Re: [Wombles] (unknown)

Go to eBay and enter (Wombles,Womble) as a search. You'll have a wide
assortment of things to bid on.
There's usually a number of plush dolls offered for sale, lots of puzzles,
annuals, the occasional novel, and record.
For the CD try www.mikebatt.com as it is the web site for the man behind the
Wombles music. Amazon.com UK should also have it.
A few tips about the dolls: the ones to go for were made by Rainbow toys in
1990, and these come in three sizes, 8", 11", and 14". Make certain they
come with the appropriate clothing. The older dolls had the major seven
characters plus MacWomble; the new dolls cover the expanded lineup of twelve
characters. The newer (1998) dolls are more common and again there are two
sizes, 9" and 14" and update the clothing to the new TV series. There are
also "beanies" and McDonald's "beanies" but these may be too small. At the
opposite end of the spectrum there is a 22" doll made for Boots pharmacies
that is designed to hold a hot water bottle - obviously meant for cuddling.
The older 70's dolls by Pedigree are not as well crafted as the later dolls,
the rare American versions by Knickerbocker are slightly better - if you can
find them. The large Burbank talking dolls of the same era all seem to have
defective talking mechanisms and arms fixed straight out in front instead of
at the side, otherwise these are also desirable.
Or you can track down the McCall's pattern from 1974 and make your own.

Persistence and patience will pay off.

looked all over for Wombles and could not find me any. I really wanted the
CD of the first songs. I also wanted one of them: Stuffed that is: LOL:
I wish she could have found one. I have a 7 year old boy that I really want
to introduce him to them but I am having the worst luck finding anything one
these guys. Well, gotta run. Hope everyone is having a Great Day. Bye!!!
