I think it was during a Wombles' "personal" appearance on Clapham
Common that the long arm of the law arrested him for the possession
of a certain illicit herbal substance. Kind of makes one wonder what
is in Madame Cholet's clover buns and whether it has anything to do
with Orinoco's craving of food and general listlessness. ;)

There is an issue of rock magazine Trouser Press that mentioned the
arrest in the context of a letter from a reader who had corrected the
author of an article on Chris Spedding for mis-identifying Spedding
as the Womble holding a Gibson Flying V guitar in a group photo.
Turns out Messurier played the same model guitar but his was
identified by a beaded strap, whereas Spedding had a standard leather
strap.

Which leaves the question: Is it Spedding or Mesurier as Wellington
with the Flying V on the back of the Remember You're A Womble album?
