We also went to Wimbledon Common on a Womble hunt!   Message List

I'm glad Oli saw a womble!
My friend and I (who are, I might add, both 24 and all the way from
New Zealand!) went on a Womble hunt one blustery day late last year.
We hunted high and low in Wimbledon Common, hoping to spot a little
Womble going about his/her work. We crept very slowly amongst the
bushes and trees, but had no luck! We did think we saw a couple of
Womble burrows though, and sat waiting and hoping that a little
Womble's head would pop out.
All morning we crept around the common, with cameras in hand. No luck
with the Wombles, but we did get lots of strange looks from
passer-bys...!
Perhaps it was a little too windy for them that day, or perhaps we
would have had better luck if we were 5 and a half and not 24! What
do you think Oli?
