Save Angel is very pleased to announce that Blackout author Keith R.A.
DeCandido will be joining us for a live Q & A on Saturday January 20th
to discuss his book. Below is the book description:
THE DARK IS COMING. . . .
New York City in 1977 is vampire heaven. Serial killer Son of Sam is
often blamed for their hits, and a citywide blackout gives them free
reign of the streets, allowing them to get away with murder. Spike and
his beloved Drusilla are in the Big Apple taking advantage of the
situation, as is Vampire Slayer Nikki Wood, who has hunkered down with
her son, Robin, in a Times Square apartment where she thinks they'll
be safe.
But no matter where she goes, Nikki has to watch her back. Spike has
only one thing on his mind: to slay a slayer. Adding to Spike's list
of challenges is a corrupt local vampire community that catches wind
of his presence, and when they start messing with him, things get
bloody interesting.
Spike. Nikki Wood. New York City in 1977. It doesn't get much more
exciting than that. Read this terrific book and spend some time with
our special guest as he answers your questions.
The Q & A will start at 3:00 PM EST (8:00 PM GMT)
Visit DeCandido.net: http://sff.net/people/krad//
Please sign a new petition started by Save Angel member LStevens that
will be sent to Fox. She will then print the petition and mail it.
In other words, she'll be doing the work. All we have to do is write
a short message about why we want to see the return of the
Buffy/Angelverse. Let's get to it.

From MaidenGreen:
Hello Buffy/Angelverse Fans!
Well, it's been a while since I started a thread with those words! :)
We have some extremely exciting news for all our devotes site members!
deathknight_3 has provided a connection whereby we can get a Memory
Book into Joss' very hands. Through a familial connection, it looks as
though Dan Ackroyd will take a look at the Press Book and a Memory
Book filled with letters from YOU Guys and - providing he is satisfied
there are no obscenities or anything else inappropriate - will then
see that the books get into Joss Whedon's very hands.
For those of you who want to know what was in the original Press
Prospectus, check out point #1 at:
http://www.saveangel.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=5243
Isn't that something?
So what we need from all of you is a letter asking Joss to spearhead
an Angel Feature Film.
Universal Studios has stated they were pleased with the way Serenity
performed on screen, and Joss shouldn't have to duel with FOX to get
the rights to Angel and his gang or to get them on the small screen.
Maybe we'll even see some Buffyverse characters in the film! And such
a venture would be a nice way to say farewell to the Angel/Buffyverse.
Time is of the essence. We want to get this book to Joss within a very
short period of time, so write your letters as soon as possible and
post them here. Be respectful, don't use foul language, don't berate
The WB or FOX. Simply tell Joss how much you loved Angel, and how much
you would love to see the aftermath of the backalley fight AND his
vision for the much-missed ATS S6 in a feature film.
Please be swift with your offerings, and we'll get the book to him
within the next month or so.
Thank you SOOO much to everyone for your enduring loyalty to this
site, to all your hard work on past campaigns, and for continuing to
share your Angel/Buffy love with all of us here. The Whedonverse was a
truly rich world, and we are fortunate to have been visitors there for
however brief a time.

If you plan on writing a message in the booklet that we'll be sending
to 20th Century Fox in support of tv and/or dvd movies, please do so
by November 4th. It could be as little as one or two paragraphs in
support of Joss, Spike, Willow, Faith or any other character you'd
like to see again. After 12 great seasons of Buffy and Angel it
shouldn't be difficult to write a positive message as to why you want
to see more Whedon again. And if it is difficult, do it anyway. :)

Save Angel News Letter
Volume 4 Issue 6
Editorial
Here we are, at the start of another lackluster TV season, full of
grim resignation at the offerings before us. Now, that is not to say
that there is nothing to look forward to. Lost, Bones, Eureka and
Battlestar Galactica still will grace the airwaves.......but don't you
miss Joss?
Isn't his incisive wit absent from such heavy-handed programs such as
the current Survivor upmty zillion: Race Wars? We are facing more
seasons of mean-spirited TV. Simon Crowel's Cruel Insults To Wanna Be
Singers, and the EVER POPULAR Let's Eat Things That Give us
Unspeakable Diseases For Cash Show.
Of course, who would want to be left out of the season premiere of
Bachelor: Rich Guys Who Will Be On The Show But Actually Not Marry Anyone?
"Yes, yes," you are saying. "Heard it all before."
Would you like to know why you are being ignored? Would you like to
know what you can do?
The truth is there has been a subtle change at the advertising level.
The Big networks would love for you to over look the very significant
news that THIS YEAR FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HISTORY ADVERTISERS ARE NOT
SIGNING UP WITH SHOWS. THEY ARE WAITING TO INVEST THEIR MONEY.
Why? Because the TV industry has lost it's grip on the pulse of the TV
watching public. People are staying away in droves from shows like
those described above and advertisers can not afford to spend their
dollars on a public that doesn't 1) see their ad 2) crave their
product because they saw their ad.
They have placed ads with proven winners like Supernatural,
Smallville, Lost, Criminal Minds, Bones, Eureka and others. The time
is ripe for us to make a difference. Despite the passage of time,
Saveangel.org is still focusing attention on reviving our favorite
shows in some form.
Right now, we are putting together a book to send to 20th Century Fox
Television. This book will contain letters that you will write and
post in the thread (supplied further down). The letters will then be
printed out and bound in a book and sent to 20th Century Fox
Television executives. The letters are asked to be upbeat
reminiscences about what the shows have meant to you. Feel Free to
plug Buffy, Angel or Firefly or all three if you like.
What Do We Expect This To Accomplish?
We want them to remember the good times when their programs were
critically acclaimed. When Emmy Nominations were something they had a
chance of winning. We want to remind them that there is still interest
and money to be made in the Jossverse Franchise.

Site News:
Contest!
From MaidenGreen:
Hi, everyone!
On behalf of saveangel.org, I'm announcing our first - at least first
as far as I can remember - site contest! And to be eligible to enter,
all you have to do is be a site member! Cool, huh?
Contest:
Write an episode/short story featuring Illyria.
As the newest member of the Fang Gang, Illyria was a character in need
of fleshing out. The WB's stupid decision to cancel ATS effectively
ended our chance to see what Illyria might have become and where her
character would have gone in season 6. Now, we're asking for
your creative ideas on what her first adventure, post-alley
fight, might have been.
Contest Parameters:
1. Write an episode/story about Illyria, but include the ATS
cast members. Use some of these ATS episodes as examples:
Cordelia-centric episodes Rm w/ a vu, That Vision
Thing, or Birthday,
Gunn-centric War Zone, That Old Gang of Mine,
Double or Nothing,
Wesley-centric Guise Will Be Guise, Billy, or
Lineage,
Fred-centric Supersymmetry, A Hole in the World,
Shells,
Lorne-centric Happy Aniversary, Life of the Party
Connor-centric A New World, Habeas Corpses,
Spike-centric Just Rewards, Hell Bound
You get the idea. The rest of the cast are involved, but the central
thrust of the story is character-centric!
2. The episode/short story shouldn't be too long, so don't
write a book. (Take a look at Endorill's fan fiction. They
are written as episodes, so you'll get a good idea of the length.)
3. Try to keep your character's actions and speech true to the
series. Spike isn't Wesley, though they're both English, so there are
things Spike would say that Wesley wouldn't. We all know these
characters so well, but make sure you aren't having Angel act
un-Angel-like, or Fred, un-Fred-like. And try to keep the major
parameters set forth by Joss and the ATS writers. For example: Angel
is the team leader, Wesley the brains and chief researcher, Gunn the
fighter, etc. Illyria? Well, that's for you to decide how her
character would evolve and change.
4. Try and complete your sentences and use Spell Check, so we
go with the flow and not become confused by unknowable words because
of spelling. We want to understand and enjoy every sentence and word
of your creation!
5. All completed entries need to be placed in the fan
fiction forum of this site by December 1st, and should contain
the words Contest Entry in the Topic Description space
under your title. That gives you nearly 3 months to complete your
work of fiction! (After your completed story is posted, you will be
able to edit your work up until December 1st, when the post will be
locked.)
6. Winners will be determined partially by your fellow board
members, and finally by the staff of saveangel.org.
7. The winner will recieve an Angel Season 5
action figure!
This contest is just for fun, not for publication and won't be graded,
so enjoy yourselves and have fun creating something about the series
we all loved! Every entry will be treated with respect by the board
members (pay attention, everyone) and derogatory or snide comments
will not be tolerated. We want everyone to create something, so
share your thoughts about Illyria and enjoy yourselves!
So, let the creating begin!
There is some great new fiction out there:

Fan Fiction
From Scott (Buffyverse Forever):
Over in the Fan Fiction Zone, we're proud to announce the first

Also in the Fan Fiction Zone, we're proud to announce the latest
installment of MaidenGreen's epic "Three Wishes". Angel and Spike find
themselves face-to-face with the awesome Antimaus-a foe who may well
be capable of defeating both of them! But it really doesn't matter
because neither Champion can fight any more! Meanwhile, Lorne goes on
a strange mystic journey to save Wes from a danger Wes is totally
unaware of-and the only way he can do it may hurt Wes more than the
danger itself ever could!
We are also proud to announce the latest episode of Endorill's Season
Seven "The Scarlet Art". Angel and crew battle a new foe with ties to
one of history's greatest villains-and to the gods themselves! Even
the Fang Gang may be unable to overcome this deadly foe-unless an old
friend can help...
And, hey,why not contribute a story yourself, either for the contest
or just for fun? Angel needs to keep adventuring-otherwise he just
sits and broods. Help keep Angel brood-free and contribute a story today!

From MaidenGreen:
Hello, site members and fellow BTVS/ATS lovers!
Well, the '06-'07 television season is the third without any Whedon on
our screens, and I'm having serious withdrawal. You? BTVS and ATS DVDs
are my life-blood, but something new would be even better. ;)
So, how are we going to convince Twentieth Century Fox to get off
their collective butts and give us some Whedon? We're going to send
Twentieth Century Fox Presidents Gary Newman and Dana Walden some
reasons why they should. The "reasons" will come in the form a book
filled with letters from YOU, the people who watch TV and buy DVDs,
the fans who make or break shows!
To that end, we would like you guys to write a letter to FOX, stating
why you loved BTVS and ATS, and why you would like to see more of
these wonderful characters, either in a new television series, or
straight-to-DVD movies. Fox needs to deal with Joss and work towards
an agreement that would give the fans what they want; more
Whedon-verse character stories!
So how about it? Start writing your letters and post them here. We'll
print them, bind them together, and send them to the higher-ups at Fox!
Let's get cracking!

many fans can help make the CW more successful than the WB and UPN
ever were.

A message from Scott (Buffyverse Forever):
All right, it's what you've all been waiting for! It's time for the
next installment in the campaign to get us that Spike
tv/straight-to-DVD movie that we all so desperately want to see!
As you'll remember, Joss is more than ready to give us what we want.
The only problem is that he has been unable to persuade the studio to
do its part. We've already written to Twentieth Century Fox, but we're
going to need allies to accomplish our goal. The first people who
we'll be writing to to ask their help will be two distinguished

Remember, if possible, send handwritten letters. The more effort that
a letter has had put into it, the more likely it is to impress them!
And don't just stop with writing to them yourself, get everybody you
know who's a Whedon fan - family, friends, enemies, people who are
totally apathetic to you - to write in! You can even print up letters
for them if you'd like! The more mail they get, the better!
Now, let's get to work people! Angel may get to slay the dragon, but
we're the ones who've got the really important job! Let's show them
Whedon fans are truly a force to be reckoned with!

Media Mentions Of The Shows
Since not a week goes by, that some mention of the show doesn't appear
in the media, we have to wonder why the studio execs have not figured
it out. We want more! So while you are sitting down to fill out your
post cards take a gander at some of the recent mentions of Joss and
the gang:
Superman/Batman #26 - Joss Whedon and 25 other writers banded together
to write a tribute to young Sam Loeb, son of comic writer Jeph Loeb.
Sam passed away, a year ago at age 17. He was writing a story for the
comic. Pat Lee was slated to do the art for the issue. Sadly. Sam died
before this could be finished. I cried just reading the story by
Jerome Maida at Philly.com. I also called my comic store to reserve an
issue.
Reviews of Spike TV's " Blade" referred to the fact that like "Buffy"
and "Angel", the new series had plenty of gore and violence without
the "requisite sense of humor to soften the blow." I found the show
kind of bland. I will continue to watch it in hopes it will improve.
Review: Bangor Daily News and others.
Lorne's Lounge
Actors in Other Roles
On June 3, 2006 SciFi channel aired Crow 4: Wicked Prayer. I wanted to
see it before I added it to my video collection. (I support the actors
by buying their films, too.) But golleeeee, this one is going on the
shelf next to Wrong Turn with Eliza Dushku. Wrong Turn, by the way was
my new 'low' for loyalty. My husband said it all. "Wow, if it wasn't
for David, I wouldn't waste 2 minutes on this." My feeling is that the
actors did their best, the writing was just not all that hot. So,
writers, PLEASE no Crow 5, ok? This Murder of Crows is played out.
Much, much better was Voodoo Moon, shown on the same night and
starring Charisma Carpenter. The knowledge and use of voodoo was a
little sketchy, but over all, very good. I'll buy this one to add to
the Watch Again Collection.
Our Lady of Visions (Charisma) missed the signs and portents when she
"Flirted With Danger" on the Lifetime channel on June 27th. It will be
rebroadcast. Next time, Cordy, guys who act to good to be true, ARE
too good to be true. We thought you learned that lesson.
Fan Fiction
Over in the Fan Fiction Zone, welcome a new author as The Black Thorn
begins Season 1 of an all new Spike series!
Over in LuvSab's "Way of the World", things aren't going so well for
the Fang Gang after "Don't Fade Away". Can their new friend LaShey help?
Thrill to "Presence" the newest episode of Endorill's Season Seven.
When Angel and company find themselves battling a formidable demon,
they soon realize that the only way they can beat the demon is with
the aid of an old friend. The problem is that this old friend happens
to be quite dead...
Be sure to check out the newest installments in Maiden Green's epic
"Three Wishes". Spike and Illyria encounter a strange new opponent,
Wesley faces the ultimate temptation , and the entire Fang Gang faces
their strangest problem yet-an unexpected run of good luck! And in the
shadows, an even greater danger lurks-one caused by one of the Fang
Gang themselves!
Don't miss any of these epic adventures! And, hey, if you've got an
idea for a Fan Fic yourself, why not post it in the Fan Fiction Zone?
Help show the world that Angel's adventures have only just begun...
The Toy Shelf
All those who bought the Angel puppet with the Vampire Face, should be
getting theirs the middle of June. Let us know what you think. I found
a nice sword for my Battle Damage Angel puppet. (Though the folks in
the knife shop looked at me strangely when I whipped out the puppet
for size.)
He looks very cool in my office, guarding my computer from the cats.
What have you bought lately? Let us know and we'll happily print your
review.

Should we do an Angel day?
From wizarduniverse.com:
Joss Whedon: “There are certain characters I’ve been saving because I
thought I might make movies about them, but that doesn’t look like
it’s going to happen…I think money is standing in the way. What is
ever in the way? What ever makes anything happen or not happen?”
Support Spike is encouraging Whedon fans to send postcards to
Twentieth Century Fox on or about June 20th for arrival on Joss’s
birthday, June 23rd to support the return of the the Whedonverse via a
Spike Movie/DVD.
We encourage all of you to write to Twentieth Century Fox (which
produced Buffy and Angel). They want to be shown the money. That means
we need to show them the numbers. Not past ratings or DVD sales, but
numbers that point to future success. Our numbers.
We know that there are many of us. Now we have to let them know.
Joss is doing his part. Let's do our's.
Write to:
Dana Walden & Gary Newman
Twentieth Century Fox Television
10201 West Pico Blvd
Building 88, Room 30
Los Angeles, CA 90035
But don’t just stop there. If you know Whedon fans that are not
planning to write, print the postcards for them. Buy the stamps if you
have to. If everyone in your family is a Whedon fan, everyone in the
family should write.

We don’t get to decide whether we see Spike and some of our other
favorite characters back in a tv movie or dvd. It’s up to us to decide
how much noise we want to make. It's time to Spike the Volume!
The Save Angel Newsletter
Volume 4 Issue 4
Editors: Endorill and rbottnlv52
Editorial: I was watching late night tv the other evening and I
caught a couple of guys from the TV Guide channel talking about the
new CW and what it might mean to the future of television. I was
struck by their assessment of the WB. They said that the WB started
out great but then they dropped BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, (and to be
honest, they mentioned other shows as well). The biggest fear in TV
is to really alienate an audience demographic, and that's what
they've done.
Now, I am going to be honest here. I have no clue who these guys
were, but it is the TV Guide segment with the street signs like on a
corner. They didn't mention dropping ANGEL as one of the big mistakes
that the WB made, I got to wondering why that was.
On every ANGEL site out here, in the Big Blue, there are thousands
that are screaming that they want more Joss Whedon vampires and spin
offs and movies. So why don't they know that in "STUDIO EXECUTIVE
LAND"?
They should know. We have given you guys campaigns and postcards to
download. There have been addresses given for letter writing and DVD
receipts to send in. Candy, flowers, cookies to send to soften them
up. We've sent out Publicity kits with action figures. Their
ignorance just doesn't add up.
Unless.......
I am beginning to think that maybe some are not doing their bit. I
bought and sent 100 postcards last year. I mailed an additional 20
DVD receipts. I am not looking for back pats. I am here to tell you
that my hundred is not worth anything unless you and ten of your
friends also send at least 5 each.
You have to print a few newsletters and leave them laying around the
comic shop or the public library or maybe even a college campus.
We still have a chance to get a made for tv or straight-to-DVD Spike
movie. We are beginning that campaign. Let's decide now, that this
outraged, alienated demographic is going to roar!
We are beginning our campaign for a Spike movie. We hope those of you
who follow fan clubs centering on James Marsters will join us. But if
you don't want to write a letter or fill out a post card, will you at
least print this newsletter and leave it in a place where others may
find it who DO want to join in the roar"?
I want to let the WB know: "You promised us a movie, and we don't
care who you merged with. If you don't make good on your promise, we
are going to show you the 'off button'."
So? Who wants to enlist? This is WAR!
Take A Letter, Cordelia
It's hard to believe that it's been almost two years since we last
saw Angel and the Whedonverse on television. Since then, Joss Whedon
and Tim Minear have talked about producing a tv or straight-to-DVD
movie centered around Spike. Even WB executive, David Janollari, has
expressed an interest in a Spike movie.
But statements about a Spike movie are few and far in between. They
seem more like whispers than anything else.
Well, it's time we let people know how much we like Spike and some of
our other favorite characters and how badly we want to see their
return. Because whispers are not enough, it's time to Spike the
Volume!
Let's show Joss our support and let him know how badly we want this.

Sometimes you just have to take a minute to evaluate the mission.
There are plenty of people out there in cyberspace who will tell you
that it is over. They will try to persuade you that the mission was
over when "Not Fade Away" was broadcast.
It's not true. The mission doesn't end until our favorite characters
return. We want our Big Screen Angel movie. We were promised some
movies on the WB. All around the studios and back lots they are
singing the same old sad song: things change. Whatever spin they put
on their record, the facts don't change. We are still here. We aren't
going to go away. That's not changing.
We are still a forum for everyone in the Jossverse that wants more
Firefly/Angel/Buffy as part of our weekly TV diet. It's true that the
TV Powers That Be would like to ignore us; that they'd like to brush
us under the rug. Why? It's because we annoy them. We keep them from
moving blissfully on. We remind them that our power to tune in or out
isn't a foregone conclusion. It's our power and they have to coax us
to participate.
When we band together and write letters or send postcards, call or
e-mail we exercise that choice. We tell them they are failing us. We
remind them that they went back on promises to us and worst of all, we
remind them that they can't succeed with out us.
Some of them are holding out, relying on immature audience gags and
kneejerk, train wreck fascination to keep us coming back for more. Our
campaigns remind them that their audience is growing up, maturing and
becoming increasingly demanding.
Come back to the site. Bring a friend. Read the transcripts of the

It should be a lot of fun. We hope you can make it.
It's hard to believe that it's been two years since the announcement of Angel's cancellation and the birth of SaveAngel.org. If anyone had told me then that an organization dedicated to saving Angel would still be around a year and a half after it went off the air, I would have said, "Huh? No way." Never mind that I would still be part of that organization.
Well, during the course of campaigning to save that special show, I discovered just how amazing the people fighting for Joss Whedon's magnificent creations really are. It's no surprise to me that a producer that makes his own rules like Joss Whedon would inspire his viewers to not give in to cynicism and follow their hearts and devote their time and their talents on behalf of their favorite characters.
As we enter our third year, fading away is the last thing on our
minds. In fact, we're just getting started.
Our goal is to learn from our experiences and make this our best year yet. We aim to make this site the place for Angel and Buffy fans to visit every day. That means more chats, more guests, and more fun. So stick around. It should be a great ride.

WB wants Buffy Spin-off From Ign.com - By Paul Davidson - 2006-01-28
A movie centered on Spike?
January 19, 2006 - The WB
thinks it has a winning idea for a new film: a story that centers around the vampire Spike (actor James Marsters) from the cult Buffy the Vampire Slayer television series. The biggest hitch is getting Buffy creator Joss Whedon (lately of Firefly and Serenity fame) to agree.
The WBs president of entertainment, David Janollari, explained at the Television Critics Association winter press tour in Pasadena, California: "Wed ... love to do a Spike movie with Joss Whedon. [But] Joss Whedon is busy, fast becoming a kind of a big feature filmmaker. Hes currently working on an adaptation of Wonder Woman for Warner Brothers. Hes simply not available to us. But he knows, and you guys all know, the door is open any time that he wants to do that, for us to do that movie." (source: Sci Fi Wire)
In addition to Wonder Woman, Whedon also has the supernatural thriller Goner and several comic book series on his agenda. But Whedon has expressed interest in revisiting Buffy in the
future, so a Spike film cant be ruled out. Naturally, fans would hope for appearances by other characters from Buffy and its spin-off, Angel.
One potential issue, though, is that it would need to be made fairly soon. Marsters isnt getting any younger, and the Spike character is supposed to be an ageless vampire, frozen into the physical form he had when he was turned.
Lorne's Lounge:
From Zap2it.com - By Hanh Nguyen - 2006-02-7 Alexis Denisof - "How I Met Your Mother" Sitcom - Denisof Joining Hannigan Alexis Denisof as Wesley Windam Price on Angel
Aside from some humorous moments during his time on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel," Alexis Denisof hasnt had much chance to do comedic work.
That will soon change, as Denisof is joining his wife, Alyson Hannigan, for a couple episodes of Hannigans CBS sitcom, "How I Met Your Mother."
"He actually just did an episode of our show. It was so much fun," Hannigan told reporters last week during interviews for her film "Date Movie," which opens Friday, Feb. 17. She wont reveal who Denisof is
playing on the show, but does allow that "its very funny and actually, hes coming back for the next episode as well."
Hannigan and Denisof, who met when he joined the "Buffy" cast in the shows third season, have been married since October 2003.
"How I Met Your Mother," which airs Monday nights on CBS, is also Hannigans first regular role in a TV comedy, although most of her movie work has been comedic. She says shes enjoying the camaraderie she shares with the cast, which also includes Josh Radnor, Cobie Smulders, Jason Segel and Neil Patrick Harris.
"I was actively looking for a half-hour [show] because of the family aspect of television, going to work with the same people for the majority of the year and getting to do what I love to do," she says.
Shes also hopeful that the series will earn another year on CBS; thus far this season, its drawing about 10.3 million viewers per week, along with fairly positive reviews.
"Were so lucky. Were
having such a blast," Hannigan says. "We just hope we get to come back next year. They have to see all their pilots and make sure that, you know. It would be shocking, I think" if the show isnt renewed.
Firefly, the second coming ? From Moviehole.net - By Clint Morris - 2006-01-28
There has been a lot of talk the last couple of days about Fireflyseason2.com Project.
What is it? Its a site championing for the second series of a show that no longer exists. Whys it there? A company wants to resurrect said series and put it back on the tube.
Anyone else keen for a Firefly, Season 2?
Ace Underhill, from the independent production company trying to make it happen , dropped by the serenitymovie.org forums today to answer a few questions on what his plan actually is.
In the last 4 hours Ive been asked about 759 times; "so what the heck are you trying to do?". Well, our mission is straightforward, but difficult: We intend to license the
Firefly Intellectual Property from Fox, produce the show on our dime, and sell to the highest bidder, he explains.
Will Joss Whedon be involved? The Verse without its creator? Please, lets not be absurd. But Joss is very busy at the moment. We are taking care of all the mundane tasks and legwork that is required to untangle the legal issues to save Joss from any undue headaches. After all, its really tough to be creative when youre surrounded by expensive lawyers.
I have contacted Joss management. I have not received a reply from Joss personally yet, but now is not the time for him to be bothered with this. The obstacle lies with Fox, not with Joss. Once the rights are cleared, everything will fall into place. If Joss declines to be involved once the rights are secured, I will abandon the project.
He later adds, I do not know if Joss approves or not. I do know, from his interviews and discussing with those involved in BDS and BDM, that he has not
forgotten his baby. Im sure with all the posting going on and my inquiry to his agents office that he is not entirely in the dark. Perhaps he is too busy right now, or maybe he is waiting to see if I manage to make something happen. And yes, even if after spending X amount of capital and time securing the rights if Joss wants no part, then I will drop it. Whats the point if hes got no input for his own creation? .
Seems Underhill has also been in contact with many of the shows cast and crew too. We are in contact with many of the original cast and crew, but thats all that Im allowed to say at this time. Official notices will be posted on the site as they are cleared.
Now before everyone gets too excited, you may recall....A couple of years ago, another independent production company tried to resurrect another short-lived but popular TV series, "American Gothic". For a couple of years, they talked to those involved in the original show and essentially got
everyones blessing, but when it came time to talk to the studio about whether or not its do-able - they were flat turned-down. Universal wasnt interested.
Tim Minear's "Drive" is Greenlit From Buffistas.org - From Tim Minear
"Okay, the show is called "Drive." The network is, um, Fox. And it's a big, sprawling, ensemble that is utterly serialized. In the pilot, for instance, there are... let me count... about 16 possibly regular characters."
"Which means I got me some killin' to do."
"I like to think of it as "Magnolia" on wheels with a dash of "North by Northwest" every week."
"None of this means you'll see a series, but that's the goal. The network greenlit us to shoot the pilot. So that's what we're gonna do."
"Noticed a comment on Whedonesque which assumes "Drive" is a sole created by, which it isn't. It's created by Ben Queen and me."
Anthony Stewart Head In "Him and Us" From anthonyhead.org -
Tony has been cast
in the pilot of the new ABC comedy "Him and Us", which will be shot during March. Tony has provided the following update and information:
"As always, Liz and I are at pains not to provide misleading information on this website and therefore choose to wait until jobs are confirmed before announcing them - sorry if this is frustrating for those of you who have caught a wiff of something going down. "Him and Us" has been a while in coming to the boil but it is now a done deal. It is a single camera, half-hour comedy for Touchstone/ABC (same sort of format as Sex and the City - no canned laughter) and I co-star as an iconic gay rock star who is extremely high maintenance for his long suffering manager. I'm laying down vocals on two tracks written by Elton John for the pilot - he's an executive producer. Updates to follow. "

Hi Everyone! Has your New Year gotten off to a great start? I hope
you saved a resolution or two for our site. We plan to continue our
urging (some say harrassment) of the studios in pursuit of an Angel
movie while continuing to lend our support to all of it's past actors
and actresses as they appear in other roles.
We want to also give you the rumors and news of all the other
projects in the Jossverse.
Take A Letter, Cordelia
A message from MaidenGreen:
Thank you so much, luvsab, for the great idea to sack Joss with
Valentine Love!
So we're going to do it!
Every one of you is responsible for sending Joss some Valentine love!
It's wonderful when the site does something for the campaign, but
it's also fun when we each get to send something! Make sure you
identify yourself, and say you're from SaveAngel.org! We need them to
know we're still here and still fighting!
We'd also like to send some love to David as we move into the finale
of this incarnation of the Angel Movie Campaign! We don't want our
brooding vampire to forget he's got loyal fans who want him in an
Angel movie on that big screen!
But if you do nothing else, send the Valentines to Joss! He's the
mover and shaker, he's the one who must push forward more Whedon on
the small screen, a Spike or Illyria or Ripper, etc. DVD releases or
tele-movies, and he's the one who must push for an Angel movie! We
will campaign the studios, but Joss must write the script!
So Joss it the #1 target! If you have a few more bucks, then send
some love to David as well!
Here are the sites to order your chocolates from. We've got angels,
Celtic crosses, Irish Claddah rings, bats, and even a People Bone for

Joss Whedon - No more plans for "Angel" Comics
From Newsarama.com - By Webmaster - 2006-01-10
NRAMA: Any plans to have Joss Whedon more involved with future Angel
releases?
CR: No plans, but it's something I'd certainly love. Joss seems a bit
busy with a few movies in the works, and even on the comic side, with
Astonishing X-Men and a Buffy miniseries for Dark Horse in 2007. I
think we've done a great job with Angel and Spike thus far (and so
must he, since he and his production company, Mutant Enemy, have
approved everything before we've done it), but I'm like any fan who'd
love to see him handle his characters once more, with feeling.
NRAMA: Ahh... let's see if any Buffy fans get the last bit.
Anyway, as the New Year unfolds, can you tell us in broad strokes any
new initiatives or points IDW is gunning for in 2006?
CR: I'd say further diversifying our line, and offering a good split
between licensed books and new titles, is still our primary goal.
We're exploring some ways to help expand the way comics are presented
to the world.
For those of you who worship the Jossman in all his incarnations,

James Marsters Coming back to SMALLVILLE
Brainiac is coming back, and he's looking to enlist an unwitting Lex
Luthor in making the world kneel before Zod.
James Marsters is set to reprise his role as Dr. Milton Fine, the
alter ego of supervillain Brainiac, on "Smallville" later this
season. He heads a lineup of guest stars on The WB that also
includes "Desperate Housewives" star James Denton, Nick Lachey and
Kelly Carlson of "Nip/Tuck."
Marsters will make his return to "Smallville" in an episode
called "Hypnotic," scheduled to air in the spring. In it, he'll try
to use Lex's (Michael Rosenbaum) fixation on the spaceship as a way
to free General Zod from the Forbidden Zone (the general's two
cohorts made an appearance in this season's premiere).

Let's make the holidays a little happier for all things Joss!
Take A Letter, Cordelia.
We wish you Happy Holidays, not because we repudiate Christmas, but
because we know not everyone celebrates Christmas. Some folks
celebrate Channukah, Kwanzaa, or Winter Solstice. Some folks do not
celebrate anything at all. My wishes for you are not limited by some
date, but prompted by what I think about at Christmas, which I
celebrate, including all the ways people are alike. I remember how
frequently our needs mesh and overlap and I stop myself and remind
myself to be a little kinder, a little more understanding, and to
listen more and talk less.
So I want to wish you a satisfying peace of mind, a heart with joy
overflowing and hands willing to help the less fortunate. Because that
is what ANGEL was about, Helping The Helpless. So be somebody's Angel,
Christmas or otherwise, and take this week to make a small difference
in someone else's life.

Anybody see the Ready Set Change segments on The TV Guide channel?
They featured a change for an ANGEL style bedroom and a Beaver

kind of bemused that the show was doing it's bit to bring Art Deco to
the masses. Hurray for Joss Whedon, arbitrator of fashion.
Joss Whedon - "Serenity" Movie - Thestar.com Interview
From Thestar.com - By Rob Salem - 12-19-2005
The Serenity cycle continues with DVD
"There was a line that was cut out of the pilot of the show," recalls
Joss Whedon with all due irony: "Once you're in Serenity, you never
leave. You just learn to live there."
Whedon and his crewmates - and their legions of dedicated, die-hard
fans - have been living in Serenity since early 2002. Even when there
was no "Serenity" to live in.
And now it has all somehow come full circle. The TV show, Firefly,
abruptly cancelled halfway through its first season, did well enough
in fan-generated DVD sales to inspire its resurrection as the feature
film Serenity. After a healthy, if not yet entirely profitable
theatrical run, it arrives tomorrow on DVD.
And after that, who knows? A sequel? Another series?
"It would depend on huge numbers from the DVD," writer/director Whedon
allows. "Obviously, we are still shy of making our money back from the
box office. But we are within shouting distance. Still, it would have
to blow up pretty huge for a sequel to be called for.
"Mind you, stranger things have happened. And they do seem to happen
to me. So it's not like I'm shutting the door."
This is not a man who gives up easily. Particularly when it comes to
this particular world, an Eastern-accented sci-fi Western set in a
dystopian post-war near-future, centered on a ragged band of mercenary
space pirates, led by the taciturn (if slightly quippy) battle-scarred
veteran, Mal Reynolds, as portrayed by Calgary-born Nathan Fillion.
"I'm never satisfied," Whedon confesses. "I do feel some closure. But
closure doesn't mean closing the book, on those characters, on those
actors, on that universe. I always want more. I am a rabid fan. And
so, while I'm happy to lay down my arms for a while, if somebody said,
`Pick 'em up, let's do more!' I wouldn't hesitate."
Whedon is not Firefly's only rabid fan - nor is it his only TV
creation to generate this level of fannish devotion. Almost three
years after its cancellation (and two after its spin-off, Angel),
acolytes of Whedon's cult-hit Buffy the Vampire Slayer still clamour
for a sequel series, a movie or, as is most commonly rumoured, series
of TV movies.
"Unfortunately," laughs Whedon, "they're still just rumours. But I am
trying to turn them into something else. And so that, hopefully, will
be the thing ... and if not, then, unfortunately, it's just me talking."
Still, even in this rarified environment, there is something
distinctly different about the respective after-the-fact affection for
Firefly and Buffy.
Firefly fans had the rug pulled from under them after barely a dozen
episodes had aired. Buffy buffs could at least look back on a
cumulative run of (including Angel) 254.
"They got seven seasons (of Buffy)," acknowledges Whedon. "That's as
many as we had in us. But (Firefly fans) had everything taken away
from them."
Commensurate with those feelings of loss and outrage comes a certain
odd sense of righteous entitlement. More than merely wanting, or even
just deserving a full-on Serenity movie, the Firefly fans feel they
actually earned it.
And Whedon enthusiastically agrees. "They really did struggle to make
this happen. I owe them a huge debt, not, you know, of money.... It's
easy to forget that, or overplay it, or to start to sound facetious.
But they really did mobilize and that really does matter."
For Whedon himself, the Serenity film has proven an ideal transitional
vehicle from television to features, though he had toiled for many
years as a film writer (from the original Buffy movie to Toy Story to
the sequel Alien: Resurrection), Serenity would be the first time he
would direct for the big screen.
Not that he's planning on giving up TV. "Never," he insists. "I love,
love, love television. I love it in a way that I don't love film.
They're two completely separate and different entities. And just
because I'm getting a crack at doing what I've wanted to do for a long
while, i.e. my whole life, doesn't mean that I have passed television by.
"It wasn't a stepping stone. Or if it was, it radically stopped being
one when I realized exactly how out there and daring and delightful
and extraordinary things can be on television."
Still, he won't deny that he's enjoying the luxury of the larger
palette. "In a way," he admits, "the stakes are higher. The scripts
are longer. But at the same time, it's pretty much the same process.
It really is. `Did I find the moment?' `How do I hit them?' `Where do
I jab that they're not protecting?' "
Most significantly, in genre circles, he's been hitting and jabbing at
his computer keyboard, finishing up his long-anticipated script for
the Wonder Woman feature he will also direct.
But first, this last bit of "old" business, getting out the Serenity
DVD. Unlike Whedon's often-reticent participation on earlier DVD
commentary tracks, this one has him tripping over his own tongue in an
effort to try and cram everything in.
"The movie," he says, "was three years in the making. So I had a lot
to say."
He has also, he admits, somewhat warmed to the form. "I go back and
forth ... I get very nervous and sometimes I worry that I am going to
be the most boring man alive. But now that I am a little more at ease
with the process, I do kind of enjoy it. I do like showing `behind the
curtain' a little bit."
Particularly in this case: the Serenity DVD's bonus extras contain
several tasty nuggets for the faithful, including, perhaps, a hint of
who he may have in mind for the tiara and bullet-bouncing bracelets of
his Amazon Princess.
There is a point during his commentary track on the movie's deleted
scenes that he refers to cutting back the role of Inara, portrayed by
Morena Baccarin. "But I'll be making that up to her soon," he
cryptically allows on the disc.
Baccarin is one of the names most bandied about as a favoured Wonder
Woman candidate.
But Whedon isn't talking now. "You know," he chuckles, "making up for
something and casting her as Wonder Woman are not exactly the same thing.
"But you know what? Honestly, I don't even think about it. Morena is
spectacularly lovely and very talented, and has a lot of the qualities
I'm looking for. But I'm writing a character now who does not exist in
a physical body. So until that script is finished and I start looking
for that physical body, I won't even have an opinion on the subject."
One wonders if the current project is Goner, a subject that has been
whispered about here and there.

Well, Angel fans...
Let me ask you these questions - Do you want an Angel Feature Film? Is
this something you would go to the theaters to see? Is this something
you are willing to put some effort into making happen?
We here at saveangel.org are not asking for a day, we're not asking
for an afternoon, we're not even asking for an hour...
We're asking for 5 minutes out of your week to download a colorful
picture, adhere it to a postcard, and send it to the current Film
Campaign target.
And just as those who weren't Faith fans supported the Faith Spin-off
Campaign, and those who weren't Firefly fans hopefully supported
Serenity by going to the theater, and those who aren't Spike fans will
support the upcoming Spike movie campaign, we're asking all Whedon
fans to throw your time and support behind the Angel Feature Film
Campaign!
We all want more Whedon in some form or other. Supporting the Angel
Feature Film Campaign will reunite the ATS S5 Fang Gang on the big
screen. In case you've forgotten, this includes: Angel, Wesley, Gunn,
Lorne, Illyria, and Spike! This film might also include some BTVS
alum. It will have something for everybody!
So is 5 minutes really too much to ask to see these great characters
reunited on the big screen? Lets unite together as Angel fans and show
how much we want this film to happen. We Will Not Be Forgotten!

Ever since Angel was cancelled and fans began campaigning, I've been
amazed how many good ideas and strategies have been suggested by fans
of the Whedonverse. Soon it will be two years since that awful
announcement was made by the WB and and our members are still being
creative with their wonderful suggestions. It's important that the
ideas never stop coming.
It's also important that people participate when a campaign strategy
is decided upon. Good ideas alone are not going to help bring our
favorite characters back. When there's a call to action, please
remember that it's not meant for someone else. If we want to be heard,
we're going to have to be loud. We can only be loud if many of us
participate. Let's give it our best shot.

Buffy voted third greatest fantasy hero of all time
From Scotsman.com - By Webmaster - 2005-10-31
Potter is the ultimate fantasy hero.
Harry Potter has been voted the greatest fantasy hero of all time.
The schoolboy wizard, whose latest film Harry Potter And The Goblet of
Fire has its world premiere this Sunday, was the runaway favourite in
a poll of film fans.
Darth Vader was named the greatest villain.
The Sci Fi channel asked 1,500 moviegoers to name the best fantasy and
sci-fi heroes.
The cyborg star of Terminator 2, played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, came
second. Buffy the Vampire Slayer was third, followed by Spiderman.
Doctor Who, the big winner at last week's National Television Awards,
came fifth.
Star Wars characters Han Solo and Yoda made the top 10 - but there was
no place for Luke Skywalker.
Neo from The Matrix, Star Trek's Commander Spock and Batman completed
the list.
In the villains poll, Darth Vader came top followed by the monster
from the Alien films and The Borg from Star Trek. The Daleks were
fourth, ahead of The Joker from the Batman films and Arnie's first
outing as the Terminator.
The Sci Fi channel commissioned the poll to mark its 10th birthday on
Tuesday.
A spokesman said: "It's great that a home-grown icon has been voted
the greatest hero. To give film fans their ultimate showdown, JK
Rowling needs to pit her boy wizard against Darth Vader."

David Boreanaz - No Bones about it: this show's clicking.
From Canada.com - By Alex Strachan - 2005-10-31
Emily Deschanel stars as Dr. Temperance Brennan in Bones, the new
crime drama on Global and FOX.
Bones returns on Fox and Global Tuesday at 8 p.m. Check local listings
for times and availability.
"Writers lives are not that interesting," Hart Hanson says, though
judging from all the evidence, the Parksville, B.C.-born TV writer and
executive producer is leading an all-too-interesting life these days.
His new series, Bones, based on the novels of Quebec forensic
anthropologist and bestselling author Kathy Reichs returns Tuesday to
the Fox network (Global in Canada), after a brief hiatus caused by the
baseball playoffs.
When it does, the forensic thriller featuring Emily Deschanel as a
headstrong anthropologist and David Boreanaz as her equally headstrong
partner-in-crime-solving, will resume its position as one of the fall
season's early success stories with an average 8 million viewers a
week, a full-season order of episodes and, unusually for a first-year
series, audience growth in its third week over the first two.
The numbers, while gratifying, are not what drives Hanson.
The one-time staff writer for Joan of Arcadia and Judging Amy who once
peddled stories to the University of Victoria's Malahat Review
Hanson's 1988 novel, The Last Gypsy Summer, won the National Norma
Epstein Award is having one of those click moments, when everything
seems to be coming together.
Hanson initially shied away from Bones the last thing he wanted, he
told his producer partner Barry Josephson, was to write a procedural
thriller but it soon became evident that this was going to be more
of a character study than a straight howdunit.
It's about looking at what the case means to the people who are
working on it, and not just how the case is going to unfold and how
they're going to catch the bad guy," Hanson said. "I told them. 'You
don't want me to do a forensic show, because I have no interest in
those straight procedural shows.' I told them I wanted it to have a
certain level of humour. It has to be funny once in a while. And they
said, 'No, no, we know your work, we want to incorporate that.'
"And I kept waiting for them to have lied right up until the point
where we were shooting the third episode. I kept waiting for them to
say, 'No, no, you have to do it like CSI,' and that moment never came."
"My feeling is that, in grossly simplistic terms, if it's not a third
to a half about the character, then I'm going to get bored and I'm no
longer going to do it. So far, luckily and largely thanks to House
that idea has been embraced."
Bones's cast Deschanel, Boreanaz, Michaela Conlin and Eric Millegan
gelled mere days into production. And the stories, with their
emphasis on bone fragments and forensic anthropology, are sufficiently
unique to separate Bones from the horde of similarly themed crime series.
Reichs, who divides her time between writing novels and her dual
duties for North Carolina's medical examiner's office and Montreal's
Laboratoire des Sciences Judicaires et de Medecine Legale (she is also
a professor of anthropology at the University of North
Carolina-Charlotte) has given Bones and Hanson her seal of
approval, and is now acting in a consulting role.
"She's off being a very best-selling author," Hanson said, laughing.
"I gather she's doing less and less forensic work, and she's becoming
quite the media figure. She's a good storyteller. Her books are doing
very, very well. We all have time-management issues. Which one are you
going to pick poking around dead bodies or writing books? She does
read the scripts, and offers comments as much as she can at the time.
She's not uninvolved in the show; she's just not here with us, on the
lot, in the offices."
Hanson remains proud of Traders, the homegrown drama he helped produce
for several years in Toronto before trying his hand in Hollywood.
"At first blush, so many ideas are bad, and then they go on forever,"
Hanson said. "Traders was just a real challenge. To make a financial
institution interesting from week to week, without turning it into
straight soap opera, is a challenge, and I don't care what anyone
says. It's a challenge."
Hanson is aware of the irony of two Canadians and two former
producers of Traders holding down the fort for the Fox network on
Tuesday nights.
David Shore, a close friend of Hanson's from Toronto, created House
and is that program's executive producer and head writer.
"I said to David, thank you for getting us on the schedule. Because
his show proved you can mix procedural and character, which is what
mine is. He got that genre up on the screen, and then made it a hit.
I've never been so happy to see anyone get an Emmy in my life. He's
worked so very hard, and he's the heart and soul of that show. It is
funny, though. All the Canadians down here tend to know who we are."
New books:
Nancy Holder, a recent Chat Guest on saveangel.org, has a new
anthology out that she edited along with Nancy Kilpatrick. It is
entitled Outsiders: 22 All-New Stories From The Edge. My copy hasn't
arrived yet, so I can't give you my review yet. But I promise, it will
follow. Here is a description from Amazon.com:
"In this knockout anthology, today's most important writers of
speculative fiction cruise the abnormal elements of society and find a
new wave of underground disorder, poignant horror, dirty kisses, and
necessary anarchy.
Including never-before published stories by:
Neil Gaiman, Steve Rasnic Tem, Kathe Koja, David J. Schow, Bentley
Little, Poppy Z. Brite, Joe R. Lansdale, Jack Ketchum, Melanie Tem,
Tanith Lee, Caitlin R. Kiernan, Lea Silhol, Freda Warrington,
Elizabeth Massie, Brett Alexander Savory, Katherine Ramsland, Yvonne
Navarro, Thomas S. Roche, Michael Marano, John Shirley, Brian Hodge,
and Elizabeth Engstrom
...all at their most brilliant and most outrageous.
Here are dangerous games between lovers, howls from the dark, voyeurs
and their victims, disturbed wishes and bitter dreams. Unflinching,
uncommon, and underground, these tales vibrate with new life."
Says Nancy on Outsiders, "I hope that you will all enjoy the
anthology. We worked hard to get the cream of the crop and we
certainly did. We're grateful to all our wonderful authors, who gave
us their best."
Reading Angel: The TV Spin-off With A Soul (edited by Stacey Abbott).
This book is a collection of essays about Angel. From the back cover:
"Reading Angel looks at the cinematic aesthetics of Angel, it's music,
editing and mise-en-scene. It investigates the show's shifting
portrayal of masculinity, its strong noir Los Angeles setting, and its
demonization of racial difference. It examines the impact and
influence of comedy, the superhero and horror on Angel, and would not
be complete without considering corporate and global evil in the form
of Wolfram & Hart. These themes and more are addressed in this
critical tribute to Angel for its followers and fans, by writers who
are drawn together by their fascination with the vampire with a soul. "
This book is bigger than Five Seasons of Angel and according to Gman,
is similar in tone to the Buffy books edited by Rhonda Wilcox and
David Lavery. Speaking of which...
Rhonda Wilcox's Why Buffy Matters: The Art of Buffy the Vampire Slayer
has just been published.
Here is a description from Amazon.com: "Rhonda Wilcox is the world's
foremost authority on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, its characters, and
its themes. Wilcox argues that Buffy is enduring as art by exploring
its excellence in both long-term story arc construction and in
producing individual episodes that are powerful on their own. She
examines the larger patterns that extend through all seven seasons:
the hero myth, imagery of light, naming symbolism, Buffy's
relationship with Spike, sex, and redemption. Wilcox also focuses on
acclaimed and noteworthy episodes, including the musical "Once More,
with Feeling," the largely silent and wordless "Hush," and the dream
episode "Restless." She examines Buffy's literary narrative,
symbolism, visual imagery, and sound. Combining great intelligence and
wit, written for fans, this is the worthy companion to the show that
has claimed and kept the minds and hearts of watchers worldwide."
Joss Whedon will be guest-starring on the November 9th episode of
Veronica Mars. Let UPN know how much you enjoyed seeing him on that
episode and how much more you would enjoy seeing him produce an
Angel/Buffy spin-off series on UPN. Go to www.upn.com and click on

Hello, all Intrepid Angel Fans!
Are you here to work? Or just for the food? (OK, metaphorical food!)
Serenity has been a mild success at the box office, a terrific
achievement for a film with absolutely no well-know stars appearing.
Therefore we need to make our desires for an Angel film - with a
larger fanbase - known!
Universal Studios is the power behind the Serenity film, and the
Phase 3 target for an Angel feature film. We'd like to ask every one
of you to hit them with a postcard one more time as well as write our
new target. We want them to know that we helped make Serenity a
success, and we'll be there for Angel: The Motion Picture!

A message from Gman:
James Marsters will be on the 10/20 episode of Smallville. He will
appear as Milton Fine aka new villain, Brainiac. This will be a
recurring role. So give it a view and support James by contacting the
WB via e-mail, telephone, and postcard and by posting on the WB
Board. Let the WB know how much you enjoy seeing James. If you are
new to Smallville and are watching because of James or are a
returning viewer (like me) don't be shy about mentioning that. Please
be polite and positive. And, oh yeah, if you want to see a Spike
movie, you might want to mention that, too.
Here's how to contact the WB:
The phone # for the WB is 818-977-5000 (ask for voicemail feedback).
Remember, the WB is located in California, so they are on Pacific Time
(and are open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Mon-Fri).
If you are on Eastern Time, you should call after 12:00 PM.
If you are on Central Time, you should call after 11:00 AM.
If you are on Mountain Time, you should call after 10:00 AM.
If you are on Pacific Time, you should call after 9:00 AM.

Spike tv movie postcards will be coming soon!
Come on. Show some support for a great actor who's also great to the
fans!
Take A letter Cordelia
James Marsters On Smallville.
There was the merest peek of him on the first episode of Smallville's
New Fall Season. We know that as Brainiac, he will have lost his
English accent and his lovely blonde hair, but Spike fans have helped
to give a triple digit increase to the numbers watching. James,
himself, is modest about the gain.
He would never dream of taking that kind of credit. All I can do is
talk from my own experience. When Angel was cancelled from the WB, I
did exactly as I said I would. I stopped watching the WB. I didn't
even tune in for the The Mountain episodes with James in them. I
stopped watching Charmed. The WB did not exist on my planet.
Yet, here I am watching Smallville. I do it because if enough of us
do it and let the WB know that we want to see that Spike Movie made,
they'll have to honor the promise they made. It won't be enough to
tell us the ball is in the other court.
It's crunch time and I am ready to give the WB a chance, with
Smallville, to win back my trust. Somebody has to tell these folks,
Dark Shadows remakes ain't gonna cut it. I won't (and neither will my
very large family) be satisfied with just glimpses of James as
Brainiac. Smallville's nice, but Sunnydale was nicer, and best of
all, is Spike and Angel's Los Angeles. That's what I want to go back
and see.

Eliza Dushku - "True Lies 2" Movie - More News
From Joblo.com - By Omar Aviles - 2005-10-12
Earlier this year, Tom Arnold spoke to Star Magazine about a rumored
TRUE LIES sequel and mentioned the following:
"We all caught up - Jim [Cameron], Jamie [Lee Curtis], Eliza
[Dushku], Bill [Paxton] and myself - to talk about True Lies 2 about
a month ago in Cali. We're doing it. Definitely doing it. I'm revved."
Seems unlikely but if Arnold wants to talk about it, that's cool.
However, things just got a little more interesting since Chris
alerted us to what Dushku said about this proposed sequel in a recent
issue of Buffy Magazine. What's interesting is the fact that she said
the exact same thing as Arnold. She mentioned:
"We all caught up Me, Jamie Lee, Arnold, and Jim, to talk about True
Lies 2, about a month ago in California. We're Doing it. Definitely
doing it. I'm revved."
What are the chances of both of them saying the exact same thing?
When did this "catching-up" meeting actually take place? Did they
actually discuss the sequel? Is it really happening? What's the real
truth here? More importantly, who uses "revved" anymore? All
interesting questions which may never be answered and if they aren't,
I'm pretty sure most people would be ok with that.
On a related note, Dushku apparently wants to be Wonder Woman.
However, so does Morena Baccarin and Joss Whedon seems to favor her
for the role. One thing that can't be debated is that they're both
certainly hot enough for the role.
Nicholas Brendan and Adrienne Barbeau can be seen in a film clip from
the new movie: UNHOLY

Nicholas Brendon - "Kitchen Confidential" Tv Series - Kristin says is
not cancelled
From Eonline.com - 2005-10-12
From tvjunkie1577: What is going on with Kitchen Confidential? I keep
hearing it's canceled. Say it ain't so!
It is not canceled...at least not yet. There was confusion because
it's off the schedule for baseball, but it is still in production, so
tune in.
David Boreanaz's Bones is in the same boat as no new episodes will be
shown on FOX until after the World Series. I like sports as much as
the next guy, but you have to wonder is this a fair way to judge a
new series?
"Once More With Feeling", the musical episode from season 6 of Buffy:
The Vampire Slayer is being brought back to life. A San Francisco
arts group called Counter Pulse is mounting a live stage production
of the musical episode, which aired on UPN in Nov. of 2001. They will
run performances on Oct. 22 and 23 and again on Halloween night. The
group is playing two shows a night and THREE of the PERFOMANCES ARE
(already) SOLD OUT!
"Once More With Feeling" which was written (I hardly need tell you)
by Joss Whedon, who also directed it and composed the songs. The
Buffy creator opens his tv episode with Buffy and The Scoobies
inexplicably breaking into song, Broadway style and at the same time
revealing secrets about themselves. They eventually discover that a
musical demon, accidentally summoned to Sunnydale, is making
mischief.
This episode earned an Emmy nomination (and fans are still bitter
that it didn't win)
for music direction (like there was competition from another show's
musical).
This stage production features a live band performing with the
dancers and actors. Counter Pulse says "costumes are encouraged."

Charisma Carpenter - Ausiello says the hatchet has been buried with
Joss Whedon
From tvguide.com - 2005-10-15
Question: Did Joss Whedon mention Charisma Carpenter being on
Veronica Mars while you were interviewing him? Is there any chance
the rift between them has healed? - Lara Du Pres
Ausiello: Yes, he discussed Charisma and yes, I think we can assume
from his comments that the rumored hatchet has been buried. This is
what he said when I asked him why he thinks Charisma keeps getting
cast as bitchy sexpots: "She looks the part, let's face it. She's a
stunner, she's voluptuous, she's got that sort of air about her. But
she's not that person at all... I mean, Cordelia was that person
until we said, 'Let's see the other side.' She can just sort of take
that and hit it out of the park, and then if you need to get in
deeper, there's more there. Whether or not they're going to show that
[on Veronica Mars] I don't know, although that is sort of Veronica
Mars' benchmark. It's their staple that the person you think you know
perfectly is more textured."

Yes, the second weekend will tell all, as we've always known. I'm not
here to push you guys -- you push yourselves way harder than I could
anyway. I'm just trying to figure out how to get the message out to
the guys that aren't you, that don't know any of you, and that don't

It's not that there HAS to be a sequel. It's just that I've got so
