Re: [Wombles] Re: Wombles sheet music

There was a second songbook which covered the music on the first three
albums. The arrangements for the material from Wombling Songs was reprinted
from the songbook for that album - easy piano/guitar. The arrangements for
the other two albums are a little more difficult. Plus it comes with a few
nice black and white photos of Mike Batt's Wombles.
One imagines there must have been a songbook for Superwombling, but I
haven't seen it.
I didn't know about the more recent Wombles songbook - I'll have to try and
find one.

Question for Tara: did the Wombling Songs and the most recent songbook come
with photos pages on the inside?

Hello!

Yes, there was sheet music in the 70s and again in the late 90s:

The Wombles' Song Book, published in 1973, covers the whole of the
first Wombles album (Wombling Songs) - "An illustrated album for
easy piano/organ/guitar". After that, there was individual sheet
music for various songs - they come up on eBay occasionally.

In 1998, there was a new songbook to accompany the compilation CD,
The Best Wombles Album So Far (piano/vocal/guitar). I'd imagine it's
out of print now, but I've just found one shop that appears to still
have this book on sale (£9.99):

Hope this is useful, but let me know if you'd like any more details,
as I have both of these books and several song sheets.

Cheers

Tara

Thanks to all who replied. I'll certainly check out the music makers site - it looks pretty good at first glance. I've also found that Mike Batt's company,...
