 Pounds.
The '98 dolls are the most readily available as are the "beanie" dolls, the
'91 Rainbow dolls turn up occasionally and are highly recommended if they
come with full accessories (hats, aprons, scarves, glasses), the older dolls
are harder to come by with full accessories and there were two manufacturers
Pedigree for the small 10" dolls and Burbank for the large 15" dolls. The
Burbank dolls talked when you pulled a string but the three I purchased all
had defective voice boxes and are now mute - they might be repaired but I
don't want to cut open the doll to access them. The real problem is getting
the character you want - Orinoco is fairly easy but the rest are tricky with
Tobermory, Madame Cholet, and MacWomble being the hardest to get.

There are a number of stores on the net that sell character merchandise -
the problem is that they may now be out of stock of Wombles. There's one
called the Character Warehouse (?) that had them as recently as January, but
only the less in demand characters.

Orinoco and alderney. I chose alderney

Hi folks

Look out for a TV programme called I Lost A Million, tomorrow evening
(Tuesday 3 July) at 22:50 on ITV.

It's a series looking at wealthy people who have lost their riches.
One of the people included this week is author Elisabeth Beresford,
who made a fortune from The Wombles but lost nearly everything in the
Lloyd's crash.

Could be interesting... if you watch the programme, why not share
your thoughts here afterwards?

Cheers - Tara

Hello everyWomble!
This is Stintfang Womble speaking. In fact my name is Robert Madsen
and I admire the Wombles since I saw them 1974 in the break of the
european Song Contest. I joined here to find other people who share
my hobby. I own a german Womble-Site which will be updated shortly
after easter. It's in German of course but perhaps I will add an
english section to it some day. However, my website convinced Mike
Batt that I should translate his site into German too and now I'm the
proud owner of the official German Mike Batt Website.
If you want to improve your German Knowledge then surf by to
www.MikeBatt.de or www.StintfangWomble.de

Does anybody know where I can obtain the soundtrack of the
Movie "Wombling free?"

Greetings from Hamburg, Germany

Hello, and thanks for signing up! I hope many more Wombles fans will
join us as time goes on.

I thought I'd start by introducing myself. My name's Tara and I live
in south London. I've liked The Wombles for about five years now -
although I probably liked them when I was young, too!

It all started when my boyfriend (now husband) bought me a second-
hand Wombles LP for Christmas, just for fun as we lived near
Wimbledon. We were surprised to discover how good the music was, as
we both like power pop!

Gradually we tracked down the other three albums, some books and
videos, and most of the annuals. (I think I've got all the annuals
now, but I've only added two of them in the last few months, thanks
to eBay.)

Much to our surprise, it all kicked off again in 1998 with a brand
new Wombles TV series, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the
original TV series (the first book was published in 1968, so it was
in fact the 30th anniversary of the Wombles).

And then, last year Mike Batt decided to release a double CD
compilation of all the best Wombles songs, along with the,
erm, 'special' blend of Wombling Merry Christmas and I Wish It Could
Be Christmas Every Day, featuring Roy Wood.

That's when I decided to start my own Wombles web site, because I
couldn't find any existing sites that were still being updated. I
wanted to spread the news, and talk to other fans.

So, over to you...

Cheers - Tara
